A2DP on the Lobster ? - HTC Monet

Clearly the phone is capable of streaming audio because it's in the manual, but Virgin must have disabled it for some reason.
Can anyone please try to get A2DP to work on this phone ????

PS just seen the Application unlock for HTC monet, so I'll try that then retry Toenado hack!

The Tornado hack works!
You have to application unlock the phone first.

I found the best registery edit tool was PHM.

I also had to manually enter and edit all registery data by hand as I could not find a way to import the Registery file provided.

Once unlocked the Tornado hack Works brilliantly with Media Player but get broken and juddery audio when listening to DAB radio. Anyone got any thoughts?
I've also been trying to find a spare headset for the Lobster as I lost mine. Could not find them on the internet and eventually after quite a few calls to Virgin Mobile (who first told me to contact HTC who then told me to talk to Virgin) they have provided me with a replacement pair. Virgin say they do not list spares or accessories for this phone when you first contact them but perserverance pays off.
If I find my old pair I'll going to replace the earphones with a 3.5mm jack socket and hopefully then have a way of connecting into other HiFi equipment.

I've been playing with Tornado PowerControl and the A2DP registery settings to try and get the A2DP working with the DAB Radio.
Basically I've try overclocking the Lobster. As I increase clock speed the bluetooth streaming of the DAB audio improves. However, before the audio becomes acceptable (with incraesed clock rates) the DAB hardware ceases to work. It seems that the DAB hardware cannot work with higher clock rates but the processor capacity required by the bluetooth and the DAB radio outstrips the processor capacity available.
It may just be that Vthe tech guys who put together the Lobster intended it to have A2DP capability but found that the processing capability was not sufficent to power A2DP and DAB functions simulataeously! Hence, the manual was written stating A2DP was available but end product could not deliver. So it was most probably simpler to ship the final unit with no A2DP capability.
This is just a guess. If anybody has any other thoughts I be interested to hear them.
In the mean time I'm still trying to adjust the A2DP registery setting and Over clocking the lobster in the persuit of a working DAB/A2DP config.

Hey, this really does work!!
Manually updating the registry was a little scary, but I just followed the guide and I'm now up and running too.
I agree that its a shame about the DAB / A2DP incompatibility, but it's not much of a big deal as you have to have to ariel (hardwired headset) plugged into the Lobster to listen to DAB anyway.
Still I'm still very impressed

Help I'm stuck
Newbie cant get this to work desperately seeking help!!
Have followed instructions.
Under [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{7AAC2B28-5DD1-4052-81DD-E17114EE96B6}]
I have
Default = WMP Mobile A2DP Plugin
and
InProcServer32 with
Default = Avrcp_MPplugin.dll
ThreadingModel = free
I've double checked all other items on the zip file and they look ok.
The only diff I can see is taht under the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\BtA2dpSnd]
"Flags"=dword:00010002
"Index"=dword:00000008
"Order"=dword:00000008
I dont see the leading zeros.
When I connect the headst I get "wireless stereo" which I select.
But when I go into media player I only get sound out of the speaker and nothing from the headset.
Any Ideas what I may have done wrong ???

Now looking at the under Breaksoft Mobile Registry Editor (on the PC connected to the Lobster via USB)

Prefix STRING WAV
You didn't mention the "Dll STRING bta2dp.dll" or the "Prefix STRING WAV" in your post either. Did you create these Strings?

Thanks for help - have now solved and now working fine. I hadnt copied one of the fiiles correctly ! Now all cable free.

Trying to get the A2DP hack to work on the Lobster but no luck, so need help.
According to the guide at XDA forums, the 3 dll files should be copied over to /windows via active sync.
I guess this means copy the 3 dll's to 'my windows mobile icon' because I can't find any folder specifically named windows.
Then I copied to the device and executed the Tor_A2DP_cert.CAB and it installed successfully.
Now using registry editor, I reached [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID but the required registry '{7AAC2B28-5DD1-4052-81DD-E17114EE96B6}' is not there.
If the 3 dll's installed on to the device and the Tor_A2DP_cert.CAB ran, then why is the '{7AAC2B28-5DD1-4052-81DD-E17114EE96B6}' registry not there ?
what am I doing wrong ?

spoke too soon !
I though it was going to be okay but I spoke too soon.
I can now connect to headphones, music is streamed, but I'm getting a "stutter" every 15 seconds or so, you really cant listen to it.
I've checked and double checked every setting and it all looks okay.
If I playback through the built in speaker everything is perfect so its not the player.
Has anyone else had the same problem ? and have those that have it working, is it perfect ?
I've got 2 different Sony headsets and results are same with both.
I dont know if the problem is it is bufferring data and then transferring, if it is are there any settings that can be tweaked ?
