A friend of mine had a problem when he tried to run the SIM/CID unlocker provided by Pof .. he has an IPL of 1.01 and a SPL that says .. 1.40-olipro .. which is the right spl when you run the unlocker.. but his phone is stuck in bootloader mode.. I told him to try to flash back to official at&t rom to give his phone some life hopefully ..and when he runs the ruu it gets to 12% and bombs out on him with a update error:
ERROR [262, 276, 284, 302] : UPDATE ERROR
This error occurs during the CE ROM code upgrade process.
Solution: If this happens, you can just soft-reset the device and run RUU again. The update process will then continue.
Note: At this stage, the Wince is destroyed; instead, it is in upgrade mode.
Any ideas on what this means?
He has tried soft resetting and trying it again.
Ok he tried flashing the at and t rom again and now his ipl is 1.03 instead of 1.01 .. lol and still stuck in bootloader
lol no ones ever seen an error like that?

can anyone explain "update error 262". Im am trying to upgrade my radio rom only. I get this error weather im in bootloader 1.04 and even tried 1.01mfg with no luck. the device is super cid.

you're supposed to get the error; it reaches 99% then it quits with an error, but you just ignore it and go ahead and soft-reset.
also, use 1.04, don't use 1.01
thanx for the respone, but it does not even get to 0 percent. it opens boot loader then the
error comes up.

Every thing went well but I was not able to HARD RESET. So instead I removed the battery and started it again. It starts up but got struck at screen which says
IPL 2.21.0001
SPL 2.21.0001
GSM 02.19.11
OS 2.18.00
Could some help me what to do now. I read some threads to go to Boot loader screen by pressing "Camera" + "Reset" button and got USB at bottom left and tried RUU with some thing available on forum but every thing failed saying "connection not established"
Please guide me to solve this problem.

If OS is not boot up correctly, both ways doesn't work because all of them requires to do in a working OS.
You should find your stock ROM or Wizard Love ROM, use the bundled RUU to flash it so you get the device working again, then use SoftSPL/flash HardSPL and use RUU to flash OS-only WM6 ROMs.
Yes starkwong you are right. I bought my device back working by flashing it with "wizard love" now its up and running. I would proceed with Soft SPL/Hard SPL and then try to flash it with WM6.
Just did the titan unlocker and now the p4000 is stuck in bootloader with these 2 lines:
TITA100
SPL-1.20.Olipro

since i'm stuck in bootloader mode, how can i use the ruu update utility ?
i'm getting connectiong failed and only option is to exit utility
any ideas ?
if u are in bootloader connect the usb cable and the phone should say usb at the bottom, just open up the ruu update and it should work just fine

re-edit: crashed at 11% - invalid command error 290... RUU encountered a communication error
recovery
at 11%, titan reset and went back into bootloader mode, RUU crashed but gave option for recovery which was "successful"
retried the same RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3.56.651.0_RS_3.42.02_SPCS2.04_PPST_0619_Ship.exe
and crashed again at 11%
i think i killed my phone
i can't seem to do anything, not the telus wm6.0 ruu nor the one stated earlier...
is there a way i can revert to my previous SPL 1.04 ?

got my telus wm6 to run and then decided to up to olipro 2.40
now it won't got past second splash...
radio is 1.32, rom is dcd 3.2.5
now from my understanding of what i've been reading is that i need to revert to olipro 1.20 to be able to flash my radio
and i can't do that since i can't get activesync.
any ideas ?
Get a SD card. Go to WIKI and following reverting to Stock. Then start over on flashing. I have done as you did and fixed the phone.
your phone sounds jacked up, how long is it stalling at 11%, r u giving it decent enough time?
redownload the latest sprint rom from htc america here:

let it run for at least 20 minutes before deciding it crashed...after 1st boot softreset before letting it run any customizations
During the upgrade it was around 15% that the upgrade utility show the error that device cannot connect.

my device freezed at second splash screen .
Now ,when i tried to rom upgrade in bootloader mode , using any ruu (ruuwraper,.....) it only shows 1% and my device reboots and ....
I know it's of little comfort but you really should have 1st install HardSPL and then use the SDCard method to flash your ROM.
Anyway your best bet to unbrick is to check this table here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Unbrick but with an SPL of 2.03 and no KITL you are probably screwed
hi guys,
trying to upgrade the radio rom, im using the customRUU and its getting to about 99% and then its getting the error 290: invalid command.
and now it only boots in the red, green, blue and white bootload screen.
heres some info if it helps:
SPL-1.42.HSPL on my hd2..
windows 7 home premium, (i tried running as admin, no difference.. also tried several other usb ports)
help would be appreciated!

have you tried a good ol MTTY or Task29 before flashing?
does the phone boot to RGD screen?
what Radio you using?
And you have the phone HSPL unlocked?
dodgy download perhaps? tried another radio?
did anyone find the solution to this problem??

What exact ROM versions have you tried, and what SPL or HSPL do you have showing in bootloader? Also is there a radio currently on your HD2 and what is that radio if so?
normally phone hd2 leo and italy not t mobile ant spl 208 hardspl maked bootmode okay ( also write boot with jtag ) radio ver 2.15.50.14

I had the same problem. I was trying to restore my phone to original firmware, due to issues with custom firmwares. I had managed to extract the NBH from the installer provided by my carrier, and used CustomRUU to flash the phone, but the phone was not booting.
I then flashed one of the EnergyROM builds onto my phone.
After that I could not get the original firmware onto the phone, error 290 at 9%.
I booted my phone into the bootloader (red/blue/green), and used HSPL2 to set SPL to 1.42.HSPL. I could then flash the original firmware.
My phone is now working fine, as best I can tell.
Always showing bootloader screen with rom upgrade error
I was trying to revert to windows custom rom from android (due to frequent freezing) and then onwards booting the phone I am always getting the bootloader screen displaying rom upgrade error.
I tried hard reset but still the same problem persists, then I downgraded the HSPL 2.08 to SPL-1.42.HSPL and then tried reinstalling the custom rom but still the same problem persists. In between after downgrading the HSPL, I tried task 29, it was unsuccessful after 96% (shows Invalid Command (Error 290)), while reinstalling the customRUU I have, I got something like error 270 at the end (it goes fine till 100%).
I also tried with installing the radio (ver 2.15.50.14) in between but to no effect
Please help me in fixing the issue, my phone is of no use now
