Vista RC2 - Rom upgrading - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

Has anybody upgraded their rom on Windows Vista RC2 yet? It syncs with no problem but I'm a bit leary about being the test user for rom upgrading (and subiquent bricking) of my TyTN. Unfortunatly I currently don't have a machine running XP in the house or i'd just do it on that. Do I need to reinstall XP on one of my machines or has anybody been successful with RC2?

I haven't tried it yet, but unless the tools used for the upgrade are different to other HTC phones, then it doesn't work with Vista.

Upgrade HTC Touch Pro to Windows Mobile 6.5?

Hi,
sorry am a noobie to the scene but I was wondering is it possible to Upgrade my HTC Touch Pro to Windows Mobile 6.5? I am currently running the Elite RC3 custom rom. Its very good but i have a few niggles with it and i like the 6.5 interface and i hear it is better on battery and runs faster.
So is it possible to upgrade from Windows Mobile 6.1 to 6.5?
Regards

Before you get flamed lemme just say.....
Yep.....
cheers brannutz I fink i will be upgrading tonight then
6.5 runs like a champ on my Fuze.
Good luck and have fun trying out all the ROMS. Plenty of great ones to choose from.

Does anyone know the official release date for win mo 6.5, I'm kinda' sick of Betas...
I've only tried RRE 6.5, and it's about perfect for me. I wasn't sure about CHome at first, but I'll never go back to Manilla.
I've tried various ROMs until now, but I still think that the official ROM is the best... I did not have any problem with it... but I'd like to use win mo 6.5 on my Raphael...
Will there ever be one for TouchPro? So far I know 6.5 is only available for TP2 and Diamond2.... as an official upgrade.
win mo 6.5 for htc
can any suggest were to get win mo 6.5 for htc touch and how to install , thankx
does this work on my wizard???
or on my diamond??

Read that.......best source of info on updating the GSM versions.
Runs great on my FUZE, and as another poster stated, took me a couple days to warm up to the Chome UI, but, now that I have, the last update (RRE's), I did the "no manilla" version.
PLEASE!
There are countless posts for "noobs". Everyone is here to help out, but sometimes the frustration over answering the same questions 1,324 times gets old. There are sticky's at the top of EACH section, look for those.
I know there are at least 2 "noob" sticky's for flashing the roms for first timers. I'm not a vet at flashing, but I'm not a noob either, but, the sticky for first time rflashers is VERY WELL THOUGHT OUT and works exactly as advertised.
Please, if you want help, at least try to look for the answer. If you don't know how to do a search, or how to use this BBS forum, there are plenty of
help & FAQ's at the top of each board.
Have fun here, but please look before you leap

Hi, I am also looking to upgrade to windows 6.5 Currently I am running 6.1 with Energy Rom2.0 How do you do the upgrade to 6.5
I know the procedure to flash a ROM, I guess the question is does flashing a rom for 6.5 automatically upgrade the OS as well?
What is the procedure for upgrading the OS?

there isn't one and how can you get sick of BETAS when they aren't beta.
the roms out there are made from the officially updated versions that winmo makes so if anything they are the most updated as possible roms.

there is no new procedure to upgrade the OS you just flash the 6.5 rom, there is no new set up no new settings for the first time, just flash like normal.:]
Thanks so flashing a 6.5 ROM will also upgrade the OS from 6.1 to 6.5 right. Just want to make sure. I Do NOT want to brick my phone
Well, a ROM is what contains the OS so yes.

Downgrading HTC Iolite to WM5 ROM

I am looking to downgrade my HTC Iolite to WM5. Has anyone tried that as yet ?
It would be great if someone can point me to a guide and a rom to do so ...
Thanks
Saks
Why would you do that?!?
We have troubles even getting newer roms to work perfectly with the drivers of the iolite, it would be insanely complicated to try make older WM working on it!
EDIT : if it is because of the today screen, you know you can disable Touchflo/Chome, and get back to the plain old/ugly classic today screen, right?
Had an XDA Orbit before on WM5 which had some apps from work which seems to be only compatible with WM5. Upgraded to XDA Guide (like the Touchflo) but wanted to use it to run the old apps.
I know it is difficult as I was checking the process for the Hermes. If someone has already attempted it, it becomes a bit easier.
Thanks
Saks
I get it =)
You want WM5, not WM6.5 =)
Search for
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Loader\LoadModuleLow
You can use this key for old program and maybe it will work under wm6.1.
You can add dll and exe filenames to this key if you want to use old memory manager for this modules.
This is tricky, but if it will work for you it's much better then downgrade.

[Q] Roms for android on PC?

Anhybody rotted XZ3TC on Mac?

Edit: it's totally rotted >_< Can't edit title.
Cheers all.
I'm getting my device in a few, and decided to start looking at options for rooting. I understand that the process will depend on what version the device is running when I get it, and that keeping stock ROM is essential for a few purposes (Remote Play being one) - but otherwise rooting isn't problematic it seems. However, Kingroot isn't available on OS X, so I'm wondering if any fellow OS X users have rooted their XZ3TC natively? Or did you use the Android version of Kingroot?
Alternatively, I'll have to run Parallels or partition my hard disk to get into Windows - would rather avoid that if possible.
when I got mine a little over a week ago, it was on the release version 4.4.4 so I rooted with kingroot on the device.
flashing roms and unlocking bootloader was all done on my macbook air. works pretty good with flashtool.

Perfect! Now that I know it's possible I will begin looking for the tools right away. Thank you.
