Hi all i have a g4 locked device from T-Mobile Usa. I have installed wizards love for g4 locked
IPL 2.26.0001
SPL 2.26.0001
OS 2.26.10.1
I have two questions.
1. what do i need to get radio on it? what do i need to do for this device
2. I need stock for t-mobile g4 i don't know how to tell what one i need i have checked the Ftp site

if the current radio is working properly, why do you need to change it?

If it doesn't have a radio then the MDA is just a PDA not a phone... when we say phones/ROMS and radios we mean the part that makes the phone work, not a radio like AM/FM.

Will t-mobile 1.60 rom work with my network (Italy, TIM 900/1800 gsm) or tmobile rom works only with 900/1900?

No problem, the XDA II is a tri-band phone and all ROM versions work on all bands. If the 1.60 will not install for you, you need to change the upgrade image to match the country-code of your device. We're working on a tool to do this, much like the adaptROM tool for the original XDA.

I am currently running the Cingular 2.25.0001 ipl/spl .. is there a better one out there that would be safe to upgrade to on my 8125 G4?
lol.. No one has any suggestions?! lol .. I see a couple people with 2.26 and 3.08 .. just wondering how those would work with my G4
You've got a WHOLE LOT of reading to do if you're thinking about changing your IPL/SPL on a G4 Wizard.

Question I have is.. What exactly does the IPL/SPL do? lol ..
apparently doesnt let you make calls. every time i try to dial a number, it says your international call cannot be completed as dialed... its useless, i just did it on my g3.

IPL and SPL are your bootloaders.
They initialize and load your OS and radio. different versions have different commands available to them and in some cases a higher number means a better version. In others the higher number means there are security "fixes" that will make it harder for you to flash your phone.
For a Wizard I have seen no reason to update higher than the T-Mobile 2.26. But then again you should only do this if you have a G3. Flashing G3 bootloaders into a G4 device will irrevocably brick it.
I believe (don't quote me on this though) that only official carrier roms (newer than the G4 device) contain both G3 and G4 bootloaders and as such are safe to flash to a G4 device. I would confirm this with your carrier before doing so though.

Are you saying you upgraded you G4 CID locked phone using a ROM that isn't from your provider??
Please clarify this matter so that other users don't brick their phones!

I am a french guy, my provider is Ten Mobile.
I already have brick my Wizard before. Thanks to the guarantee, it was repaired.
Just replace Updater by ROMUpdateUtility-NoVendorID.

I have a G4 CID locked phone and IPL/SPL thats older than 2.26 and I see no reason to update them still, considering that I can upgrade everything else (OS, radio, ext rom, splash) without touching IPL/SPL. Of course, I am a little more cautious having bricked (yes, real "replacement required" type brick) my phone once.

You flashed your O2 (G4 and CID locked device) with T-Mobiles ROM?! Sounds crazy to me... Are You sure that your device is CID locked at all? Even G4 device may be CID unlocked, using imei-check - only way this thing have some sense...
Can SPL 2.21.0001 downgrade to 1.06 and smaller?

why? even with NoID updater it's not possible to update a locked G4?

I've seen a T-Mobile WM6 ROM on here, but comments hinted it was for a T-Mobile DE device, not UK, is there any English ones that will work on a locked T-Mobile UK device as yet?

Use the t-mob 005 ROM.
You don't need to unlock if it's a T-Mobile UK AMEO it'll just upgrade without a hitch. Just click on the ROM upgrade utility icon once you've connected your AMEO via activesync and wait for it to do its thing.
It's really very easy.

I have a T-Mobile UK Ameo and had to CID unlock before upgrading. I wonder if there aren't different batches or slightly different OEM ROM's? When reading through the threads it seems that some guys had to unlock whilst others could upgrade without any fuss. Well mine is unlocked now anyway and WM6 is running without any glitches so far

Can you backup the current version with everything on?? i dont want to lose the t-mobile stuff on the phone (internet sharing etc).
I pay monthly to allow my computer to use the 3g internet from the phone and i dont want to lose that

You may use ShellTool which will extract and flash only the OS portion for you.

You will need to CID unlock your device before you can flash the T-Mobile firmware to your 8125. The G4 CID unlock is ready for use I think. I would do a bit of reading to hear all of the trial and error and read the update history and make sure I know what I was getting into before starting. Fortunately, I have a G3 and it is CID unlocked. Unfortunately, It's currently broken and is un-usable...

You need to try it yourself to see which is the best one for your network and location.
Radio ROMs can be found in xda's FTP site (ftp://xda:[email protected]) under Wizard directory.

No, changing radio ROM does not require a CID-unlocked device, just run the Radio-only RUU directly and you're done.
