How-To build an OEM Package:
An OEM Package is just a simple folder containing files and registry settings for the ROM
First of all you'll need a GUID number for your Package.
Go to http://www.famkruithof.net/uuid/uuidgen to get one.
In my case:
283b9db7-cb03-4c1b-820e-ca49b2c3b5db
Necessary steps:
Create a new folder:
OEM/[Your package name]/
Create a empty text file:
OEM/[Your package name]/283b9db7-cb03-4c1b-820e-ca49b2c3b5db.dsm
(The Kitchen will finish this file for you)
If needed:
Create an UNICODE text file:
OEM/[Your package name]/283b9db7-cb03-4c1b-820e-ca49b2c3b5db.rgu
This file could be used to add registry entries to the ROM
First line is:
REGEDIT4
...
and there MUST be a empty line at the end!!
Create an UNICODE text file:
OEM/[Your package name]/initflashfiles.txt
This file could be used to create folders or copy files on the ROM.
Example: Open OEM/OEM_Lang_0409/initflashfiles.dat using a text editor
*Do Not Edit This*
Copy all files you need to OEM/[Your package name]/
If you want an OEM package made and cant do it yourself then donate to the Athena Project and PM me the cab

I agree that some of the other forums have been overrun with people making their own ROMs and posting them, but it might be a nice idea for there to be one thread where people can share their work with others if they have cooked their own ROM. When I had my Hermes, I liked looking at what other people had done and it gave people a bit more choice. I'm not saying that PK3.0 isn't incredible (it truly is!) but there might be people who would like to try something else and maybe don't trust themselves with the ROM kitchen.
Hats off to midget for this fine kitchen!
Hi Midget,
Congratulations with the kitchen
I don't own a Athena (Omni is my priority), but I sertainly have a look at this kitchen and see what I can use for the UNI.
Thanks,
Leo
Just sond my hermes, getting an athena soon, and i think its great that here in the athena forum, you have a rula stopping every man and his dog like you said, posting roms. In hermes, everyday, theres some new cook, who just strips down schaps roms, or adds some random program to a rom. There are very few true cooks, and i think you have the right idea here, not letting everyone add their own very indifferent roms to clutter the forum. Maybe it would be an idea to make a thread to either post oem packages, (ive never had much luck making them) or their roms. But i guess then people would discuss each and evey rom in the same thread, and it would be impossible to get the information you need.
Anyways, looking forward to donating to the athena project, and getting ym athena. Is the athena project still going?

Can you tell me how to translate the AP_kitchen to non-english? I have tried for a long time. but my U1000 always stoped at second flash.

about Wm6 XIP and SYS Porting

only replace one file-coredll.dll ?
It depends on what you are porting
WM6.1 must change all XIP Module address, search around the forum for plenty of info, there's a tool that does it automatically somewhere in this forum... I forget where
Please help me, I unable find. Search “tool that does it automatically”. Tell me
Thank you

Kitchen for GENE and New GENE??

Hey Guys,
Its been a while since i am visiting this forum. I've seen that most of the phone specific Upgrading/Modifying sections have atleast one thread about a kitchen for that particular phone. But this is not the case with P3400 and P3400i also known as GENE and the New Gene.
Why is it so? There are 3-4 ROMS available for gene and now 1 for the New Gene too but none of the authors have shared the kitchen they used for the purpose.
I know there is a thread by a moderator in this forum where he has shared the tools he used for the purpose, but the thread is not written in such a way that it can be of use for a new person.
So i request all the senior members who have experiance with cooking roms for P3400 and P3400i to share the process and tools in a clear way so more good ROMs can be made by other people too or atleast some modifications can be tried out to make the existing ones work better.
That would be a good step for all.
I made a Kitchen for gene and i'm planning to release it soon. I need to correct some bugs and made a tutorial.
here is the link
but i don't have account on 4pda.ru
if any body has 4pda.ru account download and create mirror link
Thanks Ankit, i managed to create an account on 4pda.ru by translating russian into english by the Yahoo Babelfish service. It was quiet difficult but i somehow managed to do it. Currenlt downloading the file. Will post a mirror soon.
In the meantime, can anyone suggest a filesharing website where i can upload it for free and forever? On rapidshare they delete the uploaded file after sometime.
Hey guys!
Here is the mirror link for the GENE Kitchen. This kitchen is for both new and old gene. Kudos to Ankit for finding it
http://www.4shared.com/file/76585257/8f1b219e/gene_kitchen.html
But one thing still unsolved, the readme file is in i dont know what language, its not even Russian. And the files inside the kitchen also contain russian versions as far as i can guess.
Can anybody throw some light on how to use this kitchen to generate a stock WM 6.1 ROM without any custom software and ALL the default software. One thing i can guess is that if i want all the default features included then i'll have to move all the stuff from "Removed from Sys" folder to Sys folder. Am i right?

Ya i thought about that, but i guess 4Shared is good too. Is anybody having problem downloading the kitchen from 4shared?
Any updates on the Kitchen Guys??? I have managed to get the translation of the Readme done by Google translate. I have attached the translated file.
This kitchen is made from a Russian ROM as a base. So its unusable as far as i am concerned. Some tools, although are intresting. I have managed to make an automated batch script to dump a ROM Image's (.nbh file) contents into a folder. I call it ROMAnalyzer
To use it:
--------------
Extract the ROMAnalyzer.zip to a folder. Copy your ROM file to the directory. Now drag it to either FullDump.cmd or OSDump.cmd to start the process. Check out the output folder for the dump.
The difference between FullDump and OSDump is that FullDump dumps the imgfs filesystem and also leaves the XIP, NB and TXT files in the output folder for furthur analysis. OSDump just dumps the OS files.
Don't know whether it would be useful to anyone or not. Just sharing what i got. I use it to look into new ROMS after downloading them to see whats included, and sometimes, copy stuff off them like games, tones etc

6.1 to 6.5 Charmer Professional Kitchen by Swampy395

Hello guys and gals
I did say I would post a Kitchen for Charmer and here it is 6.1 to 6.5Complete and ready to cook
A big thanks to all the developer's that post there tools and work so we can all cook ROM's without them there would be no ROM's
Thanks guys your the Best
This will biuld a 6.1 M2D 5.2.20273 rom in 3 styles it's based on BEPE's tools and is easy to port to any build to learn more about this Kitchen go here http://www.darkforcesteam.com/showthread.php?t=569 read carfully and you'll find that you can have multi lang and many other options too
The OEM folder is my latest and will port to all 6.1 and 6.5 builds without you touching IT so unless you know what you are doing don't touch it this contains all the needed files for the charmer's hardware!!
The EXT folder can be edited as much as you like ( at your own risk of course ) read the above link note study the 3 folder's and you'll see that editing the image file's will change the look of your rom
To add a new color theme Open 1 of the *.bat files and edit the 3 or 5 points in red bellow then save_as New?????color v*.bat
"set BUILD=Color"
"move .\temp\OS-new.nb .\****_*****\_Swampy395_Cham_color_v2_0409_20273_OS.nb"
"tools\namedate /F /t /y .\****_*****\_Swampy395_Cham_color_v2_0409_20273_OS.nb"
To learn more about OEM's go Here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=OEM Package Tutorial
To port a new build to the Kitchen see the video's in the first link above and think a little about it, there are many ready made XIP and SYS folder's if you search this forum clue:- QVGA 96DPI
Hope you like my kitchen happy cooking

I Don't ask for your "cash" but your feed back would be nice
P.S. ask any questions in this post so all can learn from each other's questions and please read this thread before asking
Nice kitchen. Maybe we'll get some new devs cause of it. Well done.

Hi mate this is a professional kitchen it's not hard to port to any build
this is all you need from a new build
MSXIPKernel
MSXIPKernelLTK
SYS
Almost everything? that's that mean???
Tell me something usefull and i may be able to help
I recomend you build the rom that came with the kitchen first and learn to edit/change things
I replaced the SYS and MSXIPKernel folders. Used wm6.5 SYS/XIP. Then _skip packages which do not need me.
Then build OS

this kitchen requires the "MSXIPKernelLTK" from the new built somtimes you need to download the xip.bin of the new build and dumpit to get "MSXIPKernelLTK" but you must have IT.
Never edit "OEMXIPKERNEL" this is the charmer kernel and must be used for every build, also romhdr.bin that came with the kitchen copyed into new build folder,
As kitchen is when first unpacked and
Don't forget to edit the ?????.bat file or you'll get the old build

lolite rom cooking help

I've managed to cook and flash successfully my first rom with ervius visual kitchen. Nothing special, just update of official wwe rom with 21054 XIP & SYS.
I get always an error with latest version of visual kitchen, no matter if I changed something or not, and finally I succeed with a previous version from Sous-Chef's Guide.
I tried to cook a wm6.5 with latest 23403 XIP & SYS, found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544445
but now the device stucks in htc mobility screen.
I ported xip.bin with these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4401715&postcount=2
and I created the rom with and without "real wm6.5 aku" checked, but after flash both, the device stucks in htc mobility screen.
I suppose that the problem is with XIP, so needed some editing to make it work?
I found the solution!
Because lolite haven't a native wm6.5 kernel it's needed to convert some modules to files.
After I convert Browsing, Browsingcore and Browsingie folder modules the rom boots normally(needed to wait too long to access align screen though).
Hi!
Does anybody have information about the default value of pagepool in Iolite? And where I can find it in *.nbh file?

Yes, I found it already, but when building rom kitchen anyway change it to 6Mb
In the Build_log.txt I found: "XIP PagePool from: 6 Mb, to: 6 Mb"
Where I can change it in the kitchen?
You can change it if you "press Other" and change the number on -PP box.
But as I read, Pagepool is better to be smaller cause you will have more memory. The larger size is for stability when you run a lot of apps the same time, but I think this is not usual to run a lot apps the same time for ppc users.
Anyway, a size of 6-8 MB it's good. Search in forum to find more info about it.

O, thanks, i missed this button
I know about dependency Pagepool vs RAM, but Iolite has too much RAM, so as for me, it's better to set default value and forget about it
After Ervius kitchen I have header of *.nbh file like in attachment. Is it correct header or smth missing?
I have no device yet, so i can't check if it is right or wrong header
wont it be great if some of the great cookers such as dancer_69 can come up with a tutorial on how to cook a rom.. it would definitely benefit the whole iolite community..
I'm not so good in writing and my english also, and I'm definitely not a great cooker. I just search in the forum to find some tutorials, and also ask if I had some problems and sometimes I get some usefull awnsers from the great cookers.
Thanks to ervius and his visual kitchen, cooking became easier and there are a lot of infos and great tutorials here, in the forum:

To be honest, it is far so better to find how to cook by yourself. You will get more knowledge and experience, which help you when solving problems. For example: I also have Vox smartphone and I am learning on it. I got stuck on some stuff, but I solved it by myself and now I know where I made mistakes.
Great tools like Ervius visual kitchen makes all this stuff really easy (sort of click, cook and eat ), but you still need to know, how it works. And don't forget that you still can brick your device.
