Display same radio version after update - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

Hi everyone,
I tried to update my radio version several times but after finish update, the radio version still display the old version.
I did try update to 1.41, 1.50, 1.51, 1.45. every time I did success, which means status bar went 100% and then reset itself without error. however, when I check the radio version in "settings", it shows 1.14.01.10, hope someone can help. thank you all.
my info:
Phone: X01HT
WM6 CE5.2.1948
ROM version: Schap's 4.22
ROM date: 10/03/07
Radion version: 1.14.01.10 (after several times update, still!)
Protocol Version: 32.50.7018.00H
ExtROM version: 4.22.20071209
IPL: 1.04
SPL: 2.10.Olipro

Since your device is a softbank hermes you MAY have an issue because it has radio bootloader 0182 on it (which is flashed when you FIRST turned the phone on).
I wasnt aware this prevented it from having a new radio version flashed though??
Ive been away a while so somebody might be able to elaborate on this.

so....can this be fixed or solved? thx man.

to my best understanding, no, this cannot be resolved. you can unlock the phone (not free) and change the ROM, but the 1.14 radio and 0182 radio bootloader are unchangeable. i think developers have given up on cracking this bootloader as its a negligible population that are affected (X01HT users in Japan... i happen to be one and have been waiting and hoping for a solution since i got my phone in april).

thats bad. no wonder after several updates, it still stick with the old radio version. I thought I can improve the reception performance after radio updates.
oh well......we'll wait then. anyways thank u all. hope there will be a way to do a update on X01HT.

Are those all X01HT cannot be updated radio ROM? and only be stucked in the 1.14 radio version?
I thought I saw someone using X01HT is using a more update radio version though....

You can prevent RBL 0182 from loading by immediately resetting the phone during its FIRST power up. But if you let it go through the customization process, then you're pretty much f**ked. Having said that, I really have no issues with mine being stuck at radio 1.14, I use only 3G and with average use the battery still lasts 3 days, not to mention very good reception even inside my Boxwave Armor casing (aluminium) which some people here have reported to have a dissipating effect on the signal strength. However, these are just my experiences, and are anecdotal at best.

Can't get radio to work on my TyTN - No GSM message on boot screen

Hi There,
I've had my TyTN for about 5 months now and love it.
I upgraded to v1.35 (south african version) when it first came out and noticed a significant improvement over the original ROM. Last weekend I started having problems with my radio and noticed a "No GSM" message on the boot screen (where the radio version would normally appear). After reading up on the message, I determined that my radio had, somehow, become corrupted. I tried to re-install the v1.35 ROM but the problem persisted so, I tried to image the 2.05 ROM with no difference.
I've exhausted all my options and now turn to you to see if someone can help.
I'm at SPL 1.09 (FYI... I bought the unlocker from imei-check so I could downgrade to SPL 1.04 but it won't install).
Can anyone offer some additional insight/recommendations so I can get my TyTN back up and running?
Thanks!
Dan.
It might actually be a bad SIM. If it was just working and it went south without you changing anything then its SIM or hardware IMO.
Hmm. I'm pretty sure the SIM is okay because I popped it back in my 2125 Smartphone when my TyTN failed and my 2125 is working fine.
Hardware will be harder to diagnose, though... Any suggestions on how to narrow it down to hardware?
Thanks,
Dan.

Orange m3100 rom

hi all, can someone tell me the radio version currently used on the non 'edited' perfectly same as the shop orange M3100's out at the moment?
also does anyone have a copy of there rom for an orange m3100 currently used who would be willing to send it or post on rapidfiles? to try and fix my current radio problems.
thanks all
Dan
what radio problems you getting? im having troble with my m3100 too. its losing connection all the time, and freezing up/not waking up from sleep! ive tried everything, flashing different roms/radios etc, nothings working also sometimes when i turn on my phone i get NO GSM, and some times it says R NONE and P NONE
:S
Currently running radio 1.27 with XDA Live 2.1 on my M3100 (Orange UK) with no major problems. I think the original radio was 1.06.

my original problem is on this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297691
needless to say i have the same problems are you and i cannot seem to fix it. downloading the 2 radios versions of 1.06 and will see if that solves it. doubt it tho
i have downgraded to 1.04 bootloader, when i type rtask a in, it enters in the radio bootloader, but then you cant do anything else, it freezes so to speak.
I think i have a corrupt CID and/or Radio stack.
Ive upgraded rom after rom or radio and OS, with no success.
it's doing my head in!
also sometimes i load my phone up and i get the radio version displayed, then other times i just get NO GSM. so whats going on?
For French Swiss Orange M3100 I passed to WM6 ave the Rom 3.22.200.4
The version of the radio and 1.34.00.10
The unit functions perfectly well M3100 is not guaranteed any more can desimlocké But I can install any Rom

radio bootloader has no echo... you can type 'rversion' and hit enter and verify if it answers, but you won't see anything you type, only bootloader's response.
ahh, yeah that works. it returns the value 0108 and nothing else.
my problem is the CID/IMIE/GSM is so unstable, sometimes it will work then half way through a call it will cut out but still show as connected. sometimes i softrest and it says NO GSM where the radio version should be. and wont connect. also some times it displays R NONE and the one underneath it as NONE too. i read somewhere that someone had exactly the same problem, just i dont know if there is a way to fix it.
currently the versions are:
IPL-1.00
SPL-1.04
Its superCID after running the unlocker version 3.
M 05
S 04
B 06
R 1.16.00.00
P 32.53.7018.01H
D 1.20
i have no idea how to fix it, ive read the wiki over and over, tried the common upgrade problem fixes for the radio stack and still no change. any help would be great.
Thanks.

Not sure which unlock will benefit me

Ok well I had a unlocked 8125 and I stumbled across a new 8525 for 150, so I picked that up... Now I should be getting it tomorrow and my question is this...
I'm assuming I fall under the post April category(being brand new) with the difficult SIM unlocking procedure... Now I'm not really in to switching around my carrier, I have AT&T its a AT&T branded phone and I'm fine with that... the only thing I really care about is being able to flash different OS roms and whatnot.
So do I just run the auto unlocker and only select CID unlock??
I've been trying to read and find out if the auto unlocker CID option will still work for post April units but I haven't been able to find the response yet.
Or am I totally in left field on this??? Do I need both CID and SIM unlocked to do OS rom flashes??
I acquired the 8125 already unlocked and those tend to be easier to do stuff to than these, or I'm just not reading the right thread.
Any info is appreciated.
I will not be turning the unit on till I hear a response from you guys. Worse case I just wont let the customization complete.

You only need to do CID for that purpose. You are correct. Of course, doing SIM won't hurt you, but you only NEED CID.
Ok so when I get this phone... turn it on, do touch screen thing, do other crap, and CANCEL the customization with a soft reboot??? and then I can sim unlock it?
What sim unlocker do I use and whats the best radio for my location? Phone will actually be delivered today so this is why I'm asking.
Wait I think I got it... Turn on phone... Reboot before customization...
Run AUTO_Unlock_v3a once connected, after 1.16 radio installed then run Herm_Unlock_v3.exe to unlock it and once that is done run SoftBank_1.33.761.4_Extrom to remove the bootloader update.exe and then I can hard reboot without problems...
That sound right? This is following POF's thread on how to unlock these... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=301952
I just run olipro 2.10 hardspl v7 and then I can flash any rom and radio I wish.
Yes but mine is a post April release phone which aparently has a radio bootloader update to 0182 which then makes the Radio rom un updatable, or impossible to unlock the sim.
Unless I dont need the Sim unlocked to do radio updates... but the more I read leads me to believe I wont be able to update the radio if I let the 0182 radio bootloader update run.
OR unless I'm completely retarded and this doesnt apply to the AT&T 8525.... I cant really find that on here.
Either way I'M LOST!
Yeah I think I'm retarded and read too far into this... I don't think the AT&T 8525's have this Radio Bootloader update thingy thats coming on the SoftBank phones...
Well all is good... fired the phone up, used it for all of 20 min before I used the auto unlocker on it unlocked CID and SIM, and then flashed it with VP3G WM6 rom, and the newest 1.54 radio... all is good so far.
Ok, I think I'm still at 1.04 IPL and 1.40 SPL, Olipro, is it worth it for me to install the Hard SPL v7 update??
IPL and SPL stuff on these phones are slightly more confusing than on the older 8125's
Also how do you get to the 3 color boot loader screen manually?
I did a HTC WM6 flash, wasnt very impressed and went back to the vp3G setup... Also is the 1.54.07 radio any good... the HTC rom put me down to 1.48 and since the 1.54 takes 20 min to upload I may leave it as is right now.

I would update to the latest HardSPLv7. Oli makes it better every time - more protection.
1.54 is an AT&T release, so it is probably better than 1.48. I think 1.50 was also an AT&T release, but you can use it and see if it works. The biggest difference usually seems to be battery.
Regarding putting into bootloader screen, I don't have my phone on front of me, but I am sure it is in the wiki. It is a right side button, a left side button and the press the reset hole on the bottom. I think it is the bottom side buttons - OK, PTT and the reset hole. (I think)

need some advice - restoring hermes for warranty repair. os done, radio and BL left

Hi,
i must sent my hermes to repairs. so i have to restore it to wm5 and old bootloader.
i have some problems with the gsm module. sometimes i get "no gsm" in the bootscreen and after boot no phone functions. Some time i the radio shows up in boot and i get phone functions. the problem did not appear after a flash. the last flash a month ago.
it seems that the hardware that there is a loose connection. when i make a test call and knock the phone (softly) the phone connection is lost. the "end call" button does nothing and after a while the whole os freezes.
has someone another idea than faulty hardware?
OS is restored to original with the help of mrvranx guide.
whats left is the bootloader and the shipped radio rom.
Bootloader screen shows:
Herm 300
IPL-1.04
SPL-2.10Olipro
Radio Rom is 1.47.30.10
Im a little concerned about mrvranx warning: "If your radio version is currently HIGHER than 1.27.00.00 then it is very likely the radio bootloader is version 0108, this WILL NOT allow the radio to be downgraded to a radio containing BL 0106 and will result in a "NO GSM" error"
but on the next page is a guide to flash the bootloader back step by step to the original. is this method save? and does anybody know which one was the shipped one (t-mobile germany).
last the radio. i can't remember which was the shipped version.
and can i flash whithout problems back to the original? somewhere i read about problems because of the bootloader.
and the last question
in what order must i do this. first radio then the bootloader is right?
many thanks in advance.
washi
just today I had to get my old TYTN ready for warranty/repair.
I followed mrvranx's guide to downgrade my bootloader and it worked flawlessly. I did it all from an XP computer as I was having issue on my Vista machine. Follow it to a T and you should not encounter trouble.
As for the order, I don't think it matters. I did my radio last if you just wanna follow my lead.
As for determining the radio and boot loader version - I'm with Rogers in Canada, they send me my replacement device before I send them the faulty one. I just go into bootloader mode (power on the right side+ok on the left side+reset button at the bottom) and verify the version.
just checked my radio bootloader version. its 108.
so i wont be able to flash a radio < 1.3x?
which is unfortunate because the t-mobile germany never actually offered an official update :/
i just hope the handy will pass with the old os and old bootloader but newer radio.
Is this really needed?
I have to send my phone in as well and didn't know if it was really necessary to do all the downgrading and stuff? i guess can't hurt to be safe though huh
Hey Guys,
I am in the same boat as you all, I am with Rogers and unfortunately MRVANX guide is not online at present, can any one help. Also if you can tell me if it is at all possible, my IPL is 1.04, SPL is 2.10.OLIPRO and Radio version is 1.54.07.00 I am using FARIA.32 ROM
please help.
Thanks

Most stable radio for o2 mini S and how to upgrade it?

Hi,
I have this wizard for couple of years.
It works fine but sometimes looses connection with GSM (became unavailable).
The bad joke is that I do not know about it (signal indicator shows good signal and others are ok).
At the moment I'm using the following firmware:
ipl 2.21.0001
spl 2.21.0001
gsm 02.07.10
os 2.21.4.1
WM5
I think the first possible solution is to upgrade radio.
Which version works most stable? Where is it? How to reprogram it without hard reset and reflashing all device (too hard to backup and reinstall all the software)?
Thanks.
Oleg.
Check out 'XDA-Wiki' you'll find all the Radio Roms listed there.
Its very simple to flash and upgrade Radio Rom,just hook up the phone with pc via usb cable and run the RUU in the Radio Rom,it'll hardly take a couple of minutes to flash.

I've found 2.71 with RUU_GO.exe
Is it the file to run? Is it suitable for 'operators' phone (G4)?
Can I be sure that nothing will happens with the current apps and data?
All Radio Roms are safe to flash to any device,G3 or G4,it just flashes and upgrades the GSM files and nothing else is changed or effected,it doesn't have any IPL/SPL (Bootloaders) in it.None of your personal data or application will get effected.
The most stable and commonly used Radio rom is considered to be is 2.19.11 and 2.69.11.But everyone have their own experiences,it all depends which suites you the best.
Hi,
thank you!
you were right about simplicity
last time (couple years ago) it was much more tricky to reprogram all rom
just flashed 2.69 radio and will check it's stability
i have 3.02... radio on a g4
