Weird heating problem after rom upgrade - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

When i flash to another ROM i experience a problem with my phone heating up, but if i go back to the original rom with the 1.16 radio it doesn't happen. Is this normal or an abberation? I emailed the people i got it from. I am guessing it is a defect.

[Q] Restart issue - Flashing advice needed

Hi All
I've been having awful issues with my Leo restarting randomly, even when i'm not actually using the device. It even goes into a reboot loop and never actually gets to windows and to fix i need to remove the battery for a min. I know that this is a widespread issue and a possible fix is to update the ROM.
Now I have been looking through the various custom ROM's and don't really know which to choose But during my browsing I came across a newer Stock ROM and wondered if this would be a better option?
My current version is RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_CRC_Signed_15.32. 50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Ship.exe.
The newer version is HTC HD2_RUU_Leo_HKCSL_WWE_1.72.831.1_Radio_CRC_Signed_ 15.32.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Ship.exe
It's an o2 business contract handset so am a bit concerned with using a custom ROM if the update doesn't fix the restarting issue and it needs to be returned to o2. Surely they'd realise that the device has been flashed and not fix under the warranty?
would experienced users please advise?
Cheers
Neal
see hkcsl in the filename? that means Hong kong simplified chinese,,,,, and I'm gonna guess that's not what you're after.
I did wonder what that meant.... Thanks for the info
I've just hard reset and formatted the SD card, connected to my pc and now its straight back in to the reboot loop. It is strange as I only had the problem start about a week ago after 6-8 weeks of use.
Gonna bite the bullet and go for a custom rom flash.
Cheers
Neal

[Q] HTC HD2: erratic stuck in bootloader

Hi All,
I have a HTC HD2 TMobile USA. I'm experimenting some issues when rebooting the phone.
The phone works fine but when I reboot it, it stucks (lots of time) in the bootloader screen. Sometimes, after rebooting several times it works. Other times, I have to hard reset and then it works again.
I tried the following and it didn't fix the problem:
* Flash new radio (now 2.15.50.14)
* Flash new ROM (now last Energy with build 29xxx)
Any thought around this issue?
Thanks,
Pipaman
Please help with this issue.
If you need any clarification just ask me but the issue really exist and I cannot send the phone to the service because I'm in a different country.
If I was you I would firstly Reinstall your T-Mobile stock ROM follow by a Hard reset and than reinstalling a Custom ROM follow by a Hard reset.
I don't get in what way that is different to restore the TMobile original ROM. I did that several times before installing a new ROM.
I did that:
* I flahed a stock rom: Now I'm back to stick together screen.
It was working fine until I reboot after a couple of days. Then, it doesn't start again: stuck in 'Stick together' screen.
It's very weird because if I hard reset the phone it works again but it's impossible to live with a phone that cannot be restarted.
I tried changing the SD card to see if that was the problem and the same: after some time using the phone I cannot restart it.
i have t_mobile also and this thing happend to me after flashed back from wp7. and android,....i did task 29 then frelash custome rom .reflash radio.reformat sd,took my sim out and clean it,and now its good, dont know if this thing will back, hope not ; )
I tried that but the same. After using sometime the phone it doesn't reboot again. I tried everything here, I'm near to throw it to the wall

Just a question, do you have good battery connection? are the pins in normal state?
Thank you for your answer.
Yes, all the battery pins are fine. To clarify this point: if I hard reset the phone it works fine until I use it normally. I mean, if I reboot the phone after hard reset it reboots perfect.
However, if I start using it installing any stuff, set-up facebook profile or email accounts, the phone works fine until I reboot it.
Now, I'm using a stock ROM:
TMOUS_3.14.531.1
Radio 2.15.50.14_2
I tried different ROMs and different Radios and it's exactly the same: after using a couple of days if I reboot it, it will stay in the bootloader forever until I hard reset it again.
I found that if I don't configure facebook profile the phone lasts more but it's very weird and annoying.
Hey i got the same problem as you did. It's behavior is erratically. Given the fact that the phone is out of the box. . dude i didn't mod. I feel uncertain using such device when it can go back to "stick together screen" at anything. If i were you, I would just send the device for replacement. That's the reason why people buy iphone. I can see there are tremendous info flowing around here, but ppl seems too busy with developing, no one seems to care about troubleshooting.
Good to hear that I'm not alone with this issue. Unfortunately, I've bought the phone in the US in a trip and I'm in Argentina now so replacement is not a possibility
I understand now why people buy iPhone even. My problem is that I like to hear FM Radio and in my country the best GPS maps are for Garmin that has WM support.
For me this phone was exactly what I wanted. Of course, if it works!
At this point I tried everything: different Radios, different ROMs, not installing anything, etc. but it always happen again.
Now, I try not to reset the phone and I'm very careful to charge it everyday! It looks like I bought a tamagotchi.
What is the SPL version in Bootloader mode?
I'm using SPL 2.8 but the same issue was happening with the default bootloader.
I am just a bit confused, you say you have SPL 2.08(.0000 or .HSPL) and a 3.14 TMOUS ROM.
If that is the case then the RAM would be very low and possibly running Facebook would freeze it.
I'm using:
SPL 2.8 (I cannot verify exactly the version because I don't want to reboot the phone )
OS Version: 21913.5.0.94
Manila: 2.5.20181424.0
ROM: 3.14.531.1
Radio: 2.15.50.14
Protocol: 15.42.50.11U
I identified that Facebook was generating some lack of stability so I don't use it at all, not even to show the photos in the contacts.
I tried to use different ROMs but the stuck at bootloader was the same and I got some problems when the phone became locked: I was unable to unlock it so I had to reboot and guess what happened in the bootloader (I tried Energy ROM with both OS versions, I tried also Task29 before flashing)

BINGO. your absolutely right about that.
Issues with hanging and rebooting have been popular and if you try sd card ROM installation and "RSA radio fail" comes out while flashing then its probably a hardware problem and theory is that it is from heat so advice, get a replacement. I think there is a batch of hd2 phones that have faulty manufacturing

[HELP]Screen suddenly becomes unresponsive Ray

Hello all,
I got a Ray last week, unlocked it, rooted it, put MIUI rom on everything went fine.
However today, the screen suddenly stopped responding completely. I pulled the battery out, back in, nothing. I re-flashed the rom, nothing then re-flashed the stock rom still nothing at all.
I tried to relock (in case i have to send it back to my operator and also try the automatic push thing from blendmiui) the bootloader but i got a failure in flashtool.
I can t do anything with it and can not mount the SD card to put an other rom in it.
So basically now i got the stock rom which boots, the power and home buttons work, but that s pretty much it.
Does anyone have an idea ?
well that looks more like a hardware problem on the touch pannel, not related to ROM whatsoever.
Apart from sending it to repair ... I don't see any solution :-(
Aww that s what i was scared of ... Do you know by any chance if the warranty will take care of this ? Knowing that i unlocked the BL ?
Yes I think, you didn't brick your phone (software), if it's an hardware problem unlocked bootloader will not change anything concerning the warranty.

Random shut downs - Completely stock device

Has this happened to anybody else before and have a fix for it? I would kind of expect this if I was on a rom of some sort and this was just an error of some sort of the developer, but this is stock, completely out of the box still. I am tempted to want to send it into Samsung but I can expect them to send it back and say nothing is wrong with it.
So any help with this would be great.
Try factory reset and see if the issue occurs again.
If it doesn't fix the issue, flash your stock ROM through ODIN (if you are comfortable in flashing).
If you are seeing the issue even after this, it may be hardware issue, so send it to Samsung.

[Help] GS2 in dire need of resuscitation!!

Hello XDA! This is kind of long winded, but I'm at the end of my tether with this and all I want is a functioning GS2 back in my hands!
I have an international GS2 that i've owned since they appeared in the UK. I rooted it after a month of running stock and then started flashing ROMs pretty soon after that. I have flashed many many ROMs, all with success and no issue whatsoever.
However....
I now have a GS2 that boots into recovery, boots into download and will boot into a ROM. Once booted into a ROM, it will freeze, either instantly or after a period of minutes. The screen becomes non-responsive yet the ROM seems to function, calls come in and continue and it still connects to a PC to browse storage etc.
I've wiped and flashed a multiple of ROMs - CM, RR, PA, multiple official stocks. Followed all the install instructions as per usual. Never took any shortcuts or whatever.
Inbetween all this the power button stopped working. Took this to my local store, they showed me the water damage, they replaced the button and that was rectified, working again.
So....basically no ROM would work properly at all. I assumed that this was a soft brick of some sort and gave up hope of getting this fixed myself. Took it back to the phone shop, explained the issue and he said it should be repairable, good chance it was just a software issue and that if worst came to the worst it would go on the JTAG and be flashed back to stock and I would lose everything but have a working phone.
Obviously the phone was picked up today and it's still the same. Boot into stock ROM and pretty much freezes instantly.
The phone shop dude said he tried a new screen to see if that was issue, it wasn't. They tested all the connections on the board and there where no shorts apparently. They had it on the JTAG multiple times, that didn't fix it.....
Doe's anyone have any idea what could be the cause. Do I just let it RIP or is there a chance someone out there can fix this.....
Thanks in advance and sorry for the rambling post. I thought I better lay out all that's happened with the phone and the work that has been carried out on it.
G
Did they check the battery?
I assume they did.
Nuke scripts can clean all previous ROMs leftovers and format system will get your device all cleaned up.
If those 2 don't work, hardware it is, swap shops and see.
Sent from the little guy
Could be a GPU issue. If it is then you will need a mobo replacement or replace GPU if possible.
Alternatively you should do a complete clean install or rom which means make sure all the old files and partitions are cleaned before installing a rom. First simply try using a rom/kernel cleaning script and the flash custom or stock rom. Another way would be to format internal and external sd cards via CWM and then flash rom.
If you still have issues after doing above then you have a hardware issue and will need new mobo.
