Hi guys today i decide to buy a hands free for my wing and the problem is the follow..
i went on 2 stores, both of them recommend me to buy the RAZR mini usb hands free witch they say is capable.
however those two shops dont have this handsfree atm so i went to a third one.
the guy on the third store says he dont know if this handsfree is working on my phone but with the recommendations in mind i went and bought it!
now when i plug it in and nothing happens.. may i need a setting? or this handsfree cant work on my phone?
or its a broken one?
thanks in advance!!
??
no one? pleaseee
was a sale DUDE!
Really dissapointed with the cellphone sales man, but just to let u know i had two razr before w/brand new accs and the hands free never work w/my WING. I did use the the one i had on my pass MDA and it worked, ofcourse is the same brand. I think u should rturn it but keep in mind bluetooths for calls or even for music.
Good luck w/the sales man
Now I actually dont have one of these, I just use a Motorola HT820 (Headset) and a Motorola HS820 (Stereo Headphones).... But...
What do you mean it isnt working? Does it connect? Does the Wing see your Headset?
Like when you hold in the Power button on the headset until the light on the headset stays a steady blue, then try to find it using the Bluetooth on your phone.
Hello,
Looking for people who have successfully connected to a bluetooth GPS receiver to an ATT 8525/hermes. What works and what dosnt. With software is service required? Any specific bluetooth protocols needed? etc. etc.
Regards,PK
Gotta be someone out there???
Garmin
I have successfully Connected a Garmin Mobile 10 to my 8525 & LOVED it!!!
as a matter of fact, I also have an extra one for sale, along with an 8525 with Win 6.5 ROM & Lots of accessories, including a dead 8525 for parts
Thanks FLFXR,
Sounds like a pretty resounding positive. I looked at their site, pretty pricey. You can PM me with what you'd like to get for just the garmin &, well, everything to. I am on a pretty tight budget but the way thing are going with this thing...
Thanks, PK
The Moto spec sheets say there is one. Is this like Zork, where you have to look under a grating in a dark closet? I've used headphones but didn't see any "radio" options happen.
I cannot find anything about a FM radio in the official Motorola atrix specs...but I also would like to have a fm radio
fm radio
Yes there is an FM radio but you can't use it just yet. There is an app called CMP Connected Media Player that Motorola is working on but not released yet. There is a leaked version out there that connects to the FM receiver but it is not working (yet). Maybe they haven't enabled that feature yet, or maybe AT&T is blocking it because they want you to pay for their radio service, we don't know yet. I installed CMP and it is only half completed so it's probably best to wait for the official release whenever that will be. CMP uses the SAME icon and title as the current installed music player, so when you install it you will have 2 identical music app icons....like I said it may be better to just wait until the official release.

Any info on when it might be released?
Thanks, Panflute. Some things I'll meddle with, but resist the temptation to meddle for FM radio right now. I've got a chip full of MP3 stuffed in there that can keep me happy for a long time, and I'd like to explore the full range of lockups and lapses (Huh, was someone trying to use me as a phone?!) first.
The phone seems to get lost every once in a while, but that seems to be an Android thing, I'm guessing some tasks (like connecting to Google) sometimes take 100% CPU utilization and just don't bother telling the user to "wait please".
The Atrix has an FM chip inside that is true, but also the Milestone 2 has one and there is still no working fm app for that phone. Motorola only seems to activate the fm radio on there lower priced phones. I don't know why. In Motorolas specs list is nothing to find about a working fm radio. But something officially about the fm radio would change my mind.
Looks like someone has figured it here by updating Connected Music Player:

Had to rename to .apk extension, but fm radio still does not work...
"but fm radio still does not work..."
Forgive me if this is obvious...But you know the FM radios only work if you have a headset plugged in? They use the headset wire as the FM antenna. I'd expect the hardware won't "run" the radio unless it detects earbuds are plugged in.

Yes my headset was plugged in, the app won't open without the headset, unfortunately it's not working...
I just tried it, doesn't seem to work yet. I have headphones in and it says it's playing, but there no sound.
I have to disagree with just waiting for Motorola to unlock this feature. The dev community had to unlock it for the Droid 2 as well...
I wonder why Motorola can advertise that the Atrix has the FM Radio with RDS, but their only service provider for now which is AT&T does not mention it at all.
I really don't want to blame anyone, but I miss this feature very much. One of the main reasons I purchased the Atrix is because I wouldn't be losing any existing features of my older phone.
Does anyone know the status of the Motorola Connected Music Player app?
Just wondering if anyone knows if there's been any progress on this.
It's gone now.
the broadcom chip on the phone supports fm radio but there isn't an application that has been developed to use it.
so unless some dev has ample knowledge of the broadcom chip and develops a new app for it, we won't get support.

"I wonder why Motorola can advertise that the Atrix has the FM Radio with RDS, but their only service provider for now which is AT&T does not mention it at all."
That's an easy one to answer. If you buy an Atrix from Motorola, you can get it with the FM radio working. Oh, wait, that's right, Moto doesn't sell any of them.
So you buy it from AT&T, who has all their phones built/configured "OEM" just for AT&T's own specs, and funny thing, you get what AT&T advertises: No radio.
And that's the way the game is played. Buy it from Moto, you're entitled to a radio. Buy it from AT&T, you're not. Unless someone can convince the FTC or another agency that kneecapping hardware is an unfair trade practice that falls under their regulation.

But that doesn't make any sense, you just stated buy it from Moto, I'm entitled to radio, but just above that you say Moto doesn't sell any of them. So my conclusion would be I can't purchase one with an FM Radio working out of the box. If this is the case, it would definitely be false advertising.
My lawyer senses were tingling. I'm not that kind of attorney, but I'm pretty sure there's no false advertising here. Did AT&T tell you you were getting a radio? Sucks, yes. Actionable, no.

What's false? Who's advertising? Think about it, your conclusion is correct. YOU can't purchase one, at this time, with a working radio. Or perhaps you could, if you bought one directly from Moto. AT&T probably has some exclusive with them, but no doubt you could order a hundred thousand phones after that runs out, and have them FM radio function implemented for you. Ohyeah, wholesale, retail, there are all kinds of markets and Moto never has, AFAIK, sold phone directly retail. If AT&T or some other carrier chooses to kneecap the product, or just supports a partial feature set...well, what's false about that, as long as they tell you what they are or aren't delivering?
Is it, perhaps, what some of us would opine "ungentlemenly conduct" or "not the best behavior" ? Or perhaps, bordering on "smarmy" ? Does the phrase "What WHERE they THINKING?" come to mind?
Well...if it was, that still doesn't necessarily make it false or illegal. Heck, the cellcos are allowed to charge 1000x more for SMS than they do for voice calling time, and that's not illegal. So, this one wants you to pay for data rates and get your music by the byte, rather than for free. Sadly, that's the way capitalism works. Or, not so sadly, when you're the capitalist.<G>
I'd suspect there's good pocket change to be made by any programmer who can sell a little applet to enable the radio. Like the Chinese ideogram, or the tarot card, that has two meanings: Chaos, and opportunity. All the same, no?
Now, if Moto had only released the Atrix in a ruggedized body, like the T-Mob Defy! Who knows, maybe in six months time. With an FM radio. And supporting the data bands from BOTH carriers. <G>
I'm having some troubles with my SE X10 Mini: sim card not been recognized and device turns off and doesn't turn on again. I've sent my device to an authorized technical assistant (GlobalExpress - don´t go there) and the attendent said that in two days I could call to approve or not the service. I tried to call many times and just after ten days they reported that device has no problems at all and it just needed software repair. They wanted to charge about U$40 bucks to do that! Are they crazy? I can just do that with SEUS or PC Companion as we know.
When I picked up device I noted that it was not working. The technician examined the device in front of me and reported that somehow battery connector was broken, they would not repair this issue and said to send device to a NON AUTHORIZED technical assistant. WHAT??? They should fix any kind of problems as they have Sony Ericsson feedback to do that and I would pay for service as warranty has gone. In Brazil we have a customer law wich says that none business store could denied service for customers who pay for. I tried to argue with Sony Ericsson Brazil but no success. After a post on facebook they responded that after sales team would get in contact with me. I'm waiting to see what they want.
In resume: Sony Ericcson is joking with us, customers. Now I have a commitment that I'll never buy ANY SONY OR SONY ERICSSON device in future because they are not a serious enterprise.
This is just a report of an unhappy customer in Brazil.
Ish bro... I live in belo Horizonte too... have you tried to take your phone to another authorized technical assistant?
I think you need to bring it to SE Service center, not these type of service center cause I don't know what the hell is it. It does not appear in my country as the name "Global(????)"
nit3wolf, it´s the only authorized here in BH, unfortunately.
silveraero, It's the name of a SE Service Center. I've translated as we say here.. my bad. Maybe service center would be nicer than authorized technical assistant. thanks
well..that's disappointing as well as embarrassing, actually what i think is those guyz are frustated with their own jobs. (you know just sitting infront of a pc and f*****g with customers.).If you got law,man go for it,SUE THEM.!
It is true that Japanese and Korean companies are not as service oriented as they ought to be. If it is their product (which clearly it is) they had the obligation to service it if the warranty still applies.
If they clearly see parts damaged by other 3rd-party repairers, they should show that to you and inform you of the cost for that part itself. The physical proof cannot be disputed. But clearly, service centres such as these always wanted to avoid taking in products to fix. This runs contrary to their existence.
