Can I add BLUETOOTH to an XDA? - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me. This may be a silly question.
I just purchased an XDA. Can I add a bluetooth application to the XDA, enabling it to have bluetooth capabilities?
Kind Regards

No, XDA (Wallaby) does not have a SDIO slot. It only has a SD slot, which can only accept SD cards and nothing else. Therefore, it cannot work with a SDIO enabled bluetooth card.
If you look for bluetooth headset for your XDA, you have to get an audio adapter first, then the bluetooth audio adapter. This is because the Wallaby/XDA does not have a standard/common audio pin layout. Most bluetooth audio adapter in the market such as those from jabra will not work with the Wallaby/XDA if plugged directly. In the past, Jabra has a specific adapter to be used with XDA type/PPC device, but it has been discontinued.
I will not recommend this solution either as its very costly to get: audio adapter, bluetooth adapter, and finally bluetooth headset.

is it possible to add BLUETOOTH to a XDA???
Thanks for the quick response

Bluetooth headphone adapter for the Wizard?

I'm not sure if what I want is available, but here we go anyway
I've got a Wizard (naturally), and what I'd like to do is get a bluetooth headset adapter that allows me to plug my own headphones into it (I have some really smart headphones which I prefer to the usual "over the ear" style you tend to see in bluetooth headphones) so I can listen to MP3s from the Wizard over a bluetooth connection. BUT, I'd also like to be able to use this imaginary adapter with my own headphones plugged into it as an ordinary headset when I recieve a call (which would mean the adapter would need a mic and a button).
So, here are my questions:
A) Is the Wizard capable of doing this?
B) Does such an adapter exist?
C) Would Media Player on the Wizard be able to send the music over bluetooth, or would I require another music player?
D) Is there a problem with this setup that I haven't thought of?
E) If such a device does exist, can anyone recommend one?
I think I may have found something like this, but details are sketchy. Take a look: http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=125691
Thanks for your advice.
1. currently I have MDA with X's 2.24 ROM, which has a2dp already, yes, you can connect it DIRECTLY
2. a2dp analog audio adaptor is available, but it's bundled with a2dp headphones, I recommend plantronics 590a, the analog audio adaptor is compatible with ANY a2dp clients with passcode 0000
3. yes, as well as TCPMP and GSPlayer
4. the setup is easy, just make sure your Wizard has a2dp support included, it use some amount of CPU for audio-transcoding
5. see #2
I recommend S38 or R35 to avoid the jack dongle, you can use it directly on you wizard, you can install tornado a2dp addon if your wizard doesn't have one, I have R35, works perfectly with my MDA

[Q] HDMI video out but with Bluetooth audio?

Hi all,
Does anyone know how to route the audio to a Bluetooth device when the HDMI cable/connector is plugged in, as opposed to the audio going to whatever is plugged in at the end of the HDMI cable.
TIA

Just got my HDMI connector and I want to play the video through it, but the audio through my Bluetooth speakers. It does not seem to allow me to do this. Even though I connect the Bluetooth speakers, all audio comes through the tinny speakers on my monitor.
Has anyone managed to get Bluetooth audio working when connected with the HDMI adaptor?
In the app, SoundAbout, I can use HDMI video with audio output to the Phone speaker and headphones. The only problem is when connecting HDMI, the phone seems to disable the Bluetooth adapter.
I am guessing this is done so that the audio will go through HDMI. They don't ever expect you to use HDMI video with Bluetooth A2DP audio.
I am also trying to do the same. The only solution that I came up with was to route the TV's audio output to a Bluetooth transmitter which will send the audio to the Bluetooth speakers. I haven't yet tried that solution to comment on the audio quality or its sync with the movie.
you can check out the transmitter at amazon, search: "TaoTronics Wireless Portable Bluetooth Stereo Music Transmitter"

[Q] Nook tablet as wireless audio player

Currently running cm7. Did some searches, so my NT has WiFi but no Bluetooth, no power to USB so no micro USB dongle.
Stereo bluetooth dongle possible but bulky and requires separate charging.
WiFi speakers possible but can't find any.
Use app to controll another android using WiFi but requires second device.
I would love to be able to use the nt as wireless audio player.
Any ideas anyone?
You might check out the MediaHouse UPnP/DLNA app in the Play Store. Is this the capability you're looking for?
interesting but not exactly
My plan was to use the NT as a remote control for the livivg room audio. Where the audio is stored is not a problem (SD card or network is fine). The simple solution would be some Bluetooth speakers and play using the NT doing most of the work however no Bluetooth on NT makes this hard. I have cats who like chewing cables so stereo HiFi inst great, a rechargeable WiFi speaker would be awesome but all wireless speakers seem to be Bluetooth
I might look into the dongle idea, not USB but 3.5mm audio to Bluetooth dongle, its bulky but probably simplest.

[Q] Experimental car handsfree set, how to connect external microphone to my SGS2

I am making my own car handsfree set. I have connected MiniJack in SGS2 to to my car radio wich has aux, so I can hear someone speaking along with some internet radio ect, cool. Now I have no idea how to connect external microphone to my SGS2 and use it wheen someone calls all that without opening my phone....
I did read somewhere there is adapter, this adapter is connected to SGS2 MiniJack input. But in my case, I am already using MiniJack so it will not work. I think the only way would be to buy Bluetooth microphone and install special application wich could set my phone to use external bluetooth microphone and phone via miniJack wheen someone calls.
What app could do that ?,
Meaby I am wrong,
Meaby there is easier way ?
Hoping for som solution....
Thanks
anyone ?

[Q]: Bluetooth OBD2 & headset simultaneously

Hello everybody
Please apologize if this question might have been answered already. However, I haven't found a thread that dealing with this exact question.
I was wondering if anybody ever had a OBD2 Bluetooth dongle and headset connected at the same time. Is this possible?
I'm planning to use an OBD2 Bluetooth dongle together with Torque Pro to retrieve engine data on my HTC one. At the same time I don't want to sacrifice my car's Bluetooth headset, also connected to my HTC one.
So while displaying the engine details I still want to be able to answer calls using my headset.
Has anybody ever dealt with such a scenario? Did it work?
Thanks very much any hint and / or info!
[SOLVED] [Q]: Bluetooth OBD2 & headset simultaneously
To whoever it may concern, I was able to have both Bluetooth devices connected simultaneously, the car's hands-free and OBD2 dongle. Could even listen to music on my device through Bluetooth.
HTC ONE with Android 4.2.2
BMW Hands-Free Bluetooth integration
OBD2 Bluetooth dongle used with Torque Pro
Hope this helps people with similar concerns.
