Hi All,
I ordered the HTC y cable and 3.5mm stereo adapter from Expansys over 2 weeks ago.
The y cable (according to their website was IN STOCK) and there was a 4 day wait for the 3.5mm adapter.
Well its been two weeks since then and this is the status of my order till it arrives at their store.
Y cable - ESTIMATED 11 DAYS
3.5mm ADAPTER - ESTIMATED 31 DAYS.
I called them up yesterday about this and they said that they have over 400 orders on the above and that HTC hasnt supplied them stock since Q4 of last year.
So why do they mislead their customers and say some items are in stock and some have only "4 days" till they get stock. Its been 2 damn weeks already and it may have to wait another month.
This is false advertising.
I will call them up later this week and see what is going on (they already have my money) before deciding whether or not I should speak to a consumer ombudsman.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i had a smiliar problem with my p4350 and treo 680 batteries. i ordered them and both were in stock after about 4 days but my online status said that it would take about 5 days more because of the treo 680 battery which was in stock when i ordered (they waited for the p4350 battery at the beginning).
after i complained via email (to expansys germany) they offered to ship the order seperately free of extra charge but i had to wait several more days for the treo 680 battery to be shipped.
then the status said both items were shipped and i got both of them the next day.
have to say i wanted to cancel order, suddenly it CAN be shipped. very strange shop.
but i got the 3,5mm adapter from doml.com much cheaper and after about 1 week (shipping to GER). so better order it there ...
ps: they also said that some items are in stock but from their us storehouse, and then it would take about a week to arrive there.
I had the same problem.... was 4 days when i ordered. been 2 weeks now, and the status is STILL 10 days.
there are others that are perhaps now better that wont be available until 15th Feb, at this rate they will arrive before the one I ordered weeks ago.
i have had similar problems with expansys, they promise what they cant deliver, i believe with deceptive and misleading conduct, knowing that they cannot possibly meet the demands with available supply.
the only saving grace i can find with them is that they dont take your money till they deliver the goods.
They told me that until both of my items are in stock, they won't ship, and they DON'T hold one item until the other comes in. I cancelled my order and went elsewhere...
bastards..... they think they can get away with anything...
Yep, been waiting for my items for about a month already.
me too
Order Placed: 1/3/2007 7:38 PM London UK Time
Customer:
Main Status: Awaiting Stock
Explanation: We are currently awaiting the stock required to fulfil your order.
Notes:
Remaining to be shipped: ORA HTC extUSB Stereo Headset Adaptor
Item Qty - 1
Ordered Qty - 1
Remaining Status - Usually Ships In 5 Days
my order status as of yesterday was 4 days for both items.
Checked today and it has increased to 10 days for both.
Based on the stats, they have 400 orders for the usb splitter and 3.5mm adapter, so if everyone pulls out they will lose around $20K.
Maybe we should email them and link them this thread.
I gave up on Expansys over a year ago. Their inventory system is nothing but a stack of BS. At one point I waited 3 months on an item, received the wrong item, had to argue for weeks that it really was wrong, and they still took 4 months to issue a credit.
It's a shame, because they used to be pretty good, but I suspect they just got too big to be customer friendly anymore
A friend of mine sent them an email concerning an Sony Ericsson phone because it was for sale on expansys but not on mobile planet (hes in the US) so they told him to order it off the expansys site and it'd take up to 14 days.. guess what, he never got it. This guys an idiot and never called or emailed to check it up so about a month later i called them for him and they said they will ship it in a week, never shipped so i called back and demanded a refund, btw they charged his credit card the 2nd day he put the order in.
They tried to give him store credit +50usd on expansys, not mobile planet instead of a refund. Thats some bull****, so i finally argued with them and threatened legal action blah blah and they refunded it.
Although right when the US expansys partnered with mobileplanet.com i ordered pocketpctechs screen protectors off them for my device and everything went smoothily, so i guess don't order things that are in high demand and maybe call them before making an order to make sure they have it in stock..?

Your not going to want to hear this but... HAVE PATIENTS!!!
I ordered mine on the 23rd Feb. It said 10 days. I checked it daily and the number of days went up and down like a yoyo.
Last wednesday it got as low as 4 days.
Thursday i checked again and it jumped up to 25 days, but with nothing else available i decided to wait.
Friday it said 13 days in the AM (i think)
Then Friday PM it said dispatched.
Sure enough it arrived Saturday morning...which was almost exactly the 10 days the site first said it would
I've since made an adapter out of mine... and so have a decent setup in my car!
(I just wonder if any of you that canceled your order helped me jump a place or two in the que speeding up my delivery?)
Expensive but im happy!
Mine finally arrived 2 days ago... it took a month from the time it was ordered to the time it arrived...
Oh Well... At least is does work.
Patience I will have if they correctly state the waiting times for their items.
If it says 4 days, people will most likely purchase hoping to receive it then.
They take your money and then hit you with a Month waiting list.
Now I do not know which country you guys are from, but in Australia that is illegal. the ACCC (Consumer Watchdog) should be notified about this as they are purposefully misleading the public.
Have you ever been to the Expansys dispatch/head office in Victoria? VERY unorganised, almost like a garage type setup. Every time I've had to deal with them I've had problems, they're a waste of time.
Mobileplant uses shady business practices
I have experienced everything described on this thread with Mobileplant. The worst thing is no one else is selling these HTC accessories. Where else can we go?
A few years ago they were expensive with great service. Now they are very expensive with lousy service, and use shady business practices. If I can get it anywhere else I do.
i ordered the ora 3.5mm adapter from expansys usa (mobileplanet), the one with the mic built in and hangup/answer button 2 days ago. it shipped yesterday.
Why not order your accessories through eBay. That's what I've done for years. It's much cheaper and most of the sellers run businesses so the shipping is quick.
Thats interesting... i have had great experiences with Expansys... i ordered my first 838Pro when they came out and it was on my door in 12 hours... but i havent ordered accessories as they are always hard to come by...
by law expansys cannot charge your CC until items have been shipped... if you want to part ship them they can split the order then charge what has been shipped to your CC...
so its been over 1 month since i placed my order on 12.02.2007 and i got nothing. I kept emailing them every day but they do not repond
i have order from expansys.de , payed though papypal but nothing

anyone have any idea how long the turnaround should be on warranty repair? I sent it in from the states and its been over a month and I have had no updates or an ETA. I called support and the guy said he didn't know and the person who would isn't in..... The next call got me the "something happened in the warehouse and I can't tell you when you'll see your device.
I'm usually pretty easy going but they have almost had my tablet longer than I have.
It took 1.5 months for them to return my charger that I sent back
Sent from my ARCHOS 80G9 using XDA Premium HD app
Got an email today finally. Apparently they ran out of stock in the warehouse. Should be mailing out my replacement in another 5 to7 days.
it must be because youre in the states you know. i sent my archos 80g9 8gb standard version back last week and got a replacement upgrade 80g9 16gb 1.5ghz turbo version within 4 days. and was quite happy
they dont repair products under warranty. so im thinking you may also get a free upgrade.
i think it will probably be something to do with the us customs . last time i bought something from the states i got 2 bills through the post where the us customs and the uk customs checked through my package and charged me for it.
Still no word of the replacement shipping out. I don't normally ***** but this is kinda silly.
I'm sure an upgrade to 16 Gb or something would soften me up, but that is just not my luck.
Their RMA said would take 10-15 business days in the states after they received it. I was on 3 weeks post receipt with no word. I contacted them via their chat. They said it will be shipping in 2-3 days. So, I guess a month would seem realistic.
Here's hoping I get one of those upgrades!
Wow, I hope I don't have to be without my tablet for a month. My RMA'd tablet was just delivered to them yesterday. It is a biatch to read my school books on my laptop.... I miss my G9.
oh no! hopefully I'm shipping my device soon once i get a reply back for my repair request...i hope it doesnt take a month
Well I got my tablet back Thursday. They received it on Feb. 2nd and I got my replacement on the 22nd of March. No free upgrade though. I will say that this one seems to have a better build quality than the original. There is absolutely no screen defect at all. It came loaded with ics too.
Also I had to get the plugins that I already bought on this one. It was not too difficult once I filled out the form on their page. I got an email back in less than a day and then just added my device to my account on the website and downloaded it.
As much as I love my G9 I am thinking about selling it once it returns from RMA. I am not a big fan of spending $300 on a device to have it sent back for a manufacturing defect and not see a replacement for over a month.
I'm starting to get annoyed. I chatted with them last week and they said it would be 2-3 days. That's was 10 days ago. I talked to them Monday and they said it would ship in today or tomorrow (it's now Weds.). This is getting ridiculous. They have now had the device for over month and it still has not shipped. I jokingly said it should ship Friday (after they said Mon or Tues), I hope I'm that lucky. Frustrated.
I sent my 80 g9 in two weeks ago and didn't hear anything. So I contacted the support yesterday and I've got my replacement today. Unluckily it's no turbo version, so no free upgrade for me

Sent mine through the UK Post Office Special Next Day Service (Not sure if they collect international though). Was there and replaced the next day and a new tablet was shipped same day. Only problem is that it was sorted and sent out by them on friday so gotta wait the whole weekend for it now >< .
As for insurance the special delivery next day was insured for up to £500 so well over the actual tablet price.

Lucky, us in the US have to wait more than a month for a replacement. I use mine for my school books and had to buy a Kindle Fire as a temporary replacement.
UPS should insure, I use them all the time and get insurance on everything I send out. You can also use USPS or Fedex, they have insurance as well.

So after 5 weeks in Archos' possession, I finally get my tablet back. I'm a very excited. The dead spots are fixed!
Unfortunately, the excitement didn't last long. I now have screen ripples and the lock-ups are worse than ever! The sound still cuts out, but I'm starting to think that is due to a bad sound chip design. The frequent lock-ups could be related to 4.0.5. Time to contact Archos support again.
My tablets away tomorrow aswell, Loose Micro USB connection.
It was bought from Currys who told me that they don't repair Archos products, Only a replacement from them, Or a direct replacement if the store is in stock - Which it isn't so when I take it in tomorrow, They'll check over it and deliver a new one out to me next week some time?
Really strange that they don't repair the products ..
Thanks in advance
Jamie

So, I pre ordered a C6833 from Clove what seems like an eternity ago & they finally have a date of when the handsets will be shipping. According to their site update this morning: First stock confirmed arriving 12th September, for dispatch on the 13th. Its a shame they'll be shipping out on a Friday as you can almost guarantee that means they'll arrive on Monday rather than Saturday.
I'm sure Sony will confirm this launch date later today in Berlin.

I phoned Clove earlier & asked about the chances of a Saturday delivery. The guy told me if I'd chosen Royal Mail as the delivery method it would be quite likely. If I'd chosen another courier it would almost definitely be a Monday delivery. I changed it over to royal mail on the phone

Well even if yours arrives on Monday you'll be pleased anyway to have a SmartWatch 2 and a SBH20 FOR FREE!
I have to check here for some offers, because 612 GBP plus 26 GBP (s&h) will result in like 750 euros, which is A LOT.
BUT, official Italian Sony site says the base price for the Z Ultra s 729 euros, so I guess I'll have to think about it, given that here a SW2 would cost 199 euros...
I have a friend going to NY mid September, but even with the exchange at 1.35 it wold cost me more than that...
What to do... What to dooooooooo??
EDIT: now that I've seen samsung and Sony (ironically my S3 writes the two initial "s" as I wrote them ) conferences, I'm more than ever convinced on the ZU.
Other than that, buying the ZU from Clove seems a real deal, but I wanted to ask some of you if they have had previous experiences, as in if I incur in some problems, will they change my device, are they reliable? Do they answer promptly to email (as I'm in Italy, I won't be phoning but emailing instead)?

This is my first purchase from Clove although they have been on my radar for a couple of years now so I can't help you with return issues sorry. I did however email them a few times with nagging questions about when they would be expecting the ZU to arrive etc. TBH they took over a day to respond to my emails. They did respond every time & but it wasn't as quick as I'd of liked. Speaking to them by phone seems to be the best method as they have always been polite, helpful & quick to answer any questions.
It does seem like an excellent deal when comparing the freebies from Clove & the prices other retailers are selling just the handset for...

I bought one white ZU (plus SmartWatch 2 and SBH20, luckily it's written on the receipt so no one could tell me "you weren't in time" ), and a DK30 dock for a total of about 674 GBP, a little more than 800 EUR. According to the Sony official site in Italy, I would have spent a little less than 1K EUR, so that's a real deal for me.
What I don't understand is, as this is a preorder (well, part of it, since the DK30 is in stock right now), why they billed me for the full order right away.
I was under the impression that there were a complex following of security questions, and that the billing would be when the product is actually in stock, but I may have misunderstood that.
Could you confirm that when you go to your account, under your order it says "BACKORDER"?
I thought it meant that they had a product and they don't anymore, but maybe they use it as in "we don't have it", full stop.
Waiting for your confirmation...

Yeah, mine says the same... I ordered a sbh52 before I'd ordered the handset as I knew I was going to get it any way & that says preorder but the handset says backorder.
When I spoke to the guy on the phone the other day he assured me I would receive the smartwatch etc & that mine would be from the first batch as I was one of the first orders (August 9th)

Ok, thanks, you really relieved me.
I assume that either they have a lot of handsets on the way, or they didn't have many orders until now.
Anyway, I don't care as long as I have my handset for monday/thursday (I chose FedEx, they're usually quick...)...

I ordered the ZU from Clove ages ago and took payment then so nothing to worry about.
Eagerly awaiting its arrival. What colour did you guys go for? I went for white (my first white Xperia), as it looks more premium than the black version. Which ones did you go for?
I went for black. My Note 2 was white (first white handset I've owned) & I always regretted it when I saw the grey version...
I'll put up with the finger print magnet black this time

I have to say I'm still in two minds - I love the white aluminium finish on the sides and the back will show fingerprint marks less.
However, I'm not keen on the front of the device with the white border, which takes away some of the immersion when viewing content.
I'm in half-a-mind to change, but can't decide. I've been umming and ahhing for days now!
Almost had the same thought - use one of the light backcovers if blacks back is freaking you out.
Giving you the generally harmonious design of the black version, and leaves you alone with cleaning session if you're bugged of it.
Very close to switching my order now, the more I think about it, I think black will be better overall. The XZU will go into a case anyway, so the fingerprint problem isn't too much of an issue.
I just opened an account and ordered the C6833 LTE from here.

Personally I'll be selling the free accessories, so all in ill be paying £400ish for the device.
But seriously dude even if people were paying double that, just let them spend their money as they see fit, its no concern of yours.

Not in my country I'm not. In my country it costs ~£640, I bought it from Clove at 675, but while in my country I would have had only the handset, with that money I paid the handset, a SmartWatch 2, a bluetooth headset SBH20, a DK30 dock, and I also paid for priority shipping.
I won't sell the accessories simply because I would have bought them anyway, so, for me, this is saving money, not "paying stupid money".
You wanna get it in February when it costs 450? Suit yourself, nobody is telling you what to do.
And by the way, I've seen people spending three times what was worth a PlayStation 1 when it first came out just to buy it on D1, and the same thing happens over and over again with hundreds of items, so go and wait for a price cut while we stand in line to get our first batch.

I also ordered my XZU way back in early August(Seems like forever) and saw the confirmed date...I had messaged Clove just after that date was posted and they replied that they still did not have a confirmed date from Sony, so I don't know what to make of this and will hope that this is indeed true....

OOOHHH credit yummy might be able to afford before the december debt free mark soo tempting!!
N1NJATH3ORY - can you get it cheaper or are you just going to wait for the prices to drop?
Probably will be importing the RN2 to the US.. Where are the cheapest and best places to get this device from? I'm worried that either: I'll get a fake, long shipping times or never receiving the product or wont honor any warranty issues.
Im new to MIUI, is there a custom recovery that I'll need? Do i have to worry about unlocking a bootloader? If so, can i relock for warranty issues?
EverBuying.Net has it for $174.99 (http://www.everbuying.net/product1078806.html). I have never used them myself so I can't vouch either way. But at the same time, the RN2 is a known quantity, and whichever dealer you buy it from should get you the same thing (+/- customer service). I do have an order for one myself at GearBest, but it is a complete disaster, and I would not recommend them at the moment. I preordered it on 3 Sep, they charged my credit card on 14 Sep and said it would ship in 3-5 days, and now ~6 weeks later it is still in the processing stage. I have used GearBest in the past for other stuff, and even though orders have taken up to 5-6 days in processing, they have never been like this. For some reason, they are filling orders that arrived much later like end September and early October before filling the preorders.
I bought mine from minideal.net.
Originally placed an order with gearbest they requested a copy of my credit card and driving license and said it was extra security measures.
I didn't feel comfprtable so I cancelled the order.
Placed the order with minideal.net on a Saturday night received the phone Friday mid-day so essentially took 4 and a half working days to get here (i did pay a bit extra for DHL) worth it in my opinion.
Im from germany
I bought it from Spain for 240 € ( Amazon )
It came with a otg cable a back cover
and glass Front cover
Its the prime model

Everbuying and Gearbest are the same company! Good luck! I too have received excellent service from Gearbest as well as horrible delays, lies from Gearbest. You puts down your money and you takes your chances!
Thanks guys for your input.. minideal for some reason isnt letting me enter a USA address. But looks promising with the screen protector and case.
Now im worried as I was going to buy from gearbest or everbuying
any other options that are similarly priced with a 1yr warranty?

GearBest finally sent me a shipping notification this morning with a picture of my package. So, they do have them in stock at the moment unless they have sold out again already. For the record, they charged my credit card on 14 Sep, and said it would ship out in 3-5 days at that point, but the reality is that it has taken up till today to ship. There is obviously a huge demand for this.
kusamba, thanks for confirming that Gearbest and Everbuying are actually the same company. I started considering this possibility recently because their LiveChat services always opened/closed at the same time and had the same status indications, and also because of similarities in the websites, and within their promo e-mail headers. So it is interesting to see this is actually the case.
tlxxxsracer, Gearbest/Everbuying do seem to have the best prices. The Everbuying link shows about $5 cheaper, however. The slight difference is you can get DHL shipping from Everbuying on the product for about $5, too. The same DHL shipping on Gearbest is like $25. At least these were the prices a couple of days ago when I was getting ready to cancel my Gearbest order. My point is that for the same price, in one case you get DHL 3-5 day expedited shipping (Everbuying), but in the other case you get non-expedited version (Gearbest).

Personally, I have never been charged import/customs tax when ordering stuff from China vendors, but I guess it is always a possibility. Nonetheless, I suspect it is not a very common occurrence simply because in the big picture, these purchases are small potatoes. If you were ordering mass quantities of items for probable resale, I can imagine things would be significantly different.
I have never ordered from GeekBuying myself, but I would not be hesitant to give them a shot if I were you because they are an established vendor that has been around for a while. I think there is some amount of gambling with every Chinese vendor because most are probably running with just-in-time inventories, and they will be loathe to admit they don't actually have an item in stock for fear of missing a sale. Regarding my purchase with GearBest, there is no question that the experience with this purchase was extremely frustrating. But I have used them several times in the past, too, and never had a problem like I've had with the RN2.

I would still buy from Gearbest or Everbuying because, from what I read, the online dealers are pretty much all alike - some good experiences, some bad. My worst experience was with GeekBuying just last month - I needed a phone and a tablet delivered within 20 days - went to their chat, was confirmed 70 tablets in stock - that both the phone and tablet would be delivered (to the USA) in plenty of time - they had me do 2 separate orders since the 2 items would ship from different warehouses - they told me to chat again after I placed the orders which I did - they made many promises - the phone (Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime) went out in about 5 days - regarding the tablet, I received a fake DHL tracking number but other than a series of lies, nothing - a few days before the deadline, they cancelled the sale, refunding to Paypal the cost of the tablet but not the $10.60 DHL fee. I got one of these Redmi Note 2s from to2c - they shipped quickly but do not respond to my requests for support on this phone - maybe they went out of business.

I supposed the safest bet would be buying from reputable sellers on AliExpress. Should have ordered one from there and paid an extra $20 instead. Now I hope my order from Everbuying would come through.
I wouldn't recommend Gearbest. I bought from them using the preorder but they only shipped after I started a PayPal claim a month after they said they would ship.
I ordered mine from aliexpress seller "Shenzhen Top-One Trading Co., Ltd." via DHL delivery. Arrived 1 week after order in Austria with no additional taxes or fees., like said in the description. It is the 16Gb TD version, but LTE and WDCMA are both working great for me.
I totally paid 155,14€ for phone + shipping.

That's a great deal. I paid €173 for the phone shipped + around €30 import tax from Gearbest. Should have just waited to buy from Ali but I was too hyped and pre-ordered. Never again!
here is an update on my purchase from Everbuying if anyone is interested:
*placed order (Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime and temper glass protector) with a credit card, chose expedite shipping
*2 days after placing the order, got an email about order was put on hold, and they needed to verify payment (pic of credit card used showing only name, exp date, and last 4 digit of account number and a pic of ID showing name, pic, address and exp date). They actually needed the verification on the same day that I placed the order, but they didn't send an email about it. I only found out after seeing a message in the inbox of my Everbuying account... could have saved 2 days of time there had I known.
*1 day after payment verification, order "was shipped" with a DHL tracking number (according to DHL, shipping info was received)
*DHL waited 6 days to pick up the package, (or the seller waited 6 days to actually send the package)
*DHL delivered the order 3 days after
**There was hardly any protection. The original box was not wrapped around with plastic bubbles. It was put inside another box with some plastic bubbles placed on top of the original box, and everything was put inside a DHL shipping plastic bag. When I opened the package, the outside box was a little moist because it was running like dogs and cats on the day of delivery. But the temper glass package and the original Xiaomi box seemed to be dry. Lucky there.
All in all, I guess my first purchase experience from Everbuying was considered good.

I never dreamed I would hear "reputable sellers" and "AliExpress" in the same sentence - to me, they are a real crap shoot.

They're getting better, the problem is most people go to Aliexpress for impossibly low prices. Therefore, if you want to survive as a seller on Aliexpress, you are forced to compete almost entirely on price. Aliexpress sellers usually work on razor thin margins, so most people just sell part time, and don't really care enough about the business to put real effort into customer satisfaction.
I actually have a sellers account on Aliexpress, so I can say with fair confidence that any products that sell for less than 6 or 7 dollars probably do not ship with real tracking numbers. Technically, the sellers are violating Aliexpress TOS. However, most budget sellers still do this because customers tend to reward sellers who list products with impossible prices. The only way to get ahead is by cutting corners, especially on shipping/tracking and sometimes with the product itself.
Aliexpress takes up to 30% commission and a tracking number adds more than 3 dollars to the shipping cost, so do the math. I can sell a 3 dollar product, but I need to price it at over 7 dollars just to break even and this doesn't even begin to cover the other costs of running a business or make it worth my time. Play by the rules, and you can charge 7 dollars for a 3 dollar product and still lose money on each sale, but if you disregard the rules and cut corners you can sell for 4.50 and make a profit. So, who will you buy from? Someone selling the same product at 7.50, or 4.50?
Aliexpress could crack down on sellers, but this would bring prices up and Aliexpress customers are typically looking for bargain basement deals. That's just how the cookie crumbles.
I should note that Aliexpress is extremely strict about listing branded products now in an effort to cut down on counterfeits. You need to apply for permission if you so much as mention a brand name anywhere in your listing. I suppose there are benefits to this, but some brand names are also fairly common words. A real pain in the ass when writing product descriptions.
For example, "NEW 2015 plush granny smith apple pillow, soft, squishy and nice! Pls Buy OMFG dear GOD I need the monies."
Aliexpress: "*****, I see you mentioned Apple. Change it now before the long noodley appendages of Apple's tentacle beast™ molest us all!

*Knock on wood*
I have placed over 20 orders this year using AliExpress just this year alone. Never an issue. You will just have to pick and choose good vendors from reading the reviews, and understand why you're even buying on AliExpress.
To be fair to some of the vendors on there, a lot of the complaints I read from the consumers was that people were expecting to get a Mercedes for the price of a Daewoo. Not going to happen. And often times I could clearly see that people do not read the entire description of product and service and whine about it later. And then of course there are a lot of sellers who would cheat customers. Good thing about AliExpress is they won't release funds to the sellers until all parties are satisfied with the transactions.

That's true, they also take forever to release funds so in theory you shouldn't have a problem getting your money back if there is a problem. Although I've never had a customer dispute a sale or file a complaint, most customers don't confirm receiving orders either. So, usually Ali only releases funds several weeks after product tracking shows delivery. It feels like 2 months sometimes. If you sell any amount of volume, you have to front at least 6-8 weeks cash for everything you sell. Which is probably why Aliexpress offers financing...
Basically, Aliexpress puts on a promotion as an opportunity to give shops visibility by putting their product listing on the front page/promotions page. In order to play, you'll probably need financing to support the promotion, which Aliexpress offers. Featured listings/promotions may sell hundreds/thousands of units, and shops may not see any revenue from the sales for months. Combined with the requirement of slashing prices by x amount and Ali's cut, a lot of shops just bleed money and never get the expected post promotion exposure/sales. I have a friend who used to own a factory, and he noted that you can spend 1000-dollars trying to promote your shop on Ali and only make 200 dollars in sales. Needless to say he doesn't sell on Aliexpress anymore.
As it turns out, it's quite difficult striking a balance between keeping customers and sellers happy on a platform. For sure, I hope Aliexpress cracks down on sellers who use fake tracking numbers and other shenanigans though. Customers also need to realize that an item priced near the cost of shipping is probably not going to change your life. You're ordering from the dollar menu, high margin sales affords better customer support and after sale service, if you're losing money or making 5 cents on a sale it's hard to bend over backwards. Some people only make a few cents on an item that costs 5-6 dollars, so if a customer demands a replacement for example, that's the profit of 100 sales or so you're messing with, and most people on Aliexpress aren't swimming in sales. The only people who make real money on Ali are Jack Ma and China Post. That's just my 5 cents.

Very insightful indeed. I'm staying up for the 11.11 AliExpress shopping spree. LMAO! :victory:
This is going off topic a tad and I'm sure the mods are not going to like it. But anyway, thanks for the info. Like I said, smart shoppers and reasonable buyers will have no trouble shopping on AliExpress. And I was happy to report that Everbuying wasn't as bad as all the bad reps that I read about online.
Mine was ordered on 2-29 and a rep today has told me that it will take 3 business days.
Anyone else have anything different?
I got an email mine will be here tomorrow.
I ordered mine at 8am on Feb. 23. My status online says "Orders will begin shipping the week of 3/7."
Ordered 2/23.
"Your order for the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge has been received. Orders will begin shipping the week of 3/7. Keep an eye out for a shipping email with your tracking information. Thank you for your patience."
The status online has changed 3 times for me. From shipping monday, then this week in 2-5 days. Now it says shipping the week of the 7th.
Obviously sprint can't figure out what they are doing. But what's new.
I have it on my hand atm. Good phone so far. Battery dropped quick when i first got out bit removed bloat and now it's about better.
Ok So I pre ordered the Galaxy S7 on the 23rd at a retail store. I called up sprint today to get a status check on my order. the order number i gave him from my receipt did not work, so i told him to look at my account he saw that i had pre ordered the phone, he let me know that since all pre orders come with gearVR my phone will be shipped on the 11th of March along with the gearVR to a sprint store. he said i should get a tracking number right before its going to get shipped
The rep I talked to on the 29th said the phones were getting shipped to them from ***** on the 4th and they would ship the 7th. FWIW. She also said the Gear VR was in stock and would ship the 29th LOL.
Sent from my SM-G928P using Tapatalk
ordered mine 3 days ago got it today S7 edge gold
Ordered mine on the 29th got it last night. Silver edge, Gear VR is on back order and ships by the 7th it says.
For everyone that got there phones already did you receive a email with tracking information or did it just show up ?
Ordered Mine from Verizon getting it NEVER! Lol probably next week....I hope.
Just chatted with a rep online. He says that they are back-ordered, but they'll be getting more in over the weekend and have them out next week. I sort of feel like a whiner because i'm not getting my phone earlier than I expected it. This process is making me act like a child. HAHA. If my order doesn't come early next week I'm going to throw an all-out man tantrum.
Information: for some reason sprint thinks that it's expectable to send out the phones that were purchased on 2/29 and 3/1 immediately , however who ever placed it on the 23rd we have to wait ! How does that make any since in hell??? I don't get it why are we the ones that are "backordered" ? We ordered nearly a week before them it's not fair that they are getting them , I complained and I suggest you do as well and let them know people are receiving it I received 30$ bill credit and a 30$ assessory because they agreeded and couldn't explain why mine wasn't sent even the person from the shipping department was confused !
They only give me a 15 dollar credit I order on the 24 and my bro order on 2/29 and has his phone I was piss I call everyday and everyday every sprint rep said something different smh

Keep complaining over live chat and over the phone i was pissed too i don't get it ! Why does someone who ordered after mine is the one who gets it ??? it makes no sense to me, and even the order specialist (shipping department) didnt even understand. My assumptions is that sprint originally gave us the 3/7 deadline but if you noticed on 2/29 and 3/1 the statuses changed and the people who placed orders on those two days originally received a shorter shipping period . So to avoid any problems they just shipped it due to whatever your original shipping said to avoid any problems and we are the ones that got backordered.

Got mine today s7 edge silver.
Ordered on the first..
I ordered on the 25th, same status changes on the order page as you guys, no shipping info yet. Regular s7. Seems like edge orders have shipped first, I think I will hop on chat later and complain a little and try to get some clarification.
When I ordered my Pixel 6. I was quoted $366 for my Pixel 5. Google received my P5 on November 2nd and has not done a thing since then.
Anyway has anyone done the same and received there credit?
On a side note, I did the trade in because selling on Ebay is nothing but hassle now days. You have to pay Ebay, PayPal, taxes, etc. With little profit. And hope that there is no shipping mishaps.
Thx, vandyman

That's too long. I got my $366 about 3 or 4 days after they received it, maybe 5 max. Time to give them a chat request have them find it and process it.
Just FYI eBay and PayPal parted ways a while ago and no longer do business together. With that said the fee turns out to be the same 13%. I don't know why you think selling on eBay is a hassle these days.. at least it's no more of a hassle than it's ever been. You can also use Swappa.
Google's shipping department is notoriously unreliable. From hours I've spent on the phone with them I've gathered that the shipping department is in control of many aspects of product fulfillment and the person you talk to can only make requests or tickets to them and they deal with it as they see fit.
I ordered a pixel 6 less than 2 weeks ago, got an email saying my shipment would be delayed, then the next day got an email saying my phone had been shipped.
When I ordered the pixel 2 XL they sent me two of them by accident. One of them had cracked glass. Both sealed in retail boxes.
I have a friend who ordered a phone from them and all he got was a sealed retail box with no phone in it. Of course they didn't believe him so he got stuck with the bill.
Contact Google and explain the situation. It could just be the timing being off or it could be a bug on your order. In any case it's best to start a history now with the support team just in case things go sour.

Shipping is slightly different than the returns. New devices are usually sent from Carol, Il I believe but returns go to Tennessee. I just checked @vandyman and I sent mine back on November 6th from the PO, they received it on Nov 10th and I got the credit on my account on the 11th. Also check out this new thread. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/ripped-off-by-google.4362429/ Something is amiss and Google needs to become aware of what is happening.
Yes my trade in was delivered in Tennessee on November 2.
I am on the Google store chat waiting list now.
I got a quote from Google for $159 on my Pixel 4xl, but decided to sell it on eBay. The last time I did a trade in with Google, they undercut my estimate by $75 and the phone was in mint condition.
I sold the pixel 4xl for a hundred more than what Google quoted me for, but after eBay fees I only cleared with $50.
So bottom line is you're going to take it up the @$s either way, it's just a way who gentler
I am still on a chat with Google support.
It sounds like they lost it.
To be continued....
Follow up!
I received an email that my Pixel 5 is better than what I have described. Lol
But they are only going to credit me the $366 that they offered on the trade in deal.
Email says it will take 3 - 5 days to see my account credited with the $366.
Geez....

Awesome! I saw that some people got $400 even though they said 366. Mine was damn near mint too. Oh well. How's long did it take you on the phone? And did they tell you what happened?

I was on Google store chat for about 30 minutes while the girl went back and forth with the next tier.
Finally at the end of the chat. They said it would be escalated and they would send me an email.
Edit; (what happened to the Pixel 5)
They magically found it I guess.
