I am looking for a driver that runs on my phone which gives access via usb to the wifi device. this would be similar to wm5storage in function (exposes phone filesystem as a usb disk).
in theory this is completely possible, and not limited to wifi, but that is all I need right now.
alternatively does anyone know of a good proxy server that can run on the phone?

could you tell us exactly what you are trying to achieve? Use your wizard as some kind of wifi modem?

AKU 3.x Roms have ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) which I know works with the GPRS but may also work with WiFi.

I don't think ICS in AKU 3.X ROMs work with WiFi. In my device after I choose Internet Sharing, there ain't any WiFi connections to choose from. There are only BT or GPRS connections.

Open ActiveSync if device is disconnected(maybe works also with connected device,but unable to test it now). In File>Connection Settings... Choose the option 'This computer is connected to:' to 'The Internet'. That's it.

the gprs setting is done.but some software can't connect the network still.
it's no 'internet setting' in setting panel--connections--connections,too.

have you done auto configurator after hard resetting?
without it, you wont be able to connect,.

what band(s) are your broadcasting off your notebook b/g/n?(think the mini only has b/g)
are you broadcasting from like the attic down to the basement?
My wifi chip is Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
The connection is shared and without encryption.

anyways i'm not sure about all your settings but when i was running an adhoc network i defiantly did not have network authentication set to shared i had it set to open the video from what i could bare to watch also doesn't show you how to enable ics so google/youtube that for another 10 minute video if you need too :roflcopter:

Maybe you tried Creating Ad-Hoc. Android does not show adhoc networks. There is also a Workaround. Thanks to blackplatypus. Details at

So there is another way, Make your pc act as an Access point.
Easy Way: First (Did not work for me. )
Easy Way: Second (Have not tested it.)
Hard Way:
Not sure if it will work on XP.
1. Go to Start -> Run, Type services.msc
2. Find if you have the "Routing and Remote Access" [/B]
If it is ther then Procceed. But if you dont have it, You can not make a virtual Wifi Router.
3. Right Click on "Routing and Remote Access", Select Properties, Select Automatic from the Dropdown menu, click on OK. Then restart your PC.
4. After Restarting the PC, Copy and paste the code below in any text file and save it as “.bat” file.
Note: replace yourSSID with any SSID you like and yourKEY with any password you like.
Code:
netsh wlan set hostednetwork ssid=yourSSID key=YourKEY keyUsage=persistent
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
Double click on it.
You can see an Extra Wireless Connection in your “Network Connections” folder.
5. Right Click on your main internet connection, go to Properties, select Sharing, Put tick on First box and select the extra Wireless Network Connection.
Done.
Now you can use internet through this.

Tethering the way Phone to PC works but I need opposite way to do it.

there are two options.
1. Wi-Fi tethering (Pc to phone)
- Download virtual router or similar apps (free), on your Pc, use the app to create Wi-Fi network. Your phone will see and connect to the network
2. Reverse USB tethering
- Download Reverse tether (paid, free trial) from playstore, run the app and follow the instructions

You can also use Connectify.
When I used to connect to the modem as regular way (just the cable to connect to modem and other pc using wireless to connect to modem) both the pc could recognizes in same network and I could play LAN games normally.
Now I just use the phone in usb tethering to connect to the modem and noone see other in same network whatever I settup manually inside windows and now noone game find the LAN server.
I seached in find that is a problem with IPs in android, I have an android 2.3 rooted and other 5.1 non rooted, I tried Port Forwarder but dont know how to settup this, tried this http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/43995/use-galaxy-s2-s3-as-router-for-pc-lan-gaming using ip route in my roted phone but the codes did not work. I dont know what to do right now, just only need that Left4Dead find the server as lan game and if I make windows find other in same network im sure that will work :good:
