syncing a Palm T3 to an O2 Atom - iPAQ rw6828, XDA Atom Software Upgrading

I have an O2 Atom and a Palm T3. Now I like to use both as there are many apps on the T3 that are not avalable for the O2. However I would like to ensure that their contact and tasks database is the same.

Sync both to the same pc and the info would be shared over

TRUE XDA PPC2002 SYNC WITH OUTLOOK2002

Looks like this is common problem: I am heavy user of Siemens SX56 PPC2002 (a.k.a XDA, a.k.a T-Mobile MDA). In Outlook 2002, Contacts folder in Outlook contains subfolders - to structure big (more than 3000 items) number of contacts. The same story with Inbox and Notes. ActiveSync v.3.7.1 synchronizes only top level of all folders – thus I miss biggest part of the needed data. Ok, I could manage Inbox – manually select every subfolder in ActiveSync settings, but nothing can be done with Contacts and Notes. I do not want to have mess in Contacts by copying all of it in one flat folder.
If somebody aware of the solution – please let me know.
Thats a hard one to do, but take a look at the below programs.
Outlook 2002 Add-in: Pocket Contact Synchronizer 1.2

For Notes you might want to take a look at HPC Notes its what I use:

Hi Qman,
BIG thanks for your help. Somehow or other your recommendations help to resolve all my questions.
=Outlook 2002 Add-in: Pocket Contact Synchronizer 1.2
Good but stupid – do not syncs in both ways, simply dumps all your contact folders to one place for sync. What it means is that when you change the contact details in you device (and you’d definitely do it) it would be synced with that ‘dump place’ and would be lost after next dumping... I still look for the soft like HPC Notes but for Contacts...
HPC Notes
Superb, cannot say anything bad – it add to the notes functionality I need!!!
Amazingly, why neither M$ not 3rd party developers do not create real pocket outlook which, at least, would follow the same BD structure, to have all vital info in sync and handy????
I do believe that hundreds of heavy users would buy it...
best regards, Andrey
Great!

Later,
Hello !
Please try mNotes from CommonTime if you use Lotus Notes, it's an excellent program which never failes, with this you can add all your subfolders and have them syncronized as you like with different settings.

Patrik,
I’m Outlook user, thus Lotus Notes is not a solution now. Thanks anyway.
Qman,
Big Daddy (Pocket-On-Schedule 5) looks rather ancient This is the most complete pocket replica of Outlook DB and seems that sync is bi-directional, but, again, several cons.:
- Hierarchical folders structure in Outlook translated to flat structure in Device. I.e. does not mater what level of depth folder was – it becomes level-1 folder. At least there is no need for Outlook Pocket Contact Synchronizer.
- Program interface is awful: I wish I had functionality and interface friendliness of Pocket Informant and DB structure of Pocket-On-Schedule. In addition, DB is different from standard pocket outlook, thus, cannot be used by any other application (e.g. Pocket Informant).
- Moreover, pity that software not developing further.
Now, best solution I see is combination of:
- Outlook Pocket Contact Synchronizer 1.2 - to grab all contacts
- Pocket Informant – to manage contacts
- HPC Notes – for notes
and last, tell me one thing does M$ in PPC2003 changed this situation? I see that sooner or later somebody would develop software I dream about.
I've the same problem !!! it's incredible that there is NOT an easy solution... Palm OS as at least two... and very simple...
however, I found that intellisync http://www.intellisync.com/palmce_trial_dldml.html is very easy and usefull, but it does not manage notes...
I've found Companion Syncronize http://www.companionlink.com/products.htm which could be a solution, but I'm not able to run it...
Other suggestion?

Example GPRS / Mobile applications

Dpoes anyone know of any case studies or example applications which use a PDA with GPRS connection to a server database?
I have a project to to this, and need ideas. Not limited to the XDA, may also look at palm but need to find a good reason to do so
Ta,
Zx10rider
Avantgo is the first obvious choice.
Check out their various wireless sync options.
Also check out:
imov (instant message client)
PpcNews (news client)
Pocket Feed (RSS/RDF news aggregator)
Pocket Blog (extends your weblog to any Pocket PC device)
Try DA-Systems & select info on their Nexus product.
This is a field service tool for couriers, providing job data out, updates, courier status update inc signature capture, SatNav (TomTom), GPS reporting over GPRS etc. All reports back & is integrated with the DA-Systems back office product, allowing the office to know the exact current position and current job status of all their couriers.

Need NTP sync software for Hermes

Hi.
Does anyone know about a good time sync Software for Windows Mobile?
it is a pluss if it supports both PPC and Smartphone.
I use SynchroTime with my hermes, with no problem, but I don't know how the application will behave in a smartphone.
It's made by Dennis Grachov, and its homepage is http://gsoft.fromru.com
It's a quite good NTP client, it takes time zones and daylight savins into account, and it's also quite simple, so there's not much more to ask for in an NTP client.
Cheers

Mobile Outlook Add-ins

Hi All,
I need some decent add-ins for outlook mobile. The limitations of this program baffle me! Does anyone know where I could get some decent add-ins that would allow me to flag messages etc. or is there a different email manager you recommend?
Ta
Which OS are you using? WM5 or WM6? In WM6, Pocket Outlook does a lot more...
WM6 . . . but it doesnt seem to have` much added functionality?
I've been looking for how to flag my outlook emails and it says it's now supported in WM6 and I've even found sites with screenshots showing a 'Follow-up' option that when you select a email appears in the menu.
However I don't see it in my menu and the best reason I can come up with is that it requires the Exchange Server be running the 2007 version and I think my office is still running 2003.
Can anyone confirm, Exchange 2007 is a requirement to be able to see the Follow-up > Flag options appear in our menu?

Click to collapse
Hi. Yes.. I'm using Exchange 2007 and you can flag messages in your inbox for follow up (but you can't set any reminders - only flag the message).
You can also view your e-mail in HTML format.
Andy
Since I upgraded to WM6 I am not using it anymore but FLEXMAIL 2007 might be able to help you out? Link: http://www.pocketinformant.com/products_info.php?p_id=mail&dir=wm
Ditto that for FlexMail 2007 - works great for me

[Q] Japan Softbank mail on WM 6.5

I have a TP2 that has Build 28244.5.3.10 & a HD2 with the exact same OS build. I can send & receive Japanese Softbank Text mail & Attached file mail with no problem on my TP2, But I can not on the HD2. I found that if I install dot net framework, Zgemdo Softbank MMS, & flinx1 Japanese IME. It works great on the TP2. But when I do the same on my HD2 it does not seem to even try to communicate to Softbank`s server. I know these are different phones but is there maybe a way to clone the settings? Thanks!
I found a different rom that would except the Softbank mail software. All is working great.
