Hey,
I have seen a few threads discussing folks upgrading to the Widcomm BT stack. They all look like a nightmare with frozen machines, unsuccessful registry hacks and hard resets.
Has anyone out there actually upgraded to the Widcomm Rom successfully and if so, could you either post the executable with clear instrutctions on how to install or point me to an existing topic that clearly describes the process?
I am running Pocket PC 2003 SE with the following configuration:
ROM 2.06.00WWE
Radio: 1.18
ExtROM: Sin.AU.v3.5
I am trying to overcome the headset/handfree problem regarding my XDA II and my Jabra 250,
Thanks,
Danny
A very good question, i'm waiting for a solution, too.
Thanks @ all...

Hi All,
I upgraded my QTEK2020 to T-Mobile 1.60.00WWE. Everything normal except with radio on (radio vers. 1.06.01) sync hangs up and when i use contacts it usually hangs too...
What is the best upgrade available?
Anyone can help me? :?:
Thanks
MMoura
The latest radio stack is 1.10.00 and included in all new o2 (and i-mate) upgrades. I suggest that you take this radio stack 'cause I did not experience that kind of problems yet.
Think it should be possible to use that radio stack for qtek as well but I think that there is already an upgrade for qtek containing the latest radio stack. Maybe you should check with your provider first...
How specifically do you take parts and pieces from a ROM upgrade, or in the case of this thread the Radio Stack?
I have an MDA II, with 1.60. I did not upgrade to the 1.60.36, because I did not really hear positive things about it and my device is working quite well.
I would however like to improve the Radio Stack independent of upgrading the ROM Ext.
How do I do this?
Ed
hi, is a bit of time that i don't read xda-developers pages...
[OT]
however... i've discovered a thing... by now the wm2003se it's not good for qtek2020 (and i don't wanna it )
i've tried some 2003se roms, but i think that 2003se is not good for operate...
all PPC software looks ugly (most of the famous software is not yes updated for 2003se)
and i don't really need landscape view
[/OT]
so... a more important thing for me is the bluetooth stack!
today i've done an hard reset (flashing rom for exactness).. and i've to re-hack bluetooth stack another time
there is a way to "slipstream" widcomm stack in the 172WWE or in the more recent versions ?
--------- edit: ----------
probably i found the answer alone.. i can edit nk.nbf file for slipstream widcomm file inside the 172752WWE version...
i only need the password (i've already searched the forum :? )
and... i need also an hint... someone has hints for a good extended rom ? (with password  )...mm not customized ones.. just qtek ones
bye, waiting replies
i'm hearing a little faerie that says: "the nk.nbf rom can't be edited!!"
is the faerie says right?
After many months of trying, I have finally managed to get my imate to recognise and work with my Nokia CK-7W handfree kit.
Neither 2.02 or 2.06 Windows 2003 SE would work, I was a bit worried about trying the 2.20 version but it works... and there appears to be no difference ie chinese charaters.
All I need to get to work now is the Blackberry functionallity.

That's very interesting! Which upgrade file(s) did you use? There are so many at this moment, can you share the instructionplan in brief? And have you encountered problems with the 2.20 CHS upgrade.
grtz, Cookiem
did someone try boardcom or widcomm on WM2005 (Magneto), i tried them but they don't work, can someone tell me how to change the BT STACK on 2005?
no body tried a BT STACK for 2005
hiy
you're asking like u've tried broadcomm or widcomm on wm2003?
isn't it?
please help me if you have broadcomm for wm2003 n ofcourse if it is working fine with wm2003 on xda2..
n mayb forward to me the files...n some instructions!
as i know it works fine in 2003 but am asking if it works in 2005 :?
Hi,
I am also very inteersted to know about this, i love broadcomm on my other device running 2003se translated chinees.
if anybody has installed widcomm or broadcomm please advise us how to do that?
Thanks
Hi,
Anyboy tried this?
Tried it. Doesn't work. In fact, I managed to lose my bluetooth because neither of the stacks would start, due to memory issues.
Mercifully, my i-mate ran out of battery life and hard reset.
maybe we will wait for Buzz to come in & get his heads around it
or for them (broadcom) to release a bluetooth stack which support 2005
get it as cab file and use that
thats how it was don with the stack for 2003
Hi all,
I have been wandering around looking for different posts in this forum, but I haven't found what I am looking for.
I've tried 2.06 and 2.20 ROMs. And definitely, I prefer the 2.06 one.
Good. So keep it, you must say.
The problem is that my car kit has handsfree profile, and no headset profile. I succeed in using it with 2.20 ROM.
So my question is :
is there a ROM somewhere which is a 2.06 ROM with the BT from 2.20 ?
Or same question but another way of saying it : is there a 2.06 supporting handsfree profile ?
Thanks a lot in advance for your answers.
Regards
Blg
where did you see such rom?
the newest i'm aware of is 2.03 beta by TofClock
The 2.20 ROM is a CHS ROM, translated from chinese.
The 2.06 is a WWE ROM, very widespread. Strange you haven't heard about.
I have finally solved my problem : the 2.02.t1 is very similar to the 2.06 and has the handsfree profile. I have noticed a slight problem in this ROM : the HP is cut when the screen goes off. Disturbing when you use the phone a long time...
Could you post link to this ROM?
Are you sure it's Himalaya ROM?
yes I am sure that 2.20 is for Himalaya, I have installed it on my 2.20.
But I have erased it from my HD since it doesn't fullfil my needs....
I am going to see if I can get it again.
But onestly, it is very unstable. I don't recommend it....
Was it AKU 2.2 version?
look at this topic :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=39938&highlight=2+20
they are talking about the 2.20
LOL, i was talking about WM5
OK, I understood
WM2005 doesn't work well on Himalaya, I haven't ever tried it on Himalaya ! WM2003SE works well on himalay, it is sufficient for me.
WM2005 works ok on Himalaya, but slightly slower
