Hello every body .. look i guess am all new to the pocket pc's stuff ... and i really need an upgrade to my PPC ... its actually running on WM3 .. and i need to upgrade it to WM5 !! i really need somebody to tell me the right way to do so ...
i saw different ways ... but i just dont knw what do ... frankly am kind of afraid to take a step ... Plzz Help me ...
and btw i've downloaded the WM5 rom ... its on my pc nw .. i just dont knw what to do with it ... and whats the safest way to Upgrade ...
and 1 last thing .. can i restore to WM3 once again if i didnt like the WM5 ?

In each ROM you download there should be a text file readme giving you instructions on what to do. Basicaly, put the device in bootloader mode, connect to Active Sync and run the ROM Upgrade Utility included with the image. Based on my own experience it will take about 30-45 minutes from start to finish.
Lots of ROMs to try for tthe Himalaya, try them all and see which one you like the best.
Latest WM2003 ROM from the O2 Ireland site can be found here.
Just remember that a new ROM will totally wipe your Himalaya so make sur eyou have anything important backed up first.

this is my 1st post and i'll try not to make it messy
i have an imate pocket pc ( i'm not sure what do u call it )
with windows 2003 , 1.72 loader version
i got it from the gulf area so there were no ( providers , or country codes ) on it
few days back i heard about the windows 2005 mobile version and wanted to try it
i went to an arabic forum who were discriptive about the steps , unfortunetly it didn't work for me , after i finished the update 1st time it looked great , but needed to downgrade because my skyscape didn't work
i finished the downgrade , but guys the wm2005 was tempting , so i tried upgrading again, unfortunetly again , after it finishes updating and ask me for hard reset , the blue screen stucks up even without back light , a moment later the blue light flashes and nothing goes anywhere from there.
can u help me with this problem

Why don't you have a look at buzzdev.net and find for some answers there. Buzz is specialized in WM2005 for XDA2.

I have problem that only wizard love rom is installed on my phone which is imate k-jam kind of g4.

it would help if you said what language and country you are in then people might be able to help. Simply saying you want the original rom for your wizard isnt going to get you much advice all available original roms are here

I have my own phone’s original rom which is K-JAM_Arabic_2160901_21609102_20710_ship.exe. I installed it before. Now I have problem that I installed hardspl in the phone and then I removed hardspl by teaching How to Remove Hardspl. I want to install original rom but it shows error (296: upgrade only). It is installed only wizard love rom in my phone. Please be kind enough to conduct me how to install original rom.

hi yall this rom is ultimate i really mean great ,,,,,ok 1st i was busy flashing my phone and my son took the cable out in a panic i went and reset it ,no joy , hard reset ,no joy ,,,froze on second boot screen oh btw got wiza 200 g4 locked so i couldnt do that sd flash thing ,i tried all the roms i had ,actually it do it flash finish but after reboot freeze on 2nd boot screen ,,,so finally i downloaded THE LOVE ROM flash the phone and after reboot ,the fone booted up as per normal with no probleme ,,,,SO TO THE CHEF OF THE LOVE ROM

I have htc p3400 and i tried one time before to install windows mobile 6.0 or 6.1 (Step by Step) with "Krazy" Thread.. it was stuck on (Smart Mobility) black screen but i can go to bootloader by pressing hold on camera with power, then i install something for unstuck or i don't know exactly then it's just stop the phone and when i power on (Red and green led is lighting once) even i tried to hard reset with many times and many ways "NOTHING". i already go to agency and ask them to fix it.. it's already fixed now but i really boring again with WM5.. i want WM 6.0 or later while i ask them but they really said we have only this one as standard and sure there no upgrade for this model.
*(sure what i did is wrong maybe and really i respect Krazy and how he explain all thing) it's great

Read the tutorial again....
and perform each each step carefully as sometime there is no going back.
Also check whether u have a new gene or old one using the date method

I really unlock my phone before and the spl is change to something like (0.07)..as i read in the step by step thread.. but wich rom is best for me.. what's the best for unlock.. cus u know there's many threads here and really i'm confused as each one is preffered his rom and his copy.. so just i need to learn more from trusted friend like you to tell me HOW, WHO and WHICH? ..

The choice of ROM depends on your taste
Some prefer to use clean ROMs which offers more free RAM
on the other hand some prefer ROMs with better GUI and apps which will offer less free RAM.
In my opinion u should go and check all the available ROMs (thanks to ROM cookers) and find what u want, like what applications u need (u use) etc.

i find my answers by my owen experiment :-
i had upgrade my device successfully from original wm5 to original wm6
the answers :-
1- nope u dont need to unlock ur cid if u r using htc x7500 device "not dopod or aemo"

2-nope u dont have to do anything if u ur device is locked...
but if ur device is unlocked be aware that ur spl is 1.2 or less...
if u have 3.5 spl .. then u gatta downgrade to 1.2 .... see this

3- yup its upgrade ur radio from 1.47 "like mine before" to 1.50
