Dropped it, lost Sound

Hi
I just dropped my xda , and I seem to have lost all sound since then. Therefore cant use as a phone anymore .
I plan to take it to a well known phone repair outlet hereabouts, but since this is an entirely different piece of equipment it would probably help if they had a circuit diagram or something, with pointers as to what to look for.
Would anyone be able to help out with this, so that I can then take it to these guys with some indication as to what they should look for and where it is likely to be?
ANY help is welcome.
Hi,
I have had this problem but without dropping it  just using it regularly like a MP3 player in my car thru the jack connector on it (same thing if you are using offten the headphone :?: ). So my problem was on the jack and I fixed it myself with a shortcut, and sence then my sound volume has become even better, suppose it vas galvanized a bit before :?
All the best

Itech Clip Radio problem

Has anyone used the Itech Clip Radio with a Hermes before? I think I read on here that someone was able to use it but I'm having trouble pairing it to the phone.
The headset is a bit hard to turn on as it takes a few presses of the function button before it turns on. After it's on and blinking 1 blue/ 1red LED (not alternating between blue and red) I try to find the device on my Jasjam but it can't find anything.
I also tried to discover the headset with an Atom Exec, Nokia N80 and Nokia NGage and they all couldn't find it.
Any idea what I should do?
Thanks
It's ok now. I didn't press long enough to get the pairing working before. Works fine now but have yet to try out the other functions.
Test
Hi Jag,
I have in mind to get the itech radio clip too. Would you post a little review of what you think about it and how it works with the hermes?
Thanks
Nav
Don't do it, it can produce very poor quality sound with the Hermes. Go for the Nokia or Sony.
The S38 works great for me. I wouldn't exactly describe myself as an audiophile, but I have spent alot of time listening with mine. The only trick is if it plays for a second and turns off, you need to lock the screen (push power button) and turn it back on. works great after that.
I listen to Sirius over the internet though. I have no interest in terrestrial radio So I guess if you are asking about the radio reception, you should ignore my opinion.
I have iTech Clip Radio too. I am fine with the quality.
But I found some times the device will drop sound and the device seems still connected to Hermes. The BlueTooth status is X "Not active".
I need to reboot Hermes in order to resume it.
Do you have similar situation? Or, do you have any solution?
Thanks!!!
The lastest version of WM6 Black, 3 has updated Bluetooth drivers which significantly improves both performance and sound quality. give it a shot if you have troubles.

upgrading the monitor

What would be involved?
I have a 6800 with a bad screen. I also have a couple of spare touch screens(5"). One from a GPS and one on my car stereo. How hard would it be to find the correct wires in the phone hard wire one of the other touch screens. I know the driver might be hard to find to get this working. But heck I am just playing with this. I would kind of like to connect the computer part of the phone to a car EEC. I have found the software to run on the PPC. Now I just need to connect the aux monitor and install the drivers.
I would really like to get it set up as an aux input to my indash monitor.
Give up it isn't going to work to use a different touchscreen
ebay...you can have the touch screen only for 20$ and the complete touchscreen and the screen for around 40$

What is the software you have, do you have a link to it?
Can you upload it? (Is it free?).
It sounds real cool to de able to monitor the EEC function, Maybe "adjust" it too.
Any way, I think even the old 6700 screen won't work on my 6800.
But let me know about that software if you can.
Thanks.
Would something like this work for you?

TV out not working on Verizon TP2

Hi guys,
I'm having an issue with my new touch pro 2 from verizon.
I purchased the act100 TV out cable:
http://store.wmexperts.com/htc-tv-out-cable-act100/11A75A5166A.htm
I plug it in as instrucated, the touch pro 2 asks me what type of signal i want (NTSC/PAL) then brings me to a screen where i can pick Presentations etc.
However the TV displays no images, i get sound but never a picture.
I have tried this on 2 different TV's and tried both NTSC and PAL and all i ever get is a blank screen with audio.
Am i missing something or is the device faulty?
thanks

Hi Raptor,
I have exactly this problem, and I am quite distressed, because it worked only a few days ago. Did you ever get this issue resolved? I know you listed the same issue on another forum, but I couldn't tell how you did it from the post. How did it work?
Cheers,
Joel
Sad to say i never made this work sorry.
Me too, and google around doesn't help anyway,
If it's has resolved, pls post it in here or pm me.
Thanks
Ok, some year ago i tried to make the sound work through the speakers in my car.
I opened up a soundcable and modifyed it to fool the phone that it was in video out mode.
So here's how the cables should be connected. I can post my pics of how it looks and maby someone's able to figure something out from it
Actually, it would be really easy to fool the phone that it's in Video out mode, just bend the gnd wire to the tv-detector wire, and solder them together (inside the cable that goes into your phone).
The blue and the orange pin needs to be connected to each other inside the cable housing.
Edit: To clear things out this actually works on my phone and whenever i connect the cable it swaps over to video-out mode. No problems at all.
Edit2: Nevermid, after reading through your post i noticed that you've already got the phone thinking it's in video out mode, so that's probably not the problem.

[Q] camera add on? any hardware expert willing to brainstorm on this?

hey guys such a great forum here, I have hardware background and electronics edducation. close but not enough to figure this one out on my own. I an dreaming of using a usb camera from an old laptop inside this great tablet. I am sure there is a hope it can be done to the willing souls. I am willing to tinker and solder etc. that's what I like. I have a stereo speakers added great sound now. just wish for camera to be able to video chat.
I hope someone can get me clues how to start. thanks in advace.
From what I understand the problem is that the Nook cannot recognize the USB connected cam, but it can power the cam. I have heard about some people that use Wi-Fi enabled cams, and the tablet can see it.
I have seen people use cams that clip to the top of the Laptop, then plug into USB. This prompted a silly idea in my head.
I have heard of security cameras that transmit over Wi-fi, and Im picturing a setup that would basically be a security camera clamped to the top of the Nook, then powered from the USB. It would be a little odd, and take some research, but thats the Frankenstein monster type thing that I have so far.
Just my silly addition to the brainstorm.
only think it wont work to to use wifi to see camera and chat on wifi! I think. not portable.
