I have an 8125 and what I like the most is that there are a bunch of excellent custom ROMS available. Alot of them have many tools and tweaks which make the phone alot better than stock. I've tried many and like the customizations (i.e. Molski and Faria's ROMS).
However, the speed of the 8125 is pretty slow. I want to "upgrade" to HSPDA and 400mhz processor with the Hermes. Unfortunately, I realize that the Hermes is newer and the development is not as advanced. But will there be custom ROMS cooked up similar to the Wizard ROMS out there?
From what I've read, there are a few roadblocks. But I don't want to spend $450 on a phone and have to wait and wait for HTC to release updates. You guys on this site are simply amazing and I would rather use your ROMS.
Thanks for any inputs before I take the plunge in getting the Hermes.
Roadblocks are falling, and custom ROMs are actually being assembled. There are still issues with flashing them to the devices but progress is being made. I am in your camp and would love to have .NET framework, and other large programs in ROM.

Don't know if it's been posted as of yet. Being that I only get time for this forum at work, I cannot afford the time luxury to wade through pages of results. My apologies for that...
A coworker and I both have the Titan. I've hacked the crud out of my phone and unlocked so many of those golden features Verizon locks out to spite us.
To the point... With the recent release of the XV6900 we both have developed an interest in it's features. Bluetooth keyboard support, bluetooth storage devices and a slew of other really nice items. But the lack of a built in keyboard and wifi make the phone less desirable...
In short, is there a Kitchen that can be installed to include the merged features of both phones onto the XV6900? Or is the 64 megs of RAM a significant limiting factor?
First, you cannot run a Vogue (6900) ROM on your Titan. There are however, plenty of ways to customize and add features to your device. There are several custom ROMs and kitchens here on XDA, but my personal kitchen of choice is the one from PPCGeeks/PPCKitchen.org. You will have to do a little reading, but there are lots of good tutorials at PPCGeeks, and the whole thing is not difficult if you take your time and follow instructions. The thread discussing the kitchen is here. Also be sure to check out some of the stickies in that forum for additional tutorials and advice. If you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to try and answer them.
Edit: more on point to your specific questions, yes, you can add virtually every feature you see on the Touch to your Titans with the use of a custom ROM. Most of the stuff is available in cabs as well. There is a sticky in the Development and Hacking forum here at XDA that has all the HTC apps.
I'm not a stranger to flashing roms. I've been updating with the DCD kitchens since i got the titan. I wasn't too pleased with the lack of GPS functionality even though the hardware fully supports it.
I'm interested in the extra Bluetooth features if it is even possible. "Settings/system/memory/storage card" has the bluetooth storage option on the 6900, the 6800 lacks this. Is it more a hardware than a software feature?
The touchflow and cube are very well implemented on the touch. Last time i verified it wasn't working too well on the Titan.
There are a few other features I'd like to merge in. The biggest issue though is indeed memory and the lack thereof on the Titan.

Touchflo and cube are working absolutely fine on my Titan.
As far as the memory goes...if you want the extra RAM you're going to have to buy a vogue or wait for the successor to the Titan. The Titans will NEVER get more RAM, nor will there be any way to add more RAM.
Yo peeps,
Are there people that have tested all the currently new cooked roms(DCS v14, ROMeOS v1.03, P.R.O 1.0)?
If so, are you people willing to point out the differences in the roms (Pro's and Cons, attributes of the ROM, every part that can be distinguished).
Maybe in the future this info can be added to the Wiki in a comparisation table or something like that.
Greetz
I just flashed ROMeOS 1.03, awesome ROM.
I was using the stock rom on my EU TP until I flashed this one...
One of my favorite features is the second today screen (so you can have TF3D and traditional today screen apps with 1 button press...)
It's very fast as well. But since it's only been about 2 hrs since I flashed it, I'll test further and let y'all know..
I'm currently still on ROMeOS 1.01 i like it so, i think i would like the latest version also.
But the reason i made this thread is so that users can post oppinions, features, pro's and cons of their running custom rom. So that other users can select the rom to use by those arguments that will fit their needs, without going to all the hassle to try all the new cooked roms out there.
Maybe one day, on the wiki we can have a table that contains a comparisation of the cooked roms.
A comparison of cooked ROMs can never be objective.
The three ROMs that you are talking about are very good and very fast with no problems. So... it's up to the needs of each user to decide which one is better.
I find all ROMs very good for what they offer. Till now panosha's is the best ROM for my needs and i am absolutely happy with it!
Oke, maybe we can setup a list of features etc that the roms have for the sole purpose of a user to easily select a rom that satisfies their needs?
I want to prerequisite this post with the statement that I have read through the raphael wiki and the flash for newbs thread.
I've been a tweaker up till now (Kaiser tweak and now diamond tweak) and finally have gathered up the courage to flash a ROM on my fuze. Couple of quick questions:
First - I'm thinking NATF, any other suggestions on different ROMs and +/- of each? Which is most stable needing least tweaks? I'm on vacation right now and can afford to put in some time on this but once works starts again, 80+hr/weeks, won't have time to mess with this much.
Second - in general, once a ROM is flashed, does it need much work. that is, will I need to keep d/l new updates/tweaks and will it really become time intensive. As mentioned above, if it's going to suck up more time in the future, I might just want to stick with ATT bloat removed and a stock ROM?
Anything else I should know before I set forth??
thanks, I've learned tons from all of you guys/gals on this, fuzemobility, and ATT forums!
I've used NATF, ROMeOS and PROven ROMs. Each worked great for me. I would recommend you test each one to see which one meets your requirements or you like better... just a matter of preference as all 3 are pretty stable.
As for updates, normally there are not much updates unless there are some bugs or something not working as expected. Otherwise, the ROMs are stable enough to run for a while unless a new version comes out and you need the feature or added functionality.
The Fuze is fairly new and the cooks are busy making new ROMs so you may see a release every other day, every week, or once a month... who knows.
I definitely recommend you flash your device with something else instead of leaving the stock AT&T ROM. You'll like your device even more. Even if you don't have time to keep up with the latest release, a cooked ROM will be much better.
Good luck.
NATF for me. It performs the best on my FUZE and is very fast; it destroys the lag of the Stock ATT ROM. But in the end, you have to go with the one that works best for you and your needs.
i've been running RRE by Arupenthall and it has worked great for the last week.
It all depends. In my humble opinion, the level of sofistication goes like this: Da_G>NATF>RRE>ROMeOs>PROven
What I mean by sofistication is basicaly the level of existing softwares on the ROM and "again this is very user dependent" the speed. i exclude Da_G ROMs as they are Manilla ones "completely ripped of most 3rd party software including the TF3D interface" because they are the fastest ever and you can pretty much guess why.
Now if you're going to flash from an original, be prepared for some bugs. It's a "joy Ride" yes, but with some "issues' somewhere. It'll only depend on where you will get the issues and whether you can live with them.
My personal experience which I share with you is the following:
- Being an Egyptian, I did like the NATF ROM but it was too "AT&T" for me
- ROMeos is pretty good and stable but somethings that Monx sticks to in his Roms "which by the way is completely his right" did not appeal to me
- Da_G is super light, super fast but super empty and I use it only if I miss the good old days of my dead i-mate 2020
- RRE and PROven are very competitive and very good as well but I think the PROven one is more accomplished and the RRE is more "AT&T" friendly. These 2 are my favorite candidates right now.
- As for the ELITE one, I cannot give an opinion as I never tried one. In fact I never will until these wonderful ELITE people humble themselves and call their ROM with any other name that do not put them separated from the rest of the NORMAL Chefs who are doing a wonderful job FREE OF CHARGE to our XDA community.
(PLEASE BARE IN MIND THAT THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION WHICH COULD BE BIASED AND COULD BE ALSO WRONG, BUT IS CERTAINLY MY PERSONAL OPINION)
I've looked over the ROMs and the way i picked is just looking at the changelog and the screenshots. Some of them come with tons of stuff, some come with almost nothing. I like the more "nothing" OS so that i can add what i want to add (via CABs) and forget the rest. As a result i chose Da_G's ROM because it's similar to AT&T's minus all their stuff i wont use. I don't need the extra applications some of the others come with but other people out there love those things
Thanks for the input everyone, much appreciated. I guess I'll take a look at a couple of screen shots and go from there....
Great thread. We're not all experts and we haven't all flashed all the ROMs so this is a valuable resource.
Out of curiosity, is there a limit to how many times you can flash a Fuze?

I don't think there is a true physical limit but NATF in his podcast on fuzemobility said he went through 6 tilts in 13 months since he was flashing so often. he thought it might be related to the numerous flashes and the effect on memory (i'm no electrical engineer so I can't add anything to this statement).
For any new comers to flashing, I do suggest listening to the interview with NATF on fuzemobility about pros/cons and other background on the flash process. http://www.fuzemobility.com/?p=768
I'm going to go forth and put on NATF so will keep everyone updated.
One quick question though, if flashing NATF, do I still need a radio or does NATF install a radio on his ROM?
Thanks.
never mind, i found the radio thread under raphael..thanks.
Great thread for us noobs
Hi,
I know this question does not always rub everyone the right way, but the last time i asked, it was met with an excellent reponse and was VERY helpful to me (and hopefully a few others).
I don't keep up with the changes on here enough to know what is working well, what is too cutting edge to rely on, and whose ROM's are the fan favorites. When I find a ROM that fits my needs, I keep it on for a few months until it starts to fel too sluggish and buggy, and then I start the search over.
I am looking for a ROM that is stable and fast, and light on the built in programs side. The problem I find is that a lot of roms either have a LOT of stuff and are great for some users, or nothing at all installed or tweaked and I have to do a lot of looking for fixes to problems.
Any help with suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have flashed about 5-10 Roms lately and have still not yet found one i want to stick with, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I recommend the RRE roms by arupenthal, not exactly light, but very stable. I help beta test for him and allot of care goes into the cooking. I prefer a stable rom over the newest hype, I primarily use my device for business and mission critical stuff, so I can rely on his roms.
While I agree that arupp's rom is a great one, I seem to believe that Monx's ROMeOS roms are a tad bit liter while still being very reputable.
On another note, maybe all chefs should report their roms ingredient philosophy in the titles (not just the bare/lite)
I.E. - ([ROM,WWE] 21xxxx, Rom name, Date, type, other notes)
where type would be - Bare, lite, clean, loaded, or clog your arteries jam packed) etc.
I've tried plenty of ROMs. In my opinion as far as WM6.1 is concerned, I prefer ROMeOS2, especially newer builds, for its speed and rock stable operation. Of 6.5 ROMs my choice is Shep211's build (Mystic and xECK29x are a bit overloaded). Still WM6.1 runs a bit smoother and leaves some more free RAM (about 212 MB vs. about 189 MB).
Da_G's kitchen
has a great Rom with basic ingredients and is incredibly stable and fast.
Easy to do as well.
I'm with Dillsnik with one exception, I've never flashed before.
I've read and read and I think I am ready. There are so many choices so now I am confused. I'm looking for something simple to start so that I can add my chosen apps, but not lose the basics. I have applied a lot of the tweaks I've read about here to my Fuze already, so I was hoping to find something that had most of the basic ones already applied. Da_g's or RRE seem to me the way to go...is that a good start?
Highly recommend Da-G's Kitchen as a starting point; there's even a great tutorial

I suggest Natf's lite rom. I had used them for about 2 months before switching to NRGZ's TP2 rom
i'm haveing a real hard time chooseing what rom to use with my advantage. The main role of my advantage is 1 Phone,
2 Media Player (Online steaming and Off), 3 internet in that order. i've looked through the forums and got the idea of how to flash a new rom but with such a wide selection i'm pretty confused on the differnces between them and i need a hand on choseing. thanks
WoW!!! Thanks for the help i guess.
I saw your first post and after that I got my Athena. I now see your second post and i own the Athen for about two weeks.
All I can tell you is this:
1) You will have to try the ROM's yourself, because everyone has special needs and likes one ROM more than the other.
2) I have so far only tried the original shipped WM5 ROM and MiCHy's R6.1 ROM. I changed the WM5 mainly for one main reason: it was in German.
The ROM I have now works almost at my satisfaction and I already spent much time configuring it to my taste and installing lots of software. I would not want for the next months to install a different ROM, unless there is a good reason (aka, a new functionality).
3) The alternative to MiCHy's R6.1 ROM's are AP4 and newer R6.5 ROM's.
I did not try the AP4, because I did not feel good enough informed to do the SPL upgrade and the WIFI rebuild on my new device. Now I think I understood all steps, however as I mentioned above, it is too much hazzle considering the current ROM works to my satisfaction.
Because I have other HTC devices, I already tried R6.5 ROM's on them. It looks good, but slows the device down (in my opinion). Also, I dont like touch-based menus, because verything gets too big on the screen.
Conclusion:
I recommend a simple R6.1 ROM or, better, the AP4. From what I read so far this seems to be the most popular ROM's.
Recomendation:
I spent days reading all relevant posts on this forum (started prior of receiving my Athena). I asked the questions which were not clear to me, I did my homework. And so should you!
Cheers,
vma
