I very rarely use MMS on my Himalaya, but I still like the feature to be there in case someone else sends me one. I recently received such a message from a friend, and was unable to download it. I am using O2 UK.
Now in the past, I have managed to send and receive MMS on the device, and have not since changed any settings relating to the service. However, when I now open the new MMS and click on the 'Download' button, the device connects to the WAP network, the 'MMS Receiving' icon appears at the top of the screen, and then promptly disappears. The message does not download, and simply allows me to press the 'Download' button again.
Have O2 changed the MMS service in some way during the past few months that would prevent me from receiving messages? I can still send them without problems, but receiving is another matter entirely.
I have tried reinstalling ArcSoft MMS, and reconfiguring the MMS server settings, but nothing I do seems to help.
Does anyone have any ideas, as I'm going crazy trying to figure this out...
Just for reference, here are my settings.

I guess I'm the only one having a problem... :?

Alright,
I've exhausted most of the suggestions found on the internet so I'm asking for help on this one more (last hopefully) time...
I can not send MMS... I receive the ""Originator address not found" error...
I've checked the MMS options (arcsoft):
Server Name: Verizon Wireless
Gateway: *Blank
Port Number: 80
Server Address: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms
Connect Via: Verizon Wireless (Matches the connection name under systems\connections)
Send Limit: 500K
I have confirmed the contents of the WSPheader registry but ... here they are... maybe I'm missing something:
Accept: application/vnc.wap.multipart.related
Accept-Charset: us-ascii,utf-8,iso-10646-usc-2,ISO-8859-1
Accept-Language: en
User-Agent: utstar6850
X-VzW-MDN: 1+MDN (ex. 12223334444)
x-wap-profile: http://uaprof.vtext.com/utstar/6850/utstar6850.xml
That is the entire contents of the HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\Arcsoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader key.
If I need to post any further data or info... please let me know... I know its just MMS, but for some reason if something should work and it doesn't I can't rest until I get it working....
Could it be a VzW provisioning issue? This line has never used MMS before as it is a new line. How would I go about asking VzW to confirm that the phone has been setup properly in the MMS servers?
PS: I'm using the leaked VzW TP ROM.... with Arcsoft MMS 5.0.68.46 built in...
Thanks for any help,
Little correction
In the X-VzW-MDN string, try removing the 1 before your mobile number. I know on my 6800, with the custom rom loaded to it, I had to continually go in and re-enter all that data, and in that field on my device it was always x-VzW-MDN=937*****52 (hence without the +1)
Try that, let me know the scoop....
Nathan
I can't either.....thought it was just me. I get "Message Delivery failed or message reciept failed" .Hopefully the above solution works.
Ok... so Verizon is annoying
After three calls to customer service asking them to check the MMS provisioning server for my phone number the CS rep said "Strange, it shows your number as having this feature but it isn't activated." Which could mean one of many things including the two prior people doing something wrong etc...
Anyway they fixed it by dropped and readding the feature and everything works.
Thanks for all the help!
I am having trouble sending a picture message through MMS. I installed this - http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=59412 - Arcsoft MMS. It now allows me to insert the pictures in my message, but when I go to send it it says:
"In order to send/download MM messages, the current active connection may be closed (this may affect other applications in use. Do you want to continue?" so I hit menu > yes.
Then is says:
Message delivery failed. Or Message receipt failed.
I am running NFSFANs Rom 111

who is your carrier what/who's version of arcsoft did u install. did you check your settings?
Service: Alltel which is now Verizon
Version: SPRINT Arcsoft MMS 5.0.70.24. Threading MMS works! (Updated 3-2-09)
Cabs: Sprint Arcsoft MMS 5.0.70.24.cab and Sprint Arcsoft MMS 5.0.70.24-pm.cab
Neither version would work with my service, I have Alltel and the rls says Sprint, so that may be my problem. All I want to do is send picture messages. My phone can do almost anything I want but it can't send a picture message that my old Nokia from 3 years ago could do?
Thnx for the help btw
P.S. another odd bug with that Arcsoft program is when I go to check my emails and hit "Mark All as Read" it opens the Arcsoft settings...wierd...
ok so go to your inbox then press menu/mms options(may say pics and video options)/servers/alltel. if alltel isnt there just click on the default. if alltel is there and not the default-set it to default and delete others. then open the default. here is your settings.
server name: Alltel MMSC
Gateway: mms.alltel.com
port:8080 (try 8080 first if it doesnt work try just 80)
server address: http://mms.alltel.com/servlets/mms
connect via: the internet
send limit: i have mine set 100k currently
if you dont care to use an older arcsoft just install this it should work right from the get go. im pretty sure its calkulins. ive used it 4ever.
any chance you can get this app to work with the TELUS network?
That would be great if it worked for Telus...
Hello All,
Hope all you are having a great 2011! I just noticed that my x10i cannot receive picture text. When I received the picture text, it popped up like a normal text, however, instead of displaying the picture, it says "message cannot be downloaded". Have anyone experienced the same problem? I had my data traffic disable because I do not have data plan, but after enabling the data traffic, it still does not download. Is there something in the setting that I need to enable in order to receive the picture texts? Thanks for all the help!!

In which country?
Try using automatic settings. Go to settings and click on Sony Ericsson at the top of the page. It should download it automatically. Make sure your WiFi is off.
Hello,
I'm from the United States. I tried pressing the settings download - download settings for internet and MMS and it asked me to select my provider, which is t-mobile. After selecting the provider, it says that settings could not be download. What should I do? Thanks

Can someone please help me on how I can send mms via my android htc mytouch 4g slide? Ive configured the network settings, I can receive mms just fine but I cant send any pics that I take from my camera. Im using Vodafone australia and Ive gone to their website and retrieved the network settings and configured my device hence I can receive them just fine but just cant send.I dont get no error it seems to go ok but none of my friends say theyve gotten them. At first I thought cause its a 8megapixel camera the attachment might be too big, the pics are about 1mb. I remember my last phone I always had to compress the image to about 600kb to send it. Anyway I changed the resolution of my camera to the lowest setting and the pic was 24kb but they still didnt get that mms. I dont get it, what gives?
I've noticed this on some phones, try a different sms app such as go sms. It might work better as if I recall correctly it has some additional mms settings such as message size and includes workarounds for some known mms problems.

Hoi,
did your check your settings for mms-server and mms-port in your settings ?
Otherwise post them, so we can find out where the problem is.

try to active/unactive 3G, sometimes it's fixed for me.
As for sending MMS I use app called Handcent. Try it, it is free (and for me the best solution for SMS and MMS)
I am having the same problem. I can receive pics but I can't send them.
I have US T-mobile and here are my APN settings:
APN: epc.tmobile.com
Proxy: Not Set
Port: Not Set
Username: Not Set
Password: Not Set
Server: Not Set
MMSC: (ht)(tp)://mms(dot)msg(dot)eng(dot)t-mobile(dot)com/mms/wapenc <-(I cant post links but you get it.)
MMS Proxy: Not Set
MMS Port: Not Set
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication type: Not Set
APN type: Not set
Also I've tried a couple other messaging apps like gosms and handcent. But they didn't help.
Do you have mobile data services switched ON? Even when I am on Wifi Network, I have to switch my 2G/3G ON to send MMS.
Hello. I just received my Nokia Lumia 920 yesterday. It is an International factory-unlocked version (920.1). It's not a dev phone or a Rogers unlocked phone. I cut my mini SIM to a micro SIM, put it in and it was working great (had to soft reset first though)! I do not have a data plan so I'm not worried about EDGE speeds. However, MMS messages are not being sent. Here is what I have tried to do to resolve this:
I went to Mobile Network. Data is off since I don't have any, highest speed is 3G (does this even matter, though, since I don't have data? Or will it affect my calls/messages?). Network Selection is on automatic. Then I went to Access Point. I pressed add. This is what I filled in:
Name: T-Mobile USA
Data Type: Default
Everything under the category Internet APN is blank
MMS Access Point Name: MMS
Username and Password are blank
Proxy address: 216.155.165.50
Port: 8080
MMSC address: can't post URLs... so I'm not sure how to let you guys know what I have here. I basically searched T-Mobile US MMS APN settings and used the MMSC address that was listed on almost every result.
Network type: IPv6 (I don't know what this is; the other options are IPv4 and IPv4v6)
There is no place where I can put the MMS APN (epc .tmobile .com). When I added this access point and enabled it, then did a soft reset, my MMS messages still won't send. Does anyone know how to fix this, or is it just not possible to send MMS messages from an unlocked Lumia 920 on T-Mobile USA? Thank you!
