Upgrading Qtek 8500 - HTC Startrek

I am trying to update my ROM on my QTEK. I am using i-mate smartflip WWE 1.2.301.2_ship. I initially have a connection through activesync but when the device reboots it comes up to the bootloader screen (rainbow screen) and loses connection. After that the upgrade fails with a connection error. Any suggestions?

still waiting on a CID unlock tool to be able to flash to a different vendors' rom.

why dont you just pay throught that web site imei-check

Jamin rom downfall

I tried to upgrade my imate jamin s200 to smart1_wm6_pp8mb. since the operation did not finished I unplugged the usb cable, therefore the machine didn't work and opening now. now some messages are appearing on the screen (IPL:2.15.0001; SPL 2.15.0001; GSM 02.19.21; OS:10.1.0.811)
i need your urgently help... How can i fix it this problem and upgrade my rom again?
Put your Jamin into bootloader mode (camera button hold+softreset with stylus), connect it via USB (not on a hub!!!!) with your PC and try to flash the last update of Qtek, Orange, iMate or something else you like! If your device booting after this correctly you can re-try the flash to WM6!
I switched yesterday many times between Qtek 2.20 Ger, Orange UK, O2 Ger nd smart1's clear WM6 and had no problems during this!
Thank you very much, could you plase upload here i cant find the last update ,
i''m waiting you..
i dont know what is my qtek last update How can i learn it?
When you want to know what ROM you have flashed to your device, go to Start -> Settings -> System -> Device Information! Here you can find all information you need!
By the way: the latest Qtek update for the S200 is 2.20! You can find it trough Gooogle or the board search! Good luck!

Hi animelover,
Just a question...Do you use the OS extract tool to flash only the os without changing the IPL/SPL, or the roms that you wrote about have no IPL/SPL upgrade? I mean did you fash directly or you flashed only the extracted OS?
Thanks!

Xda Mini S (G4) Stuck

Hi,
I had successfully used ShellTool to load Crossbow Reloaded v1.5 on my Xda Mini S (G4 CID-Locked)
But then I became inquisitive and I tried loading the WM6 Business Edition.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=302934
The process interrupted abruptly as the activesync connection broke (Don't know why that happened.) However I restart the device and now it is stuck on the initial blue O2 screen displaying IPL, SPL, GSM and OS information.
Now it is mentioned here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293480
That if the device does not boot I should restart it in the bootloader (which I did), connect the usb and run RUU. But the download (Wizard_Love_2.26.10.2_WWE_Novii+CF2.rar) contains newromupdateutility_wizard_noid.exe and on running that I get the CONNECTION ERROR. I think this is happening because in bootloader, actyivesync cannot connect.
Sorry I am a novice in this... please help.
Regards.
Activesync will not connect from the bootloader. This is not a problem. Activesync is not needed to flash your phone. You just need the USB connection in the bootloader. As long as you see the letters USB in the corner you can flash.
Did you use the shelltool in the attempt to load the other WM6 rom? And if ActiveSync is required to use the shelltool then you may have to flash an official carrier rom in your current state (one that matches your CID so it will flash) and once your device boots again you should be able to use the shelltool and load the other rom that you want.
Personally this sounds like a big hassle to me and if it were me I would just pay the 25 bucks or whatever it is to get the unlocking software from the unlocker website and CID unlock my device so I could pretty much flash at will (G4 safe roms of course)
Downloaded the original rom from my-xda.com and it worked. Got the original system back.
Just updated to faria's wm6 using the same shelltool and all works fine. Looking at voip now.
thanks for the suggestion.
Cheers..

bootloader recovery prob :(

Hi all,
I have tried the bootloader recovery but when I try and install the NVID rom while on the bootloader screen, it says error (260) the update utility cannot connect to your pda/phone. However on my vista machine the device manager recognises a HTC 'pocket pc usbsync device' while my prophet is connected on bootloader.
I did upgrade from PT VII to Crystal 2 (no error messages) without downgrading to WM5 NVID first. I only did this because I had an error that seemed to not let me downgrade to the NVID rom, so then I got lazy. My bootloader still comes on and if I reset normally it just gets stuck on Qtek screen showing OS 6.0.0.1 - is there still hope?
Just if anyone has a suggestion + thanks for the great work on these wm6 roms.

you have to go to bootloader mode .. press camera button and hold it then reset your phone , then keep holding the camera until you get to bootloader. then connect your ppc to you pc. don't care about activsync. just run the wm5 downgrade. you should be able to upgrade after you downgrade to wm5.
Success! - it appears that it was my PC running Windows Vista which is not initially compatible with running the RUU rom update files whilst in bootloader.

Also, http://mrvanx.org has downgrade guides. Great one.
Its been awhile since I've used spb backup, but I thought that there as an option to selectively restore files. Have you tried this?
Latest AT&T WM5 rom is avilable direct from HTC... just download it and flash away... Puts you right back to latest shipped settings.

What are you trying to recover though?

I had this once too!
If you grab the official AT&T WM5 ROM from the WIKI this error will not appear!
Another workaround: extract the nbh file from your downloaded WM5 and flash it with CUSTOMRUU

Upgrading predicament

Hello,
I wish to upgrade my Orange SPV M3100 to WM6 or 6.1.
Unfortunately, I can't establish an ActiveSync connection with my PC. I plug in the USB cable but nothing happens - the phone charges, nothing else. I have tried with 3 other PCs and they give the same result.
Therefor, I can't install HardSPL, which means I can't upgrade to WM6, as there are none for my CID.
On that subject: the upgrading guide says the flash will not work if the CID doesn't match. Does this mean "using the wrong ROM to match your CID will brick the phone"?
I just thought I'd point out that contact has been made via Bluetooth, however I don't think this is suitable for installing HardSPL.
EDIT:
After some experimentation, guessing, and praying, I've managed to upgrade the phone.
