Hi I have Prophet (Imate Jamin) CID Unlocked. I recently updated to WM6 using PDAVIET RoM v 4.0.0.0.4 (First updated to NVID version of WM5 AKU2.2t).
I have a peculiar problem,
a) I am not able to recieve any SMS's.
b) I am not able to send any SMS's thru the messenger system, however I can send SMS's thru alternate program (O2 SMS Plus)
Since I am able to send SMS's using the O2 SMS Plus Program, I don't think it should be a Radio Rom problem.
Any help would be appreciated!!!.

Ii seems the problem was some kind of conflict because of the multiple mssging softwares.... O2SMS Plus & Pocket outlook.
The problem went away once I removed O2 SMS plus... learnt the hard (long) way had upgraded & downgraded 4-5 times b'fore I finally understood what the problem was...

can sens and recieve SMS from CANADA but not from PERU
i have a X02HT Smarphone WIndows mobile 6 , softbank carrier
i was able to receive and send SMS from CANADA but i tried to PERU(51) but couldnt get it and even send
any ideas?

I have the same problem.
I try to modify the registry, but it's only a temporary solve. Sometime the problem appear again.
After I read this thread, I remove O2SMS Plus, and the problem solved.

Did you actually send or recieve a fax?, I ask because i have just installed the latest version and whilst it installs no problem, i cannot select the modem in the xda2 because it isnt in the lists options ?
You have to install the latest 2.08 version for XDA II, from the website www.ksesoftware.com
It is the last one on the list.
Now, to be honest, since yesterday I've been trying to send faxes (not receive). I don't know why, but sometimes it succeeds and sometimes (more), it hangs.
By the way, you don't have to make any settings for the modem in this version, because it is already fixed to internal moden on XDA II.
KSE fax software works only with some ROM vers. I'm sure... this software doesn't work with 1.66. Maybe works with 1.72....

My experience in TrueFax is my Mobile provider boarded the transmission of fax. Thus, I can't get and sent fax unless I paid them for the fax service.
Few days ago, I`ve bought that software (Truefax 2.0 Phone Edition II). I have installed it successfully and start sending faxes with no problems, but even I have special fax number from my provider, cannot receive faxes. It starts well (screen: "waiting for incoming call", then "answer"), you can hear the "fax signal" from the other`s fax speaker, but at that moment transfer is stopped and "no carrier detected" is displayed.
I wrote about this problem to '[email protected]' and now waiting for their respond. Anybody have a solution?
After upgrading to the iMate 1.72 on my O2XDAII, I lost the ability to send SMS. I confess I did a mix and match with extended ROM stuff, so that's probably the source of my error, I guess. I can make/receive calls, and MMS and GPRS are also fine. I can also receive SMS, just not send them.
When clicking send, I get the message "The phone is not ready. Please Try again in 15 seconds." Thinking perhaps the SMS service centre was not configured correctly, I went into Phone/Options, but get the same "The phone is not ready…" message before the options display.
I've downloaded other SMS software, and can send from them fine, using the service centre off the SIM.
Any suggestions?
Is this from a clean start or have you restored a previous backup after burning rom?
It was a clean start, but from a cooked ROM. (Mixture of 1.72 iMate and 1.60 O2). To be honest, I've given up now, and just flashed the 1.72 ROM, and everything is OK. I guess I can live without my 02 customisation.
I've installed clean i-mate 1.72 ROM (simply modified operator), but it didn't help. Any suggestions?
Well, the answer was really simple - don't mix old customized extended Roms with i-mate 1.72 ROM. After installing clean i-mate ROM with its own extended ROM I could not send only first sms, then all went all right.

If you want customization from old O2, take out O2 specific CAB files using ExtROM Editor 2003 from old O2 ExtROM and put them to 1.72 ROM. Then flash it to device...
Or use itsme's ExtROM unlocker to put old o2 customizations to currently flashed ExtROM those old o2 specific CAB files to that ExtROM, edit config.txt in device and then make hard-reset...

The new version has an operator version 3.661.230 (MMS version). But my SPV does not seem to have an operator version
Currently I'm running:-

Is it worth upgrading?how will I benifit?

Hi,
Checked out the new upgrade from Orange and it works perfectly on my SPV M1000.
The benfits of upgrading are that you will be able to send MMS messages from your phone without having to configure everything yourself (which I had to do!)
The other benefits (apparently) are better radio and GPRS, but I haven't noticed any difference yet.
Also, while I was upgrading, I had a message saying there was a problem and to start again. Don't worry if this happens as I reconnected the phone and it installed fine.

I could not find anything looking like the 3.661.230 where they indicated it.
b) Once I am going through the asshole of a a ROM upgrade, are there real advantage in going for the imate 1.72 update and going through a slightly more complicated procedure?
Just to put into context I already have installed thanks to this forum an SMS SW version I am happy with and I want to buy a BT GPS in the next two month so if you know for sure that it is not going to work either with my ROM or the new one from Orange please let me know!!!

Orange M1000 Upgrade ROM Thur 12th Aug 2004... Problem

I upgraded my ROM to the latest from Orange UK and my bluetooth headset (Logitech) paired OK and I can hear the people talking, but they CAN'T hear me!
Anyone had this type of problem before? I have used the MMS version. Today I will try the NON-MMS version and see if that allows 2 way communication via Bluetooth

I just upgraded my ROM and now I cant see the STORAGE folder. Anyone else have this issue?

I too upgraded my M1000 and when I did a restore from Sprite - It too made my storage and storage card disappear. In the end I just did a hard reset and manually installed my programs and did not do a restore.

Hi,
You say you have problems with the Storage/Storage card going missing - when you performed the upgrade, were these still visible until you restored things with Sprite because this might be the problem if you are restoring an old configuration with an updated ROM.
I haven't tried my phone with a Bluetooth headset, I got the MMS version, will let you know if I have the same problem, but everything is working fine on mine at the moment.

I have installed the upgrade, everything works as well as it did before, time will tell if there are any improvements.
After an upgrade dont do a restore as the old backup is not compatible with the new OS. Its just the way PPCs work. I'm afraid you need to re-install everything from scratch, it too me about 4 hours, but its done know.

Just tried this update and received an error message.
Took the phone out of the craddle and performed a soft reset..
Screen still says "Serial V1. 03"
I cannot get it to do anything.
How do you perform a hard reset? Have tried pressing reset button with no battery (battery catch up and down) and tried letting the case touch the pins on the phone which can reset it.
TRULY HELP!!! PLEASE PLEASE HELP (please!)

yep ive just done the same,
yep ive just done the same, been trying for 1 hour now to get it running but no luck.
just spent an hour on to orange trying to explain the phone now neads replacing but they cannot send out till tomorrow.
lets hope it has the new rom installled or i may be in the same boat tomorrow
It now works!!! PHEW!!
Tried the hard reset & nothing happens.
What I did was hard reset then tried the update again... software now tells me that phone is now not compatible with the update.
I then repeated the above 17 panic-stricken times (both reset then update) and eventually it started the update process. Has now finally completed.
I was so worried!
GRPS is still flaky and still waiting for the MMS message sent to myself to go through (a bit slow).

Hard reset ???
I also upgraded my SPV with this ROM with MMS. I found no improvements, but 1 major problem. Sometimes the SPV is in suspend mode, i wait for several of minutes and want to push the power button, the device doesnt seem to react. Putting in the cradle isnt working also and taking the battery out and in again is also a failure. So the only sollution is to hard reset the m1000. Since the upgrade (2 weeks ago) i performed 2 hard resets. You guys also got the same problem? Or do you know how to fix this? I tried to upgrade my orange rom to the original Qtek 1.72 rom, but i got a message 120: error country code. So any ideas?

I have a G4 which I think is CID locked.

I have managed to get a number of different WM6 ROMs in
and 'sort-of' working. The reason for the upgrade is to get A2DP
working with my nice Motorola S9's. All of the WM6 ROMs give
me A2DP, however 'Contacts' does not work on any of them.
The Contacts screen flashes up for a moment then closes.
I have tried Titan V2.0, TNT 4.0 and SeeNoEvil ROMs
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It is known that restoring WM5 contact database to WM6 device does not work. You should use a backup program that does not backup the contacts database directly, or to backup with ActiveSync+Outlook.

'contacts'.
I have gone to \Windows and 'tapped' on addrbook.exe and
that does the same thing. The 'contacts' screen pops up for
a moment, then shuts down again, as though looking for a
.dll that isn't there. 'Calander' and 'tasks' work fine so I am
sure 'poutlook.exe' is working, it's just 'contacts' that doesn't
work.
Does any "super-softie" know what files addrbook.exe needs to
open/touch in order to run?

I had the same problem as yours.
I am also using a 2.21.0001 G4 CID locked.
Also the Windows Live Messager only flashed but not really running. The way to solve this is very simple.
Just do a hard reset. After that you will be able to use both msn and contacts.

i m using Imate Jasjam (hermes100). i am having a problem with network signals. its just network shows dummy signals. cant make or receive calls.
it all happened when i upgraded it to WM6. i used Hard SPL v9. the rom upgrade was ok. except that it stuck at 100% and gave a message to recover. but the rom upgrade become successful. after that i was having issue of this annoying radio prob. i used radio 1.54.30.10 after that i m using 1.54.07.00. but no change is noticed.
when the radio stops working, i change the 3G setting at Comm manager to auto mode than to GSM mode an it failed to register to network and showed "No service"

This is a very well documented problem with hermes. More and more people are starting to have this problem now.
I had the same problem and I got a new phone under warranty.
Most likely it is a radio hardware problem and probably you will need to have the motherboard changed.
If phone is still under warranty, just get it repaired by HTC. If not then you are probably out of luck.

that is very odd.
my hermes is working perfectly ok except the radio. it has never been bricked. i have flashed it many times. tried all versions of Hard SPL. tried many roms. tried many radio roms. everything installs to the last dip.
but still no success regarding radio signal problem.
i have noticed that when one sim stops showing network, i put other sim having other network coberage and it works. but jus for 10 to 12 hours. after that i have to change it back. and it works for 10 hours. but it really getting me on my nerve
please share if helpful to me.
PLEASE ADVISE ME if i get my Hermes fixed by changing its mother board, should i go for WM6 and newer radio or not.
