Hi all , new to XDA
Got a Tytn that Rogers released a few weeks ago and while i love this pda i am getting frustrated with ttrying to find a proper case. The best one so far is the Krusell case but i ordered off ebay 3 others. Two of them where two piece snap on type but these are 8525 which you would think is the same thiickness but apparently not as the top piece does not snap on. Also got a metal one that is ok but as the case with the other two also, acess to the 2 phone buttons is partially blocked. So.. anyone find or suggest other cases.....
thanks

Dude, I can't help you with the case thing.. maybe you can help me. I'm looking for the full url of the rogers default home page.
it would be the default page that pocket internet explorer goes to. to get it just hit menu and then address bar.
please post it back here..

Today I had the following strange thing:
My XDA was in my cradle and everything worked fine in the morning.
At one moment I looked at my XDA and saw the screen was totally scrambled. All horizontal and vertical lines over the screen. You are not able to see what the screen should display.
Has anybody ever seen this. Is the screen broken?
I already tried a soft reset and a hard reset.
I updated my XDA to ROM 4.00.11 withou any problems about 2 months ago.
Damn I hate this!!!! Any help will be appreciated.
Rogierh, I have seen this before. The only way I was able to get my XDA working was to get it replaced by o2. However I have never tried to replace the screen. This seems to be a problem with XDAs. I have now had 5 XDAs and all of them died with the screen thing.
Gil.
Thanks for your reply.
I bought my XDA second hand, so don't have any warenty.
Think I am screwed!!!
Rogierh, if you hunt about on the forums here you will find loads of info on broken screens. You can replace them fairly cheaply and easily. So you may be ok. If you do go down this route can you let me know how it goes (I have 4 XDAs with broken screens right now).
Gil.
How much do you want for them?
That sounds like you know were, how and for what you can repair them.
Please let me know too
Sorry I dont know, just thought you might want to get rid of them.
Hi Rogierh,
Replacement screens are terribly expensive. 199 dollars at pdasmart.com. Don't know if they come any cheaper. Check http://www.xda-developers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=639&highlight= for info on replacing the screen.[/url]

Yes, I fall under the category of running with HTC's original velcrow case and having the phone fly into the air in complete slow motion and then sliding screen faced down.
For the past month or so I have been looking for the stock housing but I seem to hit a dead end...UNTIL TODAY!
Click.
My question for you fine people....is it legit? Has anybody bought/tried this specific housing on their Sprint TP?
Thanks in advance.

Well, it also says they are out of stock, and minimum order is 2. Might have better luck on ebay, or ask a Sprint store if they have an extra demo.
Demo or Dummy phones don't work for parts any more. they look like the phone from the outside now, but they are totally different inside and have no provisions to put real phone insides into them. The last dummy phones to actually be able to be used as parts was in the days of the HTC Apache/PPC-6700, HTC Wizard/MDA, or any other phones of that time frame, any phones newer than that have been change to not be used for parts like the Mogul/PPC-6800, HTC Herald/T-Mo Wing, or HTC Juno/T-Mo Shadow. I know cause I used to fix phones using the dummy phones as parts to get them looking new again. Most if not all dummy phones are like this now, even regular phones like Motorolas and such.
Nawwwwww, the Sprint stores here have no input about housings.
Hi All.
First off, a MASSIVE mention to Rachmat3 for his fantastic work on rooting the GS2 ICS with no PC or flashing required http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501719
Tested on Three UK official ICS, worked first time, in 3 minutes flat, all from my phone.
ANYWAY! back to the question in hand.
Does anyone have any good links / sites regarding Back plates for the GS2?
I don't mean cases, I mean the actual clip on battery covers, so fair I have only been able to locate the standard black / white ones, or a brushed aluminium one.
Are there any sites that supply a large variety of these?
NB: I have been searching XDA for 2 weeks for this info, and only found the aforementioned!
Thanks again!
You should probably look under the accesories section.

If u also search for a bit new form and not only style, then search for the 2000mh battery, it has a special back plate for it, so that the form is straight in hight of loudspeaker.
Maybe u r searching for something like this?!

Hello, I am looking to change my battery that has swollen.
Do you have an idea where to buy it?
AFAIK you can't buy new batteries, nor can you remove the old one unless you know exactly what you're doing.
it is removed from the phone but I can not find a seller for this item ......
aliexpress, there is a lot of stuff for our phones. i picked up the screen about a month ago, and it cost only 20$.
I also bought a screen for this phone on this site, but there is no battery ...

I have also bought a screen from AliExpress, but there are no instruction on how to replace. Do you have any kind of instructions? I can only find remove the screws on the bottom and the simcard holder, then use a prying tool between the bezel and the backplate. But this is very limited? Any advice? Ofcourse doing it is all at my own risk, but I need some help

Hi Bubu,
I can't find the video. Do you have the link or can you post the title (if a link wouldn't be allowed).
Any help is probably better that none.
A local phone shop was able to open it. Now I am removing all parts. I am currently stuck with the battery, but I expect the screen will also be a challenge. At least it seems it was at the first Swift.
Thanks,
