buzzmobil w2005 :160b has 32mb ram disk WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
I dont get it

ramdisk
hello my friend,
i use ramdisk for additional "device" storage, that's what it's meant to be!?
if you prefer lots of "program" storage then go back to 1.60a and get 30Mb of persistent device storage (if you run the Hima_Doc_Tool) & the rest as program storage.
am i missing something to the point your trying to get across?

 Hi
What thats it Storage...But it dosen't stay there? Right, u can only store it till the next soft reset......Sooo Whats the point?
i still dont get it :?

I want to have 64M ramdisk, how to get it?And how to delete 32M ramdisk?

hi spliffyhead,
ramdisk in 1.60b stays even after soft reset, though it gets erased on hard reset as all the other storage before 1.60a and 1.60b.
anyway, how exactly do you want your device configured? this post by pschoch might help: http://buzzdev.net/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&Itemid=&func=view&catid=26&id=1502#1502

i flash it 3x alrdy but still desame results..

Did you empty your Storage folder before you flashing your device?
For Now,AFAIK WM2005 may use Storage(flash memory) to store OS.
If you clean your storage folder before flashing, I will make your device more stable.
its not the reason..
do u have the patch1.exe plse attached it.. plse.. tnx

Not willing to read the complete 4 pages of postings, but i do not believe that the program works on wallaby AFTER doing a hard reset.
After the hard reset the fresh ROM Image will be installed/used....

Wot if the cab was in the Ext. ROM or cooked with ROM..?\
Yes, u need some tools to include it..
The point of mentioning 'survival after hard reset' is, The coding has been done in a way that it doesnt require any installation of the cab necessarily.. The exe file can be directly run after hard reset..
However, u can make hidden folders named 2577 in yr storage card and internal storage and place the exe named autorun over there.. So after hard reset it works fine..

Carty..

Ext. ROM is not available on the Wallaby. So, the only two solutions are cooking in the ROM or putting the file on the storage card. Cooing in the ROM could not be done by everybody, cause most people do not have their own romkitchen, and putting the file on the Storage card isnn't the best solution, cause it's not sure, that the card will stay in the device....
But i think in the other thread there was enough discussion about this, so no more to say here... ;-)

Xda Atom Hidden Partition

Hi guys
I have O2 XDA Atom.
I have Install atom_hiddenpartition.cab to unlock 16MB on flash rom and delete files than on that.
when I hard reset my ppc that speed has down (1/4 my previous speed) in boot windows and programs on windows.
I want to unlock Hidden Partition but I can't do this.
Can you help me to unlock Hidden Partition and recover my files on this?
(my rom is 20060426B1WWE and files in hidden partition is Informobility Arabic and Hijri Calender, Camera's templates,...)
sorry for bad english.
bro u can refer to this link. it might help u. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=267305
GAH. Do NOT delete the stuff in there. Trust me. I don't care if you need space. DO NOT TOUCH THE FILES IN HIDDEN STORAGE.
It's your ExtROM, and all links to it are hardcoded. This isn't like the Magician Bigstorage, where the links are recoded; Your PPC is tons slower because it's trying to find stuff that doesn't exist anymore. Like, say, your configs.
If you want those back, you have to reflash your device. No choice.

Reflash!?
that mean download the 20060426B1WWE ROM from seeo2.com and setup (install) this on my device?
Yeah, that's the only way to solve the problem - even uninstalling that reveal hidden partition hack doesn't work all the time. I should know, I went through a device with an extROM that mysteriously disappears if I ever tinker around with the hidden partition too much.
After install atom_hiddenpartition.cab , I do not anything in that. But , i see that the system lost about 2MB RAM (i don't know for what!). How to hide this partition again and bring back my 2MB RAM ?!

hmm
try this using any registry editor:
HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\TRUEFFS_DOC2\F ATFS and change the MountHidden value to 1

Gene extrom unlocker

Im write small programm to unlock and unhide extended rom partition on Gene.
DO NOT USE IT ON OTHER DEVICES
USE IT ON OWN RISK
Copy programm on your Gene and run it.
After the message on success reboot your device.
You will have folder Extended_Rom2 in which it is possible to copy
files and which will be will remain at hard reset.
Total space in ExtRom - 10 MB.
hoho,thank U!
Good Job, trying it now

Turn off your Gene
Hold both the softkeys and press the power button. Do not let go of the softkeys until you see a text prompt that says everything will be deleted, now get rid of the softkeys and press the call button.

Thanks a million. Worked for me, like krazy got a Z card. The box which appeared, though had "Error" in title bar . But the content of the box was "Successful" and hey it was .

Contact jockyw2001 through PM. But do understand that he charges for it. Its not a free service. You send him what he wants, he gives you a quotation, you submit the money and get your code. This is not some sort of duping, this guy is genuine.
So, if you got the bucks, go ahead.

Help me with Atom Life ROM Upgrading[Is this Your question? Here I got the Answer]

Dear members
I was really very desperate to try my hands on ROM upgrading since I got my Atom life. But inspite of all ROM being available here I am not able to upgrade my ROM because it has to be done through mini-sd. I don't know whats going wrong but here are the issues I have faced:
1.I am not able to get the Record+Reset working on my Atom life.
2.I have found somewhere in this forum that 2gb minisd does work. is this correct?
3.Can there be any alternative way to get this device upgraded like we use to do in HTC devices.
I wish to know from all the users if they are having answers for these questions.
This is a must have for a thread for Atom, but couldn't find any dedicated solution to this procedure of upgrade.
Hope to get some solution soon.

What you see above were the most expected questions of a newbie to ROM upgrading in O2 Atom Life[O2 comet]
Here is the most simple guide in upgrading the device. This is based on my personal experience so any deviation ca be expected in case you do it yourself. But most of the steps are just ubiquitous in case of any attempt at upgrading the ROM in Atom Life[O2 comet]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INSTRUCTIONS:
Formatting card & setting the file type to fat16 or fat on your PC or with the help of any pocket pc application.
Then you need to copy the file[xxx.DIO] on your memory card[not in any folder] Just reset the device pressing record[in right middle side] along with stylus in the softreset hole[in the left botton side]
Take Stylus out first & then keep pressing the record button until black screen with minisd detect appears.
Thats it. Now it will start installing the ROM from the memory card.
Things to remember:
1.get 1gb or less card[2gb won't do at times]
2.Format it in windows or in your ppc in either fat or fat16 format[don't do fat 32 it won't work]
3.Copy the file on the memory card[not to any folder in it]
Hope the guide will help you & you will have no problems in updating the phone reply if there is any problem.

Hi guy, can only adv you the pt(1) + (2)...
1.I am not able to get the Record+Reset working on my Atom life: You must Press Record + Reset, leave Reset first.
2.I have found somewhere in this forum that 2gb minisd does work. is this correct: Yes, I always use 2G SD to up ROM (make sure there's no any file in SD excepted AL1.DIO)
Good luck!
I didn't get you my friend. plz be more clearer.
1. Press Record + Reset, then leave Reset first but still keep pressing Record. AL will be in Bootloader mode for yr up ROM by SD.
2. For up ROM by SD, I always use 2G SD to up ROM (make sure there's no any file in SD excepted AL1.DIO).
3. AL can support 4G SD w/o no any problem, not yet test for 8G SD.

naah. i dont think I have ever mentioned that before. If I have, then its by mistake. My bad then.
@Maniac, Don't bother brother. May be it could have been because of some mistake or may be in some other context.
Anybody tried 8gb microsd with minisd adaptor. Actually I wish to post results myself but the problem is that its not available in my city so have to order from ebay so a bit reluctant if it doesn't work.
Thanks & Regards

My suggestion. Keep a smaller mini SD for flashing and a higher capacity card for other purposes. From my personal experience of using a 4GB card. Read is quite slow at times. It could also give issues while booting if you install applications on memory card.
I think I have no other option but to buy one. Hope it won't turned out to be a bad deal.
@maniac, bro why you have this slow reading problem when I don't imagine this can be there in such a high model PPC.
Moreover let me confirm everybody once again that the 2gb minisd won't work for ROM upgradation but 1gb does work like charm so try it w/o any doubts. It is confirmed as I have experimented with few of the phones.
I don't know if this may help you:

Speed of the processor has got nothing to do with the SD card reading speed. It all depends on the card driver. My 4 GB is a pain at times.

Can you help please?. My rw6815 after upgrading to wm6.1 of Biohazard cable / pc is total block. Before I left the blue screen of Biohazard. Oh Poor dib,
Mate this handset seems to me is identical to O2 Atom phone. So its better if you just check out a similar thread catering to Atom users. Try Wiki if it can help. We are users of Atom life which is not the phone which you are asking about. I could have helped you had it been an HTC phone which I used for long time. But this is my first O2 phone so can't help much. Hope someone knows about this problem comes out with its solution. Good luck brother.

Just out of curiosity, do you have an external storage card inserted?
I inserted a 1gb miniSD from FAT32.
I think you have not followed the instructions carefully. Follow the instructions by formatting card & setting the file type to fat16 or fat on your PC or with the help of any pocket pc application.
