WM2003SE upgrade failed..help - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

ive upgraded my xda 2 to wm5 3.33a virgy build but i didnt like the ROM very much as it was consuming a lot of battery power compared to the previous ROM which was 2003SE.
so i tried to flash it back to wm2003SE, everything started normallly, and i finished step 1 - erasing ROM image, but when i got to step 2 - upgrading your ROM...my computer suddenly froze, it hang, everything hang up even wmplayer so i waited a long time hoping everything will be restored but it didnt. so i removed my XDA from the cradle and rebooted my computer.
now, my XDA wont even turn on!
please help anyone.
1. has someone experienced the same events as me? what did you do?
2. how long can we drain the backup battery on xda? coz im planning to drain the backup battery and see what happens?
3. Can it be solved by leaving this on my cradle for a long time? my battery im sure is full charged since i have two batts.
any advise will be appreciated.

I have had the similar problem quite a few times. I used the “MTTY” tool and then press the power, reset and navigation button, it put it in boot loader. From there I just simply installed the upgrade.

can you relay what exactly did you do to restore your device?
thanks

Hi,
I downloaded the tool Mtty.exe from this site. Then I dock the “XDA” and open the file mtty.exe, it opened a window which said “port setting” and then I changed the port from “Com 2 to USB”, and click ok. Then another white Window opened and I pressed enter twice and I saw USB>. Then I put in a few commands and put it back in boot loader. After that I did the upgrade. Hope this helps.

Stuck after SoftSPL procedure

Hello there.
I´m really new but certanly i have read a lot on the forums. Still I have managed to mess everything once more.
I have a wizard love G4
ROM Version 2.26.10.2.wwe
Rom date 06/07/06
Radio 02.25.11
Protocol 4.1.13.12
ExtROM 2.26.10.105
Messed around with the splash screen from equinoxe and to make it work i needed to update the RUU from 2.00.1 that was on the installation files to RUU 2.5.2 that was extracted from an HTC.exe rom update download.
Finally it worked just fine.
Then, i decided to give it a go on the SoftSPL procedure in order to install the Black Diamond 2.0 touch rom on my phone so I placed the downloaded "Safe ROM" on the ROM folder. Started the application and everything was looking good. Then the RUU came up with the 2.00.1 version so I was a little worried, but then the so called white screen on the cell phone started but with a progress bar (how convenient)... I´m not sure if i was supposed to see the progress bar at all on the cell phone or just a full white screen.
Anyway, after 10 minutes give or take, the bar got to 100% and the pc software said Congratulations... but then the cell phone automatically restarted and inmediatelly it went to the bootloader three color screen.
I proceded with a hard reset before anything, right on the bootloader screen, (radio and voice buttons hold with reset button and then the send button accepting the restore to factory). Then the phone restarted but also in bootloader screen. So i decided to turn it off by holding the power button for a while. It did turn of, but this is where everything goes crazy... it does not turn on again... it even don´t show no led light when connecting the phone to the usb or the ac wall adapter...
This happened to me a few days ago using the shelltool with the same Black Diamond 2.0 Touch rom but probably i made a different mistake back then.
Anyway I removed the battery and the sim card and reinserted everything again, even tryed it out without the battery and direct connection.
When this happened to me the first time, I just leaved the phone without the battery all night and on the next day it turned on but on the bootloader so I drove it to our local unlocker that managed to re-install the wizard-love once again.
I´m wondering if anyone is having this same issues, or something similar.
Probably i should have ask first if the Black Diamond 2.0 was a safe g4 rom, which i´m not sure but won´t dare to try it again.
I had the same problem.
i'm afraid using the SoftSPL now :S
Try the TNT 5. I used soft spl to install tnt 5 from the wizard love rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=328917
They have a touch version u can think about.
Yes!!!! I love it now!
I downloaded the last SoftSPF. Now it runs a little slower on the first checking part but then it turned the screen all white!!!! Beautiful scary little issue that fortunatelly equinoxe stated on the flashing instructions.
Then I went for the TNT 5.0 Professional with HTC Home Plug-in on my CID LOCKED QTEK-9100 (But that it´s actually looking exactly like a 8125 Cingular), and it did it!.
One question tough... I´m running windows vista on my personal computer so I flashed the cell phone on another computer at my office that has windows xp, but still inside the TNT 5.0 Professional installation pack there is a RUU that states Windows Vista Update Utility. I´m wondering if this would actually run under vista... If so, then I believe that you can make SoftSPF also run under vista by just changing the 2.exe file on the SoftSPF compilation with this Vista_ROMUpdateUtility.exe file on the TNT 5.0 Professional compilation release.
Anyone care to try?
Probably I will be trying to flash a new radio with this RUU Vista utility under vista, to see if it flashes... If it does, then i don´t see why you can´t run try it out under vista.
I´m attaching only the RUU for vista so you can put inside any nk.nbf with it to use it under vista.

Your screen should turn white, completely white... Not white with a progress bar. That is the RUU that you were seeing. Haret.exe cause the screen to crash and then it turns completely white. THIS IS NORMAL.
Try using this version: SoftSPL - RC1. Before I got a G3 and CID unlocked it, this version of SoftSPL worked for me time and time again.
Thank Dan.
Actually the new SoftSPL worked like a charm. The screen went blank as a crash, and 10 minutes later i was on a TNT 5.0 Professional Qtek.

[Q] TMOUS-HD2 Problemo!

Ok, so before the general populace of the forum, looks over this post thinking it's some noob who cant read through the forums to solve there own problem, i would like to say thanks in advance to anyone who can seriously provide some help.
Problem is as follows:::
1,)Phone is working fine using mini-winmo+cyan droid
2,) -PROBLEM- My android stops working, so now im stuck using a lite version of winmo
3,) Tried formatting the sdcard with the lite version winmo built in sdcard formatter, doesnt solve anything, dont exactly know what i was trying to solve with this step.
4,) I decide to get a nice fancy version of winmo, figured it would be as easy as just flashing it once n done.
5,)Decided on going with Ozrom, looked the best at the time.
6,) Run the ruucustom as admin, everything goes fine.
7,) -PROBLEM- after flashing the first boot leaves me stuck on the bootscreen.
So after all that i took the advice and tried to get back to the stock Tmous ROM, but as im typing this im still stuck on the Stick together screen, and also just for a control group i downloaded the latest HD2 cell winmo rom release, and that left me hanging on there version of the boot screen.
Same problem, different roms.. stuck on the loading/boot screen.
But, with the stock rom after playing around with removing the battery, simcard, sdcard and what have you i got the stock rom to boot!!!! I was so excited, i skipped the "How to use the on screen keyboard" tut and was typing in my email info when the phone reset on its own and all my hopes went down the drain... hopefully i will get some help on the issue, and like i said previously in the first paragraph i appreciate any and all help.
thanks.
---UPDATE---
Phone is on and working, intermittently.
When i plug the phone into the charger and wait for the amber light, it will boot up and actually enter into windows, now heres the kicker, removing the charger and using the phone will result in the phone turning off and restarting itself, hanging on the stick together screen.
Removing the battery, and replacing the battery after i push all the buttons, the same way you would power cycle a TV remote, and then connecting it to a charger is the only way ive been able to maintain the operation of the device.
Any ideas?
Try doing task29 reinstall winmo Rom of choosing.. see if that helps.. also I flash everything from bootloader. Also check battery pins make sure they aren't bent..

[Q] Bricked??

Tried to unroot, now I have this. Been trying to flash through Odin (PDA md5 file only), gets to 'system', goes about 10 minutes then fails. Nothing on sd card. Im hoping I can save this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This is a retail Wifi.
I have the correct USB drivers and can see it in device manager but not in explorer. I do not have the correct ADB SDK, cant seem to find it.
Been reading several threads and watching vids on youtube, nothing seems to do the trick. Im stuck but hopefully not bumming.
This may or may not work for most but this worked heavily for my 2 units that had the same issue. One with a broken nvflash, the other that faced a bootloop and never booted up again. Took almost a week and I felt almost all hope was gone because the bloody service centre's refused to accept the unit's as they were not purchased from the region, rather online. Scumbag Samsung .
[!] This is usually a 90% fix for both broken nvflashes/deep sleep of death, considering you haven't drowned your Tab by now with no hope . I ask that you kindly attempt this once if you haven't before you QQ to the nearest Samsung center like I did.
- Drain your tablet
And by all mean's do so, The quickest way to get this done in less than 2 days or so (Depending on the battery percent charged) is to get a clear tape and tape around the power button pressed.
- Testing if you have drained it completely/Taped it right.
Connect the tablet via USB to your PC, make sure you have the NV Driver files [http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?t=1130574]
Just install the driver and proceed to the step where it asks about holding down the [Power button] +[ Volume+] and wait for the constant USB connect/disconnect sounds. It also helps to look at Device Manager to see if it still pops up.
When the battery is completely drained it will stop popping up in the device manager, and your ready to go.
MOST IMPORTANT STEP
You have only 1 and only 1 chance per drain to get this done right. Plug it into the socket charger and see if the charging icon should come up, after being fully drained you should see the charge icon should pop up [100% tested and works, this step is annoying but it's the tablet version of taking out the battery and popping it back in] and what ever you do, DON'T BOOT IT UP NORMALLY, instead press [Power Button] + [Volume -] keys and let go when you see the logo to get into fastboot mode.
Select the android buddy with the [Volume +] key and it will boot into Download Mode.
From here on out everything is easy sailing. Get the right firmware and Odin and flash the firmware you require. It doesn't matter what region you are from, the tablet is made to accept any regional firmware BUT the model number should be the same. Which mean's 7500 for 7500 ONLY.
Edit: Since you have only one chance per drain, I suggest you flash a stock firmware rather than flashing CWM to save it, Because CWM would only fix the recovery, It wouldn't fix the damaged bln. The fastest way to get a stock firmware is grabbing the stock firmware from the Overcome thread

Ok, killed it that long....actually, just havent had time to get into this or deal with the frustration.
Anyway, it did what it was supposed to, meaning the battery icon came on. then I booted to download mode, plugged it in to the PC and it hooked up to Odin. It ported and I started to load the md5 file. I get stuck at the bootloader.bin. Been sitting there for 40 minutes. Has not failed yet. What now??
Never mind, I am an idiot who needs to read more. Please ignore me.

Any and all help is appreciated, nobody is an idiot, except me for bricking this thing.
By the way, about 20 minutes after I posted the screenshot, it failed.

[Q] I believe I am bricked, can anybody help? (p769)

Before the incident, I had root, no unlocked bootloader, stock JB, v20h.
What had happened was I was trying the Font Installer app in th Play Store because of the added customization that would have been nice.
I found a cool font, and I backed up my current fonts and then pressed install. SuperSU asked for permissions like normal and then my phone restarted.
Then it was so that my phone was stuck at the T-Mobile boot animation after the LG Logo. For about 15 minutes. This is where I believed something was starting to go very wrong. After contemplating for a few extra minutes, I decided to just take out the battery and restart. Same outcome. I thought of all the things that were on the phone thus far because I had just gotten it recently, and decided that it wouldn't hurt me to just do a hard reset by pressing home + vol down + power. Everything went smoothly. Except for the fact that even after I did that, it was leaving me at the T-Mobile screen.
I decided to look on the forums for development and tried to do the unbrick method, to no avail after about 3 hours now. I used the LG User Support Tool and since I hadn't updated to V20f, I decided to do that to see if it would solve my problem. It still didn't, and I'll be honest, I'm a little upset just typing this right now.
I also tried the Upgrade Recovery option and it warmed my heart to see that the process was actually starting. But right at the screen where it says that it is supposed to be downloading something, it freezes up and nothing happens no matter how long I wait. I saw somewhere that it should be a glowing red bar, but I do not see that anywhere, it is just frozen, saying Time Elapsed: 00:12. And before anyone asks, yes, I ran absolutely everything as an administrator.
Is there any possible way to bring this phone back? Any help would be immensely appreciated. Thank you in advanced.

did you hard reset? then turn off your phone disconnect the battery, connect to the pc holding the volume up button? then try the Update Recovery?
i would just go through that process over and over until it works, theres not really a way to brick this phone i've heard...

Thank you for your reply! I have tried hard resetting multiple times, but I had removed some bloatware apps (I will quarantine them next time instead because I don't wanna go through this ever again) and I have tried the kdz method to only be stuck at 15% every time when I followed instructions to the pixel. I have tried to do it on windows 7 and windows 8. I have also tried the fastboot method by lelus, and that manages to "work" but I am still stuck at the tmobile boot screen afterwards. I have gotten the hang of the process of getting into the fastboot, but what do I do from there? I chose to flash ics xloader and uboot, but the process goes by so fast, I'm not even sure it is doing anything. The LG Tool has really gotten me nowhere, it just gives me a lovely error and then cannot continue the upgrade recovery process.
It said somewhere that after I flash through the fastboot I then have to try the kdz method, so I am going to do that now and see if it works. I don't know if there would be a difference between flashing a jb kdz or an ics kdz, but I will just do ics to be on the safe side.
I am quite happy to say that flashing the ics kdz was successful, and my phone is now up and running.

im terrible with fastboot, i used the unlock the bootloader for noobs with an offline flash.
heres what i did to get out of bootloops....
alright, this is all from memory but the offline flash didnt work as well for me when stuck in weird bootloops.
Step one-going back to online flash---->
A---
the easiest way i found was to go to C:/windows/system32/drivers/ect/hosts
right click>open with notepad
there should be two lines at the bottom
"127.0.0.1 csmg.lgmobile.com
127.0.0.1 csmgdl.lgmobile.com"
i would cut them out and paste them in a text doc in the same folder for reference later...
but either way you should remove them from the hosts file and save
B----
Make sure your small server is closed! once you minimize it it should go down to your status bar (shttps)
Step two-LGMS---->
make sure you have LG mobile support installed or install it.
open lg mobile support
install needed drivers for your phone
power your phone off/remove the battery
put battery back in
connect it to your computer holding down the volume up button
S/W UPDATE mode should pop up, if it doesn't preform and hardreset and try again til it works (it will)
then in the top right corner there should be a button or two click them both until you see
"restore update" or Update restore or something to that effect
select that
and let it ride man
i got my phone ****ed many times and just had to keep redoing this until it worked. if your bootloader is truely unlocked you can probably go through all that again and get CM10 working, i did but im still working through kinks.....
GOOD LUCK feel free to ask any more Q's about this process if you run into any problems

my tab pro 8.4 has been soft bricked, can anyone help me?

I'll start from the beginining.. Okay so since i bought my tab (3 months ago) i had a battery problem, but it wasnt a bad battery problem. Once it got to 95% battery it stopped charging. Anyway, about a week after that i was unhappy with the performace of touchwiz on my tab so i decided to root it and install the cyanogenmod 12 nightlies. I was happy with cm for a while but eventually i got bored of all the bugs and instabilities so i decided to switch to a touchwiz rom.. This touchwiz rom was a vast improvement from the stock touchwiz so i decided to keep it. However i still wanted to improve the performace so i researched online for apk's/zip's that could improve my tabs performace. I came across crossbreeder and people said it was really good so i decided to install crossbreeder through TWRP. Once installed i rebooted my device and i instantly found many more battery problems. For example my battery would go from 50% to 20% in 5 mins/my battery would run out and i would reboot it and it would have had 40% etc. I downloaded some battery calibrating apps and calibrated my tab. After all that, that battery wasnt so bad. It was still dodgy but no where near as bad as it was straight after installing crossbreeder. Anyway, this was about 1 month ago. Since then, no new problems had occured with the battery until last night. Last night, my battery ent don to 1% then turned off like it should. I put my tab on charge and rebooted however when it rebooted nothing would work. My touchscreen didnt work, my home button didnt work, none of the keys next to the home button didnt work. So i thought that this was no problem and i could just boot into TWRP, factory reset and install the backup that i made. When i tried this, i booted into TWRP successfully however i couldnt press any of the TWRP buttons, again, i thought that this could be solved by flashing the stock firmware through odin. I put my tab into download mode and connected it to my pc, then flashed the stock rom. Once finished it showed a 'pass' and i thought everything was sorted.. When my tab booted up, it again, didnt let me press anything and none of the buttons would work. This is when i panicked. I then went into the stock recovery to factory reset my tab to see if that would work however, when i went into stock recovery, i couldnt go up or down using the volume keys.. So my volume keys didnt work either. I next put my tab in download mode and connected it to my pc. I opened odin and checked the 'Nand erase all' box thinking this would fully reset my whole tab. I then researched the 'nand erase all' function to find that everyone said that it breakes your device and puts it in bootloop etc. After reading this i instantly disconnected the usb from my computer to my tab. I tried rebooting my tab to see if it still booted and it didnt.. (i waited 20 mins). I then ran odin with 'clear efs' box ticked on. Again it didnt boot. I went into stock recovery again to see if the volume keys would work.. they didnt.. Infact when i opened stock recovery it had 3 errors showing (which it didnt last time i opened stock recovery). They all started with 'failed to mount /data'. Now i am here.. Sorry it was such a long read, i thought it would be better if i explained in detail. Thanks to anyone that replies/helps me.
