 HELLO ALL!
Its 4am i said id be asleep by midnight...
Ive flashed 3 roms and am well passed the unlocking phase...
Ive Fully updated my radio stack ( i think )
Currently it states i have radio version : A.20.10
AND
Ive had the "special cooked rom"
And the ppc 2003 se from http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/
but ive seen in the forums that A.20.17 ENG was a VERY current ROM
When i loaded the A.20.17 rom i seem to get better reseption and smoother operation... but i really want ppc 2003 (i think) because it supports the newer programs....
The rom date of ppc 2003 of off the site stated above has a date of some time in early 2002 and the A.20.17 rom has a date of 05/15/03
so A.20.10technicaly is a newer rom CORRECT or NOT? does anyone have a link for a newer ppc 2003 rom?
Here are all (known by me) Roms listed with Date saved in the ROM.....

Stefan

True and false.
You can use every serial gps reciever. Some have already a connection cable for the Wallaby, and for some other you have to manufactor your own...

G'day all,
Just new to this sort of stuff and have done a lot of reading but its just not sinking in
I would like to upgrade my wallaby to WM 2003, gone in and cooked a rom but not sure what i have to do install it without stuffin my Xda .
Do i just open it do i have to delete anything or change any settings before i open it??
I dont even know if i was doing the right thing(when in the kitchen) or if the the 3.04.00 eng Microsoft is the right one :?
the only things i added to it was the spb gprs monitor and the spb pocket plus is this all ok if not can some one put one up that i can download?
Thanks for any help in advance
Maury
P.s i am good at something R/C helicopters so if i can help anyone there pm me
IF you want to use the Wallaby daily for Phoning, working, .... i wouldn't use the WM 2003 SE (3.04.00) ROM, but would use the 4.01.12 ROM.
Updating should go easy with just opening the exe. There are a view ROMs that prohibits flashing via EXE-File.....
If you want to go one step more secure, you could do a hard reset before flashing. Than no other programm will cause any problem installing the new ROM, but the Securest way of flashing is in my opinion flashing via SD-Card....

And sorry to sound so silly but is flashing when you put a new rom on
Thanks again
Maury

See my post, it's for WM5 but you can read the topic!
bootloader version
Thanks for the reply, its not the splash screen but the bootloader version i need to change and be able to upgrade at will.
According to the Wiki, the latest shipped WWE unbranded rom is 1.18.255.106, and my phone has the .108, so I just uploaded the upgrade package for that ROM (which I got from the support site (one of two here in Finland)) to the upload section of the ftp, in case someone wants it.
This version is for the "Finland and the Baltics" area, and the phone itself has the Scandinavian keyboard layout.
- Pud.0
Thanks for the shipped rom, it is exactly the same ROM version 1.18.255.3 and the same radio version 1.03.03.10, the only change is on the shipped Extended ROM version from 1.18.255.106 to 1.18.255.108.
I've updated the wiki and moved the file to safe heaven:

All roms are 'branded', also the HTC TyTN rom is branded by HTC.
Acording to the info *now* on the wiki (it will change on the future), the newest ROM is Cingular 1.34.502.1, which is dated 2006-09-21. This ROM has radio version 1.16.00.00, but the i-mate ROM dated 2006-09-08 has a newer radio version 1.20.31.10 which has been extracted so you can flash it separately if you want it on your device. The latest AKU build for the Hermes is on Cingular's ROM 1.31.502.1 which shows OS Build 14989.2.6.0, this means this is an AKU 2.6 while all the other available ROMs have AKU 2.3.
To remove the operator branding and have an 'unbranded' rom you just need to softreset before the ExtROM is installed after the device is hard-reseted.
You can install Cingular's 1.34 or 1.31 ROM (depending if you prefere AKU 2.3 or AKU 2.6) with I-mate 1.20 radio and HTC 1.18.255.106 ExtROM which will add HTC's tytn branding to your phone. This should be "the latest" rom now.

I successfully downgraded, CID unlocked and then upgraded to swap from Swedish to English, this worked like a CHARM!!
BUT!! The keyboard hacks does NOT seem to work,, heeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!!
@Pof's quote below
"To remove the operator branding and have an 'unbranded' rom you just need to softreset before the ExtROM is installed after the device is hard-reseted."
is this mean -
that i need to do first is perform the Soft reset after i have completed or successful flash a ROM from the WIKI shiped ROM list,
then make the unhide ExtRom, then remove the ExtRom operator brand, from the Extended Rom folder, then install the "unbranded" ExtRom (execute the unbrand CAB file), then the last step is do the Hard reset.
please advice.
I have just received my new HTC Hermes: rom - 1.18.257.2
radio 1.03.03.10
protocol version 32.34.7010.01H
ext rom 1.18.257.9620
windows 5.1.195 (build 14955.2.30)
Not sym locked
Its in German , I would like to change the language to English and upgrade all of the above to the latest software (will be suing phone 98% of time in UK)
can anyone please help me. I have read the forums but the roms seem to be older than mine and I cant find an English one that is newer
Any help much appreciated..
Thank you

I believe you can just put it into bootloader mode and flash the WM6 Dopod ROM. A friend of mine did this recently.
i hv just done it. i did not encounter any major problem except after flashing it with the official ROM, the storage memory is very low ....

yes it is safe... but you need an activesync partner ship setup to installl HardSPL as it needs to push SSPL to your device... for more information read www.mrvanx.org

I activesync connected and run RUUWraper.exe
I go through all the selection right and on the last page after I click "next" I press yes on my Softbank. but the flash download didn't started and the Softbank reset and go into the engineering mode where I still see :

Hi guys I need to downgrade for warranty reasons (Vibrate stopped working)
I have been looking through mrvanx guide and it mentions
"SPL 1.04 (includes IPL 1.00) SPL 1.06 (includes IPL 1.01)"
The thing is my SPL was 1.04 and IPL 1.01 which seems to be a mix of the above !
my Radio version 1.05.05.00 but this is also not on the wiki.
Here are my phone details before
IPL-1.01
SPL-1.04
Rom version 1.21.110.3
Rom date 06/19/06
Radio version 1.05.05.00
protocol version 32.36.7010.04H
Will I need to get the exact same radio and rom version with rom date
or you think its possible they will over look these details aslong as WM5 and an early radio rom is flashed?
Thanks for any advice, Chris.
I really doubt that they would catch it as long as you have wm5. But, if they do, then just play dumb or try another store.
Thanks, I'll try that is there any risks when downgrading or uninstall HardSPL v7 ?
Once my phone had SPL 1.04 on it (after downgrading via MrVanx's method), I flashed the official rom from my carrier, and it returned me to the factory settings. One note, my phone is super CID.
The only T Mobile WM5 rom I can see is the Hungarian one in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=287338
will this one be ok for t mobile uk ?
The one from hungary is the only t-mob WM5 i know of. You can also search for a dumped one and reconstruct it.
one note: do not flash radio with htc_boot less than 0107 or you'll brick it, as for your signature you have htc_boot 0108 now.

Thanks for the advice I will deffentley do alot of reading before I downgrade.
So htc_boot less than 0107, does that mean 0107 are ok nothing lower or stick with htc_boot 0108 ?
I have no idea how to reconstruct a dumped rom so ill have to flash the hungay one.
0107 is ok, but nothing lower. To reconstruct a dumped rom, read the wiki
