8-11-2004 20:57 GMT: New version V2 uploaded.
I added a small archive containing the changed ExtROM files to solve the earlier reported errors (not updating ExtROM version and not making IIWPO un-installable).
Comment on IIWPO and making it un-installable: After having customized & installed IIWPO, you will have to do one of the following to make it un-installable if youre using the 1.72.902 ExtROM:
a. Another hard-reset
b. Running Version_172_902.cab from the ExtROM

Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am d/l'ing right now and will be installing shortly...
One request... You might want to include the cab for setting up IIWPO in case someone is installing it into the phone.
edsub Thanks.
Question tho. Can I use this for T-Mobile USA and does it fix the MMS problem ?
asking because the version says NL, isnt that the Netherlands country code ?
Thanks again
Well from first look everything seemed ok.
THese are a few of the things I have noticed since loading.
1. The ext rom version # doesn't show up in the info
2. If you use the IIWPO then it still shows in the remove list
3. The new apps from the 187 version will not install no matter what you do. (I have tried adding the ver # in the Reg, both 902, and 187 (not at same time)) Niether worked.
These are the few things that I have found since loading. If I find any more I will loet you know. Other than these I think you havea winner here!
I was wondering about the streaming MMS, the new bluetooth stack, and some of the other new versions of software that came in the 181,187 packages, and why you didn't include or update to them? Was there some incompatibality issue?
Thanks and great job!

Is SRS included?
SRS is not included due to the fact that I don't see any use for it personally. Since it is an ExtROM installer, you could add it yourself.
The NL is only there because some sdetting are more or less specific to the Netherlands. I had feedback on my earlier 1.72.901 package that it worked for other countries (incl USA) as well. Be prepared that the date format will be dutch by default (easy to change via settings though).
Also MMS is suposed to be working (but I have not tried it due to lack of interest in MMS)
The ExtRom# is not showing because some bug in the Version_172_902.cab. Working on that now.
IIWPO not showing in the remove programs list is a bit more difficult than it seems if you install for the first time. Normally you would boot up the device with new rom. IIWPO is NOT installed at this point. Once you have customised & installed IIWPO, you will have to do ANOTHER hard-reset (ie run the ExtRom contents again) to disable the uninstall. You could force this by hand first time to re-run Version_172_902.cab after installing the customised IIWPO. BUT as this cab is not OK, it wont work anyway. Working on that now.
I did not find the time to look into the new O2 apps. If someone finds a solutiuon here, I am more than happy to includew it in a new version.
For the streaming MMS, the new bluetooth stack, and some of the other new versions of software that came in the 181,187 the basic reason is lack of time. I dont know what 'extra' new there is on bluetooth in the O2 builds? OS Rom 1.72 allready has an updated BT stack that fixes most open issues. I have no experience (& interest) in MMS / streaming MMS . . .
I suppose the issue with TomTom locking up without GPS enabled is not solved with this rom ?
I know: wishful thinking..........
@Pleun: Nope. I WISH I would have solved that one!!! FYI: I tested he new TomTom GPS 3.07. It doesnt solve any locking issue and next to that makes my Headset react very slow. Also the 'Bluetooth GPS' option that is supposed to solve the locking has gone, at least with my installation. Not advisable. I reverted back to TomTom GPS 3.03.
@all: I solved the issue of not setting the Ext Rom version and making IIWPO non-uninstallable. New version V2 will be up in 10mins (incl. incremental fix for all that downloaded the version from yesterday).
New V2 is up now. See first post in thread.

I feel like my MDA2 is a little bit slower to respond not sure why! I added PocketMVP, Belkin Bluetooth GPS, Resco Explorer 2003 V5.0 and .NET Compact Framework 1.0 SP2 for Pocket PC 2003.
I am having problem with Belkin BT GPS; I got it to bond, detect the COM port (COM5) and baud rate(4800) to use but my MDA2 hangs up and had to soft reset. Any idea why?
I will try to install one by one and see what's causing it and report here.
edsub thanx for me it works great its a great improvement!
machine seems faster and no more lock-ups.
Keep up the good work (ill be following you)
p.s only one thing my battery seems to give me no more than 4 hours of on-time
4 hours is very different from my (and others!) experience. The 1.72 rom should even improve battery life.
My battery lasts for about 1,5 days (not measured but recalled from my memory) with approx 1-1.5 hours on the phone and bluetooth permanently switched on . . .
were can I download this rom from?
from the first msg in this thread : RUU172902WWE_eDsuBsofT V2.exe
Hi me again, dont want to sound stupid but I've tried both Opera and Explorer and cannot find any executable file in the first post. Normally it appear in some sort of info box but none to be seen on this thread and the link to the previous one!?!?! Is this something to do with XP SP2?

You cannot download it as a guest! If you are a member of this forum you have to log-in before you can see the file you want to download. That's what I encountered before so just try logging in first.
Good luck!
THank you very much superperry. Should have registered before but was always too lazy.
I have put together rom upgrade 1.72.903
This thread can be closed. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=68652#68652 for the new one
Edit: The new upgrade files are now available (see refered post)
An error need help please
I downloaded the files then followed the instruction below but now I get error
the flashing process
first the devicedata is obtained from the device, with HimaGetDeviceData.exe, this gets the operatorname, and language/country code from the extended rom, sector 2 of the BDK.
Then a tool 'HimaClearJumpCode' is executed, which erases the jump at the start of the kernel. causing the bootloader to start at next reboot.
the upgrade tool then connects to the bootloader of the xda, via serial over usb. ( port \\.\WCEUSBSH001 )
warning do not just run the 'HimaClearJumpCode' program, it will erase part of your OS rom, after which you will have to repair your device by running an entire upgrade again.
finally i got the most turn off things i faced in 2005 to back me up to 2003 but after i installed 2005 for the 4th time & desided to stick with it untill i either solve the problem or microsoft will post solution
1. Etisalat Settings for mnet & MMS
(everytime you install them they somehow crash the original DB of messaging where you will not be able to open your mesages anymore untill you do a format
2. and most importantly Arabic reading writing
after long time spent to fix those problems i finally got them working, see screen shoots
yeah ok , great but how u fixed the issues ?
lol am sorry it was a bit hard, & even worse to explain, i writing down something that might help people around doing it once i find an easy way to make it accesseble to people

Post a cab or tell us what you modified in the registry!!!
Waiting, thanks! :?
Oh something else I noticed the radio rom is 1.08.00, can you dump it?
PC) folder, take a copy of your registry after pasting the file & before softreseting the the device, then reset your device, if it will ask you then if you want to run few DLL files acept all of them, then take another copy of your registry & store it in a differant file, now go to your programs & you'll find arabizer file there in which one of them is english name, another one is arabic as '7ayarat & the 3rd one is arabic letters but mirrored in reverse, this will be always your indication if arabic is now working fine, click on this file, it will load couple of other DLLs but will give you some error message about an AOP????? file, don't mind it, now got to your control panel, (Setting) of your mobile & go to the settings Tab, again it will ask you to load some file.cpl say yes, soft reset your device with a software for soft reset not through the pen, then it will load, if you get an error about some file couldn't be loaded just reset few times & it should work, if you lost you signal in gsm, load the first registry file & softreset your mobile again, it will ask you to load some dll file again accept them then go to the settings to load the cpl file, then reset , if this doesn't work load the second resitry file & do the same proccess untill the file with the names reversed is corrected, now enjoy arabic on your system.
اود التنبية على انني لست مسؤلا عن اي مشكلة تطرأ على جهازك و العملية متعبة جدا
PS. if some get this way working for him i please him to put it in a simplified way because unfortunatly i have too little time to spare on rewriting it in an organized way, but once it worked i had to post it here because this is the best site in the world for PPC's & they deserve the best
Thanks mate I'll give a try later on
now that's interesting , thank u
anyone tried it guys am intrested to know
i think the secret is in the registry integrity & the file loading proccess, if you load the arabic files first after reseting the device they will affect the memory or the gsm loading, specifically the file CPROG.EXE which don't get loaded correctly, actually this is how i found i can fix arabic if i only get it loading after cprog & not before, thats why you put the files manually without the setup file so after you reset the device & when it asks you to load the dll files it will insert it in the registry after loading the cprog not before
guys i heared someone tried it withought backing up the registry & it worked perfectly fine, remaining only is the camera & record button & this should be it for me
i think the camera is the last problem , buttons are working fine 8)

sadly it didnt work for me,the device kept hangings on the splash screen,I tried it with wireless on and off, i did hard reset 5 times (2 with clear registery option) but nothing worked,I also upgraded to Radio 1.17 but still didnt work,I couldnt find out what's going wrong (I get prompt to overwrite 3 files while copying them into windows folder) WM2005 1.50h, Radio 1.14 then 1.17
well am not sure but regarding the hard reset only do the clear registry hive option without the format,
hi guys!
we are working for the localize Himlaya WM5.0 to Chinese and Japnese.
On the previouse OS, we need Font and registry, and also need wince.nls which support to encoding to our languages.
without replacement wince.nls, the inbox and IE cant encode to ours.
Usual, we got the wince.nls which has our lamguge support from the device of Japanese or chinese, or take from SDK emulator, or make it ourseleves with MS Platform Builder.
Till the version of WM2003se, easy to replce it.
But new OS of WM5.0, replacement of wince.nls can not be effected, even it was replaced firmly. the OS seems to be ignor that!
@On the Himalaya WM5.0, Some version such like 1.6b, 1.6h, 1.6i can get encooding with new wince.nls, but other version of WM5.0, it was not be able...cant find the reason yet.
@On the Blue Angel WM5.0, also it was ignored by OS
@On the Jasjar just we got, also it was ignored..........
We need find some solution of this system which ignore the replacement of wince.nls.
i already work for that more than 5days ........
I think to localize to Alabian, you guys will have same problems.
Example some of you can replace wince.nls, some of you can not get it.
so if you got some information, please exchange it about that, of course we also let you know if we got it!
Thanks guys!
following is our thread about localize to Chinese / Japanese..
You may know what happened on new OS.

yes. I am using WM5 1.60C WWE, I can not replace the wince.nls in rom with new one.
this is again a simplified version of installing arabic in your WM2005, just install both attached cabs in there sequence & everthing should be working fine
PS am not resposible if it crashes your device but so far it haven't crashed min
to Replacement wince.nls
PLS install this cab,
and place your wince.nls onto \Temp folder
then soft reset. you can replace wince.nls
<exactry saying, not relace.enable to read wince.nls from \Temp frolder>

its the same as my earlier version but before people comlaint about arabic keyboard not getting installed & the need of using a 3rd party arabic keyboard for it to work, also some people had trouble over writing few files & so HOPFULLY this makes the installation far more easier untill Mr Imaginet company decides to develop a fully intergrated 2005 arabizer
Imaginet already created the arabizer for 5.0, but they didn't release it yet as you can see in the JasJar arabized version, we have a new built of arabizer
i think most of you x01ht users in japan are aware that softbank issued a new rom update that has the new open.softbank.ne.jp password hard-coded as part of the rom image and so there's no way to extract it via extended rom or otherwise (it's not in the preconfig cabs/xmls either). they've also announced that after april 1, the old password which most of in japan are currently using will no longer work so we either upgrade to the new softbank rom or we can't access the open network.
anyway, i've been fiddling with this all night and i think i have a solution that i've tested on a couple of different roms but i'm hoping you guys can give it a try as well so that we can call this a solution to the problem. basically, i made the assumption that the password was somewhere hidden and encrypted in the registry though i had no idea where so basically all i did was do a registry dump with a clean install of the new sb rom, went into connections and deleted the softbank connection, then did another registry dump. finally, i did a compare of the before and after using windiff, figured out what changed and i ended up with the attached two reg files. one adds "SoftBank" as one of the connections (hklm.reg) and the other is the encrypted password (hkcu.reg). you need to import these using the registry plug-in that comes with resco explorer (just dl the trial) as that's what i used and it seemed to work. also, after you do the imports, MAKE SURE you power off (not reset) and then power back on. sometimes the registry settings don't stick if you simply reboot.
to really verify this works, you should first go in and delete your existing SoftBank connection in settings->connections tab->connections->manage existing connections (under internet). if you're not confident then go ahead do a backup beforehand or you can just run the sb extended rom again if you can't get it to work. i've tried this with the sb rom as well as an i-mate rom and it's working perfectly...i'll test it with a couple other tomorrow as well. if this works for you guys, i'll go ahead and make it into a cab file.
update: okay, i've gone ahead and made it into a cab so you don't have to muck around with importing reg files. so just download the cab if you want to run a simple cab install. the zip file contains the reg files if you want to manually import yourself. i've tested both and they work fine. again, i must emphasize that you power off after installing it and not just soft reset. try it out and let me know.
FOR THOSE OF YOU DOING CLEAN INSTALLS:
i didn't realize this but when you do a clean install, you still have to install a couple of the sb extended roms before you run my cab. specifically, you need to run PP_ConnVKK_1.33.761.1.CAB and Provisioning.exe to set up the device to even be able to accept the new password/settings. run PP_ConnVKK_1.33.761.1.CAB first and then Provisioning.exe...now once you run provisioning.exe, you'll find that it automatically creates the old SoftBank connection for you under internet->manage existing connections with the OLD password. go ahead and delete this connection, reboot (optional) and then run my cab (new sb settings.cab). power down and up again and it should work.
just to be sure i did a file compare of the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Comm\RasBook\SoftBank] "Entry" and "DevCfg" keys/entries with the old SoftBank setting active and with the new SoftBank settings active and the file compare showed that the contents were completely different. i was worried that maybe somehow the system was just somehow reviving the old password and not actually using the new one but this does not appear to be the case.
UPDATE:
after some more experimenting, it seems that the cab just restores the sb connection with whatever username/pass that you had installed previously. if you delete the the new opensoftbank username connection and then run the cab, it restores the opensoftbank username/password. if you delete the old "open" username connection, it restores that. very strange since the file compare shows that this registry dump (taken from new rom with new settings) is significantly different than a dump taken from a rom with the old settings yet it is somehow restoring the old settings. thanks for looking into this but for now, i think we have to say that this isn't working. so it seems that password is not simply stored in the registry. it must be in some hidden file that this registry dump somehow activates. in any case, i'll keep working over the coming weeks. sorry for getting everyone's hopes up.
Wow, I think that is great news for every Softbank customer!
Thanks it worked for me. I guess I will find out in April if it will work. I will cross my fingers.
Great job!!
You are the man! Great!!
thanks for checking! are you saying you're unsure if the file actually contains the NEW password and not the old one? well, it's definitely the new password as i created these files using only the new rom, a reg editor and a file compare tool so the old password never entered the picture.
you can actually run this exercise yourself and just repeat the steps i did if you want to be sure as the methodology is pretty simple. all i did was find where the encryped passwd was stored in registry and just imported it over to a different rom as is, encryption in tact. i've made no attempt to hack the actual passwd--we still have no idea what it is but as long as we can use the new settings, finding out what the passwd actually is unnecessary.

i haven't tried this yet, but if it works for you using the new ap opensoftbank now, i believe you don't have to wait until april to see if it'll work. those who've already upgraded theirs to the new rom should be using that new ap already.
i must try this myself later today.
trialdei, thanks for the great work.
that is indeed a great news, I was also wondering how to find this in the registery but was not sure that the different key I found were the correct ones. I will try on my other Hermes tonight and we shall see ! But the very promissing point here is that potentially I can even use these files for my universal and the mteor... which means... if you don't like the crap of the SB roms... just buy a WM5 device everywhere U want and put these regkeys !!!
Good job Man !!!
Yes this is great news, I think we might still need the password to use the phone as a modem connected to a notebook.
I think that is exactly what softbank does not want us users using the connection for since we would use the internet more.

actually, i don't think you need to enter the password on the pc side at all to use the phone as a modem. check this post:

how about us with new sb rom... i don't see any wireless modem application on my phone... do you have a cab file for the wireless modem app alone?. i can't find it from ftp...
guys,
softbank is blocking the modem usage with a pc and it seems that's controlled at their open ap. i don't believe that's anything to do with the password nor the applications you use. you can fire up dun on your pc with x01ht connected via usb or bt, but the connection will fail.

i think you're probably right but then i wonder what's the point of establishing the new password in the first place if the modem usage isn't an issue for them either way? all of the x01ht's making their way to hk and abroad aren't going to be used on the sb network anyway. the new read-only radio rom takes care of simlocking already so the new passwd solves what? they just don't like the idea of people running around with foreign language roms accessing their network?

i think they don't want people without the flat rate data tariff contract to use the open ap to cap the monthly pay. there are quite a few people in japan who just had the vodafone contract and running universal or hermes bought from elsewhere.
now that i have your registry solution for the new password, i cannot resist testing it on my universal. if it works, i don't have to retire my universal after april 1. thanks again.

great job, trialdei. i have not tried this yet, but i will not have to give up a2dp if this works with the docomo rom!! many thanks!
i'm a newbie on this topic softbank open access.
so what is the main purpose of having this option available for the user.
is it allow the user to have the internet access over the softbank network.
and also if possible, please guide where i can find addititional softbank open access setup instruction, besides the information is already provided by trialdie's original post on this string.
please advice.
found the existing thread on softbank open access (unlock softbank x01ht thread). got the answer from there.
great!
this is great! i was having problems with the new sb rom and asukal's mui... i can't seem to get any network signal or even passthrough connections with that combination..
i'll try this one with the new htc rom from south africa, it may work for me.
great work dude!

hi qtotter,
you need to make sure your registry settings are sticking...did you power off/on. the below new registry keys/entries should show up if you did it right:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Comm\RasBook\SoftBank]
"Entry"
"DevCfg"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\SoftBank]
"ConnectionGUID"
"SecureLevel"
"Secure"
"AlwaysOn"
"RequirePw"
"Enabled"
"EntryType"
"DestId"
if you don't see these new keys/entries then your registry changes aren't sticking.

SoftBank's known 3G/HSDPA flat-rate packet data connection setting that has hacked from old X01HT ExtROM (user name: "open", password started from "oz...") will be unusable on end of March.
The user name of new setting (available at current ROM that released on end of Nov. 2006) has changed as "opensoftbank", and still no one hacked the password itself.
However, finally I found a way to create the connetcion, using some files dumped from current X01HT ROM.
To create SoftBank's connection that can be used continuously after Apr. 1 2007, you need ROM COOKING as follows, because at least the file WIFIwake.exe should be in the ROM to make the connection.
Step 1. Cook your ROM (add following 2 files in attached ZIP) and update device.
For general instruction of Hermes' ROM cooking, see the Wiki and related resouces.
addfile Out.xml
addfile WIFIwake.exe(A.xml and Initial.exe aren't needed)
Step 2. Install ConnSBM.CAB (included in ZIP)
The connection will be created, however password entry is still empty at this moment.
Step 3. The files are in ROM, so you need to set to "Menu -> Show All Files" on File Explorer to make ROM-attributed files visible (or, use similar option for 3rd party's file explorers, such as Resco or GSFinder+).
Step 4. Run WIFIwake.exe from \Windows folder.
The password will be created into the connection made by ConnSBM.CAB at Step 2.
To confirm whether success or not, check the connection "Internet > SoftBank", and click "Edit -> Next -> Next". If "****************" is shown at the Password field, the password has been successfully created.
If the password is not created, maybe WIFIwake.exe (non-ROM attributed) exists on \Windows. After running Initial.exe, WIFIwake.exe is copied onto storage from ROM. You need to delete it before retry, if you have run Initial.exe before install ConnSBM.CAB or lost setting.
BTW, I guess this way can be applied not only Hermes, but also Universal and/or any other HTC devices those can edit OS ROM (at least, I have successed on WM6 for Universal).
Enjoy AT YOUR OWN RISK !
Great work, a lot of japanese people was pursuing this for long time! Congratulations
Awesome, I had been doing this same thing for 3-4 days no and getting nowhere.
Mad props to you.
I have the Hermes and I'll be going to work as an engineer in Japan from April. I have installed the DoCoMo ROM for the moment (simply because out of the two ROMs, it's the one to have Bootloader 1.0.4, I have no trouble reading Japanese, and I need a Japanese input that's a bit more stable than Bagoj's IME).
However I'm wondering exactly what this thread would enable me to do... I'm planning on getting a subscription with either SoftBank or DoCoMo (whichever provides SIM cards/accepts to register a foreign phone).
If I get a SoftBank subscription, would this enable me to somehow cheat the subscription on getting more Internet for free? Or if that's wrong, what exactly would it enable me to get?
I haven't looked into the phone subscription system at the moment, but soon will. Whatever this thread exactly means could be a huge help in any choice I would have to make.
Many thanks for your help in advance,
Cheers,
Yannick
Hmm, I get the connection added but when I try to run the initial.exe from Windows is doesnt do anything. Using 3DES Custom.

What Does The File intial.exe Do Exactly?
@jokinawa
How Is The Connection Created Without Running initial.exe?

I finally got the program to work. Funny thing is that I could nt cook a ROM with the initial.exe in it of it would not install. I was using the Rom Koch 0.99 release. So if I just copied the files over to a fresh install of a ROM it worked but I had to click initial.exe about 4-5 times before the "loading" graphic appeared.
I am assuming that it either installs a dll with the password encoded in it of he knows the password and didn't want it to become public. Initial.exe puts the connection password in the connection that ConnSBM.CAB creates.
Without the initial.exe running you have the connection with a blank password.
Files
Seeing as how none of these files are in the ROM itself is there any way you can post a list of file to help us re-create the process?
Well done !!!
Finally we'll be able to upgrade to XDA Live of Crossbow without fearing to lose our flat rate !!

By the way anybody courageous and kind enough to cook it with the latest WM6 version and post the ROM ?
I am trying to do that but I am learning from scratch... and it will probably take me a huge amount of time
Actually the best would be to compile it with some utilities to be able to read Japanese fonts and input Japanese...
This is wonderful news indeed! Now we only need a way to cook Japanese fonts and stable input into new ROMs and life would be perfect...
Great!

Every time I cooked the "addfiles" the initial.exe would not run properly and create the connection. If I cooked the other files minus the initial.exe and the cab it still wouldnt create the password. I could only get it to work by copying the files after flashing. Anybody get it to work in a cooked rom?

@^#)(!^@$ MMS Lite doesnt work
More EASY way has been found!!!
Another Japanese SoftBank user has found more easier way to add the new SB connection.
Now you DON'T need any ROM cooking. Please move to new thread.

This kitchen is based on sprint 3.35 release
NOTE:This is an os rom. radio 3.35 and olipro 2.40 unlocker required.
Features:
* Only 57 mb, includes all tools and everything.
* Very easy to cook. just run buildflash.bat and follow instructions.
* Clean
oem folder has been cleaned, windows live and some other stuff is removed from sys, Every program has its own folder. if you want it to be cleaner just delete related folders from sys folder.
* Adjusted security policies
* based on original sprint release. It is not a remixed version. Almost everthing extracted from original sprint rom, including xip, sys, oem drivers etc.
* Fixed PIE, not freezing anymore.
I have spent lots of time on it and have adjusted lots of stuff that i cant remember.
I have learnt most of stuff from xda-developers.com, ppcgeeks.com, howardforums.com , no2chem and dcd and they are source of some of the packages i have included. So thank you all.
It would not be possible without the wonderfull kitchen tools either.
So please thank them also if you like this kitchen.
Instructions: Just run buildflash.bat and follow instructions.

Ignore. I got it from megaupload finally.
Thanks for the perfect kitchen...
No bugs, fast, easy to customize and no attempt to install bleeding edge updates!!! This is exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks again!!!
my experience.
Great rom - easy to use, and fast. Although it didn't like being compiled under parallels on Mac OS X, I had no issues with the build file under a windows laptop.
My only problem that i have found (kind of major) is that I can not connect to the internet via #777 on Telus. I have the "Ev" on my title bar, and the internet briefly connects, but quickly drops the connection saying unknown problem. I have no idea why this is happening, but would love a solution
Otherwise google maps, works fine w/ wifi, and I was unable to get tomtom to find the map (no maps found) so have no clue there.
Thanks for the rom, and if anyone has advice on how to resolve my two issues that would be great Keep up the great work.My ex

That is weird. You might want to try without any add-ons and reprogram your phone via *22803 using option 1 and then option 2 to update prl.
I have flashed 5-6 phones ... have not had single problem in last three weeks.
No body else has complained at ppc or xda yet. Since not even one other person is having same issue, I am guessing it’s not a bug; it’s just your settings.
If you can help me with duplicating the problem on my phone, i probably can fix it.
Tomtom issue is not rom related. Tomtom maps should be stored in folder in the root directory of sd card.
Sure what info would you like to know? I performed the following:
- Installed the Olipro 2.40 unlocker
- Flashed with Sprint Rom 3.35 latest
- Used the buildflash.bat on a windows box to create my install
- Installed the created rom
- Performed a *22803 with option 1 & 2
- Checked with Telus that I do infact have a data plan
- When I connect to the internet either through Opera or IE I get this message "Cannot connect for an unkown reason blah blah please check settings"
Now I have tried with a username & password (esn dec) with no luck. Now with my ignorance I have misplaced the data I wrote down on MSID, NAI, DUN, etc numbers so I have no way of verifiying that data. Now when I installed the sprint rom it started the install its extra stuff after an accidental power cycle - did that fubar stuff? Should I of relocked my phone, reinstall telus, then re-unlock and perform the above steps?
So with tomtom the maps are in the root of the SD? In a dir? Do I have to edit the currentmap.dat file?
Thanks for the quick reply and help - what other info do you want
from here
http://rapidshare.com/files/103173398/Erase_Extended_Rom.zip.html
flash the attached rom ( it includes flashing utility) . it will erase sprint stuff you have in extended rom.. that should fix data problem
tomtom maps should be \\storage_card\usa and canada maps
no need to edit any files
Did that, and re-entered the data for my #777 connection (username and password). Unfortunately I still have no internet. Will keep plugging away. Thanks
However TomTom is working now with maps

i have followed the steps you lave listed, still i am unable to duplicate the problem.
may be flash telus oem, get data working and then copy every single epst setting before you reflash.
inorder to flash telus oem you will need relocker from ppc site.
EDIT: seems like internet problems are related to sprint customization..
