Which service pack is needed for install ActiveSync 4.0? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Hello.
Finally I finished the installation of w2k5 in my XDA II. But now I´ve got another problem... To syncronize the XDA II with the computer, it´s needed to use ActiveSync 4.0, but to installate it, it´s necesary the latests service pack at the windows of your system... This is the problem... which is the service pack that I exactly need? Cause i tried to install service pack 2, but I can´t ( everybody knows why I cant... my windows it´s... not so legal as Microsoft would...)
Please, some help!
SCSSSD.

sp2 is required as far as i know

SP 1 will also do...tats wat they say in their compatibility list, but not sure if sp1 should b updated or not, try installing the activesync n see

Ok. I finally did it upgrading to SP2. The problem was that my validation key was not correct ( everybody knows why ) but I found some ways to solve it
Now it works, I can syncronize it via Infrareds but I can´t do it via USB (I have wrote it down in a new post...)
Best Regards

What Windows version are you running on the PC? XP with Service Pack 1?
Many users -including me- are unable to sync via USB with WM2005 because WM2005 needs a different USB driver that is part of service pack 2.
I use bluetooth to activesync.
Cheers
Pat

Windows Mobile-based device problem after upgrading to wm5

After upgrading my Qtek 2020 to WM5 I got the message:
Found new hardware Windows Moile-based device.
I have installed ActiveSync 4.0, but no difference.
So by not finding the new hardware Activesync doesn't work.
Anyone know how to solf this problem?
You could read the forum and the info on http://www.buzzdev.net... then you would know the known problems of activesync 4... for instance you need service pack 2 installed
SP2 is installed, Activesync on other PC works, but when I try to install for example TomTom5 or TomTom3 it gives an error:
TomTom Setup Application has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Every install I make I get this error. Exploring the PDA with Activesync works fine.

unable to find device driver

Hi Guys,
I have an O2 ATOM Exec which was fine initially. I bought a new notebook with Windows VISTA and now I'm having troubling syncing. I have downloaded the latest Windows Mobile Device Centre and notebook is fully up to date. When I attach the USB cable windows finds the new device. I ask it to search for the driver but it cant find the device driver.
Can somebody please help me?
Thanks heaps from now.
Hi again,
Can someone please help me. Do I need to download a device driver? the OS cant seem to recognise the device. It says unable to find device driver for Windows CE USB Device.
I would really appreciate if someone can point me to the right direction.
I have the same problem. Who knows please tell me. thank
Have you all try calling Microsoft or O2?
Goto http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/default.mspx
Select the following according to you OS.
Synchronize with your PC
•For Windows XP or earlier:
Download ActiveSync 4.5
•For Windows Vista:
Visit the Windows Mobile Device Center
>_> I think your only recourse is to VM WinXP and Async from there (I don't know if this is possible, but you can try). IIRC Vista has problems syncing to older devices. <_<

cd that came with t-mobile mda...htc wizard

im wondering if any1 has the cd that came with the t-mobile mda....the cd with the drivers and the activesync...if any1 has it please post it...in iso form...or just all the stuff that is on it...
CDs are generally useless IMO, I would recommend going to the Microsoft website to get the latest version of Activesync and your provider to download any official updates for your device.
Of course you wouldn't be here if you weren't interested in cooked ROMs.
well let me explain my problem...i have windows vista and cant update because it isnt compatible but i got a virtual pc and it sayes that i should use the cd...to get the drivers for the t-mobile mda...cuz i already have the activesync...buti need that installed...

Get ActiveSync direct from Microsoft. It will install the USB drivers needed to sync with all supported PDAs and SmartPhones. You don't need anything else... besides Outlook to sync the contacts, etc.
ok ty ill retry
vista's activesync is build it, dont worry about it, it should just automatically install the nessesary stuff
mda cd tmobile
..i found it....may be a little late...still interested
