Setting up GPRS connection - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Hello everyone,
I have Siemens SX56 which was originally locked to AT&T and then unlocked lately.
I tried finding info on how to set up GPRS internet connection here on the forum but failed
Can anyone advice where I need to enter this info on my GSM operator GPRS:
(it's actually from my Motorola E1000 GPRS setup which connects fine - hence names, etc.)
NAME: Moldcell
Homepage: http://www.moldcell.md
Service Type: HTTP
Gateway IP: 10.0.10.10
PORT: 9201
DNS1: 000.000.000.000
DNS2: 000.000.000.000
Timeout: 15 minutes
Speed(BPS): 9600
Line Type: ISDN
APN: internet
Username: gprs
Password: gprs
Many thanks in advance!
Regards,
Artem.

you'd prob get more related responses in the networking it forum then pure wallaby forum
as gprs should be setup the same way on these devices

Hi Rudegar,
Thanks for the hint, but I still think it's SX56 and OS specific issue since I noted that in Connections settings I miss Proxy Settings where I'm supposed to set Gateway and port (as far as my understanding goes) - that's why I decided to check in this thread first.
Maybe there's some soft I need to use to connect to GPRS or whatever?

Rogers AT&T GPRS settings

Good Day Ladies and Gents,
I am currently new to the forum and request your kind assistance.
I am located in toronto and just purchased a SX56 of ebay, Im trying to set up GPRS on it but i dont have the connection settings.
Would any one be kind enough to help me with this
Regards
Jeremy
First, you have to get Data Plan - the WAP Data will not work.
http://www.shoprogers.com/store/wir...sp?shopperID=3B14CX7DPGSL8MECEMVV72AFJ1BRFUFA
and
http://www.shoprogers.com/store/wir...nceCd=ON&CityCd=Toronto&RegionCd=502&flow=GSM
Second you should create new GPRS connection with following settings:
Access Point: internet.com
User: wapuser1
Password: wapuser
Do not hesitate if you need more info.
Paul
Hi Paul,
Thanks for your reply, I am currently subscribed to a rogers 7mb data plan.
When I called rogers to day they gave me these settings
My Connectin is Called : Rogers
Select Modem is : Cellular Line (GPRS)
Access Point: Internet.com
User Name: wapuser1 " all Lowercase"
Password: wap " all lowercase"
When I try connect to GPRS I get an error message saying " The answering modem has disconnected. To check your connection settingsand change them where needed."
Are there any advanced settings i must add like IP addresses by the way i am using T-mobiles Pocket Pc 2003
Cheers mate for the help
Regards
Jeremy

O2 settings on my Lobster

Hi
I'm waiting for my unlock code to come through from Virgin. Once it does, I'd like to use my O2 sim in it - will I be able to set it up for O2Active etc? Also, once a month I'll need to put the virgin sim back in to get the license download for the telly - will I still be able to do that if I've changed the GPRS settings to O2?
Cheers
Did you ever get your Lobster working on O2?
I had a quick play this morning but it didn't work with trying to apply the settings I used on my Universal, but then not all the settings would fit.
I've seen there is a proxy setting too, must be something to do with that...

This was copied from another post.. but for the MMS part, u must go to Configurations which is among the menu such as settings, games etc.. right at the end ! and u'll find MMS settings.
Thanks, it was a bit of a ***** but I believe I managed to find the right place to put the right bits in the end

how to set up the mobile network?

i just unlocked my htc hero(T mobile G2) and already got my O2 sim card unlimited internet bolt. however, i cant access to the internet using my O2 sim card. for this reason, i cant set up any of my e mail account either. i believe that the O2 sim can be used in htc hero, the problem is how to set up the mobile internet setting. use auto or manual setting?
btw: how to get the PDF handset instructions in the sim card?
help~~got the phone but cant use
Whole lot is at>>>> http://www.modmyi.com/wiki/index.php/Carrier_APN_Settings
thank you very much indeed. still found that slow in browsing, download and upload. anyways can speed it up?
here are part of the setting from the link:
O2 GPRS settings (Email/Web): Homepage: http://pda.o2.co.uk/
APN address: mobile.o2.co.uk
Username: mobileweb
Password: password
Session type: Continuous / permanent
Authentication: Normal
Security: Off
HTTP Proxy: 193.113.200.195
Port number: 8080
Email servers (POP): mail.o2.co.uk
Email servers (SMTP): smtp.o2.co.uk
DNS Servers: 193.113.200.200 and 193.113.200.2
O2 "Simplicity" EDGE Settings (may also work for other non-iPhone O2 contracts, but will *not* work with Pay and Go):
APN: mobile.o2.co.uk
Username: faster
Password: web
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1, where can i set the
"Session type: Continuous / permanent
Authentication: Normal
Security: Off " and the email servers, EDGE Settings?
2, what's the MMS port after entering the MMS Proxy: 193.113.200.195:8080, is it 8080?
3, is the "O2 UK Monthly Iphone Contract Cellular data" setting also available to the O2 simplicity?
4, where can i set the "EDGE Settings"?
5, what's the APN type i should input?
BTW, anybody use O2 sim in htc hero (t mobile g2) the same as me?
many thanks for so many stupid questions.
