My MDA USB port is defect. It could not hold charge anymore. Where can I find the replacement part.

I have a USB cable for MDA I (the original T-Mobile Pocket PC), and while fitting the MDA III and charging it, it causes a "USB device unrecognized" pop-up on the desktop.
Now I got a USB miniSync cable advertized for MDA III, and it has the same plug-in jack as the old MDA I cable. And surely causes the same message.
I see that the MDA III cradle's plug is different from MDA I's...
Is there any way to make those USB cables work with MDA III (drivers?), or miniSync is mislabeled? Some places, like EB cases, carry cables labeled XDA/MDA II /MDA III -- I assume they're the same, so is it a mislabeling too?...
My MDA does not charge anymore. Nothing wrong with the battery, I put battery in my 8125, it works fine. When I put the USB connector to USB port and shake little bit sometime it charges. I guess the USB connector form MDA was loose and failed. How to fix it. I can USB connector from here http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=254157 but what part number I don't know and how to install it properly (I have the repair service manual and I already disassembly my MDA with no problem at all). The part cost about $3.00 and I am very handy with electronic components soldering but I want to be sure. I have a quote from couple places they charge about $69.00 plus shipping. It is too much. Anybody can help me. Thanks

You can use any mini usb cable you can find. Think your o2 XDA should also have an USB cable...

my ATOM cannot charge and cannot connect via activesync
battery and usd cable and power charger are proven OK, tested with other Atom , it works
now suspect mini usb port problem or software or other hardware problem
when i hook up charger or usb cable , the red light on for a while and off
i can see the charging logo on for a while, i go to POWER screen, can see charging but just a while only

This could be hardware error...the usb port...
But...try it with carefully plug the usb cable, slowly...don't pull it to end of device slot...
Just untill the red light of battery charging turned on...then leave it...

i had this problem recently as well, mine turned out the usb sockets on one of my notebooks couldn't cope with the current being pulled to charge and so shut themselves down stopping the charging after a few seconds. i found a mains to usb charger plugged it in and left it for an hour and all was ok again. if you don't have a mains charger try one of the dual usb to mini leads you get with some external drives, the one i tried seems to spread the load enough to charge the device

the atom series from quanta have a lousy usb port and ear piece component used
both of these component need to be hot air-ed out of the board in order to do replacement.
the usb port will be easily fallen off from the board due to poor soldering or mis-used by user.
the ear piece 2.5mm jack will be spoilt when frequently used and headset unplugging from device. when faulty, the device will think that the headset is still inserted & do not project the sound out during a call from normal hearing speaker (user can only use bluetooth headset to do calls) the mic will not work too if loudspeaker mode is on.
my 2cents, find someone skilled to replace them if they still can find the component in market & u think its worth servicing or buy another model.

I realised this yesterday after 23:58 Very bad - i don't know where to find original cable or some connector pinout. Even my siemens unlocking cable don't work.
Nothing, phone will stay with german rom, wm2003. Even flashing via sd card not possible
Blue Angel usb cables can easily be found online if you look for them I purchased a couple for 10 dollars or less.
They tended to come with a USB docking station, this is what you'd use to sync it to a computer.
I am selling one, but postage could be an issue...
