And it said 'Error" please re run the upgrade, but verything is workine fine and the device show I have rado 1.16?? Any ideas?
I thought I read in the upgrade writeup that the error display was normal. I guess if your phone works, I'd not worry about it...
yes, it is "normal" and it is written on the upgrade instructions as well.
Radio 1.16 flash info
If you run the Radio 1.16 upgrade correctly, you'll see the 1.16 version listed in Device Information on your mobile.
The key is to go into bootloader mode first, next connect to usb, & then run the upgrade progy. The flash will take about 20 minutes. It will indicate an error, but after the flash is completed. If you got an error before the flash, then you didn't get the upgrade.
how do you update just the radio for tytn, i thought you could only update the full rom image and not pieces of it like the radio???
Read the wiki:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtractedRadioRoms
my upgrade fails after about 4 min. and the radio is not upgraded (1.13 signular) to1.16 Cingular).
I would be interested to know how many can upgrade successfully.
If you are on radio 1.13 cingular, means you're using cingular rom 1.31 with bootloader 1.06, for this radio upgrades to work you need bootloader 1.04.

Hi. I ve upgraded to radio 1.16. My provider is Movistar. Now i only get gprs speed althought i am connected with umts. Is this normal?
I am geting UMTS speeds with Movistar (prepaid card) in Barcelona, but no HSDPA. Where are you located?
In Madrid...Now reflashing dopod version. Here there isnt hsdpa speed althought Movistar say it is activated so now i am moving to vodafone....
I did move from Amena to Voda in august for the same reason
Good luck!
What about your feelings with vodafone hsdpa?
Is not as good as I expected initially... I have decent speed at work, in downtown (~700kbps) and icon shows and 4 coverage bars.
But at home (eixample area), I have and 3-4 coverage bars and I am only getting UMTS speed (~300kbps).
Maximum I have seen is (~1100kbps) in Fira de Barcelona, the place where it was 3GSM last year.
For the tests I use the following pages:
http://www.bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/
http://www.dslreports.com/mspeed
Usually dslreports shows the truth, and bandwidthplace reports a little bit more than the reality.
BTW, I haven't noticed any speed or coverage improvements after the 1.16 radio upgrade, only that it is faster switching on and off the flight mode to switch SIMs (I use the dual sim adaptor), and probably that I hear a bit louder than before the other party when I am on a call.

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gents,
I am experiencing severe lousy reception with my XDA1.
Its quite surprising when im even outside all i get is one bar at all and still i experience call drops or jitter on the line during conversations
My Service provider is Rogers Wireless in Canada
My Device Information is:
ROM Version:4:01.00 ENG
ROM Date: 10/27/03
Radio Version: A.20.10
Protocal Version: 324e4
Is the best way sort out this proble is to upgrade the radio stack and how will i be able to do this.
Any help will be deeply appreciated
Regards,
Jeremy
Are you sure you have the right model for your provider?
There is a 900/1900 and a 900/1800 model of the XDA.
You can modify the 900/1900 to run at 1800, but with lousy reception. So maybe that's your problem.
Yes i do have the right model for my provider im using the 900/1900 currently my service provider uses 1900 band
Could it be the radio stack are my above specs fine or old
If your device is PW10B1 and ur using 1900 MHz and ur suing TMO 4.01.00 ROM, why don't you use RSU 6.25.02 ?
Note: RSU upgrade is the most risky action ... be extreamly careful.
Yes my device is the PW10B1 and I am using T-mobiles 4.01.00 ROM, how can i obtain the RSU6.25.02 radio stack and what is the safe process to upgrade this component.
You can find it here ... unzip the file, and copy the contents (4 files) to the \windows\startup directory and perform a soft reset.
Should I carry out a back up for precaution or should I procede with the upgrade
"better safe then sorry"
Just carried the upgrade and placed the files in my windows\startup menu actioned out the re-boot when i go to device information it still tells me my radio stack is still: A.20.10 is that right or the upgrade was not succesful
the correct directory is \windows\startup NOT \windows\startup menu
I have copied the files to the right destination folder when i do the reboot I ger errors
1: Cannot find RSU Upgrade
2: Cannot find RSUUpgrade.cp64
3: cannot find_ul_bs
then it launches into an exutable menu saying upgrading wireless device then it freezes there and returns to my start up screen I now have no connection or phone reception help please
How come you get such an error if you copied the whole 4 files ? ... It sounds like there is a copy error. Anyway, if it doesn't work, remove the 4 files and perform a hard reset .. it should be back to the old RSU.
I have managed to role back to my last known configuration but im still perplexed why it did not work any suggestions anyone
reception with Rogers.
When I bought my TMOBILE I was in LA. I moved to BC for work but got no support from TMOBILE so I upgraded to the XDA ROM to be able to change providers. I tried Rogers and found the same problem your talking about. I switched to FIDO and mine now seems to work fine and I get a great signal. Even the Wap works in the shopping mall. I would ask the XDA Developer Gurus if the stack upgrade is implamented into the new rom...then maybe talk to a different provider.
I recently loaded the xda developers ver. 1.2 rom to unlock the sim, seemed to work but later found that the phone was not functioning after 5 mins., a soft reset gets it going again, but then stops again after a few mins. This has happened to all three phones I used this program on. Can anyone help me fix this? PLEASE HELP!!!!! Contact me at [email protected]
What do you mean with "not functioning"?
Have you installed additonal software or just the ROM 1.2 ?
Stefan
By not functioning, I mean that no calls or text messages are received or sent after a few minutes of sitting. I have not installed any other software with it.
did you install a radiostack along with the rom if so
and you did a 900/1800 radiostack on a 900/1900 device
or the other way around you should reflash the right radio stack
if not you can try choosing the right band in the bootloader
I did not change the radio stack, the rom 3.17.00, radio version 6.12 . I have set to 1900 with bootloader, still same problem. FIDO in Vancouver, canada. got any suggestions? the sticker says its a pw10b1
I have a 8525 that has IPL 1.04 and SPL 2.10 Olipro.
I've tried most of the methods mentioned in the wiki and I still can't get it fixed. Whenever I try to flash the Radio rom (1.54.07.00), I get stuck in the 0% and gives me an error code. According to the wiki, it means fail to connect, but ActiveSync worked?! Now what am I supposed to do to get rid of this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I was never able to flas Radio 1.54.07.00. Some one recomended flashing the Official AT&T WM6 Rom to get the radio, then flash back to whatever ROM I was using. That actually worked. In my case I was having my radio dropping signal every so often. Then on sometimes on rest would sho "no GSM" other time not. Now I have "no GSM" all the time and can't flash the Officila AT&T ROM any longer (Hangs at 11%).
But I may have had a dieing radio hardware (my phone was a referb) and it might actuallly work for you. In my case my 8525 is now basically a PDA with wifi.
My final solution: I have a Kaiser (8925) scheduled to arrive today.

Your problem sounds exactly like mine. Mine got hung at 11% as well with official ATT Rom.
My solution? Well, I dumped my 8525 (cancelled account), and got myself a Samsung i760 from Verizon Wireless. I wanted to go with the 8925, but I had to pay more than $300 for upgrading the phone (plus extending contract for 2 more years). As for the i760, I didn't pay a dime. (A friend of mine that works at a authorized dealer hooked me up)
hi all
I have the same device a 8525 that has IPL 1.04 and SPL 2.10 Olipro

Hi everyone,
I tried to update my radio version several times but after finish update, the radio version still display the old version.
I did try update to 1.41, 1.50, 1.51, 1.45. every time I did success, which means status bar went 100% and then reset itself without error. however, when I check the radio version in "settings", it shows 1.14.01.10, hope someone can help. thank you all.
my info:
Phone: X01HT
WM6 CE5.2.1948
ROM version: Schap's 4.22
ROM date: 10/03/07
Radion version: 1.14.01.10 (after several times update, still!)
Protocol Version: 32.50.7018.00H
ExtROM version: 4.22.20071209
IPL: 1.04
SPL: 2.10.Olipro
Since your device is a softbank hermes you MAY have an issue because it has radio bootloader 0182 on it (which is flashed when you FIRST turned the phone on).
I wasnt aware this prevented it from having a new radio version flashed though??
Ive been away a while so somebody might be able to elaborate on this.

so....can this be fixed or solved? thx man.
to my best understanding, no, this cannot be resolved. you can unlock the phone (not free) and change the ROM, but the 1.14 radio and 0182 radio bootloader are unchangeable. i think developers have given up on cracking this bootloader as its a negligible population that are affected (X01HT users in Japan... i happen to be one and have been waiting and hoping for a solution since i got my phone in april).

thats bad. no wonder after several updates, it still stick with the old radio version. I thought I can improve the reception performance after radio updates.
oh well......we'll wait then. anyways thank u all. hope there will be a way to do a update on X01HT.
Are those all X01HT cannot be updated radio ROM? and only be stucked in the 1.14 radio version?
I thought I saw someone using X01HT is using a more update radio version though....
You can prevent RBL 0182 from loading by immediately resetting the phone during its FIRST power up. But if you let it go through the customization process, then you're pretty much f**ked. Having said that, I really have no issues with mine being stuck at radio 1.14, I use only 3G and with average use the battery still lasts 3 days, not to mention very good reception even inside my Boxwave Armor casing (aluminium) which some people here have reported to have a dissipating effect on the signal strength. However, these are just my experiences, and are anecdotal at best.
Hi,
I have this wizard for couple of years.
It works fine but sometimes looses connection with GSM (became unavailable).
The bad joke is that I do not know about it (signal indicator shows good signal and others are ok).
At the moment I'm using the following firmware:
ipl 2.21.0001
spl 2.21.0001
gsm 02.07.10
os 2.21.4.1
WM5
I think the first possible solution is to upgrade radio.
Which version works most stable? Where is it? How to reprogram it without hard reset and reflashing all device (too hard to backup and reinstall all the software)?
Thanks.
Oleg.
Check out 'XDA-Wiki' you'll find all the Radio Roms listed there.
Its very simple to flash and upgrade Radio Rom,just hook up the phone with pc via usb cable and run the RUU in the Radio Rom,it'll hardly take a couple of minutes to flash.

I've found 2.71 with RUU_GO.exe
Is it the file to run? Is it suitable for 'operators' phone (G4)?
Can I be sure that nothing will happens with the current apps and data?
All Radio Roms are safe to flash to any device,G3 or G4,it just flashes and upgrades the GSM files and nothing else is changed or effected,it doesn't have any IPL/SPL (Bootloaders) in it.None of your personal data or application will get effected.
The most stable and commonly used Radio rom is considered to be is 2.19.11 and 2.69.11.But everyone have their own experiences,it all depends which suites you the best.
Hi,
thank you!
you were right about simplicity
last time (couple years ago) it was much more tricky to reprogram all rom
just flashed 2.69 radio and will check it's stability
i have 3.02... radio on a g4
