Flash radio? - G4

I'm using "Shelltool" to install these ROMs.. For the radio, do I just use the same method? By copying the nk.nbf file into the "Shelltool" directory...? Thanks!

I don't think so but i could be wrong, shelltool is for os only.

So how do I install the radio using Vista...?

is there any way to flash the radio with a G4 locked?
many thanks

Yes... you can just flash a radio-only rom on a CID-locked device. You can't flash with vista!

but how do you go about flashing it? just use the program included with the radio rom just like a g3?
thanks

Yes.... just flash with the RUU. Make sure it's a radio-only rom. If you get error 300, look at this thread:

ok i got it, here you can have all to flash it

how to go back to wm5 if radio rom is high

I am using radio rom 1.35.00.11 and WM6 (xda live 0.2)
now if I want to go back to my original rom, what must I do ?
I assume this radio rom will not permit me to install original rom.
then how can I decrease my radio rom to 1.04 to allow install of original rom.
thanks for your replies.

I am downloading that ROM now. I will post the radio only exe 1.07.03.10 when it is done on the Wiki and here. I am still confused as to what that OP is doing, I think he is confused too
Here is the Radio Only from that ROM. http://rapidshare.com/files/20253696/RUU_Radio_Only_1.07.03.10.exe
I think you guys are mistaking what he wants. He wants to go to a lower ROM version, and he thinks to do so he has to put a lower Radio ROM on - this is not the case.
Using SSPL you can flash just the ROM without the radio, or should you wish, an entire shipped ROM including a radio. You do not need to downgrade your radio to do a ROM change!
wpbear, wow that was fast. can you make a radio only from for 1.20.32 ? thanks

thank you. you are so kind and helpful.
I guess this is rally what I need.
If I install this I will have radio 1.07.03.10 and that will let me install my original OS rom 1.20. correct ?
Btw, KevinBaker says something else.
I think that SSPL method could help me also.
But I don't know how to use SSPL. I mean how can I install a shipped rom with SSPL ?
You're getting your ROM's mixed up!
Your phone contains 3 major software parts - the bootloader, the ROM, and the Radio ROM. You're thinking of the bootloader downgrade, which with SSPL you don't need to do any more.
ROM is the Windows/settings etc, Radio ROM is simply the bit that makes the calls/data connections!
You don't need to downgrade your radio ROM to do this!
First of all download the custom RUU updater - ftp://xda:[email protected]/Hermes/Tools_and_Programs/ModifiedRUUUpdater-V2.rar
Then download whichever shipped ROM you want to flash, and extract the files from it. You'll see a file with the extension .nbh - copy this file into the directory that you extracted the modified RUU updater to, and run ROMUpgradeUt.exe from the modifed updater directory. This will push SSPL onto the phone, and update the shipped rom (which will also change your radio ROM automatically). You can then flash a RADIO ONLY update from the Wiki so that you can enjoy a higher Radio ROM version, with your original ROM.

wpbear,
Not sure if I can make a request here like this, but can you make a custom package of wm6 0.20 rom , with 1.35 trinity radio and the cingular aku 3.3 Ext Rom(with min apps) for me? Really appreciate it - I am not sure how this RUU updater works.
Oh come on, its not that bloody hard to do it yourself - just READ THE WIKI.
Its as simple as this:
- Download XDA Live 0.20.x, flash
- Download 1.35.00.11 Radio ROM, flash
- Download the Ext Rom, install what you need from it.
The information is all here - why not research it yourself, you'll learn a bit and be much more proud of your device as you've done it yourself, rather than just getting someone else to do the hard (well, not so hard) work.
OK..I will try(fingers crossed). Under bootloader mode, my screen shows IPL 1.01 and SPL 1.09 - what should I look out for when I am flashing as your suggested?
If you read the instructions and did some research you'd know that you don't have to worry about your bootloader, as XDA Live and 1.35.00.11 Radio both use the modified RUU updater which pushes SSPL to the phone, so it doesn't matter what bootloader you're using.

[Q] Problem with ROM

Hello Dear friends,
I have really big problem with this ROM version:3.14.405.2(04666) WWE. It uses 89% of the processor and I cant use any appz that I want because of this. I have problems with the Internet Browser. This problem really makes me unhappy. Is there a way that we can "fix" this. If there isn't I'll have to change from WM to Android.

1. no CWM does not back up the radio which leads to question 2
2. you dont use CWM to flash radios. You need to name your radio PG05IMG.zip and put it on the root of your SD card then boot into the bootloader ( i think it is either volume up or volume down + the power button) and flash there.
ahhh, ok, I see that now!
Last question: If I install the newest gingerbread radio, will I be able to install an older one without a hitch?

Yup pm freeza he's a cool dev and he'll definitely give you the info your looking for. He makes the zips your referring to quite often.

If you open the RUU you can find a Rom.zip file in the temp folder of your computer, copy that to your desktop and extract the system and boot images. You can then flash both of those from fastboot

No, this is encrypted rom zip. You can flash it via fastboot (fastboot oem rebootRUU, fastboot flash zip name_of_zip.zip), or wait for developer to put it into a custom ROM for you. I suggest you wait for custom ROMs to be posted based on this released. Otherwise you might as well just run the RUU executable file which can be downloaded direct from HTC.
