XDA tool dump rom problem?

i use xda os image tool to dump the rom from my Mio336 pda
when 13 seconds left, i got a dialog window:
ITReadProcessMemory: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.
Reading osimage: The operation completed successfully.
and i got a 27.1MB .nb1 file.
the dump is OK or NOT?
why this caused?
it is quite possible that a mio336 has very different memory offsets.
osimagetool was written specifically for the xda.
you should try pmemdump
from itsutils
and try the memory scanning option to see what is in the memory,
and figure out where the rom is.
"very different memory offsets" means what?
i really don't know how to use pmemdump....sigh.
why the activesync automatically disconnect and the xdatools always hung at 13seconds left? Any Possibility the Mio336 itself has problems reading rom?
for the xda the rom is at the memory location 0x80000000-0x82000000.
it is possible that your phone crashes because those memory locations are invalid in your phone.
and reading from them causes a crash.

any help will be more than welcome
Hi rickyjune,
Welcome to xda-developers and congrats on getting an XDA. hopefully you won't be dissapointed. I can't help you with EZWAP but as far as cooking your own ROMS, it's quite easy and rarely goes wrong... if you use the SD Card method. There are numerous posts about this in the forum so I'll let you look them up. But briefly,
* Cook your ROM but choose the SD Card method, not the Program A. You can also cook the 2003 PPC version and it will work on XDA
* Get yourself an SD Card [minimum 32MB but as big a you can afford]
* Get yourself an SD Card reader, so your computer can read/write the card.
* Search for Jeffs tools for copying the SD ROM version onto an SD card.
* Use this tool to copy the ROM onto the SD Card. Don't use Windows explorer, it won't work.
* Put the SD Card into your XDA and go into bootloader mode and follow the instructions
It is worth the extra hassle, trust me.
Note: You will loose everything on your XDA by updating your ROm or just by going into bootloader mode [I think]

EZWAP 2.5 is so complex for just MMS ... better to try MMS Composer 1.6.12 or higher ... it's more simple in setup and more efficient
I presume you are using an O2 email account. I had a similar problem until I realised that it can take about fifteen minutes or so for your O2 email session to time out, if you haven’t logged out properly.
i.e. if you are reading your O2 mail on your desktop, and just close it down using the X button, then you are still logged in on the server. When you then try to get your mail on your handheld, it’s as though you are trying to begin a second session on the same user id and so the password screen keeps appearing.
If you need to alternate between devices rapidly, make sure you log out properly each time.

please help me.. Connection ERROR!!!!

hi
I have downloaded the wm2003se from lumpinstefan and i could change the rom of my pocket pc to that version by using ActiveSync.
Now i downloaded another version of the rom and i tried to install it on my Qtek 1010 (Wallaby) and it in the black window on my computer appears:
"ERROR: GetConnectionType - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the rem
ote host.
error getting connectiontype"
When i press the next button in the setup it says " cannot execute the remote communication prgram. please make sure that USB/Serial is properly connected". and the setup shuts down.
i Need You to know that before the new rom i downloaded from lumpistefan i was using pocket pc 2002 on my pocket pc.
Now it's clear that there is some problems in the connection. i tried it on several computers but i faced the same problem. is there any setting on my pocket pc to change??
Please somebody helps me i really need to know how to solve the problem.
Regards, and thank you.
Try searching the forum.
It´s an old problem copncerning to some T-Mobile ROMs
You have to flash your device via SD-Card....
Try also some looking in the wiki. The process how to flash vi SD-Card is there described...
And please do not post multiple threads with the same topic....

ROM Upgrade communication error
Yeah I am having the same problem after installing the T-Mobile ROM, the same communication error when I try and change the installed ROM Image.
I did think it was something wrong with ActiveSync or my laptop
Has anyone got any hints on how to do this on a Wannaby? (Saves me getting the wrong idea whilst reading through reams of text).
Many Thanks

Hmm doesnt work for me. I am selecting the browse button to select the nbf file from the image and in the second drop down box selecting the sd card. When I press copy it comes up with the error ITWriteSDCard: The media is write protected, error opening target device. The card isnt locked as I can read and write files to it using explorer. Whats going on?!?!
Growing frustration!!!

Some internal SD-Card Writer make problems. i Think you can use also the SD-Card-Slot in your devuce, or you have to get an external Writer...

I keep getting this error whenever I try to open a couple applications, like Navizon, HTC Home Customizer, MS Live Search, and a lot more (but googlemaps and a few work just fine). Anyways I flashed to a DCD 3.0.1 rom I cooked... I added a few apps from the titan kitchen by copying the OEM folders into the DCD OEM folder and it all went pretty fine....
has anyone ever encountered these errors? I think I'm gonna have to cook a clean rom with just the basics and have to install everything one by one again unless someone knows what to do..
I had the exact same problem.
you didn't include the .NET framework in your build.
re-cook with that option selected, and those apps will work.

im using dcd 3.0.1 kitchen, i dont even see it listed as an option and i thought it was already built in anyway
Did this ever get resolved? I am having the same issue with Garmin and I know I have .net installed
if you are installing to a memory card, try installing to main memory... that worked for me with MusicID
Bump having this issue helpplease
trying to install or try some different Radio cabs I keep getting this error few other programs as well fairly new so I am pretty confused. oh this is is on My Kaiser Tilt though was hoping not to have to start a whole new thread.
getting the same error message
i keep getting the following error message
"The file 'xx' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."
every time i do a soft reset all my installed programs get like this, and i have to reinstall them for them to work. This only happens to the applications i've installed on my own, not the ones that come with the phone.
if there is anyone out there who has a solution, please let me know.

SOLUTION!!!
Most of the cases this is not a CERTIFICATE problem-
if you go to your file explorer and look for the PROGRAM FILES directory you will be surprise -
actually this happens when you install cabs on the storage card - those apps write temp files all the time - so when you take out your SD card - those apps continue writing this temp files -
in the bottom line = go to your device and rename the FOLDER storage card to storage old -
now you will see the icon for your SD CARD next to the name STORAGE CARD 2-
the last thing is to remove the SD CARD an re insert it again - now you will see that it return to its original name (STORAGE CARD) .
enjoy
Thank you mate, same problem here solved with your help
uZardWebP
I m not able to rename the storage card to storage old pls help and i m getting the same error message with uzard web browser.
