My ISP has currently adopted UMA technology
I have read that WM6 have UMA support
So, is it possible to use my prophet as a dualphone with wm6?
wich actual roms support it?
thanks
thanks anyway
iseeka - whilst I'm not sure how/if WM6 supports UMA, many of the current incarnations of the WM6 ROMs for the Prophet have had their VOIP components stripped out of them. The ROMs that still have the VOIP bits left in can only utilise VOIP through the external speaker on the back. (Basically, if you could get it set up with UMA, the experience would likely be far from user-friendly.)
here is a thread from the wizard forum that might be helpful

first i like to give a statement about how i am feeling today it is absolutely great to have a working copy of wm2005 (even it is still on alpha or pre-beta status) for himalaya available. great job of all who have been involved.
when i come down a little and my brain starts his usual work again i had the following ideas/dreams:
i think fact is that we will never have an official wm2005 for our himalayas even we would pay for it. double no! (and shame to all who sell those devices for loosing a good chance for making some money with their existing platforms)
but fact is also that there will be devices with wm2005 on the market, maybe by the middle of 2005, maybe by the end, maybe next year, maybe...
and here starts my thinking: on one hand we have a wm2005 for himalaya, with all necessary drivers onboard, a working registry etc. on the other hand we will have final releases of wm2005 on other devices. with all those ppc gurus here in the forum would it be possible to set up a wm2005 for himalayas, where drivers are in a pre-release status but the rest of the system is in final status.
what do you guys think? is that too much dreaming or is there a chance for setting up such a version of wm2005 especially tailored for himalayas?
also i think, the final release of wm2005 will be much more lean (no debugging stuff in it). it will surely provide more free memory after installation and of course much more speed than the current pre-release (and here i see one advantage of our himalayas: there are well equipped with memory and therefore open for future features like wm2005).
keep up the good work

Hi,
After trying the various excellent roms from our charmer wm6 developers I've now gone back to version 2.5.
This version has working a2dp and internet explorer home page. (Although the latter has now been figured out)
The ability to switch between page scroll and link scroll also works within version 2.5. (I use pieplus)
Version 2.5 is also very fast and seems very stable, with a good amount of free memory available for all the extra stuff we like to put on.
Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate the effort that has gone into the version 4 roms but I am struggling to fault version 2.5. (unless I've missed something.)
regards
pjam
I've just been doing my homework and it seems that the a2dp support on version 2.5 is the same as the wm5 as far as quality is concerned.
According to various sources, the true wm6 greatly improves the a2dp quality allowing a "joint stereo" setting to be used within the registry. The joint stereo option within this rom and the wm5 rom seemingly improves quality but actually plays in mono rather than stereo.
I've just tested this.
I have no idea how to do it but is it possible to just add a true wm6 bluetooth stack?
cheers
pjam
I agree
I am still with 2.5, mainly because of a2dp - I use it every day. In testing the 4.x roms, I couldn't see a big advantage either - the main change is to the icons in Office Mobile apps and their support of the new compressed XML document formats (which just slows them down imho).
I think it would be good to have a list of the registry tweaks etc that have been applied to make 4.x better so we can try the same on the 2.5 rom.
Pjam: you can't base your theory on just one example (yours). Most users reported an increase in speed after flashing the 004.4 rom. The thing is, it's on completely different core, and that's why it cannot be compared to 2.5.
I recently disposed myself of my charmer so I'm not able to continue the work, unlike nocture... The only thing missing in 4.4 is A2DP and IE homepage (issue already solved). Having that fixed, the final rom will be ready and I'm assuming it won't be developed any more.
Personally, I use wizard nowadays and got through various wm6 rom for wizard. I NEED to say that they are all buggy and unstable, which was not observed by me on the vlono wm6 for charmer. So instead of wallowing and complaining you should just try to embrace the rom AS it IS.

Steady on Vlodeck.
I've already complimented you and nocturne on the various roms and was simply pointing out, politely, what I have observed after trying each version. Nocturne has already pointed out that he doesn't have an a2dp headset to test so it is up to us that have headsets to highlight what does and doesn't work.
I may not be a programmer but feel I have contributed to the wm6 roms by offering suggestions and potential solutions as I have found them. I haven't just sat back and waited.
I am not wallowing or complaining, just opening a discussion that will hopefully help others to make a decision.

Please Anyone Help For Wpa2 Support In Wm 6.1
And Issues Regarding Threaded Messaging
Hi,
A quick forum search for WPA2 would have helped but as its Friday and I'm in a good mood....
CloudyFa has released a test 6.1 ROM with WPA2 support but it is ONLY for testing. Expect more from CloudyFa in the future though.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366126
As far as I am aware that is the only way to get WPA2 support. There is no 'addon' that I am aware of.
Happy to be corrected.

Then I'm afraid you will have to wait for CloudyFa and Korand to do their magic and include this in upcoming ROMs.
I'm sure its something they are looking into but its best to leave them to work on stabilizing the 6.1 environment as a whole first before asking for additional features, important as they are to you.

Hello everyone,
I'm a senior member over in the Herald forum, I have a T-mobile Wing, aka HTC Atlas / Herald... but I have a friend who is switching to Verizon and he really liked my Atlas, and wanted to get a PPC... so I was helping him with his purchase.
My main question is, who are the cooks and what are the best roms available for this PPC? I know this is kind of a vague question, because we have n00bs asking it all the time in the Herald forum, but I'm looking for a couple of opinions and a little help getting pointed in the right direction.
Basically so far I've found :
dcd's titan ROMs & kitchen 3.0.1
key's v1.2.5 cleaned 3.35 kitchen
Are those the 2 Rom's available for this device?
He is in the medical field ... so I'd like to set him up with the most stable, fastest rom available, since he needs his phone to be reliable. What 6.1 Rom are available and what do you guys think would be his best bet?
Basically, the moment my friend purchases this phone, he is going to come over and I'm going to flash it and install any other software he needs on there... so I was trying to get some input prior to.
Thanks in advance
Nexvision cooks up a mean ROM for sure...you gotta like bells and whistles, but they are among my favs...

For stability's sake, I'd suggest sticking to a WM 6 ROM as nothing is yet official and released in WM 6.1 for the Titan.
DCD's 1.7.x is solid and tweaked based upon the pre-GPS enabled WM 6 ROMs, PPCGeeks has some cleaned releases based upon last week's Sprint release (WM 6), and you've found my kitchen that is also just a cleaning (initiated by a1jatt) of last week's Sprint release, without any built-in tweaks to the base ROM, and only options to change and add to the ROM as one chooses. My latest version (1.2.5.1) appears to be running fine with no current unresolved stability complaints against it in the thread.
Dear friends,
I came from a Hermes to a Raphael... I was a valid and almost specialized contributor to the Hermes community but regarding Raphael I am back to the noob point...
Given he fact Raphael has loads of memory i changed the pagepool of the ROM i flashed [ROMeOS 2.1.04.20748] to 64.
After doing that o realize this ROM has several lockups as well as erratic behaviour...
As we say in Portuguese: «FODA-SE» which means «F*C*»...
Can the pagepool size influence the ROM and - therefore - device behaviour?
What is the maximum recommended pagepool size for Raphael?
P.S. Please note that i got my Raphael yesterday and I already flashed ALL ROMs available... Some are pure s*i*, some are quite nice a well as ROMeOS2 in spite of its instability...
Thank you for your eventual contribution,
Thank you in advance,
Raphael user who believes that there are still lots of cooks ti migrate...
Cheers.
I tried those rom's twice and they were unstable without changing the pagepool!
Several lock ups over less than 12 hours of use compared to NO lock ups with factory ROM or the other rom flashes.
