I have upraded my Vario2 to the following settings:
IPL-1.04, SPL-2.10.Olipro,
with Radio V-1.41.00.10 and WM6 pro Black 3.0.1 ROM .
The upgrading went perfect with no problems.
The device boot properly.
The only problem is that the data connection stays on GPRS where I know there is a 3G connect.
T-Mobile support dont want to help solving this problem.
Any Idea anyone?

Well it is not the case in holland, TMobile has 3G and UMTS.
Any way I had 3G before I upgraded the device.
Have you tried putting your Radio Rom back to 1.40 just to see if that makes a difference?

I take it you had 3G before you upgraded? I would point the fault at the operator settings have you reinstalled these since the upgrade? You will need to search on xda for the operator settings there are cab files for them.
Have you tried flashing black 3.0.1 again? I know this sounds weird but I had the same problem at first, when I reflashed it, I had 3G again
Cheers

1) Yes I had a 3G before and I lost it after the upgrade process.
2) I followd the instruction in T-Mobile site about the requested configuration.
3) I will look for the cab files you mentioned about the operetor setting.
What would be a good test? to change my Radio or my ROM version?
And to what version?
Regards.

Here is the cab file you require below. Have you checked with t-mobile that the service is ok where you are? If this is not the problem, I would first try a soft reset, if no improvement try a hard reset. Failing that try downgrading your radio to 1.40 as I found this radio version better than 1.41. (remember to soft reset after, and remember the radio upgrade/downgrade will not cause you to lose anything you have saved on your device). If this does not work then try reinstalling the black rom.
But I would bet it is the operator settings.
Close, but no cigar......

The Dutch settings for T-Mobile (not the UK ones, @boz ) can be found >HERE< - this is by far the easiest thing to try before you get stuck in with downgrading radio versions or reflashing the ROM....well, IMHO it is

NO. You just need to install the ExtROM cab file which installs the video call function. Don't ask me which one is it because I don't know out of memory, as pointed by walshieau check the wiki and see yourself (but you don't need to hardreset).
Did it!...and it works !!!!

Hello Pof. Actually I already asked my predicament with no video call in the Kaiser forum. However, i didnt get any favorable response. But after seeing the posts here I was thinking if the ExtROM cab for Hermes will work with my AT&T Tilt so that I can use the video call option. I already installed the HTC Rom in my Tilt (with your HardSPL) so that it will have the video call option in the dialer. I was able to have a connected 3G/video call from the other line using a nokia e90. However, my Tilt could not send/receive video image to/from the other line despite being connected. Is there an ExtROM file for the Tilt? Thank you in advance.
I am having problem with the internet after flashing the new rom. I've tried resetting the profile, client IOTA (No response), hard reset, soft reset, reflashed and to no avail. Please advise.
did u let sprint install all the customized software after 1st flash?

I flashed the new Sprint ROM. I then did the ##728# stuff and changed to Rev. A. I let the Sprint Customizations Run as it booted the first time. I I took a drive and tested the GPS. It worked great. I also tried the Rev. A. I could see no difference in performance. Latency seemed down.
Then I used the "Clear Storage" program under Settings/System. While it was rebooting, I soft reset as soon as the Sprint Customizations began loading. I didn't want the bloatware installed.
Evidently I cleared the IOTA. It would be great if someone could post that cab here so we could try. The device did seem to work without the Sprint stuff loaded. Latency was poor.
Upgraded Rom on Sprint Touch Pro No Signal
Any help would be appreciated after upgrading the ROM on my Touch Pro i no longer have any signal i then proceeded to flash back to the stock rom and still no signal i used the proper unlocker upgraded the ROM and Radio it worked the first time with the exception of the PCS data services i kept getting an error 66 I called Sprint Tech support and they had me do a ##786# now i have no signal
Anyone any ideas ?
Thank you
##786# is the "Return to Mfgr Default" settings. Basically, after you've done all this, you might want to check to see if the radio was installed correctly on the phone. Otherwise, I'd try and reflash back to a stock Sprint ROM. Also, check to see if the phone is programmed. If not, go to Start>Settings>Connections Tab>Update Profile. That'll initiate OMA programming over the sprint network.
I tried installing the another radio i cant initiate over the air updates as I have no signal whatsoever the phone operates fine otherwise do you think its a radio problem what would you recommend

You guys flashing in bootloader mode? Are you hard resetting after the flash? You of course have the correct hspl installed first? Is this the first rom flash you've tried or have you done others without incident? Have you tried the latest sprint radio 1.12xx. I found this to give me the best rf yet. Currently running psyki rom, but have tried all with no issues. Can you sync with your computer ok. If so do you have another rom you can reflash to? I always have a few saved for a reflash if the new flash goes south on me.
Hi all,
I am new to android so please forgive me if i am unclear about my question.
I've also digged for answers but came up with nothing.
Anyway I was hoping someone could help me with the new radio 47.63.35.21U_7.16.35.11.
Ever since i've upgraded to 7.16, i've lost the abilities to:
1. connect to mobile network
2. able to detect and lock on to any satellites.
Downgrading to the original radio didn't solve those issues...
I am currently using Gene Poole's Liberated hfr005b and it's awesome! Battery acting like it should.
My satellite problem is very similar to klbmth in this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12477387&postcount=25
and as for my mobile network i've tried changing settings as instructed by lateral18 in this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14117740&postcount=556
i did my hard reset/wipe dalvik/format system before i flashed my aria with hfr005b and the new radio.img...
does anyone have similar problems to my situation??
Thanks in advance!
Do you have an AT&T-branded Aria? If so, I'd suggest running the RUU from here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9D9NGT6J
This will restore your phone back to the factory default (including reverting the radio back to the original state).
You can do this without losing any settings by doing this:
1) Make a Nandroid backup.
2) Run the RUU to revert your phone back to factory defaults and (hopefully) fix the radio problem. Important: Do not use the RUU from HTC's website. If you do you won't be able to root afterward. Use the one in the link above.
3) Make sure everything is working again (mobile connection and GPS).
4) Use Unrevoked again to reinstall Clockwork on the phone.
5) Once you have Clockwork installed, do a Nandroid restore. Nandroid does not back up the radio image so you should be back just like you were except with a working radio image.
Also I'd strongly suggest not installing any radio updates in the future.
Hi drumist!
thanks for the quick reply!!!
yes i do have AT&T branded Aria and i'll definitly try out your suggestion.
i flashed the new radio because it was said to "fast lock to sats" and so on... which seemed nice to have
i had no idea it would have such an effect on my aria (when it is fine with everyone else)...
however i was wondering, if not too much trouble, could you please elaborate why updating radio is not a good idea?

Well, basically it's one of the few risky things you can install on your phone. When you install a ROM, there's basically no risk involved because even if the installation fails, you can just get back into Clockwork and install another one or try again. There's no risk of permanent damage.
Installing a radio image through Clockworkmod, however, is somewhat risky. Ideally nothing goes wrong and it works fine. However if something DOES go wrong, it's possible to permanently brick your phone in the process.
There's nothing specifically bad about updating the radio -- if it works then it's no big deal. But since it seems like something did go wrong on your phone when you installed the radio, you're lucky that the phone is still working at all.
I doubt you would even notice any difference between the two radio versions anyway. The differences appear to be very minor.

Having just bricked my phone with messing with radio images, I couldn't agree with you more.
T
thanks for the quick explanation drumist!
and sorry to hear tedkunich's aria was bricked from flashing radio image... that sucks
just to report back:
GPS is working fine again! found sats within seconds and got a few fixes within half a min...
mobile network, on the other hand, isn't... i think it has to do with Gene's ROM... because when i restored a previous backup (fr008) i can connect (WCDAM) right away...
anyway i am more than grateful already... and i'll do more digging on the mobile network issue...
thanks again!
Good night.
I've flashed with no problems the Telstra 1.4.2 Radio N_01.87.00R radio in the past. I wanted to try the OLYLA_U4_0.50.0_R03 radio (Retail Brazil) but I can't make a working SBF.
If I try to compile it with desbf.exe or Moto Android (De)packer 1.3 when I try to flash I get a sec_exception: febe, 35, 35 error.
I tought it was something related to the ram downloaders. So I used all the 4.1.8.3 CG5 files (cefs.mbn, dbl_sec.mbn, firmware.hmg, firmware.xml, osbl_sec.mbn, partition.mbn, RDL1.smg, RDL3.smg) except amss_sec.mbn wich under my understand its the radio.
Then when I try to flash the sbf I get a e003003f error in RSD Lite.
I ended flashing the Telstra 1.4.2 Radio N_01.87.00R again, since I couldn't flash the Brasil one, nor the N_01.92.00R radio.
Only reason I want to try the Retail Brazil radio is that is that Argentina carriers usually import Motorola phones from Brazil. So the radio of this rom should work in my phone much better than the Telstra one (in theory), since its developed for my area.
I will appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance.

When in call connection, it shows connected but there are no audio at all what so ever. connection is stuck can't hang up call. Eventually the Atrix reboot itself.
I will try flashing the new radio see if this is gona fix me problem.
PS: I have download the 1.4.2 radio and it's full sbf file today. I'm temped but not game enough to flash it. It only report working on the Bell's Atrix.

There's a two topics with that radio, the most recent one is the one for the Atrix.
Back on topic, can anyone, please, tell me how can I flash the Retail Brazil radio to my phone?.
Thanks to NFHimself I managed to make a working SBF.
I used desbf to delete everything but RDL1, RDL3 and CG5 then replaced CG5 with the radio I wanted.
With the Retail Brazil radio, I don't have internet access. Can't understand why since I have the 3G connectivity icon in the status bar and in the info menu it says I'm on UMTS. I also have the signal meter full.
Similiar behaviour with the 4.2.1.1 radio, but this one only gives me one signal bar.
I wanted to try the other Brazilian radios, but I'm almost sure they will not work.
So it seems the only working radio with AT&T Atrix (other than the AT&T ones) its the Telstra 4.1.4.2 one. I had to reflash it, since the other two radios doesn't work.
Now I'll have to find a working radio wich gives me HSPA. At the moment I only get UMTS.
