Hi, there are some strange problems on my device I'm listing them here, so if any one knows what's wrong and how to fix it please answer.
1. a few days ago i tied to flash the new radio rom 1.38.00.11 on my device so i put it manually in bootloader mode (my SPL is "1.10.Oli") and everything went without any error but afterward radio is still the old 1.16.00.00, then i flashed it using SSPL
2.I spotted "Hard-SPL-V2" and flashed it on my current "1.10.Oli" then no RUU managed to connet to this new "1.11.Oli" spl ,what a great way to BRICK your device, so flashed the previous version using SSPL
3.and the most strange thing my ExtROM seems to be locked and I cannot flash on it, no matter what I try it's not flashable, so when I want to flash a rom I have to extract it and make sure that the nbh file does not contian ExtRom.

you probably don't want to either, encyclopedia dramatica is crap.
anyway, here's what you need to do;
flash 1.13 to your phone, from here on in, you must use CustomRUU (download it from the thread) to flash stuff to your phone; just drop an NBH in with CustomRUU and run it and pick your SPL, easy.

OK, I've read the wiki and various FAQs on the topic. I am basically looking for confirmation on my plan as I have never done anything like this before. I don't want to see sparks flying out of my 8525 after trying to upgrade.
I have the 1.16 Radio and 1.34 ROM currently and I want to get to 1.34 radio, 2.06 ROM, 3.3 AKU. I think my procedure should be to:
1. perform the CID/SIM unlocker v3 per http://forum.xdadevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=293665
2. Install the latest ROM per:
http://rapidshare.com/files/18315008/RUU_HER_CINGULAR_2.06.502.3_1.34.00.10_SPL1.04.exe which should update the ROM and radio.
And I believe all of this is able to be done without downgrading to boot loader 1.04.
Thanks for the help.

You dont have too SuperCID but I would. That ROM will not downgrade your BL to 1.04. You BL will stay the same or become 1.04 if you happen to have something lower, which I doubt.

Are you saying it won't downgrade the BL regardless of the SuperCID status, or depending on which BL it currently has?
@pstritt: Based on the other info you provided, I'm guessing you must have SPL 1.06. You should be able to flash that ROM without going SuperCID first, as I've done so myself. My SPL remained 1.06 (why it did being contingent upon the answer to the question above).
Really no reason to SuperCID anymore...
Just run the Cingular rom in the wiki as your first step. Second step is to run Oli's 1.10.Oli Bootloader.
So...
1) http://rapidshare.com/files/18315008/RUU_HER_CINGULAR_2.06.502.3_1.34.00.10_SPL1.04.exe

Most of the links for radio only use Des' SSPL, so, SuperCID isn't needed. In fact, you don't even need to worry about having the appropriate BL either as Des' BL uses 1.09 to flash radios, even the 0108...
So, grab the packed RUU and run. Done.
If you aren't SuperCIDing your device, you **REALLY** should install the Oli BL; reason is that if there is a bad radio flash, it will save you in a VERY big way! Highly recommended to do it before you start mucking around too much with radios/os/etc...

Here again, I wholeheartedly agree. Until 1.10.Oli came about the light never went on with me as to the hidden benefits of SuperCID/1.04, despite that fact I had no burning desire to flash cross-CID or "generic" ROMs (...yet!).
Now I understand that it'll give you the ability to manuever in the BL if you happen to hose your radio, etc.

I've been keeping up with that thread, read alot of the wiki, but still can't seem to wrap myself around all the info I've taken in. I think I'm starting to get it some now. no, enter the thread, there's only one available; the 1.01 stuff is only available as NB files and you have to know what you're doing to flash those whereas 1.10 is available as an RUU update that you can run on your computer to flash; that's the one you want

Stick to running the installer (ROMUpgradeUt.exe) to flash the 1.04-based version unless you really know what you're doing. Olipro left his 1.01-based version as .nb's for this very reason.
Show ExtROM Version
Hi, I'm new of the forum, I would want to know how to show the version of the ExtROM in “Device Information” with version 0.20 of XDA Live. Thanks a lot for the answer.
Ok, well I've just successfully patched a dll file... OEM_FlashDrv.dll specifically.
the good news is... SuperCID is now redundant
Patcher included below; this is tested and working on WM6; it *should* work on all other versions but I can't guarantee anything; it shouldn't brick your OS; also, if your ExtROM disappears after patching, then you need to install the privileged test developer certificate onto your phone and it'll work.
Open the Security Configuration Manager, connect your PDA, let it sync; first turn off security (Check your PDA for prompts) then in the Device menu, click the option to add developer certificates. after this completes, soft reset and you're done.
if you find this patcher for whatever reason doesn't make it writable then try the one from WM5 posted later in the thread.
also YOU MUST DEPLOY DEVELOPER CERTIFICATES VIA SECURITY CONFIGURATION MANAGER OR SDKCERTS.CAB
awesome news olipro! you're the best!
Fantastic work, now we just need a tool to re-CID our devices .
Thanks again for all your great work mate, very much appreciated!
Olipro said:

(I'm not saying which one for the reason that HTC might well be reading, and might not appreciate it if I mentioned this)
shortly I'll create a patch you can run on your PDA to enable your ExtROM to be writable too, but for now, just hold your horses.

So, would it be possible to remove the OEM_Flashdrive altogether and have *no* ext_rom? and, thereby have that 10MB of ram available to the main storage? Or, would the OS.nb need to be larger as Kyphur's testing is indicating..?

Olipro, you're releasing one great tool after another. Awesome job, man!
I'd bet that there is a way to reverse pof's unlocker; if you're patching it one way, you've got to be able to patch it the other too.... Although, the reality is that at least here, with Cingular, there is NO WAY that they'll say, "Hey, you're SuperCID! No warranty for you!" Just play dumb and say, "I have NO IDEA how that happened!" Of course, if the REASON for the warranty is because you've toasted the device with a bad flash and didn't install oli's BL, then, I'm guessing, "I have no idea how that happened" isn't really going to cut it!

You could always say that you were flashing an official Cingular ROM when your computer BSOD'd or something to that effect. If it's completely dead, they can't really confirm or deny what you're telling them. But don't do that bcause it's not ethical, you know...

The really crappy part is that I just unlocked my parents new 8525 about a day or two before Oli's new BL was released But, it's all good anyways.. Besides, Cingular in the US does the warranty themselves, and all they do is mail you a replacement and you mail back your broken phone. I don't think they ever really check it out other than to look for the purple-sticker that shows them "water-damage".

The problem with Cingular is the employees in the store are stupid about such things generally they'll give you a new phone there but then cingular sends them out for refurbishing. The company that refurbishes them then goes through all sorts of things and if they find that you did indeed did do something like this, your next bill will be $450 higher. I had a friend that got hit with one of these. I don't think it's terribly likely you get caught for a SuperCID but realize you're playing russian roullete there!
Can't see my ExtRom after the patch
I installed the patch and cannot see the ExtROM. I did a search for "privileged test developer certificate" but could not find anything that made sense to me.
Can someone please direct me to the post that explains what this is and how to install it onto my phone?
Thanks
I have a new (refurb) Cingular 8525. Ihave been doing a lot of reading and research. The amount of information available here, Is damn near intimidating. The first thing I need to do is flash the radio. The shipped version is 1.16.00.00, and the signal strength is terrible. Since everyone here, sends the newbies to Mr Vanx tutorials that is where I started. I flashed to Olipro 2.10. And my bootloader confirms the flash worked. The next step is to flash the radio. But his instructions say to use autodetect. This does not work. So I went to the Olipro post for v7 and he says in his instructions that autodetect will no longer work, force SSL. But later in that thread when this question is asked, the person is told that if he knows that it is 2.10, then check that box and the one that says is it hard SPL. When I try that it warns that it is for version 1.11...etc. I would really appreciate some good advice. Thank you in advance, for reading this far.

The conflict is actually that the custom_ruu has been updated to properly auto detect. You can either A) get the new Custom_RUU (and that should work) or B) just select Oli2.10 and check the box for HardSPL and keep going.

Thank you for your prompt reply. And forgive me for questioning your advice. Is the latest radio 1.50 packaged with the latest Custom RUU? I downloaded the one from This Thread in the resources sticky. And it still could not query the device. And if I try the method you suggested it gives me the following warning:
"Please be aware that this flasher is intended solely for SPL 1.11 and you MUST have 1.11 Hard-SPL installed in order to flash any unsigned files."
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
I have flashed my "Wizard" literally (see my signature) hundreds of times. With only a couple of minor errors. I would like to upgrade to WM6, in the very near future. But I paid too much money to brick this sucker!! (Read: My wife would kill me!)
Anyone else have any insight to this? I'm having the same gut wrenching inhibitions about trying out the vp3g rom because of this
"Please be aware that this flasher is intended solely for SPL 1.11 and you MUST have 1.11 Hard-SPL installed in order to flash any unsigned files"
error in the RUU
The RUU from that thread should autodetect, but if it isn't you may have a comm error with your USB. I am 99% sure you can just select and go, but I won't bet your Hermes on it. With HardSPL you are virtually brick-proof. If you use force SSPL, you will bypass HardSPL. I would do the following:
1. While NOT connected to USB, put the phone in bootloader mode
2. Connect the phone to the USB (this will prevent ActiveSync from hogging the port).
3. Start the RUU
4. Manually select Olipro 2.1
5. Do it.

I wish more people would post like that things would be so much easier to find, Instead we have 3 gazillion posts that say "Somebody help me please!"
The Hermes Wiki needs to be updated as the old Custom RUU is posted and Olipro new RUU is only available in the thread mentioned above. I discovered this a while back and figured it would be changed by now. Leaving the old RUU on the Wiki is problematic and causes confusion for those not in the know.
My 2 cents..
couldn't agree more.
the wiki is a compilation of a communities contributions... You can update it!!!
I try to correct anything I find!
I'd update if I knew what I was talking about! I don't have the latest version of the RUU, and probably won't for some time. This installation went perfectly for me, I don't see the need to change any time soon! But if anyone else has the info, they should deffinately update the wiki
Thank you very much! It was very helpful. I've met this problem too And now it solved.

Titan bastards? Kind of rough don't you think?
I know he posted something over at PPCGeeks. He put it in the hardspl thread. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=9093
I think he means it affectionately.
Maybe we are Titan Bastards, it seems Sprint and other companies have abandoned this phone, we onlyl have a few here like Olipro, DCD and others who continue to develop this rom and make it awesome, so my thanks to them.
yeah i talked with Olipro letting him know that i packaged it and put it up in that link. Not sure yet if he will redo it and update here or what, but he generally uses those terms for his Hard-SPL users. Like his topic in irc for another device SPL "...Hard-SPL-2.60 is out now ****wits! ..."
Either way his patched SPL is working now and it's currently available, but it may be revised.
He's British right? Reminds me of a movie I just watched "This is England" where he calls one of the kids a "cheeky bastid!". BTW, just tried 2.40 right now, works wonderful.
olipro patched that bootloader fast as hell. nothing we do here would be possible without his help. thank you olipro
I am anything u want me to be OLIPRO !!! for i am a unworthy titan owner who has been blessed by all that U and others do for my less than perfect phone.

how has sprint abandoned this phone? we wouldnt even have this new rom and bootloader if the rom sprint has been working on hadnt been leaked (and after using it for 2 days i can see why it hasnt been officially released yet)
im a noob i know i know i shouldnt be doing this unless i have a good understanding which i thought i did but now i am thinking twice. I tried to intall the new unlocker 2.40, i did everything it asked of me and now its stuck in the three color screen and i have no clue how to get out of it nothing is working, Activesync wont connect. someone please help!!!!
I am in the same boat. I got to the boot loader screen no problem, I upgraded to titan_radio_3.27.00.exe no problem. I then ran ROMUpdateUtility.exe from dcd_2.0.0_beta_sprint.exe.
No errors or problems but when i rebooted it hangs onit just hangs at the "HTC smart mobility" screen.
If I tried to replace the dcd_2.0.0_beta_sprint.nbh with another .nbh could that save me?
I am able to get to the boot loader screen and have USB, but on warm or cold boot it just hangs at the "HTC smart mobility" screen.
Seems if i have boot loader access, i am not hosed.
I did run the latest unlocker Hard-SPL-MFG(2).exe
the new radio/spl is not compatible with the older roms. Something in the XIP has changed and if not present your device will hang.
are you aware of a solution?
you guys are having problems cause you did not run titanrelocker before flashing the ne stuff, or if you ran it you did it wrong.
it is imperative that you run the bat file inside of titanrelocker folder as opposed to running ruu.exe file.
for you to do that now that you are stuck ya gotta boot to bootloader mode , flash a older rom then activesynce and relock the phone the right way.
I just want to point out the fact that this is about the 4th question of the exact same nature i have answered today. I had none of these problems because i READ before i installed. none of what ive said here is news as it WAS ALL MENTIONED IN THE FIRST POST OF KMARTBURRITO'S THREAD
the moral of the story: dont friggin mess with anything if you cant be assed to read the first post of the thread of the rom you're flashing.
have a nice day
Thanks, i appreciate your comments and i thought i was understanding this.
Can you recommend a older ROM and DL location?
Also just to be sure, to re flash i would just switch the current .nbh for the older one. Correct?
As a linux admin i understand noobs on the forum. I am trying to learn I am sorry for the inconvenience. I only posted cause i am desperate and failed trying to fix on my own.

I didn't use a relocker and I'm up and running fine. So I don't think your comments work for everyone.

I think he means it affectionately.
Maybe we are Titan Bastards, it seems Sprint and other companies have abandoned this phone, we onlyl have a few here like Olipro, DCD and others who continue to develop this rom and make it awesome, so my thanks to them.

Quite possible as I don't always understand British humor.

I flashed my phone awhile ago. So it was before any new hard spl.
Anybody that can upload it here or link it to here, from somewhere other than ppcgeeks? There site is down, and I'm sitting here ready to re-up the SPL to try the new dcd rom, since his 1.6.10 keeps not waking up for phone calls and SMS.
I do completely apologize but hope someone can help.
I've been through the wiki, I've search for "revert to factory rom fuze" "download factory raphael rom" etc etc etc. Why can I not find the instructions on reverting back to factory Roms? I see "where to download" them but cannot find a wiki on the procedure for warranty replacement.
I'm sure I'll get flamed but I really can't find it.
Thanks for the help.
Change back to original SPL - See Olipro's HardSPL thread for that.
Flash AT&T Shipped ROM
Done.

Not if you are flashing the shipped ROM that came with your device. You shouldn't have the upgrade 262 error being that you are flashing the ROM that came with your device.
How am I wrong? Either way will work.
OH and BTW there is no such thing as a AT&T Fuze...it's a HTC Fuze!

First, why are you arguing with someone who obviously knows more about it than you?
Second, it doesn't matter when you flash the new SPL if you're flashing the one from that rom.
arguing? i read a huge thread about some guy who didn't do the SPL last and screwed up his device so i didn't want this guy to do the same.
lol arguing. wow, lighten up.
oh and

UPDATE: STEP BY STEP HOW TO RETURN TO STOCK SPL - FOR WARRANTY REASONS ONLY!
0. be sure to first restore stock OS, and stock radio. stock SPL is always to be done last!!
1. download the stock spl package from this post.
2. also download the original hardspl from the attachments in this post.
3. run the hardspl exe but do not click anything in RUU yet. just let the hardspl EXE extract the files for flashing.
4. the SPL you want to revert to is a .NBH file, put the NBH in the extracted hardspl package, overwriting the original NBH file in it!
5. continue with the RUU (or if needed, run SSPL-Manual.exe manually, then run RUU when it goes to black screen), it goes to 100%, reboots, done.
+6. to verify, volume down + reset, see version number on tricolour screen, should now just say 1.90.0000.
that's it.

Yep, because I knowingly give out false information to users to "brick" there phones.
oh and again in your signature there is no such thing as a AT&T Fuze...but I guess with some EXTENSIVE research you would have known that!
lol you make me laugh. im done with this. omg there is no att fuze?!!?! really?!??????????????????????????????? my signature is so extensively awesome.

Because you got the information you needed, and because apparently you are a moron (note: I rarely accuse users of this so feel particularly special.) I am closing this thread before you do something else stupid.
Side Note: if you knew where Oli posted how to revert your rom, then why did you start a new thread for the issue. I honestly have half a mind to ban you for not reading AND then choosing to be an idiot on top of it.
