Hi all,
Been driving me nuts here...
Trying to get my M3100 to connect to my TomTom Go 500, so I can share the GPRS connection to get traffic etc.
Have tried all sorts of guides that say setting the manual details to
Access Point Name: internet
User Name: web
Password: web
IP Address: Automatic
DNS Server: Automatic
Dial: *99***3#
Login: at+cgdcont=3,"ip","internet","",0,0
(admittedly they WERE for Orange - this is just an example!)
Tried all that - nothing.
Also, the M3100 isnt in the list of known handsets on the TTG settings.
Of course, our dear friends at Orange support were worse than useless - basically took 5 seconds to say "Oh, we cant support that..." then hung up!
This is driving me bonkers - any idea guys?
Help much apreciated!

Hello,
again I have to turn to the XDA's developers forum specialists for help.
I had to hard-reset my XDA recently. After this I lost the dial up connection that I had with my orange SIM card (regular monthly contract).
It used to work perfectly fine, but now whenever I try to start the internet I receive the error message "unable to connect with current settings".
Orange helpdesk in the UK say they canot support the XDA, since it's not Orange authorized.
o2 helpdesk, says it's a provider problem, so it can only be dealt by Orange. So I am stuck in the middle :-(
What is the proper setting?
Do I need to type in a ISP, DSN no. and dial up no.?
Only filling in "orangeinternet" like in the past somehow does not work...
many thanks in advance

GPRS Settings (WAP)

comments on my orange question.
Many thanks for the comments on my orange question.
I tried to fill in some of the data that you mentioned, the XDA stareted also asking for VPN, modem & proxy settings, proxy servers etc.
I noticed when it tried to dial it starts with 011.
Anyway after typing in orangewap, and username, it is now conncted.
On the screen it says dialing from "home" connecting to O2 mobile WAP?
But I can now surf the interenet again, which is fab.
Many thanks , Swifty!!!!
Good Day Ladies and Gents,
I am currently new to the forum and request your kind assistance.
I am located in toronto and just purchased a SX56 of ebay, Im trying to set up GPRS on it but i dont have the connection settings.
Would any one be kind enough to help me with this
Regards
Jeremy
First, you have to get Data Plan - the WAP Data will not work.
http://www.shoprogers.com/store/wir...sp?shopperID=3B14CX7DPGSL8MECEMVV72AFJ1BRFUFA
and
http://www.shoprogers.com/store/wir...nceCd=ON&CityCd=Toronto&RegionCd=502&flow=GSM
Second you should create new GPRS connection with following settings:
Access Point: internet.com
User: wapuser1
Password: wapuser
Do not hesitate if you need more info.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your reply, I am currently subscribed to a rogers 7mb data plan.
When I called rogers to day they gave me these settings
My Connectin is Called : Rogers
Select Modem is : Cellular Line (GPRS)
Access Point: Internet.com
User Name: wapuser1 " all Lowercase"
Password: wap " all lowercase"
When I try connect to GPRS I get an error message saying " The answering modem has disconnected. To check your connection settingsand change them where needed."
Are there any advanced settings i must add like IP addresses by the way i am using T-mobiles Pocket Pc 2003
Cheers mate for the help
Regards
Jeremy
Hello everyone,
I have Siemens SX56 which was originally locked to AT&T and then unlocked lately.
I tried finding info on how to set up GPRS internet connection here on the forum but failed
Can anyone advice where I need to enter this info on my GSM operator GPRS:
(it's actually from my Motorola E1000 GPRS setup which connects fine - hence names, etc.)
NAME: Moldcell
Homepage: http://www.moldcell.md
Service Type: HTTP
Gateway IP: 10.0.10.10
PORT: 9201
DNS1: 000.000.000.000
DNS2: 000.000.000.000
Timeout: 15 minutes
Speed(BPS): 9600
Line Type: ISDN
APN: internet
Username: gprs
Password: gprs
Many thanks in advance!
Regards,
Artem.
you'd prob get more related responses in the networking it forum then pure wallaby forum
as gprs should be setup the same way on these devices
Hi Rudegar,
Thanks for the hint, but I still think it's SX56 and OS specific issue since I noted that in Connections settings I miss Proxy Settings where I'm supposed to set Gateway and port (as far as my understanding goes) - that's why I decided to check in this thread first.
Maybe there's some soft I need to use to connect to GPRS or whatever?
Guys, im from new zealand and one of my friend brought me this awesome phone from spain, I love it so much!
but the thing is i cannot find a operator from the list for new zealand! all i can find is for aussie vodafone!
help guys, where can i get those settings? i went to vodafone store but they said there's no such phone in NZ yet, so they wont help me. i look up their web sit that all i can find which might work is the setting for dopod 838 pro (http://wireless.vodafone.co.nz/phon...Id=25&networkId=57&contractId=90&phoneId=1342), but it wont work on my touch dual!!
can anyone help me!? THX!
For GPRS/3G, the settings are as follows (set up in Connections, "My ISP" on my Touch Dual):
APN: www.vodafone.net.nz
User/password/domain can be left blank
Sever-assigned IP address
For MMS, you need to set up a separate data connection. The only way I could find to select this separate account in the messaging program was to set it up under "My Work Network" rather than "My ISP".
APN: live.vodafone.com
User name: voda
Password: fone
In the messaging app, you need to set up a new MMS connection as follows:
Gateway: 172.30.38.3
Port: 9201
Server address: http://pxt.vodafone.net.nz/pxtsend
Connect via: "My Work Network"
Hi all,
Just got my S740, which I have to admit is surprisingly good.
My problem getting O2 settings to work.
Is there a .cab?
Tried manual setting but, I am crap at it and always have this initial problem.
Tried the O2 icon in settings, clicked get settings. error 'contact O2 for your settings'.
Anyone please help?
Thanks in anticipation.
SIM card up to date?
Mate is your SIM card up to date? 64k?
Operator services sometime need to interact via STK etc.
Just a thought...
Hi SIM is only 4 weeks old had issues with the settings on my ignito, so O2 sent me a new one.
Any ideas?
so do you miss all settings ?
Or just a bunch...
What do you need ?
APN for internet access, SMS message service number
i.e whats not working for you.....?
Let me know and I will try and find out.
Hi and thanks for your reply.
Everything is working apart from internet and MMS.
Thanks
Then you need your APN details.
Internet access and MMS are both depending on your GPRS settings.
Make sure you get the correct APN adress in your phone.
According to the O2 web, these settings are the correct ones for GPRS.
GPRS access settings
APN: mobile.o2.co.uk
Primary DNS: 193.113.200.200
Secondary: DNS 193.113.200.201
Username: username
Password: password
You might want to doublecheck these settings so that they are the correct ones for YOUR tariff - otherwise you might end up paying more than you should.
Regards,
Martin
btw.
You will find the settings were you add the above at:
Start - Settings - Connections - GPRS.
In here you either edit an existing one, or add a new one (via Menu -Add).
Thanks for the info, these settings I have.
I think the problem is that is it trying to connect to work. What should it be?
Thanks again.
not 100% sure
Have a look at:
http://www.filesaveas.com/mms.html
This might help you
Its tricky for me to verify since I am on a Swedish network.
If you want to connect to the internet set connection to "The Internet".
