Extracted radio ROM v1.21.31.10 from new jasjam ROM - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

Here's the extracted radio 1.21 from Imate JasJam's 1.31.305.2 ROM.
HERM_1.21.31.10_type2_radio.rar
Remember:
- You need bootloader 1.04 to upgrade to a extracted radio ROM
- screen will show "Upgrade Radio Stack Please wait........."
- after finishing flashing radio (about 15 min) you will see an "Upgrade Error", but the radio ROM will be flashed anyway.
- no need to hard reset after upgrading the radio, only soft reset with stylus when upgrade ends.
- upgrade at your own risk, i take no responsibility for anything that happens to you, your Hermes, your marriage, etc.
For more information see the extracted radio wiki page.
Enjoy!

thanks machine for all

OK, I flashed this Radio ROM into my Hermes
Well, guys, I 've already flashed this Radio ROM into my Hermes.
The procedure itself worked as usual. Radio version before update was 1.20.31.10.
Device booted up after flashing successfully
At this moment I don't see any difference between 1.20 and 1.21 versions.

[HELP]
What is the better radio ROM for Tytn ???
I have the one with the 1.35 ROM
Radio rom : 1.18.0.10 !!! But I think we can find better !!!!!!!

Thx...upgraded succefull...after downgrade the Bootloader from 1.06 to 1.04..then able to upgrade.....
Didn't see anything special...hehe...

I have flashed Bootloader 1.01 MFG on my vodafone 1605, with this bootloader, i successed flash voda french rom, htc 1.35 rom and Dopod CHT rom, i flashed bootscreen too.
but i didn't find any method to flash a Radio rom, there isn't explication in Wiki neither in thread.
can you tell us pof, how to flash a radio rom with a Bootloader 1.01 MFG, please!
thanks at first

@googoo no way to do this directly with 1.01 MFG yet. Essentially, the process is this:
First flash a 1.04 bootloader using 1.01 MFG. Next, flash desired radio. Then flash back to 1.01 MFG.
detail on these steps are in the Wiki

@qooqoo: sorry I forgot to add it in wiki, i thought it was obvious, but you're the second person asking this, so I added it to the wiki now. Thanks sleuth.

thanks Sleuth255 and pof.

I think I made a mistake... I'm using SPL 1.09 and I didn't even realise... It says its upgrading radio stack!!! Whats gonna happen???

I've upgrade to this ROM to test it...
BTW: I ve updated the wiki with the Protocol Version installed with this radio: 32.53.7020.01H

Test?
Can anyone post his experiences with the new Radio ROM?
Well I am using 1.20 and sometimes the device freezes while receiving a call. I am not sure if this is Radio ROM related and I am not sure if I should now upgrade to 1.21 or downgrade to 1.16
TyTN is a German T-Mobile MDA Vario II, it came with a 1.03/1.06? Radio ROM.
Edit: Will try with 1.16 now - but a 1.21 stability report would be appreciated..

@Applestar:
My Jasjam which is a HT647... came factory installed with this new ROM which is now available at the imate website (www.imate.com):
ROM Version: 1.31.305.2
ROM Date: 8th September 2006
Radio Version: 1.21.31.10
Protocol Version: 32.53.7020.01H
Ext ROM Version: 1.31.305.104
Bootloader Version:1.06
The problems I faced with this original ROM was that the Radio would freeze abruptly without any apparent indication. The GSM signal showed full bars but I could not make a phone call. Similarly when someone tried to phone me he would get an indication that my mobile is switched off. Other than this the PDA would continue to function normally and therefore no warning that the Radio has stopped functioning till I needed to make a phone call. I could not establish a pattern when this occurred but it would definitely occur once or twice a day. The only way to restore my radio to working condition was to switch to flight mode and back or a soft reset.
I then downloaded the ROM which was available at the i-mate site (www.imate.com) at that time i.e. on 9th January 2007. The ROM that I downloaded was definitely older than the one which came preinstalled on my jasjam and is detailed below:
ROM Version: 1.20.305.3
ROM Date: 21st July 2006
Radio Version: 1.07.03.10
Protocol Version: 32.41.1010.02H
Ext ROM Version: 1.20.305.104
Bootloader Version:1.04
Ever since I have installed this ROM the problem of the Radio freezing is gone for ever and now I am absolutely satisfied with my investment.
Furthermore I have not experienced any adverse effect of the older ROM. The free RAM is the same for both ROMs, I do not see any difference in signal strength or battery life either.
I would be interested to know from members who have recently downloaded the the ROM if anyone has noticed the Radio freezing problem
Kind Regards

ok, thanks the operation is correct.

I've finished the testing of this 1.21.31.10 Radio ROM.
I used to use the 1.20.31.10 ROM and this is the comparation of this ROM with the new 1.21.31.10 ROM:
- Under GSM and UMTS the time to register in the network as the coverage is the same in both ROMs. I haven't noticed any difference while talking and receive voice calls.
- But THE PROBLEM is that the data calls are broken in this ROM. I used direct Modem connection with my work (we got two 56k Modem waiting for incoming calls). It connects without apparently problems with the modem (maybe it takes more time than the older ROM) but the data interchange is very sloooooooow and suddenly it stops! The data call isn't dropped but it doesn't interchange data after two or three minutes of slooooooow interchange. Finally, if you close the call and tries to reconnect it can't!!!! WM5 says that an unknown error happens and can't be connected!!!!
After a soft reset you can connect again but it remains very sloooooow...
Fortunately I've switched back to the old and stable 1.20.31.10 ROM and everything works normal now (thank God!).
So, my final advice:
DON'T USE THIS ROM!!! IT LACKS DATA CALLS BUT WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE IS BROKEN!!!
My recommendation: 1.20.31.10 ROM.
Best regards.

I recommend: Radio 1.07.03.10
With this Radio I had very good signal strength. Better than Radio 1.18.00.10.
I think newer Radios aren't better to lower the SAR-Level.

I am having a very positive experience with this ROM. While I doubt there is any way to explain this, but after I installed it, I was able to use the Microsoft Voice Command through the BT headset and the hack that is provided in a different discussion group. Using 1.20, that hack did not work with my device. Otherwise, I see no difference.

One new feature provided by this radio ROM as compared to the one in the previous JASJAM WWE version:
Automatic date/time and time zone synchronization with your GSM operator.
There is a new properties tab in Phone properties where you can enable/disable this feature.

Unable to upgrade radio rom

Hi,
I am a SoftBank X01HT user. Recently a rom update was released and I applied it.
ftp://210.136.175.150/F1_RUU/RUU_X01HT_1.33.761.4_1.14.00.10.exe
After update the bootloader version changed to 1.09, so I downgraded the bootloader to 1.04 and it seems to be successful (I confirmed it in bootloader mode screen). Then I installed the DoCoMo version shipped rom of following versions.
ROM Version: 1.23.731.2
Radio Version: 1.06.00.10
Bootloader: 1.04
Language: JPN (Japanese)
CID: DOCOM801
The installation finished successfully, but the radio version is 1.14!!
ROM Version:1.23.731.2
Radio Version:1.14.00.10
I tried to upgrade radio to 1.20 but in vain. I ran MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and it seemed to work correctly till 99% (however it shows ERROR 114 finally).
After soft reset, I found that the radio version was still 1.14.00.10.
What's the matter? Anyone can help please?
Best regards,

In addition I tried this rom with bootloader 1.09 and radio 1.18.00.10.
ftp://xda:[email protected][1].35.255.2_1.35.255.102_1.08.00.10_SHIP.EXE
The radio rom was not upgraded to 1.18, it remains 1.14.
very weird... can you attach a usb-monitor capture when trying to flash another rom? see the wiki (upgrading problems) for instructions on how to use usb-monitor.
pof, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1068511&postcount=35
might be due to the new SoftBank ROM sold since December?
Even they http://www.imei-check.co.uk/m3100unlock.php couldn't do it:
The Unlocker it will NOT WORK with Japanase Softbank devices with SPL1.09 and radio 1.14.00.10 sold after 1st December 2006. To check your spl just put the phone in bootloader :hold the [OK] button (from the left side of the phone where the volume button is) and the [power on] button and in same time press the [reset] hole (near to the charger connector -- use stylus to press it!) and you can see IPL and SPL
Radio version can be checked from Start->Settings->System->Device Information:Radio Version.
If you buy the unlocker and claim that your phone is a 1.09 we will NOT refund you. We don't know when we will release a new update or IF we will release one!!!

Yes, I think the new softbank device has the radio area "read only" somehow, that makes impossible to patch the radio in order to SIM/CID unlock. However I would like to see a USB Monitor capture of the process when trying to flash a radio rom on it, to see exactly what the bootloader returns. If anyone can attach it, it would be great

Would be an explaination but uedam said he is stuck on 1.14.0.1 since he installed the new X01HT ROM. This implies he had another version before - so it seems that the read only effect isn't caused by the hardware but by the ROM and can't be removed by flashing another ROM (at the moment).
Perhaps there is a hidden command executed when the ROM is flashed. Something that write-protects a range in memory. But I have no explaination why the process runs until 99%.
Someone has to log the USB traffic when flashing the new ROM.
By the way: I'm not willing to test this on my own device

pof,
I installed usbmon and tried radio rom 1.20 upgrade again (it also failed...)
Here is the log files exported from usbmon. I hope it will help to solve the problem.
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Hermes/Tools_and_Programs/usbmonlog.zip
Sorry, the file was too large to attach to this post.
p.s. If you need further information, please let me know.
Thanks uedam, the process seems to be the same like in every other device. The only "minor" strange thing is that when flashing a 0x10000 byte block at address 0x6d0000 you get a failure the first time, then the RUU does an 'rerase' of this memory portion, tries again and gets a success, and follows with the radio flashing process. But I think this has nothing to do with the problem we're facing here.

Yes, before upgrade I unlocked my X01HT and used with DoCoMo rom. The radio version was 1.06.00.10.
I uploaded the USB traffic log and please view the file. Does the same thing occur when writing another rom? or this is the first case?

Hmmm, would it make sense to have him log the full-upgrade process - presumably the "locking" happened when he did the RUU_X01HT_1.33.761.4_1.14.00.10.exe
and hopefully it would happen even if Radio 1.14 were already on the system when he re-did the full upgrade.....

I did full rom upgrade again and got log to the file.
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Hermes/Tools_and_Programs/fullupgradelog.zip
It's beyond my comprehension.
p.s. It's very large (about 400MB text file, the zip is about 120MB)
Hey uedam, nice work dude!
I've had a quick look and seems a normal upgrade to me, I see nothing related to the write-locking of the radio, but will look at it more deeply later, in case I skipped something important.
However I extracted GSM.nb from softbank 1.33.761.4 ROM and GSM.nb from HTC 1.18.416.1ROM which both should be radio 1.14.00.10 but the files are different, so I guess the locking is done in the radio itself (??).

pof, it sounds quite interesting. Softbank built the special version of 1.14.00.10 radio?
So, if possible, we cook new rom which includes radio rom same as HTC 1.18.416.1 rom then the person who has 1st version of X01HT can upgrade it safely?

If it is impossible, the person who has contract with softbank will have much trouble. Because they have to upgrade their devices till 1st of April in order to use internet connection. Softbank announced that we would not be able to connect to the net without upgrading to new rom.

Where is this announced? My understanding is that it is not possible to use "Direct Internet" if you don't have the latest ROM but you can still access the internet via normal packet communication - it's more expensive though.

Is it possible to flash back from Radio Rom 1.35.00.11 to 1.27.00.00?

Only one short question! -Only one short answer! ;-)
I´ve flashed my hermes to the 1.35 radio rom. Now iam getting these ****ty
radio waves signals out of the hermes´s earspeaker . And it is possible that i have to send in my device, because i have several problems with sending sms. Because of these things it would be very nice if it is possible to flash back to the shipped version of the Radio Rom(1.27.00.00)
I tried to flash back with
RUU_Hermes_TMD-TMA_Radiopatch_1.27.00.00_107_GER.exe
and it completed succesfully but on the hermes is still the 1.35 Version of the radio rom.
THX
You will need the sspl version of the installer. It can be downloaded here.
hmm, so i took the wrong radio ROm version?
on this site:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291827
i took the first one because i have a herm300 from t-mobile.
So i only have to flash with the version you gave me, and thats all?
Update radio without Activesync connetion
Can I update this rom version without any activesycn connection. My HTC TYTN is hang out after rom dwwongrading and now it start unitl windows loading screen. I think that only alternative is download new rom with help of three colour screen usb connetion or with help of mtty program. My bootloader version is 1.09

@Miliano: you are correct. The sspl download for v1.27 was created by wpbear.
Unbelievably, I found the link for you by looking in the Hermes WiKi....
@frontpage: sspl based flashing won't work unless windows mobile can load

about Upgrading Radio Rom?

I am a newbie of my Dopod 838Pro (Hong Kong Traditional Chinese Version) with
Rom: 1.23.708.4
Radio: 1.06.00.10
Protocol: 32.37.7010.01H
(originally it was 32.34.7010.01W, it was upgraded by a exe patch provided by the Hong Kong Vendor)
SPL: 1.04
Since I am not very satisfactory to its data connection stability, I would like to have an upgrade to the Radio rom.
I have read some resources over the internet including the post in this forum. However, I am not familiar with modification of a PDA phone and I would like to maintain the warranty provided by the vendor, I would like to upgrade my phone in a safe way with least procedures.
All in all, I would like to ask the following questions to clarify my concept before the upgrade.
1. Is Radio Rom 1.27 a good choice, is it better than 1.06? is there any other version better than 1.27 in terms of network connection stability?
2. Is there any change to the OS (especially the language) when I upgrade the radio rom?
3. Do I need to uninstall the protocol update patch before the radio upgrade?
4. Is there any change to the SPL bootloader version if I use the extracted rom in this forum?
5. Do I need to do other upgrades to suit the radio rom upgrade?
6. Will I void the warranty if I upgrade the radio rom?
Thank you very much !!
1. Don't know about HK stability
2. No
3. No
4. No
5. No
6. Possibly, but they would never know unless you tell them.
You may want to do some reading in the wiki and the upgrading threads for some information about bootloaders. You may want to update your bootloader before doing any RUU updates.
Please look here and here about upgrading radio ROMs. Using Hard SPL is recommended to prevent bricking of the device. Advantages and issues connected with radios are discussed on their respective threads. Good luck flashing!
as you mentioned, may I know what is
"brick" and "Hard SPL"
Brick = dead phone (or at least dead radio)
HardSPL = customized bootloader
Bricking a device means to get it in unusable state (party or fully). More on this topic here and here. Hard SPL is custom bootloader made by Olipro with aim to prevent some kinds of bricking (in the first link you can see description of the brick types). Mrvanx has written a user friendly guide on upgrading, you can find it here. Safe flashing!
@KarhU: Sorry - I should have let you answer your own question. Heh

thank you very much.
Concerning some of your other questions. Radio ROM can be downgraded if there is a need to do so. However some of the newer upgrades (starting with 32.66.7020.10H) have a newer HTC_boot bootloader (1,08) that can not be downgraded even if the radio itself can be downgraded. 1.27 is safe in that manner. If you decide to flash Olipro's bootloader you will have to downgrade it to your default bootloader before claiming any warranty repairs.
I started with 1.06 too and switched to 1.27 later - I noticed increased sensitivity of the GSM reception (five bars where I only got three before). Read what other said in its thread. Many people claim that it is the best radio ROM to date.
And one last thing - Radio ROMs only affect GSM/HSDPA/GPRS /UMTS reception NOT the Bluetooth or Wifi reception (Bluetooth and Wifi stacks are part of the OS, not the radio ROM).

some more questions,
1. regarding to some other posts in the forum, radio rom 1.27 seems to have a greater power drain, is it true?
2. I am using an UMTS network in HK (UMTS CSL 1010), I noticed that the reception of UMTS is not good enough that leaded to a frequent switching between EDGE and UMTS and sometimes dropped my calls. When I was using the EDGE network with Prophet, I didn't encounter any problem. Will upgrade help this problem?
3. regarding the threat you gave me before, when I flash the radio rom, whether the "correct" error message shows before flashing or after the flashing?
I'll probably go to hell for asking this here -- but out of curiousity:
I have htc tytn version (non branded). Which I have constant problems with signal where other phones work on the Cingular network. Even my old h6315 works better in these areas. I've gotten to the point of using a typical bar phone that I got for $10 when i'm in this area. Swapping the sim card each time.
This is getting old -- FAST. I upgraded to radio 1.38.00.10 which one of you fine fine masterminds posted (please forgive me -- the poster escapes me -- Shogunmark? included Olipro's bit in there too..). Helped a bit -- but not by much.
ANYWAYS -- question is, if I put the Cingular branded radio and/or ROM will my reception improve?

Radio rom upgrade?

Hello,
Just unlocked both sim and cid, and installed tnt 1933 touch flo rom, no problems on the install, expect for that my cell phone does not work.
I know I might have to update the radio rom, and anyone please explain the procedure and the file needed, read, but confused.
current:
G4
ipl 2.21.001
spl 2.21.olip
gsm 02.25.11
os 11.0.0.1
s.thakur
I just upgrade and notice the bug too. My phone works sometime, but I cant end the call! and some sms are not being rec'd.
TNT.1933 is known to have problems for some Radio ROMs.
Either choose other ROM or try other Radio ROMs until the problem goes away (There is no recommended radio version because it depends on your carrier)
For what I know, this is link to the newest Radio ROM available (2.71.11).
In the thread it's written it is g4 safe.
So I think you can flash it to your device plain and simple.
But I am not pretty sure if you need to use the RUU provided or the Mun's RUU from the Hard SPL thread...
EDIT:
I have flawlessy performed Radio upgrade to 2.71.11
I can now confirm it's g4 safe... just start the romupdateutility and follow the instructions...
No need to change RUU from the one included in rar archive for my G4 HardSPL.

Flashing Radio

I have G4 device. Can i flashing Radio ROM? And how i can do this?
If i can please give me links.
yes, you can, I did this, mine is hardspl unlocked, used mun_ruu and different radio roms, just search the forum for "radio rom".
Yes! you can flash any Radio Rom to a G4 device without any CID unlock or HardSPL.It just includes upgrade files for GSM and doesn't include any IPL/SPL (Bootloaders) in them, just download the Radio Rom of your liking, hook up the phone with pc via usb cable and run the RUU included in the Radio Rom,it'll automatically run and upgrade the GSM of your phone.
Ok. I using SiftSPl for flashing. Today change Radio ROM from 02.25.11 to 02.61.11 so I did't notice the change. What powerfull firmware recommend?
New flashed radio ROM buggy. In conversation loses us, the call drops. Now flashed Rom from faria 02.69.11... Testing.
