Hi,
I have looked everywhere but can't seem to find the answer.
Basically I have just bought a Vodaphone VPA Compact III v1605 but want to change the ROM to one from O2. My O2 sim works fine in it, but I just want to get rid of everything Vodaphone, flash screens etc.
I did it before on my XDA Mini s but O2 provided roms for that and they don't for the Hermes.
Thanks,
Aaron

I see many posts on what to do when this error occurs, and I see that there is a tool (EREdit) around this, but I'm confused as to what "country" specifically means in the context it is used. Of particular interest to me is the new 1.72 Beta ROM.
1. Is it really country, as in USA, UK, France, etc., or is this only in reference to device brand (T-Mobile MDA II, O2XDA II, Orange XDA II, iMate, Qtek)?
2. In other words, If I have an MDA II, with T-Mobile 1.60.36 ROM, would the new 1.72 ROM consider that the same country?
3. Or since I see this has a UK reference, and my ROM came actually from the Netherlands site, does this mean that I will get into the country (from Dutch to UK)?
I hope I have not asked the ridiculous. I just don't know specifically what the "country" means.

gratefuled,
I don't know exactly, to answer your questionabout the country code - but
I have an O2, XDA11, and have just updated to 1.72 TMobile ROM.
I used the current ROM Editor and selected CDL for the operator. The other options, incl. O2 gave me a Country Code error.
That was last night, and now 24 hours later, the XDA2 is still working OK.
Seems a little faster, and easier on the battery.

My point regarding the country code stuff is this.
If one is flashing a ROM from the same carrier, say from T-Mobile to T-Mobile, does this eliminate any country code error problems? My point is is the term "country", actually mean carrier, (T-Mobile, O2, iMate, Qtek, etc.)?
In other words does the country error only occur when one is switching from , say O2 to a T-Mobile ROM?

Hi,
Looking for advice on what Dual/Twin SIM Adapter actually works with an Windows Mobile 5 MDA Vario. The Vario is unlocked and I would like to be aboe to use both my Vodaphone and T-Mobile SIMs in the phone.
Can anyone link me to an adapter that actually works with the above or give me some further advice.

Hi,
is there a workaround for using the Vario II with
different providers?
Cheers
As far as I know, t-mobile has been selling it unlocked, at least until now. Are u sure it is netlocked? If it is, the M3100 unlocker from imei-check should work with t-mob vario II too. There is no free solution at the moment

i've tried the imei solution on my Vario II - didn't work due to some sort of odd configuration on t-mobile units! they are working on a solution.
I will cut it short, i bought an HTC sensation in hong kong (sim free) and put my sim (SK Telecom Korea) in in hong kong, it worked fine, came back to korea to find i can get no signal, and when i try, it says i can not connect to my own network.
so i figure its either the radio or the rom.
no replies from HTC after 20 emails i gave up.
I found the ruu for SKT, but i want to be able to go back to my unbranded rom/radio if i can.
I am a noob to HTC although i have a desire already.
Can any of you fine gentlemen help ?
I have just bought my mates SGS2 which has got which is on vodafone, i got home and tried my O2 sim in it and it works
The question is, is the phone unlocked or is does O2 sim cards work in vodafone SGS2's?
Cheers guys
mmm...i think it is unlocked! the second opinion seems so strange...
O2 is not Vodafone network so its unlocked .

Cheers for the time to help me
Unless he unlocked it himself its highly likely that he got the phone from phones4u or a shop similar, these are GSM phones unlocked to any network, at least that's what mine is
