I've upgraded my cingular 8525 from ROM 1.34.502.1 to 2.15.502.3. The new ROM doesn't have a wireless modem and I want to go back to my previous ROM. I've tried downgrading it the same way I upgraded using the RUU_HER_Cingular_1.34.502.1_1.16.00.00_wwe_cws_ship.exe but when I try to downgrade it. It was able to check the ROM on my 8525, but couldn't downgrade. Is there a step I'm missing?
Yes, you are missing the step where you actually read before posting. It's a very important step, and if some of our other members were to see this, their responses would be much harsher.

I have installed HardSPL, and my radio version is 1.06.00.10
Just wondering if I upgrade to 1.47 let's say... will I be able to downgrade it back to the previous version? and by what? CustomRUU?
Any help is appreciated.

I'm not going to flame you...... however you do need to do some reading.....the answers are in the "wiki" & various posts in the forums...... use the search tool.
Also MrVanx has written guides which tell you how to "return your device" to it's original condition for "warranty purposes"....... those are BIG HINTS....

sorry but I couldn't find a guide for downgrading radio, it just has guide to downgrade OS and bootloader only...

Try downgrading your radio right now.. If it downgrades succesfully, then you'll know that you can downgrade your Radio after you've installed 1.47
And if it doesn't you'll know that you are stuck on 1.47 if you upgrade, unless there's a downgrade tool or some CustomRUU.. Don't wait for days for an answer, just do 5 min.'s of work.

But I'm afraid that 1.47 may not be as good as 1.06.00.10

Hey guys. I just bought a Hermes, switching from a Wizard. I just wanted to make sure i've got the facts straight. So to upgrade the ROM on my Hermes (which is currently a stock At&t WM5 8525 ROM) i need to first CID/Sim-Unlock the phone, flash a hardspl to it, and then i can flash any wm6 rom i want that is posted in the WM6 forum for the Hermes? Thanks, and sorry again for the post. One of the guides said if i was unsure about anything, i should ask.

I have a quick question, I didn't see it anywhere so thought I'd ask:
I'm going to be buying a locked 8525 and I want unlock it so I can use with T-Mobile and I want to upgrade the ROM to one of the many ROMs available here.
My question is: is there a particular order this must be done? Can I upgrade the ROM then unlock? Do I have to unlock, then do ROM? Or will upgrading the ROM unlock for me?
Just wanted to check if there one's a certain way, or if anyone else was in a similar situation.

Be a good idea after unlocking to check your SPL again because I'm pretty sure you downgrade it to SPL 1.40. This culd problems if you then try to refash thinking you've got Hard SPL ver 7 (SPL : 2.10 Olipro) installed. Cheers..

Do a search for TitanRelocker.
To relock your Titan you will not be returning it to 1.07, rather 1.06 with the common Titan Relocker. Though I do not know if No2Chem's SDcard flashing nueSPL-relocker returns another SPL.

I know this has been answered probably but I got confused as most of the posts talk about 7500 or 7510 and SPL 1.2 or something higher.
I have a HTC x7501 with SPL v1.10.0000 and the IPL is v1.00. My radio version is 1.47.51.00 and ROM version is 2.19.453.4. The OS installed is Windows Mobile 6 Professional.
My question is can I upgrade to AP4 rom? Do I have to unlock my device first? It does accept different SIMs now. Is there a step by step instruction to do the AP4 rom upgrade specific to my model?

Also the link for the Olipro video does not work. Is there another link for this? Am I correct to assume that the unlocking/upgrading is similar for both x7500 and x7501? As the tutorial is for x7500.
I will appreciate any help in this regard.

Hello and welcome to the forum,
Good advce from Rory there and also I have given this advice lots of times before and to you no different. please go HERE and read and learn, if you TAKE YOUR TIME AND READ you will learn. Please Please Please do not try to run before you can walk, or your Athena will be Bricked. I have been flashing ROM's for years now and still make the occasional mistake through rushing in to fast. AP 4.0 is a very good ROM but there are better ROM's now in my opinion. When you are READY try one of Michy's ROMs on spl 1.2.
