My atom is turned off. Can't even go to bootloader mode, or do hard reset - no any response
Last resort: Take out the battery and leave it out for a while, and then put it in again. It may work.
Already did, left it for all night, but nothing. Maybe it has some another engenier menu?

Did you get a resolution? Facing the same issue. Happened on holiday when I tried to do a soft reset. Completely out of ideas on how to resolve...... Help
i am having the exactly same problem
is there any senior can help us
I got the same problem but with my gigabyte gsmart i300
I've had the similar problem with my old XDA 2. The problem was then that when I'd gone to soft reset, the pin had somehow jammed in. Thus, the phone would continually reset and would appear blank. So check that on yours, make sure that the reset pin is actually coming back out.
I have the exact same problem when upgrading XDA II... When I upgrade the Windows Mobile I mistakenly plug off the connection while it still installing.. Then the screen goes black blank.. waht I do after that is connect again the XDA to the craddle.. and do the installation progress again.. It works for me back then.. But my other friends who have the same problem does not that lucky and his XDA II just goes blank.. I've already check the see02.com...
and this is how they solve the problem:
Should the installation process be interrupted or terminated abnormally, you might encounter the following screen on your device.
http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l221/rusadi/XdaAtomROM_Jan2006_Step9a.jpg
and you may also see the following screen in your PC.
http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l221/rusadi/XdaAtomROM_Jan2006_Step9b.jpg
When this happens, restart your PC and ensure all other running applications stopped. After that, restart your device and connect the device to your PC with USB cable. The following screen should appear.

Repeat the installation procedures except that ActiveSync will be shown as Not Connected.

 my device O2 xda died on me yesterday. I was performing the upgrade recommanded on myxda.com. Program A went alright and created a connection with my PC. Program B missed things up. The device showed a message on the phone interface saying"Wireless is not connected, please switch on wireless. I did not know how to do that and I entered my SIM PIN but didn't work. The device fooze and didn't respond to any thing. I did soft reset. again the same message and the device foze. I did a hard reset and it got worse. The device opens on the O2 screen (blue page) then switched to a blank white screen with the keyboard icon at the lower right hand corner and this has been the case since yesterday.
I can't establish connection to my PC and try to reinstall the Programs A&B again cause I did the hard reset and the device is limp. Please anyone help those who are in the lower end of the Technology ladder.
thanks you in advance

I haven't had this problem but the symptom sounds the same as yours.
Maybe here
I had the same I think.

My XDAII died horribly when trying to downgrade from wm2005 to wm2003se (it is stuck in bootloader, i've tried everything, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=21848&highlight=).
I have had to buy a new device and went for an Ipaq h6340 but its RUBBISH compared to my beloved xdaII. I am desperate to get the xdaII working again with any rom version at all.
Can anyone suggest anything at all?
Are you facing 'Country ID error' too? If you do, get urself a copy of er2003edit.. If not, would you mind giving more details how this error occured? Maybe I can help..
There follows a detailed account of my xda problems...
1. The xda is stuck in bootloader mode, the screen shows "Serial v1.01" in black text even after all (button pressing combinations of) hard resets.
2. When placed in the (mains powered, usb connected) cradle the screen shows "USB v1.01".
3. On running Himaupgradeut, and clicking next, i get the "checking the pocket pc..." message, after 30 seconds the XDA II turns itself off.
4. The confirmation screen appears on the PC after another 20 seconds or so with the upgrade and cancel buttons. No current device versions are displayed. As the xda has powered itself off the upgrade does not work.
5. On removing the xda from the cradle the xda shows "Serial v1.01" in black text on a red line background.
6. On replacing the xda in the cradle the xda shows "USB v1.01" in black text on a red line background. Retrying the upgrade procedure produces the same results.
I have also tried upgrading/flashing from the SD Card but get the error message ROM image is wrong size. I get no other error messages.
I am not an expert, but I just recover my dead XDA II device last night. Maybe you needed to take care the following items. That I have over look.
1. Connect directly to the USB port and don't use USB hub.
2. Hard reset each time before upgrade again.
3. Make sure that Windows can detect the device as "Microsoft Sync......". In the web some people say it is not a must. But I found that I can upgrade my device only when the device is successfully detected.
Before successful recover the dead device. I always got communicate problem to Pocket PC.
Hopes my experience can help.
Hi Cojones, had exactly the same problem.
Follow the instructions from the previous poster (tscshk), not through usb hub, etc direct on motherboard. I also removed the usb connection, reset my PC, so it cleared all activesync/usb settings, device on the cradle, THEN connect to usb.
If you see the 'found new hardware/device...' dialog etc, then it should work. (mine did, twice! can't resist playing)
Also I downloaded the original Roms direct from the O2 site and used those to get back to 'standard'.
HTH
ah, thanks for your help everyone. I managed to get hold of an upgrade that didn't check country id and that did the trick. I now have my cherished xdaII back...hooray.
So here's a peculiar incident:
I have a CDMA TP with a stock ROM and a few basic apps I gathered from these forums and others. I've had it for less than a week.
Tonite, I went to check my text messages. Suddenly, the screen went black and the phone stopped responding. After pressing the power button and fiddling with the keys, I pulled out the stylus and did a soft reset. No response. Confused by this, I tried again, but still nothing. I removed the battery, and turned the phone back on. It froze at the "Touch Pro" screen with the rom/radio/etc info at the bottom. After repeating this a few times I decided to do a hard reset. So, I turn the device on and perform the hard reset. By this point the TP is only turning on SOME TIMES, and I have to take the battery out and put it back in often just to get it to start successfully. So, I finally get the device to boot up and it starts to configure WinMo. Suddenly, while configuring, it freezes. Now I try to turn it back on, and nothing happens.
Basically the device is stuck like this, shifting between not turning on at all and turning on but freezing at the "Touch Pro" screen.
So, my question is, what the heck is going on here? Has anyone else had this problem, or does this sound familiar to anyone? Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated.
p.s. Yes, the battery is fully charged.

Time to take it in and get a new one.....
Same problem here phone started b not coming out of lock mode. Backlight is on but no display on screen (if i tilt the screen left and right i can see light coming from behind) did about 6 hard resets and still same problem. also power button works whenever it wants to. this phone sucks @ss, i want my mogul back. on a second note my replacement will be here on wednesday.
Touch Pro stock rom purchased back in nov when it came out
yeah, i've had the same problem, i found if i hit my phone on the back or side and then batter pull and hit the soft reset while off, not the power button to turn it back on, it comes back on with color on the screen not just blank black screen with backlight, this works mostly every time, but when it doesn't, i just hold the power button down and do battery pull and hit the power button and it works, its like its got a combo of things you have to do before it works.. weird
Boot Up
I have also had similar problems. I for some reason sometimes have to remove my SD card and boot up without it for some reason. Not all the time, but every once in a blue moon. Not too sure how that affects anything, but you may try that too.
well i started a thread here ***help*** because i kinda have the same problem.
i downloaded some cabs, nothing fancy but i had some problems with a theme i downloaded. when i went to deleted i couldnt..... to make a story short, i took it to the sprint store where they tried to do a master reset/ hard reset and it wont take it. it wont do a thing... they say some important files are missing...
the phone works but not the way it should... the time on the home screen wont show up. and some other small things...
dont know how this happened but i would like to know... im worried about new programs to the phone now. ( getting a new one)

Have you tried re flashing the ROM?
it wasnt HTC's fault for your phone's not booting...thats what happens when u try to mess with the hardware too much and you dont know what your doing
Would you want to sell???
Reboot Brick HTC process
****DOn't take battery out after hard boot***
1.just watch videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sk56olMkCtU and do what they do but dont take battery out. LEAVE phone STUCK on BOOT screen. Nothign else will move or work but you want phone just like that.
2. connect usb cable to active sync. (this may not link up but leave usb connected anyhow) Do not delete phone profile.
3.use rom like Download MightyROM6_Herman.exe avail at: http://www.lilrico.com/Mighty/mightyromblog/?p=454
4 although active sync is still attatched but may not be connecting. It will connect thru usb anyway when you run the rom software. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fV2I2WAFkg4&NR=1
This worked and kept phone from cutting on and off. and restored ROM. don't know about original htc boot. but your phone will work under this rom for now and you can go from there.
hey thanks plain ole dumb, it works now.
man I thought it was over.
thanks again
My phone displays the icon in the attached picture (when i shut it down).
It does not start-up, only from the recovery mode (with restart option).
The battery life dropped from 3 days to 12hours suddenly (once with this problem)
I notice that this problem appear from the day when i found my phone in the pocket unlocked, and a lot of app's were opened.
A messege "MTP connected" appears sometimes (without connect something)...
I made factory reset and a restore from a time when it was ok, and nothing.
What could be the problem?
Known issue. Clean the USB port and try a factory reset. If it doesn't work change the battery or bring it to a service center.
I tried with a new battery and same problem, i clean the usb port on the phone and nothing.... i mention that are some moments when it's working fine... (in most of times when the battery is on low level).

Looks like it got hot and you have a hardware problem that you can't do anything about except for sending it in for servicing
Problem resolved, it was the electronic board from the bottom of the phone (the one with usb in and mic) and some tranzistors... very few services repairs in detail this phone, lot of services told me that i need to replace all motherboard..
But the important thing is that the phone runs smoothly
hi! i have found similar threads, but they did not help me solve the problem, so here i am, writing a new one sorry guys. also sorry for my bad english, it is not my primary language..
i have an htc desire X which has a damage only on the outside display, the touch screen worked perfectly. then, all of the sudden the phone kept restarting, freezing for few seconds on the HTC welcome screen, then turning off again. it did that for about few hours then died completely, battery wouldn't charge either. on charge, red light on, no sign of life.
i have bought a new battery, and the phone turned on and did the same again, restarting every few seconds. i have pushed the low volume button + start combination, to have it go to the bootloader menu. since then it is frozen on that menu, stuck there. no buttons would work. they do work to get to the menu, but on bootloader not anymore.
i am a newbie, i dont know what to do, except for the fact that i have all contacts still in the internal storage and i was hoping to save them to an external disk/pc/microsd.
when i restarted the phone, the sim and the microsd were already out.
connecting the usb cable to the pc doesnt bring me anywhere either, my pc says "device not recognized" then it doesnt see any device.
please help me to get my data out somehow:crying:
little update:
this morning the "smart"-phone is not stuck anymore, i was able to get to the bootloader and select recovery, BUT unfortunately any attempt to push the on button to confirm it went wrong, phone keeps just restarting or freezes again on HTC welcome screen. any idea?
