Thanx. 2nd question...How good is it charging batteries?? What is your experience?
Spare battery charger
Sorry but I dont have one yet. I've been thinking of getting it but right now the mda stock battery is sufficient. If you do get one, please let me know how it is. Thanks
Clem
Do you have any spare battery chargers? Say from an SMT5600?? It's the same charger. Just compare the specs on the back of the chargers-they'll tell you wether of not it's the same(compatible).
I just got a 8125 (Cingular) last week. So did my son-in-law. He got a car charger at the Cingular store. I figured I could charge anytime with the included charger so I didn't need to get a spare one. What made MORE sense to me was a second battery. A spare batt was cheaper then the Cingular charger and offered much more flex.
Final Solution - I got both! This deal I'm going to list on ebay was a combo package and cheaper then then what I expected to pay for just a batt. See link on ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=35158&item=120035867275
Status - Just got it tonight - Plugged it in, the PDA/Phone all connected and responded as expected through the USB port. Placed the battery behind the holder in the back spot to charge it at the same time and after a couple of hours, the red LED changed to green - battery charged. Seems to work well.
I'll update later with detailed operating experience. But this on the ebay transaction. The other link in the thread looks identical but they appear to be different companies. The one I dealt with wil get nothing but praise from me. Why - Quick Ship, Notified me of everything along the way, Packaged great. I say this all because I ordered something else the day before I ordered this item and haven't heard a thing yet. Not the same service by far...

Where do we buy an extra battery for the HTC TyTN? (or Dopod, O2 Hermes...)
It is really frustrating that HTC doesnt seem to market any of these...
TyTN extra batteries are available

or here http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=138243&asource=HTC_TYTN_VP
wow prices are arounr $50-60 + shipping, pretty steep. I think i will hold out for a while
TyTN battery available on eBay now
http://cgi.ebay.com/Replacement-Bat...ryZ75446QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I bought the extra battery from eXpansys. Be advised that this is a slightly different battery than the one that came with your TyTN:
Stock battery: HERM161, 1350 mA
Replacement battery: HERM160, 1300 mA
I can't honestly say if I've seen a difference between the two batteries, but you should be aware of the difference!

A final word to the wise on buying the eXpansys spare:

The text description says it's a 1350 mA battery, but if you zoom in on the picture, you'll see that it's actually a 1300 mA HERM160 battery... and that's what they sent me!

goestoeleven,
I ordered mine a few days ago and it will probably be the same battery. Does it work well on the TyTN and how did you get it charged?
Thanks.
I can only charge one battery at a time (the one inside the phone)...
Hence my rant on the thread about Cradles without extra battery slots...

I got my battery but it has been more than 24 hours and the red light is still on for charging. How long did it take for you? Thanks.
Initially I just charged it for a few hours. It behaved exactly the same as the original stock battery.
It's my second battery and I still cannot get it to charge -- the red light is on for days whether I try AC power or hooked into the PC via USB.
The battery cannot be bad so it must be my HTC TyTN. Any ideas what I need to look at in the battery comparment?
Thanks.

This red red light no charge business not just with TyTn batteries but several other phones and different battery types. Usually occurs with a problem with feedback from cells in battery to the charging circuit. Most oftgen there is no real fault with either battery or phone. It normally occurs if the battery is allowed to completely discharge. I am not aware of an easy fix, except I have faced the problem myself and with original battery. Also had it with another LG phone. On these occasions I got them to work eventually by several times plugging and unplugging charger lead and also taking battery out of phone for ten minutes then reinserting worked once. All a bit hap hazard but they always worked eventually and once going worked fine after that.
Good luck
Mike
Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on Sony's new battery packs/USB chargers? I've got one of their older smaller 2000mah capacity ones (here) but am looking at getting a larger one to keep in my bag to charge up my various USB devices on the go.

There's a few different capacities available.
7000mah CPF2LS
3500mah CPF1LS
4000mah CPA2LS
Anyone had any experiences with the new charger battery packs? My 2000mah is good but takes ages to recharge for some reason. Also wont fully charge my Z Ultra - I used to use it on my HTC One X. I know there are cheaper alternatives out there but I dont trust a lot of them as I think they falsely claim certain capacities. At least with the Sony ones you'd expect they really do have the advertised capacities.
I have the one in the picture you posted (7000 mAh). That's my review on the Amazon page you linked to (the long one). So far I haven't had to use it just a whole lot--I've never used its entire capacity in one charge cycle before, as I'm pretty conscientious about keeping my things charged --but it seems to be at least close to the advertised capacity. There's a little light on it that blinks between one and three times to roughly indicate the unit's remaining charge, with three times being "good" charge. I did one time use it to add about 30% to the Z Ultra's battery, and it was still blinking three times, if that means anything. If you want, maybe I'll use it exclusively to charge my stuff for a day or two and let you know how long it lasts.

Thanks for the detailed review on Amazon Any idea what the recharging time is like on this when it is completely flat? I'm guessing if it is 7000mah then it should be able to charge the Xperia Z Ultra at least twice from flat which is pretty good when travelling or just heavily using it. Also good to hear that it outputs 2.1A for faster charging. I'm pretty sure the standard Sony wall charge only outputs 1.5A which means the battery pack should actually charge the phone much quicker. Most other brand phone wall chargers are typically only 1A - it's generally only if you buy a tablet that you get 1.5A-2A wall chargers.
The Sony battery doesn't come with a wall charger does it?
No, I don't recall it coming with an AC adapter. I don't think it outputs 2.1 A unless you're charging two things simultaneously, but it charges fairly quickly. If you're not using it, I'd estimate it would charge the Z Ultra from 0 in about 2.5 hours or so. Maybe a little longer.
Yep, bought a battery from eBay for my S2 and I cannot use it, cannot charge it, nothing. It came with 50% charge, tried to charge it overnight, but since the phone "thinks" there isn't a battery conected it will only drain it but not charge it, not via USB, not with orignal wall charger, not with Sony external CyberEnergy battery.
So the pressing question is, since I don't live in the US and my original battery is way beyond unusable (it's become fat, any CPU intense activity will shut off the phone), can you purchase original, useable, new Samsung batteries online?
Thanks.

I haven't heard of Samsung selling direct or a good place to purchase original batteries. However, I know of some really good batteries that are not cheaply made and will hold a full charge. Therefore, you wouldn't have any issues like the battery you purchased from eBay. They are Mugen batteries and I would be happy to send you the link.
Yeah of course. A Google search (I just did one & found several; you might need to order from a different country & pay whatever shipping costs though) should reveal plenty of places online that still sell genuine Samsung I9100 batteries (not Samsung though, they don't sell them direct).

I found those too! Are they only higher capacity? Believe it or not, I'd rather keep the slim profile of my phone for now. I'll perform a much thorough Google search at home tonight.
If you have that link, I'd be most thankful. Some sites are restricted at work, and strangely enough, Mugen batteries is one of those.
Thank you!

Don't want to sound *****y, but that is exactly what I don't want to do AGAIN. Just because someone writes "Original" or "Genuine" on the item's description isn't, sadly, enough for me anymore. I've got a very succesful eBay purchasing history because I do my homework.
In this particular case, I knew I was taking a risk buying from eBay, I had read that several buyers have (possibly unaware of that, since they buy bulk) copycat batteries. Since my phone isn't new and it's rooted, I figured I'd run said risk, maybe a rooted phone does not perform such a thorough battery ID. I was wrong. Live and learn.
Having learned my lesson, I don't mind paying a higher shipping cost, but making sure I will receive a battery my phone will accept and a battery that won'd damage it in the long run.

Its 4500mah and appears thinner. Heard good things about Brando who have been around for a while.

Just an FYI.* I finally got the battery, touch slow for postage. Took about 3 weeks.
Anyway build quality on first impressions seems good, nice finish.*
Doesn’t have a strong click but nevertheless does connect the phone nice and secure.
I got the cover without a front flip section.
I used to have a galaxy so this phone is heavier by comparison but I’m used to the extra weight now however have to admit, this does make it a fair bit heavier.
Button on the case for charging is easy to use.
My drawback is the website clearly says data support is available but when I checked with the seller, they confirmed this isn’t the case and will be amending the website shortly.
If you can get passed the weight issue and increased bulkiness its overall pretty good just without data sync

@Haldi4803
I have tested the battery, over all I concur that it is built well for the price (I got it for ~$20). However there are a few issues:
- The real battery capacity is approximately 75-80% of the Z2's battery. It charges the Z2 to about 80% total from full to empty so the capacity is more like 2600 mAh.
- The input and output currents are lower than what the Z2 can charge. It can charge at 0.8A and discharge at 1A which is not terrible but does take significantly more time (50% longer) compared to charging the Z2 normally.
I'm happy with the purchase due to the convenience of being able to charge the phone untethered whenever I want to prolong the built-in battery life. Usually I snap the battery in when I need to charge and take it off to charge it separately afterwards.
thx for the answers.
that seems logical you cant charge a 3000mAh battery with another 3000mAh to 100%, you will lose something inbetween.
Lucky i don't really use my phone much, so i get 3-4 days with low usage and the normal battery ^^
I'm extremely happy with my purchase price. I complained because their site clearly says data sync supported but it's not. They offered 30%. I advised still nothappy because site misleading so they gave me full refund and let me keep the product so for free it's fantastic lol.

Hello, what about charging this case?
On brando.com ist that you must charge case and phone separately.
On some Chinese pages is that you can charge case connected to phone - phone will be charge first and than case.
Got the 4500mAh version now, why? Because it's supposed to charge the device at 1A

The case has a button so whilst your phone may always be connected it doesnt mean its using the case power so it never charges both at the same time. When you connect the charge cable to the case it will charge the case if its turned on or charge the phone when the case is turned off
Hello everybody!
I have the following problem. Some time ago I hadinterruptions during the charging process. This has become noticeable that in between the screen was flashing up and the lightning symbol as it normally is when its charging was not on the battery symbol. This problem has been getting worse to the point that the device has only loaded temporarily. So almost by luck. Sometimtes it didnt work for hours and then it charged the whole evening. I even had the feeling that it has charged, even though my phone has not shown. The battery capacity increased after few hours. The end was that the phone no longer charged at all. Then I ordered a new charging socket and installed it. Since then everything works fine and I was satisfied.
Today, however, to be exact half an hour ago, I had that bad feeling again. The screen flashed up and the charging interrupted. It was now three times. What's going on here? I hope that it does not become worse. I ordered a new battery on the internet before all these problems came up, which was touted as original. Before changing the charging socket I have tried this with both batteries. Same problem. The power adapter was able to charge the phone of a friend of mine but not my phone.
Does anybody have an idea and can help me? Thanks alot!
Same here mate, now it stop charging completely... Have you found any solution? Tried replacing the charging port, but I was told that it is the motherboard...
If anyone have any idea would be helpful. Thanks!

I have same problem. Phone seems to charge well till 80-90% then, charging interrupts. Before my warranty has finished, I have contacted with Samsung. They advised to restore phone to factory setting, what I did. Nothing helped. I have changed chargers ofc for original one, bought new battery, luck of improvement... What is more I have noticed that my phone consumes battery a way faster than before – I have to plug phone every 6-8h with 3g, GPS and BT on. When I use google maps in my car in spite the fact phone is connected to charger (2A Samsung original one!) phone runs down slowly :/ I am rly disappointed with this phone… Guys did you find solution?
I have two of these phones, and both have developed charging issues after a year or two. I bought two OEM batteries to replace, and still does not help.
Tried various chargers, various cables. Intermittent charging at first, then nothing. 2 bricks.

May be the problem 's in the connection between MicroUSB port and mainboard. I suggest you supply 5V to 2 pin and waitting for full battery. If this solution working, buying wireless charging Pad .
