I am having trouble sending a picture message through MMS. I installed this - http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=59412 - Arcsoft MMS. It now allows me to insert the pictures in my message, but when I go to send it it says:
"In order to send/download MM messages, the current active connection may be closed (this may affect other applications in use. Do you want to continue?" so I hit menu > yes.
Then is says:
Message delivery failed. Or Message receipt failed.
I am running NFSFANs Rom 111

who is your carrier what/who's version of arcsoft did u install. did you check your settings?
Service: Alltel which is now Verizon
Version: SPRINT Arcsoft MMS 5.0.70.24. Threading MMS works! (Updated 3-2-09)
Cabs: Sprint Arcsoft MMS 5.0.70.24.cab and Sprint Arcsoft MMS 5.0.70.24-pm.cab
Neither version would work with my service, I have Alltel and the rls says Sprint, so that may be my problem. All I want to do is send picture messages. My phone can do almost anything I want but it can't send a picture message that my old Nokia from 3 years ago could do?
Thnx for the help btw
P.S. another odd bug with that Arcsoft program is when I go to check my emails and hit "Mark All as Read" it opens the Arcsoft settings...wierd...
ok so go to your inbox then press menu/mms options(may say pics and video options)/servers/alltel. if alltel isnt there just click on the default. if alltel is there and not the default-set it to default and delete others. then open the default. here is your settings.
server name: Alltel MMSC
Gateway: mms.alltel.com
port:8080 (try 8080 first if it doesnt work try just 80)
server address: http://mms.alltel.com/servlets/mms
connect via: the internet
send limit: i have mine set 100k currently
if you dont care to use an older arcsoft just install this it should work right from the get go. im pretty sure its calkulins. ive used it 4ever.
any chance you can get this app to work with the TELUS network?
That would be great if it worked for Telus...

I very rarely use MMS on my Himalaya, but I still like the feature to be there in case someone else sends me one. I recently received such a message from a friend, and was unable to download it. I am using O2 UK.
Now in the past, I have managed to send and receive MMS on the device, and have not since changed any settings relating to the service. However, when I now open the new MMS and click on the 'Download' button, the device connects to the WAP network, the 'MMS Receiving' icon appears at the top of the screen, and then promptly disappears. The message does not download, and simply allows me to press the 'Download' button again.
Have O2 changed the MMS service in some way during the past few months that would prevent me from receiving messages? I can still send them without problems, but receiving is another matter entirely.
I have tried reinstalling ArcSoft MMS, and reconfiguring the MMS server settings, but nothing I do seems to help.
Does anyone have any ideas, as I'm going crazy trying to figure this out...
Just for reference, here are my settings.

Can anybody here give me the mms settings for smart network?
tnx in advance
As far as I know the Wallaby doesn't support MMS, but I could be wrong or you could find some third party software to support it, but out of the box it doesn't.
Regards,
Neil.

Let me know if you already got your mms working on your wallaby. I have mine working using EZWAP and manually configuring Smart's IP address. I'll post the settings here if you need them. Happy new year!

YES MORPH751 pls do help me with the settings, and where can I get ezwap, tnx in a million
Get EZWAP here:
http://www.ccsleeds.co.uk/stuff/ezwap25xda.zip
Thanks to Pete K for the link.
Download and install EZWAP to your wallaby. You need to configure the settings first before MMS and GPRS could work.
As for the settings I'll post them here tomorrow, I documented the procedure and settings (after trial and error) but it's in my home PC. Hope it works for you.
tnx a lot

I think it's the same procedure for Globe. You just need to get Globe's IP address and DNS server addresses. Unfortunately, I don't have Globe's settings. You can probably inquire in Globe centers or it may be available at their website. Hope you enjoy your MMS!
just go to the ftp site check previous posts.. if you need a copy of the cab files (containing mms settings for both smart and globe.. pati sun) just post yer email address and i'll send them to ya.. the wallaby can send and receive mms.. you just need to download the right cab files... im using arcsoft mms composer version 1.6.0.14 and it works perfectly...

HELP on MMS Diamond
I'm sure since it's all Windows the settings are either the same or similar right?
I have a diamond, and every time i receive a MMS picture i get charged 10 pesos for GPRS internet connection. Called smart, they said Receiving MMS is free and it is my phone that has a problem. They think that the MMS triggers something, a program maybe, that connects to the GPRS every time i receive MMS pictures.
THey said they cannot fix my phone since they do not carry distribute HTC.
What do i do? Any ideas please
I'm using HTC Fuze here in the Philippines. I just used the NetworkWizard.cab I downloaded. Run it, reboot, and everything works.
Since yesterday Sprint Arcsoft MMS hack has stopped working. It was working as of Sunday night. I have one MOGUL with ROM 2.17 and aother with GPS ROM 3.16 and both have the same issue.
I think its wide spread and was wondering if anyone else is also having same issue... any fix known of?
which version of the app are you using? i havent had any issues with it since installing it.
Currently I have the SprintMMS.cab that I got awhile back from PPCGEEKS. Its been working up until Monday.
The version showing is "MMS Composer version 3.0.6.22". I have tried the full server address "http://mms.sprintpcs.com/servlets/mms" and the updated one which uses the IP address instead "http://63.215.195.152/servlets/mms".
Any ideas??
i am using the secondary servers you posted and i have no issues...port is 80...wap2...connect via "the internet"?
I am trying different connection settings to see if thats the issue at hand. Just odd that others that I know whom have Moguls with same SprintMMS.CAB cannot send picture mail also.
Did you have the same version as I do? Same .cab?
yeah same version

I'm having the same issue, but I figured it was a glitch in the new ROM.
I have dcd's new rom and when I try to send a pic says it exceeds the 1k limit. I installed the cab for mms size limit on ppcgeeks but still doesn't work. What do I have to do to increase it?

Makes no sense then. What kind of device do you have? Also can you post the .cab your using?
Mine was working just fine and bam stopped. Wife has Mogul with 2.17 HTC ROM and her stopped working as well. I have 2 other Mogul friends and theirs also stopped working. I was able to send MMS just fine with 3.16 GPS ROM. So i know its no the ROM... atleast I wouldnt say it is.
pitcture mail
I have a touch with that cab and mine does not work either. A friend of mine has a mogul with it and they are saying the same thing you all are saying.
my sprint touch also fails 2 send pic mail..
Guys I think this is a bigger / global issue we are now seeing and dealing with. As we can see its not ROM related. What suxs is that Sprint has yet to come out with a valid MMS thus having us to hack this functionality.
Even the cheapest of the cheapest phones on sprint have MMS.. Sprint needs to get its act together..
For now I keep searching and trying...
Does anyone know if the MMS is not working for all of its sprint users or just the ppc's?
Just tried with NON ppc and it worked correctly. Sent to another non ppc. WOuld not sent to my mogul.
Update. Got error on other phone... not available. suspended application.
Anybody got there mms working in 3.16 yet? I just re-installed and I got nothing.
Just to add to the confirmation, mine stopped working at least as of yesterday (1/28/08), that was the most recent I tried, and it did work over the weekend.

Alltels new rom enabled picture messaging on my phone, but I'm not to happy with the rom.
I would like to go back to dcd's 6.1 rom but I would like to keep my picture messaging.
I thought I saw something where someone extracted all the added **** from Alltels rom, yet I cannot find it.

There has been quite a bit said about it. So far, i'm not positive if any Alltel user has gotten MMS to work. One of the threads is here and there are several other at the beginning of DCD's "Cooked Roms" thread or at the beginning of this 3.0.4 thread..i can't remember.

All you need to do is install fresh with newest kitchen and dont check the arcsoft part. do not install that. then go to lennysh.com and install the arcsoft for alltell and you will be fine. I have ****ed with my phone as far as i can go and i have always had picture messagin. I have the newest arcsoft installed and my mms works flawlessly. I even can send over 300k limits.

How did you get arcsoft 5.0.31.7(newest) to work on alltel? Lennys version(the one I have..and only one I know about 3.0.26.12c ) isnt 5.0.31.7. So I was wondering what version you have that allows you to send over 300k? Not trying to doubt you and all but just very interested.
the newest version. i dont know why it does send over that limit. if i create a mms video or picture and hit send threw mms it loads it into the mms and will allow me to send. but sometimes if i manually put it in it says it over the 300k limit dunno if its a glitch or what.

Can you supply the cab on lennys you used? thanks
i used the arcsoft from the actual website the lennysh one is like ending in .12c
Can you supply the link or cab for it?
FWIW I simply installed the 3.xxx cab from lenny's on top of the included version and it all appears to work. probably not a recommended practice, but if my phone explodes i'll be back to whine.

Try importing this into the registry, soft reset and test. If not then I would run sprite backup or spb backup and hard reset and just install the Arcsoft and see if it works. It should work without any configurations.

Try Alltel.net instead of .com everywhere you see .com. This is what worked for me to get MMS working on my Alltell PPC 6800.
Alright,
I've exhausted most of the suggestions found on the internet so I'm asking for help on this one more (last hopefully) time...
I can not send MMS... I receive the ""Originator address not found" error...
I've checked the MMS options (arcsoft):
Server Name: Verizon Wireless
Gateway: *Blank
Port Number: 80
Server Address: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms
Connect Via: Verizon Wireless (Matches the connection name under systems\connections)
Send Limit: 500K
I have confirmed the contents of the WSPheader registry but ... here they are... maybe I'm missing something:
Accept: application/vnc.wap.multipart.related
Accept-Charset: us-ascii,utf-8,iso-10646-usc-2,ISO-8859-1
Accept-Language: en
User-Agent: utstar6850
X-VzW-MDN: 1+MDN (ex. 12223334444)
x-wap-profile: http://uaprof.vtext.com/utstar/6850/utstar6850.xml
That is the entire contents of the HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\Arcsoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader key.
If I need to post any further data or info... please let me know... I know its just MMS, but for some reason if something should work and it doesn't I can't rest until I get it working....
Could it be a VzW provisioning issue? This line has never used MMS before as it is a new line. How would I go about asking VzW to confirm that the phone has been setup properly in the MMS servers?
PS: I'm using the leaked VzW TP ROM.... with Arcsoft MMS 5.0.68.46 built in...
Thanks for any help,
Little correction
In the X-VzW-MDN string, try removing the 1 before your mobile number. I know on my 6800, with the custom rom loaded to it, I had to continually go in and re-enter all that data, and in that field on my device it was always x-VzW-MDN=937*****52 (hence without the +1)
Try that, let me know the scoop....
Nathan
I can't either.....thought it was just me. I get "Message Delivery failed or message reciept failed" .Hopefully the above solution works.
Ok... so Verizon is annoying
After three calls to customer service asking them to check the MMS provisioning server for my phone number the CS rep said "Strange, it shows your number as having this feature but it isn't activated." Which could mean one of many things including the two prior people doing something wrong etc...
Anyway they fixed it by dropped and readding the feature and everything works.
Thanks for all the help!
