are you talking about it not letting you access your SD Card
or about storage
it's 2 different things

[Q] [HELP] upgrading from 2GB sdcard to 4GB when a rom uses a part of it?

I am using openOptimus build 2.202.1 with 2 GB sdcard, which is partitioned as
MBR 1 block
FAT32 1.36GB
disk1s2 Linux Ext2FS 487.57 MB
and now i wish to upgrade to 4GB sdcard. How can i do it unambiguously?
From things i know, in Windows Mobile and Symbian systems, changing memory card does not make trouble. Also i think you should copy all your data to some folder on desktop, make Partition Copy of sdcard then start changing process (copying data).
I've changed 2GB card to 8GB card (soon to 16GB) and my android does not seem to notice that change. (just more free placoe)
You can also copy data from previous, insert new into android, let it meet your new sdcard, then put it out and copy rest of data..
This is what i did :
1. first partitioned the new sdcard from recovery
2. copied the contents by mounting usb storage.
up and going. thanks .
If you have a2sd ext partition you should make a nand backup on your 2gb card to backup ext partition, then you copy all contents to your 4gb card and restore nand.

[Q] AT&T i717 using 16 gig internal storage as both internal and sd storage

Basically my phone has partitioned ? My internal 16 gig as a 2 gig folder that it considers the internal and a 10+ gig "external" that it uses in liu of the 32 gig micro ssd card.
How can I combine my 2 gig + 10 gig (or whatever the formatted free capacity is after ROM) as the internal and use my 32 gig external micro ssd as my external_sd ?
I deleted the ROM in TWRP and this seems to have began my troubles (though I have had similar issues in other roms in the past.
You have 16gb total storage on the device without a separate sdcard.
2gb internal storage= space for apps
Misc. Amount for system files, kernel etc.
The rest is user storage space partitioned to the /sdcard directory.
When you insert a micro sdcard its folder path is /sdcard/external_sd/
So it looks like a folder within your built in internal "sdcard"
If you are seeing a different partition layout, I would flash back to full stock.

The thing is es file explorer is not seeing the files on the sd. The 10 gig internal memory is showing as the externalsd directory This happens about all jb roms. Novena is showing as u described.. why only 2 gig for apps seems lije before i uswd the entire 16
Nope, that 2 gig app partition has been in place since the galaxy s1, it's the way Samsung's partition table is.
On jelly bean Roms, see if you have either a "sdcard 0" folder in the sdcard directory
Or an "Emmc" folder in the root directory.

[Q] Installing games

Hi,
I tried installing high end games which require high memory space on my canvas HD. This was as per the guidelines mentioned on the download sites as well as some threads on this forum. The problem that I am facing is as follows:
# I have an external memory card 14GB. I installed the .apk file first and then copied the contents of the cache folder (.obb extension!!??) into external sd card>Android>obb. Then I tried to run the game but it asks me to download the cache separately. What am I doing wrong?
# I also wanted to know, I have my default write disk selected as external SD card. So whenever I install any .apk file, does the program get installed in the external memory card?
# In the apps section, there is one phone memory and internal SD card memory. Does the phone memory correspond to 2 GB default memory and the internal SD card correspond to the 14 GB? While installing any program, what memory should I select?
Cheers

[Q] ms500 internal flash [SOLVED] kinda.

LG ms500
Xperion 4.2.1.
Tr.apk root

Fredom kernal overclock modded with androidforums.com/metropcs-optimus-f6-all-things-root/838351-mod-beta-sdcard-memory-hack-6.html
After successfully modding my kernal thanks to press4pie I have decided I would like to format my internal fat32 and mount it to external sd via volstab. But i don't know which file contains the correct path. Is it 179:32 or 33? (Both contain no os)
Also the correct script to mount it successfully.
Thank you : )
Edit: reason i want internal flash mounted like this is so i can expand my ram onto it, making a nice and responsive virtual ram considering its the internal.
I couldn't figure this out but, i did find out that the emulated sd card is now called "data-stock" and its mounted but not as sd. I also found out that ram eexpander has an option to manually write the address where you would like to allocate the vram. So i cleared out the emulated storage on the internal flash and connected roesoft to it. Done. Using the 1.14g of f6 unused emulated storage for vram. And it writes hell of alot faster then if i was to allocate the vram on tru extsd!!!!!!!

Please help!! Internal SD card is missing!!!

Hi folks,
Got Xiaomi MI3 MT6589 with Internal storage 16 GB (no external SD card slot). Phone is rooted, USB debugging enabled & TWRP installed. I had previously backed up my stock ROM with MTK tools. Then I tested one MIUI based custom ROM which was not working. Then tried to move back to stock rom by SP flash tools with original backed files. Then there was the disaster- my backed up stock system.img was corrupted and cannot be used. Then I used system.img from another MT6589 rom which flashed successfully. Everything is working- I can install apps, play games (that is Internal data- data partition I guess) but I cannot access my internal SD card (SD card partition) which means I cannot store personal files or use apps which need internal SD card like file explorer, camera etc.
What I noticed from my scatter file is that my devices have only one "EBR1" file while the ROM zip from which I extract system.img, has two "EBR1" and "EBR2" files. Is that the reason, the internal SD card is not shown??............Though I couldnt find another working ROM zip with only one EBR1 file for the device.
Since i am rooted, I can replace/edit system files. Can anybody share idea which files do I have to manipulate/edit to make internal SD card show again. I read somewhere about editing vold.stab file inside system root. But i need proper guidance. Please help.. Thanks..

Thanks. But my problem is different. By installing custom rom's system.img, I cannot access my Internal SD card. . So I want to know which system files determines the size of "emulated SD" card, so that I can make adjustments.
My device has internal storage is 16 GB. May be system partition is using around 500 MB while data partition shows 6.5 G.B in apps>storage. So remaining 8 GB should be for user partition (SD card) which i need to access.
