I know, the search button seems tricky, but it does work.
You can also search individual threads and set the search to display posts as results instead of whole threads. Just play around with it for a while and help keeping/making this forum a better place.
Should you have already read the aforementioned thread, I apologise for my redundant post.

Oh, I am running this radio since it came along and have had no issues with it.

Thank you very much for your search tip! I have already read that thread and already searched the forum.

I'm getting much better reception with 1.38 than other Radio ROMs I've used. Just revert back to an older ROM if it's giving you that many problems...

I'm playing with the 2G vs. 3G thing. Cingular seems to disable this menu option vs. other carriers.
Mike

Good to see that you're not offended then.
All I can say is that I have not had any problems with this Radio and I have been heavily switching ROMs for some time running them for a couple of days each.

No Problems, Better Reception
I also upgraded from the same Radio ROM on my 8525 with no problems with the upgrade process, better reception and significantly better battery life.

GPS is not working on xv6800 + dcd 3.0.1

I've gone through the steps as been precisely articulated in the wiki on seting up the dcd 3.0.1 on a verizon. My phone is working now after a few minutes with Verizon tech. But for some strange reason I can't get the GPS to work. I tried using the google maps but it doesn't lock the satelite at all. Is there a specific settings that I must do? Or a special program I need to install? Please help!!! I've searched on the forum and everybody said their not having problems with the 3.0.1. Thanks for the help
I've used wififofum and still got no fix on GPS. What do you think is the problem here? Please some one help!
Just to be clear that you did flash the spring radio...3.35....Try using holux gpsveiwer(they show if you are trying to get satelites) and see if you are actually trying to get a fix

1st - Read TalynOnes EXCELLENT internal gps FAQ Post here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=363431
2nd - If it still doesnt work, try cooking a new rom and reflashing. I dont know why it should be so, but it does work sometimes. I have flashed a cooked rom with exactly the same options and one works with gps and the other doesnt. There is a lot of variability with the titan units when it comes to the operability of the internal gps unit so you might have a dud. But I thought that too at times, but a reflash and a studious look at the post above has made my gps work "almost" perfectly.

Thanks maccaberry,
It worked after reflashing it with 3.04. Although I don't know how to use the voip...I'll be looking on the thread for some more info.
Thanks guys dcd is awesome. Thank you all

So WHICH radio version makes the GPS work best for a VERIZON XV6800?

I have DCD 3.1.2, and I'm running the 3.37 alltel radio. I searched and searched forever, couldnt find it ANYWHERE.
Cliff notes: Which radio version will make the GPS in my verizon XV6800 lock on? I'll even downgrade to dcd 3.0.4 if I have to, if no radio update would help.

I know you're new to the community...and I know there are plenty out there who are just joining...but a little advice...
PLEASE read and search through all the threads before creating random threads. Not only does this flood the forums with 1 pager threads that are useless (your questions are answered already in other threads), it also pushes the more important threads down, making them hard to find.
Read the Titan Internal GPS thread, read the wiki, and there's plenty of other threads pertaining to GPS on Verizon such as this one..

Upgrade to 3.39.10
Thanks for the reply.
I've already read and posted in that thread, I even read the wiki and the rom/radio matchup list. The thing is, when most people who post that they managed to get their GPS working, they only say what they used and not how they did it or what the roms were for. Everyone who got their GPS working had either a sprint phone, or a verizon phone with the DCD 3.0.4 rom installed.
Cliff: Will 3.39 work for SURE? Was it known that the 3.37.20 caused the GPS to lock up?
Alright well I'll clear something up for everyone...
The OS rom has NOTHING to do with whether or not GPS works.
GPS on carriers other than Sprint will be inconsistent due to lack of aGPS, and no rom or radio will fix that unless an official GPS software update gets released by the carrier.
I have Verizon and my GPS works consistently, but not perfect. I have applied the fix that I have been testing, though it still worked OK before the fix, just not as good.
My advice to everyone, upgrade to the LATEST rom and radio.

Alltel Touch Pro 2.01.671.1 ROM update

It's on HTC's website, dated July 7th. I haven't seen any other threads on it, and I wanted to see if anyone else has tried it. I've updated to it myself, and it seems to be an overall improvement over the version I had. There's really nothing much in the notes, though it seems they tweaked quite a bit. Most notably, it's done wonders for my battery life. I used to always come home with a phone that was nearly dead. Now I get home with 60-70% still left on the battery. It could be my imagination, but the phone seems a bit more responsive now as well. If the battery life is anything to go by, it could just be from general optimization of the ROM. Other points of interest... the activesync app is no longer self-launching, and Opera Mobile appears to have had an update as well.

im in the process of doing it know, ill let ya know what i think in a bit
I tried it when it 1st came out, its definitely better than the shipped rom, but its still got all of the bloatware and other b.s. that interferes with performance. IMO, you're still better off with a cooked rom.
ya i honestly cant tell a different between stock rom and this update
Oh yeah, I'm sure a cooked rom is faster. Just thought I'd put the PSA out there. It does seem to address a few issues for my launch version of the ROM.
one of these day ill get around to putting a custom rom on my phone.
thiers just to many and i cant figure out which one i want
stock
if i have already unlocked my phone and running a custom rom and want to flash to this stock rom do i need to do anything different?
No, just flash as you normally do. Every couple of flashes I go back to the stock rom anyway. Probably just the "placebo" effect, but I've convinced myself it helps.
Do it for the Radio

Notation to everyone here this ROM includes an updated radio. 1.12.20F. So that it's self should be worth it. I run NFS rom but I am going to update to this so I can grab the updated radio. I will then jump to his. My radio is currently 1.03.16F. It also has the later PRL and PRI.
I see the in the Radio Thread in this forum that they have the alltel readio without the whole ROM. So if you want go that route. I have just found that doing a stock flash every once in awhile keeps my custom flashing less problematic.
im still having problems as far as radio signal.........and the only reason i don't just upgraded the radio is their is no alltel dump yet
I also get great battery life after the update.

Go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=531134
and look on the first post. In it it says how to check my signal. That will show you what you need. Lower is better for all 3 numbers it shows in the post to look at.

typing this didn't do anything...all i got was call cant be completed as dialed
One very nice discovery I made today (because of how little I actually talk on my TP) is that they've changed the call answer screen a bit. Seems they took a page from Apple's book and changed the answer and ignore buttons into a slider. You slide it all the way left to answer, and right to ignore. Should fix the accidental answer problem I know a lot of people (including myself) have had.
Will this work on Verizon TP? I know i will have to apply keyboard patch but would it work?
Radio should work no problem, especially since alltel and verizon are 1 now.
I dispise Verizon ROM. No YouTube, No Internet Sharing etc... Got it as a insurance replacement when my Alltel TP broke. They said they don't have Alltel TPs anymore.
Please give me the good news... PLEEEAAASE
PS: I already have GPS unlocked using MR1 release from Verizon.

I wouldn't attempt it if I were you. Have you considered trying a custom rom? If you've never done it I could help you through the process. Stock roms SUCK!
Can i ask you if it works in a touch pro un-locked of the vodafone Italy company?
I have an alltel touch pro but my area switched to verizon now, im assuming this won't be a problem because i didn't need to do any update when they switched so im guessing the radio won't be an issue? Really want to do this if it increases battery.
Also will this remove any settings or themes that kind of stuff?
edit nevermind i see it removes everything.
if i take my memory card out before i update can will all the programs that are one it reinstall? and when i put all my backed up data back on the device do the programs reinstall or do i have to do something to reinstall them?

HD2 Radio's?

TBF i have a touch diamond in my desk that has been heavily modified and with the diamond it is very much the case of there are 2 really good radios and the rest suck.
With the Leo on the other hand, it is very area and provider specific although most people tend use 2.10.50.18_2 or 2.11.50.20. There are some people using 2.12.50.2_2. I have tried that one and had some major issues with it so i'm sticking with 2.11.50.20 for now.
That should give you a starting block though. There is a radio thread somewhere so i would go check that out.
As has been said...it depends. Figure out where you spend the most time using the phone, and try different radios to see how they perform at that location or locations. A radio that works well at one location could be horrible in another. A different radio may work well in both locations.

The best Radio out there for the HD2 is Leo_RADIO_2.12.50.02_2

just to prove the point, i find the 2.12.50 radio unusable, dropped calls, calls going straight to voicemail.... terrible.
@op,, as said above, you just gotta try them, see what works for you.

New Radio?

Ok, so I have searched and read thru the current radio treads. But havent seen much on 2.41.04.02.02, which i currently have. But my signal is not to great in Brooklyn. Should I try to flash to a different radio, and if so which one? Can you go down, or only flash up? Thx
Radio Search
It was about 3 pages back in the thread July Radio?, This is the radio from the Verizon 2.1 OTA update back in July. I can't attest to how well it will work but since it is the most recent radio that Verizon has issued I would assume it should be good 2 go.

Appearances are that you can use any radio version with any ROM (on the Eris, at least). I've mixed-n-matched all sorts of combinations, with no apparent (i.e., readily-observed) troubles.
IMO, it is somewhat unlikely that you will see any difference in signal strength. The radio firmware codes are pretty mature, and the minor revisions in their behavior are things which are probably only detectable by the carrier. (There is not a shred of credible evidence of people observing "beter signal" as a result of radio firmware upgrades on the Eris.)
