cuz i have Jus Downloaded WM2k5_XDA2_HIMALAYA_O2_FullRAM.rar file frm the FTP will do right ?please Reply soon..cuz i need to ungrade it soon

No, it's ok you don't have to install the Radio file at all!

I would like to upgrade my Radio ROM to 1.17. 00. (this is the highest ROM version that is available). What the best way to JUST upgrade the Radio ROM?
This there anything that I must be aware of in doing this?

i have upgraded my ppc from wm 2003 to wm 2003se.....
to wm2005 it was tiring
but it sure is the BEST to use

i noticed tat my friend who has a XDA 2 had alota cool stuff in his xda, but he told me tat he juz installed the rom from here n hadent installed any other stuff... so i was wonderin if i sorta 'upgrade' my xda2i wif the latest xda2 rom? only thing im curious of is if the wifi connection will hav problems, n where can i download the latest rom?

Hmmm....Now let me get this clear.....U have an XDAIIi,and ur friend have an XDAII.....now u saw ur friends phone(with all those cool stuff),and now u want to WALK BACKWARDS???!!!!!! :shock:
Now back to the subject,i think,besides that it's impossible to put a Himalaya ROM in an Alpine device(wich u do not need at all),all the cool stuff u saw in ur friend's XDAII were softwares install(wich u can also install).....and the fact that he just upgraded from here when his phone got full of utilities,makes me beleive that all he did was installing one of those cooked EXT ROM u can find in here(most probably toenailed,xda2jojo and sin merged.....it's one of the best :wink: )....
So my friend,as a conclusion,u can have ur friend's cool stuff only by installing softwares,or even making ur own EXT ROM....read the wiki to learn more.... :wink:

Hello every body .. look i guess am all new to the pocket pc's stuff ... and i really need an upgrade to my PPC ... its actually running on WM3 .. and i need to upgrade it to WM5 !! i really need somebody to tell me the right way to do so ...
i saw different ways ... but i just dont knw what do ... frankly am kind of afraid to take a step ... Plzz Help me ...
and btw i've downloaded the WM5 rom ... its on my pc nw .. i just dont knw what to do with it ... and whats the safest way to Upgrade ...
and 1 last thing .. can i restore to WM3 once again if i didnt like the WM5 ?

In each ROM you download there should be a text file readme giving you instructions on what to do. Basicaly, put the device in bootloader mode, connect to Active Sync and run the ROM Upgrade Utility included with the image. Based on my own experience it will take about 30-45 minutes from start to finish.
Lots of ROMs to try for tthe Himalaya, try them all and see which one you like the best.
Latest WM2003 ROM from the O2 Ireland site can be found here.
Just remember that a new ROM will totally wipe your Himalaya so make sur eyou have anything important backed up first.
