HI Everyone,
Ive tried a leather case - didint like it as you have to flip open flaps to access it and makes phone calls akward.
Ive tried an alloy case - you have to open it to use it and use the keyboard
Silicon Case - bad experience using these because I used one on my old Nokia N73 and it still dented the housing when it was dropped.
Now, does anyone know where to get a crystal clear plastic hard case that has 2 parts, one to cover the front and one to cover the back whicl still getting access to the screen. I know the screen wont be protected but a screen protector will do the job of preventing scratches. Also, a swivel belt clip screw mount on the back will be nice too,
I know there are some for the Wizard, but I havent seen any for the Hermes yet. This case will be ideal as you get all the access to the device and you dont hide the beauty of it behind leather and alloy like in other cases.
Any help will be appreciated

Don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but I just had a look on eBay and there aren't any listed there. I would have thought that if anybody was manufacturing such a case that they would be available on FleaBay.
I posted an almost identical post requiring the same thing not so long ago- no repsonses as of yet!
These are widely available for many other 'slider' phones but not yet for our one.
Ive sent two request to Boxwave. Their response is need more request.
I have been looking for a Crystal Case before I even got my 8525. I love this type of case. Sadly though it doesn't exist yet.
If you guys gohere and request an Active Case maybe we will have one soon. Note you must select Active Case because the web page loads with a check mark next to the ClearTouch Anti-Glare and that's not the same.
yep, i put in a request.
this type of case will be ideal as it will show the sleek lines of the tytn/jasjam, protect it, and allow keyboard access without unclipping anything.
what could be simpler....?
i think the best bet is going to be check with boxwave to see when they get it, i personally did not like the crystal clear on my 8125 it just felt wrong i gave it to one of my coworkers

What felt so wrong about it?
I ordered this case a while back, and I absolutely love it.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Clear-Hard-Skin...wItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item45eeeac5fa
The one I ordered was a little cheaper, and didn't include the lcd protection, but the case is the same. Anyway, I think I paid around 8 bucks or so. I did have the body glove case, drilled a hole for the proximity sensor, but after a while, the case started to catch on the clear plastic sticker on the back of the lcd screen. It also started to catch on the side stickers beside the keyboard. This new case fits extremely well, and has yet to catch on anything. The only grip I have is that it is a little slick, but not enough to deter me. Just thought I'd share.
i got the exact same one man. love it

Yeah, it fits perfectly, plus it looks a lot nicer too. Every time I pull it out, everyone always asks me, "Whoa, what phone is that?" I hated having to wear that belt clip for it. Now, I can leave it in my pocket without the side bag on my belt.
Could you post some pics of the phone inside the case plz?

Yeah, no problem. My phone is really dirty, but I was in a hurry. Looks really nice I think. I get all kinds of compliments from it.
will this def not fit an at&t tilt 2??
Thanks for posting the pics! I agree, it does look good. I'm gonna order one now
Here's a link for a "clear enough"(actual color listed as Smoke Transparent) hard case for Sprint/TMobile TP2s
My first post to these forums, I don't have a TP2....yet, but I'll pull the trigger as soon as I've finished researching a few more things. All the information seems to be here, I just need to read through it all.

If they are different sizes, I doubt it would fit, but I'm not sure. I did however find a couple on ebay for the tilt 2. I'm sure you can find some more out there.

I want a micro sd slot like that
i got the clear one and the brown rubber case...both fit great.
Hi, this is my first thread so far I've been doing a lot of research about my phone, figured it was a good deal, and purchased the Tmobile version. I've been looking for a case even before I bought it, but it seems there isn't a perfect case out there simply because of the sliding keyboard. Well I was just using my TP2 about an hour ago and as I was using the stylus to scroll down in opera, I heard "SCRAPE!" ...my ears said "WTF!?!?! NO!!!!" and i quickly realized what had just happened. Never thought it was possible but whatever. Anyways, I've had the phone for 6 days or so and I plan to exchange it tomorrow.
This has definitely motivated me to find a case and screen protector and end the headache. So I've came up with the following from reading some threads the past hour, but I want to be sure before I order. So far I have this case
http://cgi.ebay.com/Clear-Hard-Skin...wItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item45ef91bf67
and these screen protector (boxwave Crystal or Anti-glare)
Crystal

Anti-glare
http://www.boxwave.com/products/cleartouch/cleartouch-screen-protector-t-mobile-touch-pro2_3668.htm
I'm still searching as I don't want to purchase something and regret it, but let me know what you guys think. I've heard good things about the plastic case, but overall I'm looking for quality, but no more than $45 for case. Much appreciated
EDIT: DID NOT KNOW THERE WAS A SCREEN PROTECTOR IN THE BOX

It was 2000 the first time I experienced that. It was a palm m500 and a little piece of dust got on the tip of my stylus. I didn't hear it so much as I felt the friction, but my reaction was much the same. I haven't gone without a screen protector since.
As to the included screen protector, use it if it works for you, but you'll typically find better durability in popular protectors like the boxwaves you linked to or clarivues. The clarivue that I put on my Palm TX in 2005 is still on it, and still looks good.
The thing I worry about with a lot of those no name brand cases on ebay is how well do they really fit? The last thing you want is to have them falling off. I don't know if my fear is well-founded or not, but I didn't really want to gamble on it. But as far as TMo goes, I'm not sure what to tell you. Boxwave actually has a pretty cool soft case called the praetorian crystal slip, but not for the TMo version. Seidio seems like a nice quality joint, but they don't seem to make their innocase for the TMo version either.
Edit: I suppose you could check this thread out.
I had the acrylic case with screen protector and I removed it shortly after purchasing. The porblem I had is that the screen protector is superficial and although it works sometimes when I typed certain virtual keys another part of the screen protector would also bend down on my press and caused for a different near by character to be pressed. Eventually I got rid of it and just purchased a seperate screen protector.
I really am looking for quality though for a case, just want something that's not too big or will not hinder usage of the phone. I've heard a lot about the ghost armoring and all. I'm considering it, but that will not save a phone from a fall or anything like that.
Consider an all-body protector (such as zagg or bodyguardz), combined with a pouch or holster case that you remove the device from to use it.
This is my preferred method, so my TP2 is well protected when it's not in use, and I'm completely unhindered when I am using it (but still with scratch protection).
Note that the protectors need to be applied very slowly and carefully to make sure they're lined up well and properly stuck down around the edges.

I have the same clear hard plastic case and absolutely love it. I've tried the body glove case, and had some issues with sliding the keyboard in and out. I just use the screen protector that came with the phone, and the clear hard plastic case. No problems at all, though I still have to take the case off every once in a while to clean it, but you'd have to do that with any case really. Get a lot of compliments on it.

It really doesn't add much bulk at all. I did have the body glove case, and it definitely added a lot of bulk. I keep my phone in my pocket now, but it's def worth the buy.

So it fits alright eh? The bodyglove one didn't seem to snap on correctly, and all the other ones I've seen fit so tight that it tends to seperate the screen portion from the keyboard portion...no issues with fitment for the tmobile version? Can you post a picture of how it looks with the clear case?
I just ordered some phantom skinz, I'll report back when they get here.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=578050&highlight=clear+hard+case
I was searching around and could not find a gel/TPU type clear case for the G1...for those of you who do not know...here is one example of a Nexus One case like what I would want:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Soft-Case-TPU...t=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item746a91e417
I know they do not show a completely clear one, but that is the material/type of case I would like. It is not like a typical silicone case -it is slightly like a hard case being that it does not bend as easily and it is not floppy at all.
Any ideas?
Heres the problem that I see...
How would you open the keyboard with that cover overlapping the front of the phone? That would probably be the reason those style covers don't exist for the G1.
As my fellow Oregonian said.. Soft cases and a slide keyboard won't really work.. If you look at the hard shells you'll see how the screen has it's own little part that clips on.. soft shells wrap instead of clip on...
I fail to see why they could not have a separate piece to put on the screen...?
If there is no such case... then could someone recommend a thin, yet tough, hard case? (preferably clear)
soft cases can't clip onto the screen part that has to slide up...
but here's something i found with decent reviews for the other colors.. clear hasn't been rated yet

yea that case is rocking . I as well was looking for something like this! Thanks!! hey erebusting did you order it? did ya like it?
I ordered the clear one, and it came in yellowish like it was old or like someone was smoking around it or something.... the seller gave me a refund because he said they had no more, but I think that all the clear ones were just as yellow ? who knows....
also when you hold the phone in portrait mode on the top right and left corners of the keyboard section the case left a small gap on each side maybe about 1-2 millimeters as if it was slipping off...
Other than all that I liked it, but would not use it because it makes my phone look yellow / ugly... if I had a case like that with these flaws fixed then I would use it.

Can you post some pictures? And would you recommend it? I am looking for a new case for my phone, and this one is one that I am considering
I had this case. I had a screen protector on, and the extra height of the screen protector made the screen portion of the case slip off. If you don't use a screen protector, it might work for you. I bought a Seidio case and never looked back. Super thin, rugged plastic. Comes in black so it blends into the phone.

zinite, I understand that, but see I do also have a screen protector on but the section of the case which goes on the screen is fitting fine, the section for the body is the part I have the complaint about. I will definately check out some Seidio cases now that you have mentioned that.
SolemnWishing, Here are some pictures of the case next to a clear hard case (which is actually clear and not yellow...)
Ace42, glad you got a laugh! haha...BTW I am wondering why you were laughing though, kind of odd to me ATM...
WOW! that case is really yellow. i was thinking about getting one thinking it wont be that yellow. but that is definitely gross smoker yellow
Dang... it looks like someone left that out in the sun for like a year or something..
Guess you know what happens to these cases when you have em for awhile... I've long given up on G1 cases: with a simple screen protector you should be on your way. I love the feel of the back of the G1, and a case would only screw that up.

Any ways... Those pictures are from the same day of receiving that case, so it must be some fault on the seller....
its really a disappointment since there are no other cases (that I can find that is) like that for the G1...
any other recommendations/ideas?
Ok so on the tilt 2 it has a strap/charm hole to put well a strap or charm on ur phone, and i used it alot! But recently the little plastic piece in the hole that holds the charm/strap snapped off on mine, Does anyone have any good suggestions on what I could do, I'm rather clumsy so a strap is rather needed
Where on your Tilt2 do you have such a hole? Mine does not.

Its called a hanger hole, its in the manual
http://www.htc.com/us/support/tilt-2-att/tech-specs/
No my plastic cover never came off
Anyone got and idea of how to fix it?
Looks like the holder is part of the phone frame. If the little T-shaped tab broke off, you may be SOL on fixing it. Perhaps you could buy a broken Tilt 2 off eBay (I've seen them) and transfer the part, but taking a phone apart and putting it back together correctly is not an easy task.
I never would have guessed that hole was for a strap or charm, although that's quite apparently what its for. The T-shaped tab under the battery covers sure doesn't look strong enough for the purpose.

I never, ever would have guessed that that hole was for hanging the little charms off of. I once wondered why this phone didn't come with something like that when most phones did.

Oh please do
I use a strap for mine. It works wonderfully!
Wow that's great. Does anybody know where to find a strap that would be good to wear my Tilt2 around my neck please? It would be great for working while wearing a wired headset. Hate keeping it in my pocket and I'm not happy with any of the holsters. Especially that oem one. That sucker will help a guy lose his phone in a hurry...
EDIT; Nevermind. I figured out to search for the words phone and lanyard on ebay. Decisions, desisions.
Memory card lanyards work fine too. I'm using a lanyard for a SanDisk MicroSD adapter for my phone. It works great.
Whoa, that little plastic bit holding the weight of a Tilt 2 on a lanyard or wrist strap? Sounds like tempting fate to me. I never have used a wrist strap on a phone and this definitely doesn't inspire me to try it now, lol. HTC should have built something a little more substantial than that into the frame if they wanted it to be really useful as a hanging point for the phone. I have been wondering where the strap on the HTC accessory page was supposed to attach, now I know.

You are correct. It does look cheesy. However, so far so good. I do think it is important to be certain that the string of the lanyard is seated to the base of the "T" opening really well. Fortunately that is easy to pull off. Also I don't think I'd swing it around by the lanyard with the cover off. After a few weeks of using a wrist strap and a neck lanyard I don't see any signs of stress on the plastic. So maybe it will hold out.
