We do not normally advertise our products on this forum but get many many requests for compatability.
We have managed to succesfully test a budget dual sim that works with the Hesmes (Orange M3100) as well as o2 Exec Vario 2 (HTC 3300) Spv m700 (HTC 3600) mobiles.
We have used a 3g sim and High Speed Data.
We did need to use a sim card cutter to get a clean cut but it worked a treat.
The trick is to ensure that you use the white padding inside the dual sim to apply presure down on the dual sims.
The dual sim displays a program dual sim card which allows you to switch sims.
The solution to unlock this mobile is available on this forum.

can you go into more detail here, basically from a noob's point of view, how does one go about using 2 sims in the hermes? I'm very interested.
This should be moved to the Hermes Accessories forum but I do have a question.
On your site which adapter will fit a Cingular 8525, and will it ever be possible to have a no cut solution for at least one of the SIM's wince one of the SIMs is my company and I would be killed if I cut the company SIM card. I have no problem with cutting my own SIM. Also I see you do not have any dual SIM for 3G SIMs that have the menu select, you only offer the power off/on for 3G, this is a big pain especially on a PDA using WM5 or WM6 it take forever to reboot.
Advanced MENU Twin SIM (V9.6) with SPV M700
Hi, I have just installed the dual SIM adapter to my orange contract SPV M700 and can’t get the menu to display. I have tried the dual SIM in my older SPV and all seems fine
Does the phone need to be SIM/CID unlocked?
Can you help?
Thanks

Too early to say - I'm hoping Freeyourmobile can advise how he got it working!
The fitting is good, little tight but ok - as soons as I get it working I'll update the post!.
I bet the battery life blows!!
I used the latest dual sim, I think it was version 10 or 11, and my battery was murdered compared to without. I read in another post that this is due to the auto switching function, and that the only dual sim you could use without the battery drain that Pof refers to is a plain, turn it off and reset manually - Dual sim holder.
Which, given a flat battery, is just fine by me...

Finally got it working after changing the bios and am sorry to say the poor battery performance is only surpassed by the impact on the phone’s performance.
Looks like I need to find an alternate solution?

Use a simple power on-off dual sim holder and the program posted here. For me it works perfectly:
. no battery problem
. current sim always known
. easy switch

Any ideas?.
I saw this on the net, but it looks very expensive.

Simore seems the only one working, my old adapater good for qtek 9090 worked only the first day, after it stop working (I try also a hard reset but no luck). I can switch only after a soft reset. But Simore seems to drain a bit the battery (watch here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=364884). Ciao.

yes i am looking for recommended dual sim adapters for the touch cruise too
Oh this would be good as I am in the US every week switching sims. I don't suppose it would let me access DATA off one sim and Phone services off the other eh?

Yeah! You nail it, but, something does'nt feel right on this site or am getting paranoid?
like i asked before, will any of the sim adapters, actually keep both sims active at all times or this isnt possible ?
If not, which one of that m99 site will work for polaris?
This isn't possible. Only dual-sim phones can do that because they have two receivers integrated.
I don't know which one will work. I can only say that if you want to use UMTS you have to buy an analogue adapter. Afaik digital adapters can work with an UMTS-Sim but they can't use the UMTS features like HSDPA. So you can use the UMTS-Sim in GSM-Mode only.
Hello,
I have a Black 1 SIMORE v6.0 on my HTC cruise. It's works perfectly in edge and 3G mode.
With Radio ROM original, i have problem with 3G network, the network disconnect after 5 seconds, but after upgrade to the last ROM radio, it's OK.
There is an automatic permute function, like 10 minutes on my edge network, and 5 minutes on 3G network. Work good, it take less than 15 seconds to change , but if you are on call , it's disconnect you and change the network if the 10 or 5 minutes expires.....
But It's OK for me , i swap only to check my voicemail or sms and permute directly to my principal network.
I don't know about battery life but i have only one phone in my pocket and it's the only one solution i found for that
To Greg_o: can you please confirm if you can use HSDPA with the simore adapter? I am thinking to get one as well. Thanks.
HSDPA is activate in my options... I can tell you more in 4 days, my new 3G options ( TV ,visio , internet etc..) will be activate ... but, how i can see that HSDPA is working ? i already have the 3G on the bar level reception.
The easiest way would be to do a speedtest. I would suggest to use the test used in this topic so we can easily compare.
If your speed is high enough -> it could be only HSDPA.
my results without SIMORE :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2082686&postcount=67
I cut my SIM this week and post my result with SIMORE after
I now use a Datopal 6th Generation Dualsim Cut Adapter. It's an analogue one. Things seem to work fine so far. Tried with T-Mobile and HSDPA works (speed was only 440kbit/s, but that's what I got before I used Dualsim also). To be sure I only activated the UMTS frequencies in the settings, so it should really work.
There are only some problems when it comes to show the right distributor of my simcard. I don't have problems, when I use different networks. Only when I use the same network (one sim is directly from the network distributor and one is from a reseller who uses the same network) the display didn't change the provider name. So without a third party tool I'm unable to say which card is active. I used SimDisplay to get rid of this problem, but I'm sure that there are enough alternatives.
Main positive aspect of the dual sim is the low cost of 6$ per unit (including shipping). The card was directly imported from Hongkong, so delivery time was about a week (I paid with credit card).
It really depends on the network and SIM card type.
Here (france) I have an Orange and one SFR USIM cards, I can't do any 3G on it.
In fact, I can log on to the 3G network but when I try to make a call, network is downgraded to GSM.
Video-call don't work (that's the real test for 3G connectivity, calling your video answering machine).
I'm now thinking into buying an analogue dual sim adapter, to prevent any more meddling than a mere switch between the SIM card and the phone.
Anyone know of any dual sim card adapter that works in UK - 3 network?

well i ordered those dual sim adapters there - and guess what - i got the wrong ones. so its not the best idea to get those things there.
i tried to call them but the number is not working ...
Anyone tried this one? Selles says it will work for cruise: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=160263857295
Same guy is selling another version, with a picture of a diamond using this dual sim adapter. (photoshop or real? don't know yet)
I've ordered one, will post my result when I recieve it. May take a week or so.
I have tried this one, which is for "all phones": http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=250267107670
didn't work good. The STK menu came up, but the phone freezes everytime I try to change number. It ask for pin, then hangs. (and my dads sony ericsson slows down when this is inserted.. is this normal?)
I have been trying to use a dual sim adaptor with Athena but would not boot with it on. Anybody had any success? It will be great for me to be able to use both 3 and standard without removing the sim. it is a pain to remove it on Athena as this is under battery and sometimes needs a flat screwdriver to remove it...

Do you mean dual SIM or dual SD?
Dual sim of course not dual SD
Well, i've got an old DualSIM adaptor (anlog) which worked fine on my Himalaya.
My Athena boots without problems when i use this adaptor, but it takes me 3 or 4 restarts of the phone to get the DualSIM adaptor changin the SIM.
But i guess i have some issues with my SIMCards, they really look screwed up, makes me wonder why they work anyway
Maybe a newer Radio could have an impact on this Issue too.
Right now i use Radio 1.50 and AP Dual PK3.
If your SIMCards are screwed up the Athena won't boot, also my SIMAdaptor needs both SIMCards entered. With only one SIMCard in it, the Athena won't boot.
BTW: SIMDisplay (can be found on sourceforge.net) is the perfect Todayscreen Plugin for Displaying the active SIM.
I have one running but ...
finally I obtained a Simore dual sim working. But my problem is due I have one line for voice and other one for data, if should be possible to have some mechanism that in base to which sim is activated obtaining working the data connection or not. Do you know if it is possible?
Hi Beginner. Could you please post the model info of the Simore dual SIM you found worked with Athena? I'm currently looking for one. Thanks.

The Connection Setup Wizard will detect the network that you've just switched to and offer to set your data connection to match it. It'll do that every time the network changes.
If you're looking to buy a SIMore dual SIM adapter for the Athena, DON'T. The SIMore dual SIM won't let you connect to WCDMA network so you won't be able to use HSDPA or 3G!!!! I bought one from them and in the process of getting an RMA to return this piece of junk back to them now. Their online ad is fraudulent when they say it's 3G compatible. It is not. It only let you connect to GSM which only offers up to EDGE.
Is there any dual SIM adapter that will let you connect at 3G speeds out there?
PS: If you're only using EDGE at the moment and don't think you will ever never for the rest of your life upgrading to HSDPA, then by all means, flush your money down the toilet and buy this expensive piece of junk.
Thanks for the warning. Thought it was useful to have.
no dual sim
shame there is none yet. it will be great to have a truely dual phone. Networks will hate it
I think it could be posible but not easy to create a soft sim somehow. instead of having to change my three.co.uk hdspa compat sim between Athena (why the hack they do not do the sim reader as a slot accessible without removing battery) and my mac laptop is a nightmare. I tried to use Wifirouter, but it crashes athena quite often.

are you using a dual sim system?
does it works? which is it?
thanks.
i tried using few none worked. I find very difficult in swaping sims without the add o a flat screwdriver, also removing battery is not fun.
I am wondering if it will be possible in developing a virtual sim card that will copy the info from our sim card allowing the phone to work with it?
I am tired of having two mobile phones in my pocket: my brand new TD2 (private use) and my Nokia 6020 (business use).
So I would like to use my TD2 for private and work.
Does anybody know if there is a working Dual Sim Adapter for the TD2?
I tried one (no clue which brand or version, its marked with YANG - 16 - A) but it doesn't work:
First of all it does not realy fit under the back cover, it's a non-cut version.
It adds a STK menu to the TD2 but I have no clue how to use it.
The first sim works fine, but the second sim is not recognized, and does not work.
A little bump up
Maybe this one fits... I don't know (I need to wait a few more days before I get the diamond ).

I am after the same, but the only one clearly advertised as tested and working with TD2 is Simore Platinum.

At 70 euros it's far too expensive to justify at the moment, especially as we still only have their word for it.
Apparently as phones only have one transmitter/receiver it is not possible to receive calls from 2x active Sims. Their workaround is to have an automatic setting where the SIMS auto-switch, so you can get notified of any missed calls, or SMSes. In reality the workaround for dual lines is to auto-divert the calls for the unused sim to the active one, leaving the auto-switch to pick up SMS from the other SIM to a schedule.
OK, I thought I'd give some cheaper versions a go from freeyourmobile.biz
Magicsim Ghost Dual SIM Card (Non-Cut)
Magicsim DIGITAL Dual SIM (Cut)
I've only tried the Ghost and it works fine on O2 Sims, but with some caveats:-
1. The Sim holder folds around the battery, and I can just about get the case to clip on with a bit of a band/gap on one side/edge. For me this is OK because the TD2 slides into my Proporta Aluminium flip-case, so you don't notice.
2. It doesn't seem to support 3G/HSPDA data, I can only get Edge, but this isn't too much of a problem for me, as I only use data to periodically check email.
3. Everytime you switch SIMS it takes around 30 seconds to re-register, and this includes a pop-up that asks me to select a Network Carrier, and wait for a configuration process to complete. This happens every time you switch SIMS, no matter how many times.
4. No instructions for auto-switching, but a google should sort that.
As I'm happy for now, and don't want to start cutting up SIM-cards, I haven't tested the DIGITAL, but I suspect it wil be the same as it's the same manufacturer.
UPDATE 1: I had a replacement/spare battery from ebay, which was slightly thicker, the original HTC stock battery allows the case to clip on with only a very slight gap
UPDATE 2: Definitely works fine 'with' 3G Sims, but no support for 3G/HSPDA Data transfer. As I said, not a big deal for me personally.
UPDATE 3: There is a setting in Connections Setup to disable Auto-Configuration, which removes this annoyance as both my SIMS are O2. Not sure if you'd get away with this from 2x SIMS from different networks
UPDATE 4: Auto-Switching is only 0-9 minutes global switch. The info on the web suggests there is supposed to be an advanced mode that allows more functionality, but might be issue with this phone or OS, as to why this isn't available. STK mode only appears in menu. Still, what I've done is associate this STK program with holding down the 'call' button, so easy to switch SIMS quickly and easily now.

IMHO -
1. Only cut version adaptor will work, as thr s no space fr 2 non cut SIMS
2. No one can gaurantee 100% working adaptor, as it is dependent on how well SIMS r cut n thn avoiding loose connections
3. Circuit of SIMS - Different operators (countries) use diff config fr SIMS n hence difficult to say which SIMS will work n whthr 3g/HSDPA will work fr every SIM
4. Both SIMS numbers cannot be online together, since Radio s designed to receive only signal thru 1 SIM - workarnd can be frwrdng calls frm SIM 2 to SIM 1, while SIM 1 s online and vice versa
5. Concept is 100% workable - i m using Dual SIM Adaptor (costing arnd $3) fr last 1 month n its works like a charm with GPRS, Edge, 3G as well as HSDPA connections

It works as it should.. the only bugger is that every time you change the active sim, it forces you to re.login to your google account.

How do you change between the two numbers? Did it cost you extra to get this from Vodafone?
The double sim is a product from vodafone.. About 15euro once for it. You give them your numbers and in 1- 2 days you get the new card.
To change betwen numbers you have several options. Either the sim menu and select the numer you want.. Boot the phone and and use he pin you want.(each number has a pin) or dial 0 or 00 to reboot the sim. The phone asks for the pin
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
Anyone using these adaptors? I need to order one for my phone.
I have a Vodafone and an O2 sim using an Xperia Mini Pro and want to have both in it at the same time.
Just want to know if it will work on an Xperia Mini Pro which might not be the same as the X10 Mini Pro for compatibility or whatever. Never done this before.
Check out www.magic-sim.com I got one for my Samsung galaxy s2 from them and it's a great little device. There's a compatibility checking function on the website so you could check the mini pro there.
I used it, 3 years ago... You only require a phone with a "sim menu", (the one with your carrier options... And a case big enough to be able to close it with this sim that is a little bit thicker.
The one I tested made disappear your carrier "sim menu", and replaced it with a custom menu that allowed to change the sim... Even allowed to schedule the changes...
The bad thing is the time it takes to obtain signal after making the change ( the same time it takes when you turn on the phone), and that you have to cut your SIMs to be able to insert them...
Now I sow one that did'n require to cut the Sim, but I think that's too big for lots of phones.
The one I have from magic-sim fits really well. Sim switching takes about 4 seconds. It sounds like the technology has improved a lot since you used it.

Hi,
Since my HTC universal broke the LCD I start to find a replacement.
I found a friend who have a TG01 with no use... and he borrowed the device before I buy it.
I am running with the device since last Sunday, and I must say that the cons of this device (battery), for me it´s ok (4h30) of use (mix of calls, emails, etc).
I can not reach this time with my HTC
I had found some "problems" but already solved, using search in here.
But, on other side, I have some problems that I could not found the solution.
1. I can not put the device in 3G, only in 2G (I try changing in appropriate settings zones).
If I put in "automatic".... always in 2G and my home area have 3G.
So I decided to leave the device with GSM only.
2. Some cases, when I make/receive a phone call, the others persons inform me that
they can not hear me correctly (like I have poor signal, but the times I could check the
signal, it was full).
3. I use the TG01, with a bluetooh car kit (he did not access the contacts in the phone)
Works fine, but yesterday I found that the TG01 was "frozen" several times in the
day...???
In the evening I found that the freeze are related with bluetooh connections to the car
kit. Connecting/disconnecting.
The 3 problems that I have should be related to radio version???
I have:
software 5005.0000.0171 SP-00
radio version 5005.0000.0171
Thanks

Hi,
Yes your problems are from the radio version and from your carrier nerwork!
I have the same problem in Romania because i have more phones and also 3 carriers.
In one case, I use this phone with the Cosmote carrier from Romania it gave me the same problem as you have (the Cosmote carrier has two networks- one for GSM (2G) and one for 3G). Because the two internal network my phone see that i am in roming and give all that problems!
I installed the Feropont rom ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=969087 )and it works ok by now, Mirolg roms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906969)was also ok for me untill a point (is with Sense)!
Another rom I tried is fxdjacentfxd (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=993343) (best free memory) unfortunatly it gave me an error because of the carrier and i changed.

I installed feropont rom !!!
Looks fine, but still have the problem of 3G...
Tomorow I will check the sound!!!
Thanks again!!
Perhaps I quit!!!
Hi,
Well, I try radio 1600 and now 300.
In this weekend, 1600 still have bad quality sound (people can not hear me very well).
In this morning (early) I flash again the same rom with radio changed for 300, but still haven´t 3G (for my experience I think I will have sound problem).
Today before flashing I put another SIM card (vodafone) and ... I have 3G, after changing the settings.
I leave the settings in HSPAD, put my TMN sim card ..... and no signal!!! (like usual).
My SIM card what is giving me "problems" had +- 4 months.
(Had 3G in the HTC Universal, with same card).
So, my problems could be in the SIM card (I think not)? what did you say?
After flash and reflash and because I use TG01 for professional use....
Pherhaps I quit!!
Thanks to everyone!!!

I told you!
The problem consist in the equipment carrier use! Vodafone use Ericsson devices and Orange use Alcatel stuff, but other carrier could use other equipment and from here comes the errors.
I don't think that the error comes from your SIM card !
I think the error come from the radio in your phone witch is not adequate with the carrier equipment. So my advice is keep looking for another radio! Try 1700!

Your Right Rila, the problem could also be in the TG01.
But my SIM card, in my wife phone or in another phone with 3G could not "enter" in 3G.
(I did not use 3G in my HTC universal, the sound also wasn´t good, but I always think it was for my blue tooth car kit or bad signal reception)
The same with my old Qtek S200(who don´t have 3G only GSM)
The sim had 4 months old.
For future "helps" I try 1600;300 and now 321.
I am waiting news from the operator.
First I must have a SIM that in other phones, work in 3G, after that, let´s test in TG01
I will post the news
(I must admitted I star to get TG01 addicted )
Perhaps I do not quit!!!
Ok!
In my break launch, I go to a store from my carrier!
They did found one problem, in my "service"!
After 30 minutes they call me and ask to reset the device ( they know it was a Windows mobile phone).
After reset, I select hspda settings and I have now 3G.
I put again the Tg on GSM only ( for saving battery).
In +- 10 calls no one has inform me they can not hear me well.
It´s soon too say that the problem it´s SOLVED but it´s looking good
Another think that I noted is that I have 1H55 m with 70% remaining battery.
