Hi All,
I am looking for a Qtek 9090 housing. Anyone know where can i
get it online from ?
not online, but if its still in warrenty try calling your local bratch of HTC. They offer a 'chasis replacement service' for 40 quid in the uk!!
Hi there, you mention that HTC has local branches in the UK that change chassis...would you have any contact details? Thanks
Go to http://www.htceurope.com/ and register your phone for case booking. Make up some story about a fake problem with the phone and you'll see a cosmetic refurb (or something along those lines) for 39.95. someone will get in touch with you can get it picked up and sent to HTC in milton keynes. And when it comes back your have your blue angel looking brand new!
But I dont know where you could buy the case and fit it yourself. ALSO RESTORE THE FACTORY ROM OR YOU COULD BE IN SOME SERIOUS LEGAL ****!!!
hi,

Hi
I have a Qtek 9090 with a crack in the screen.
I think its only the glas that i broken...the screen under look fine.
I've found a nice guide in here on how to repace it, but the problem is to buy the screen. Everywere i've looked, they must have the phone in to replase the screen...they don't sell only the screen.
So..the question is...were can i buy only the screen for the qtek, so i can replase it my self?
Hope someone can help me with this.
Thanks for a super site!!
Best regards Roadbush
Hi,
the screen of my tytn broke last night.
So I want to replace it.
After several hours of searching ebay I have found several offers.
some sellers are claiming that the tytn has the same screen as the XDA neo.
Is that true? can I buy a xda neo lcd and put it into my tytn?
Thanks
I have one for sale

Guy's got parts fro pretty much anything.
I have ordered from him many times, fast delivery, parts always exactly as advertised.
my lcd screen broke as well
where is a reccommended site to purchase one and how easy is it to replace the screen?
is the screen called the digitizer?
I have let mine replace at a store.
It seems very easy to open it and change it if you know how to do it.
There are some sites which shows how to open the device so it should be easy

I don't know if anyone has seen this or not. But I was browsing the CNN.CN website and found that they finally have the 8525 housing (no front camera).

This is pretty cool!!
Thats quite expensive.
I have bought a housing on Ebay for 12€.
Just type
xda dummy
dopod dummy
htc dummy
etc
into the search.
The dummies seems to be original housings for just a few bucks
but from what I've read on this forum, the material is very cheaply made (since its a dummy) and is not a good replacement for the actual housing.
your opinions any different?
I also Spotted This

i was looking for some explanations about : is it possible to change housing from htc tytn to this housing ?
thanks for your response.
Yes its possible, but if you have the 8525 and you put on the HTC TyTn housing, you will have a front camera hole, with no camera

If that's what you are Looking to do I believe you have to change the Circuit under the D-Pad as well and I wouldn't know whrre you would even get that From ? I've heard a few people Looking for it but to no success. Hopefully someone does find it. I know alot of People with the TyTn who want the black housing but the Buttons don't match up right.

Ok, thanks for this info~~ so i don't buy this housing.
The "dummy" phones on ebay are CANNOT be used as replacement housings.
The side buttons are fused on (i.e., they are not buttons), the USB port is not punched out, and the back cover is not removable without a hammer and chisel. The SD card hole is also fused shut.
Just going on cosmetics, you'd end up with a much uglier phone than the one you're replacing, as you'd have to break the case just to open it and you'd have to punch out all of the buttons on your own.
As if that were not enough, once opened one will find that the inside doesn't have the proper places to secure the motherboard or battery on the inside of the case.
Provided you made it this far, you'd find upon using it that the keyboard sliding mechanism on the dummy phones is cheap, non-locking, and breakable.

8525 OEM housing
For those of you still looking for 8525 OEM housing, here is the link. You have to fill out the order then they will send you the info. So far this is the only one I have found that carries the OEM housing with all the markers.
http://www.cellphonepartszone.com/Products.asp?shopxpbe_id=102&id=425
whats the price tag on this item from this site?
that is a good question, i would like to know too since i bought a used 8525, if its not too cheap i wouldnt mind getting a whole new housing or have a spare in case things wear out before i decide to get another phone or so heh
but again the housing does not have the buttons/keyboard etc... at least not in the pics
I noticed the same GPS antenna.... does this really work?
I thought the GPS is disabled permanently on the 8525.
Here's the wiki on the GPS:
