I am tired of having two mobile phones in my pocket: my brand new TD2 (private use) and my Nokia 6020 (business use).
So I would like to use my TD2 for private and work.
Does anybody know if there is a working Dual Sim Adapter for the TD2?
I tried one (no clue which brand or version, its marked with YANG - 16 - A) but it doesn't work:
First of all it does not realy fit under the back cover, it's a non-cut version.
It adds a STK menu to the TD2 but I have no clue how to use it.
The first sim works fine, but the second sim is not recognized, and does not work.
A little bump up
Maybe this one fits... I don't know (I need to wait a few more days before I get the diamond ).

EDIT:
I guess that this one will fit:

I am after the same, but the only one clearly advertised as tested and working with TD2 is Simore Platinum.
not allowed to provide link to simore.eu
At 70 euros it's far too expensive to justify at the moment, especially as we still only have their word for it.
Apparently as phones only have one transmitter/receiver it is not possible to receive calls from 2x active Sims. Their workaround is to have an automatic setting where the SIMS auto-switch, so you can get notified of any missed calls, or SMSes. In reality the workaround for dual lines is to auto-divert the calls for the unused sim to the active one, leaving the auto-switch to pick up SMS from the other SIM to a schedule.
OK, I thought I'd give some cheaper versions a go from freeyourmobile.biz
Magicsim Ghost Dual SIM Card (Non-Cut)
Magicsim DIGITAL Dual SIM (Cut)
I've only tried the Ghost and it works fine on O2 Sims, but with some caveats:-
1. The Sim holder folds around the battery, and I can just about get the case to clip on with a bit of a band/gap on one side/edge. For me this is OK because the TD2 slides into my Proporta Aluminium flip-case, so you don't notice.
2. It doesn't seem to support 3G/HSPDA data, I can only get Edge, but this isn't too much of a problem for me, as I only use data to periodically check email.
3. Everytime you switch SIMS it takes around 30 seconds to re-register, and this includes a pop-up that asks me to select a Network Carrier, and wait for a configuration process to complete. This happens every time you switch SIMS, no matter how many times.
4. No instructions for auto-switching, but a google should sort that.
As I'm happy for now, and don't want to start cutting up SIM-cards, I haven't tested the DIGITAL, but I suspect it wil be the same as it's the same manufacturer.
UPDATE 1: I had a replacement/spare battery from ebay, which was slightly thicker, the original HTC stock battery allows the case to clip on with only a very slight gap
UPDATE 2: Definitely works fine 'with' 3G Sims, but no support for 3G/HSPDA Data transfer. As I said, not a big deal for me personally.
UPDATE 3: There is a setting in Connections Setup to disable Auto-Configuration, which removes this annoyance as both my SIMS are O2. Not sure if you'd get away with this from 2x SIMS from different networks
UPDATE 4: Auto-Switching is only 0-9 minutes global switch. The info on the web suggests there is supposed to be an advanced mode that allows more functionality, but might be issue with this phone or OS, as to why this isn't available. STK mode only appears in menu. Still, what I've done is associate this STK program with holding down the 'call' button, so easy to switch SIMS quickly and easily now.

IMHO -
1. Only cut version adaptor will work, as thr s no space fr 2 non cut SIMS
2. No one can gaurantee 100% working adaptor, as it is dependent on how well SIMS r cut n thn avoiding loose connections
3. Circuit of SIMS - Different operators (countries) use diff config fr SIMS n hence difficult to say which SIMS will work n whthr 3g/HSDPA will work fr every SIM
4. Both SIMS numbers cannot be online together, since Radio s designed to receive only signal thru 1 SIM - workarnd can be frwrdng calls frm SIM 2 to SIM 1, while SIM 1 s online and vice versa
5. Concept is 100% workable - i m using Dual SIM Adaptor (costing arnd $3) fr last 1 month n its works like a charm with GPRS, Edge, 3G as well as HSDPA connections

Instead of using a SIM-Adaptor that requires normally the Phone to Power On and Off to switch the SIM-Card, i use on my MDA3 "SIM-Max".
As my holder of two SIM-Cards would not fit into my MDA3 anymore I looked around and found http://www.sim-max.biz/affiliates/1319095.php
For US$ 100.00 you get a SIM-Card Reader AND a Blank SIM-Card. You then can copy your SIM-Cards onto your PC and once you have all your SIM-Cards there you copy them (Up to 12) to the Blank-SIM Card. If you have a Second Phone or Car-GSM-Phone you can also add additional SIM Cards (about US$ 50.00 per Blank SIM) and have all the SIM-Cards again at hand there.
To Switch between the stored SIM-Cards there is a "STK Operator-Menu" that appears in most phones (MDA3/PDA2K/QTEK9090 etc. it does appear!) and gives access to that menu. Some older and unfortunately also some modern Car-GSM-Phones unfortunately not :-( so test before you order to many blank SIM’s
It is recommended to have the same PIN associated with all GSM-Cards you put together.
There is even a Menu, that allows IF NO PIN IS SET to switch automatically i.E. every 10 Minutes from one SIM-Card to the next, so you don't miss SMS's on all Cards without manually switching.
For most cases you do not need this anyway as you most probably want to have sever countries SIM-cards handy in one phone.
i.E. I travel between the US and Switzerland frequently. In the US I have "T-Mobile" and in Switzerland "Swisscom" and Prepaid "Orange".
As my MDA3 has Problems with Bluetooth Dial-Up-Networking for GPRS I have at the same time also a T-Mobile Copy in my SonyEr. P900. I do not need to switch GSM Cards anymore back and forward between the Phones. Just don't have the same SIM Card in two Phones "online" at the same time, that causes confusion in the network and although it show reception in both phones, you most likely will not get any inbound calls and outbound may be restricted.
We do not normally advertise our products on this forum but get many many requests for compatability.
We have managed to succesfully test a budget dual sim that works with the Hesmes (Orange M3100) as well as o2 Exec Vario 2 (HTC 3300) Spv m700 (HTC 3600) mobiles.
We have used a 3g sim and High Speed Data.
We did need to use a sim card cutter to get a clean cut but it worked a treat.
The trick is to ensure that you use the white padding inside the dual sim to apply presure down on the dual sims.
The dual sim displays a program dual sim card which allows you to switch sims.
The solution to unlock this mobile is available on this forum.

can you go into more detail here, basically from a noob's point of view, how does one go about using 2 sims in the hermes? I'm very interested.
This should be moved to the Hermes Accessories forum but I do have a question.
On your site which adapter will fit a Cingular 8525, and will it ever be possible to have a no cut solution for at least one of the SIM's wince one of the SIMs is my company and I would be killed if I cut the company SIM card. I have no problem with cutting my own SIM. Also I see you do not have any dual SIM for 3G SIMs that have the menu select, you only offer the power off/on for 3G, this is a big pain especially on a PDA using WM5 or WM6 it take forever to reboot.
Advanced MENU Twin SIM (V9.6) with SPV M700
Hi, I have just installed the dual SIM adapter to my orange contract SPV M700 and can’t get the menu to display. I have tried the dual SIM in my older SPV and all seems fine
Does the phone need to be SIM/CID unlocked?
Can you help?

Too early to say - I'm hoping Freeyourmobile can advise how he got it working!
The fitting is good, little tight but ok - as soons as I get it working I'll update the post!.
I bet the battery life blows!!
I used the latest dual sim, I think it was version 10 or 11, and my battery was murdered compared to without. I read in another post that this is due to the auto switching function, and that the only dual sim you could use without the battery drain that Pof refers to is a plain, turn it off and reset manually - Dual sim holder.
Which, given a flat battery, is just fine by me...

Any ideas?.
I saw this on the net, but it looks very expensive.

Simore seems the only one working, my old adapater good for qtek 9090 worked only the first day, after it stop working (I try also a hard reset but no luck). I can switch only after a soft reset. But Simore seems to drain a bit the battery (watch here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=364884). Ciao.

Yeah! You nail it, but, something does'nt feel right on this site or am getting paranoid?
like i asked before, will any of the sim adapters, actually keep both sims active at all times or this isnt possible ?
If not, which one of that m99 site will work for polaris?
This isn't possible. Only dual-sim phones can do that because they have two receivers integrated.
I don't know which one will work. I can only say that if you want to use UMTS you have to buy an analogue adapter. Afaik digital adapters can work with an UMTS-Sim but they can't use the UMTS features like HSDPA. So you can use the UMTS-Sim in GSM-Mode only.
Hello,
I have a Black 1 SIMORE v6.0 on my HTC cruise. It's works perfectly in edge and 3G mode.
With Radio ROM original, i have problem with 3G network, the network disconnect after 5 seconds, but after upgrade to the last ROM radio, it's OK.
There is an automatic permute function, like 10 minutes on my edge network, and 5 minutes on 3G network. Work good, it take less than 15 seconds to change , but if you are on call , it's disconnect you and change the network if the 10 or 5 minutes expires.....
But It's OK for me , i swap only to check my voicemail or sms and permute directly to my principal network.
I don't know about battery life but i have only one phone in my pocket and it's the only one solution i found for that
To Greg_o: can you please confirm if you can use HSDPA with the simore adapter? I am thinking to get one as well. Thanks.
HSDPA is activate in my options... I can tell you more in 4 days, my new 3G options ( TV ,visio , internet etc..) will be activate ... but, how i can see that HSDPA is working ? i already have the 3G on the bar level reception.
The easiest way would be to do a speedtest. I would suggest to use the test used in this topic so we can easily compare.
If your speed is high enough -> it could be only HSDPA.
my results without SIMORE :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2082686&postcount=67
I cut my SIM this week and post my result with SIMORE after
I now use a Datopal 6th Generation Dualsim Cut Adapter. It's an analogue one. Things seem to work fine so far. Tried with T-Mobile and HSDPA works (speed was only 440kbit/s, but that's what I got before I used Dualsim also). To be sure I only activated the UMTS frequencies in the settings, so it should really work.
There are only some problems when it comes to show the right distributor of my simcard. I don't have problems, when I use different networks. Only when I use the same network (one sim is directly from the network distributor and one is from a reseller who uses the same network) the display didn't change the provider name. So without a third party tool I'm unable to say which card is active. I used SimDisplay to get rid of this problem, but I'm sure that there are enough alternatives.
Main positive aspect of the dual sim is the low cost of 6$ per unit (including shipping). The card was directly imported from Hongkong, so delivery time was about a week (I paid with credit card).
It really depends on the network and SIM card type.
Here (france) I have an Orange and one SFR USIM cards, I can't do any 3G on it.
In fact, I can log on to the 3G network but when I try to make a call, network is downgraded to GSM.
Video-call don't work (that's the real test for 3G connectivity, calling your video answering machine).
I'm now thinking into buying an analogue dual sim adapter, to prevent any more meddling than a mere switch between the SIM card and the phone.
Anyone know of any dual sim card adapter that works in UK - 3 network?

From what I have seen, once you install the adapter, the phone adds a menu item in the programs section of the HD. From there you can select what card to turn on. You give it a couple of seconds to find reception and then you're good to go.
As far as I know (and I'm just a newbie at it)......
No, you cannot use both cards simultaneously. So, if card 1 is selected to be in use, then the phone will act as if card 2 did not exist. That means you cannot receive calls made to that number or text messages etc. If you then want to call using card 2, you have to switch to it, which then means that card 1 would be totally turned off.

How do you fit the extra card under the back cover of the phone?
I am debating on which adapter to get. I'm scared to mess up my sim card by cutting it. Maybe I'll order the special pliers to cut it - rather than using scissors. No cutting card would be better, but I thought the non cutted adapters would not fit or work with the HD.

As I understand it, you cannot have both sims online at the same time with the HD, because your phone would need two receivers/transmitters for that.
So I seriously doubt that the above claim is true.
There are phones though, like the Samsung D880, that can use two sim cards simultaneously.
I don't see where that link says that both sim cards would be active simultaneously. I believe the auto-switch function just means that you can set a time when the phone should switch to another card. For example if you get off work at 5 pm, it can automatically switch to your personal sim at that time (and switch off your business sim). In the link it even says that the display shows you which number is online. I assume that means both are not online at the same time.
And as K_Hismoom said, you would still need a phone with the capability of having two numbers active simultaneoulsy. Most phones do not have that ability.

However can bouled1 sim card make autoswitch every minute? and select which number to use on outgoing calls manually?
this is the only way I can see that it will work effectively for me:
1. You are offline with each phone no more than 1 minute.
2. I can use my work number to make outgoing calls when I want (thus saving money)
does this make sense?

guys guys, these won't work with touch HD, or any of the windows mobile phones, I believe. if i'm wrong, please correct me, i'd like to learn something new. the reason being, is that in order for these cards to "automatically insert a new menu item" into the menu, the card needs access to the windows API. i doubt these little cards have that much memory on board (or left) to hold these codes for API calls.
they were designed to insert menus into dumbphones, regular phones, because those phones uses java as their "operating system", much simpler and leaner/smaller code.

I think you're wrong, but I am only basing it on the following:
This website a couple of weeks ago said their card worked on the touch hd, but I just checked and they changed it to "still testing it". See here.
This is their list to check compatibility of their various dual-card adapters with your phone. And on this page they say their adapters are indeed compatible with the touch diamond. They even have video showing how it works on the touch diamond. See video here. Tutorial videos of them using their dual sim card adapter on other phones here.
So, it seems that it can indeed be done on these phones.

I just checked the links above in my post. It looks like the Company is now done testing their adapter on the Touch HD and they say it is compatible. A few weeks ago, the page just said "testing in progress".
See this link. Their prices start at 40 Euros and shipping is free to all destinations. They are the only ones that I have seen make a video of their product working on the touch diamond. So, I feel pretty confident, that it will work on the HD. Of course you can buy those adapters as cheap as 6 Euros, but I wouldn't count on those working.
Only can works on 2G platform not on 3G platform and not data support. The video on youtube for htc diamond show that.
Check out this one:

I tried the card you pointing at but it ended up for me with two smaller simcards because you need to cut them.
No joy, when inserted in the device it doesn't recognize.
It was worth a try, pitty it doesn't work.

I have seen a few dual sim card adaptors that sellers are claiming work with the Mini Pro. Has anybody tried them or have any thoughts/advice regarding them?
I don't expect they will be dual standby (both working simultaneously) but I am still interested to do this rather than carrying 2 phones around.

If it worked it would be great. Does anyone know if it works? Maybe booth could work together with some app... I don't know, when it comes to Cellphones I'm a total Noob..
Waiting answers..
I have a double sim (one sim with 2 number) from vodafone, wich is basicaly the same as a dual sim adapter.
It works as it should.. the only bugger is that every time you change the active sim, it forces you to re.login to your google account.

How do you change between the two numbers? Did it cost you extra to get this from Vodafone?
The double sim is a product from vodafone.. About 15euro once for it. You give them your numbers and in 1- 2 days you get the new card.
To change betwen numbers you have several options. Either the sim menu and select the numer you want.. Boot the phone and and use he pin you want.(each number has a pin) or dial 0 or 00 to reboot the sim. The phone asks for the pin

Anyone using these adaptors? I need to order one for my phone.
I have a Vodafone and an O2 sim using an Xperia Mini Pro and want to have both in it at the same time.
Just want to know if it will work on an Xperia Mini Pro which might not be the same as the X10 Mini Pro for compatibility or whatever. Never done this before.
Check out www.magic-sim.com I got one for my Samsung galaxy s2 from them and it's a great little device. There's a compatibility checking function on the website so you could check the mini pro there.
I used it, 3 years ago... You only require a phone with a "sim menu", (the one with your carrier options... And a case big enough to be able to close it with this sim that is a little bit thicker.
The one I tested made disappear your carrier "sim menu", and replaced it with a custom menu that allowed to change the sim... Even allowed to schedule the changes...
The bad thing is the time it takes to obtain signal after making the change ( the same time it takes when you turn on the phone), and that you have to cut your SIMs to be able to insert them...
Now I sow one that did'n require to cut the Sim, but I think that's too big for lots of phones.
The one I have from magic-sim fits really well. Sim switching takes about 4 seconds. It sounds like the technology has improved a lot since you used it.
how it connects, in layers?
so, this adaptor don't make the phone work with the two sim at the same time?

I've seen 3 presentations...
One next to the other, In layers, And in standard sim size, (croping your two sim cards and inserting them inside the other)...
Depending on your device It can or not fit the phone case.

No. For that purchase a chinese or a black berry with 2 3 or 4 sims.
Is there any android with such a feature? It would make grate "spy phones"
