Spectec SDG-811 miniSD GPS - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Accessories

Any one know if this might work on our devices when it is released?

Wallaby Bootloader Version as clue to age?

I recently spotted a great deal on eBay. A Siemens SX-56 with the 64MB PPC Techs RAM upgrade, java ivo 1918 leather carrying case, 2 write-shield protectors, a car charger, cradle and charger, plus 2 64MB SD Cards and 1 128MB SD card.
It was listed at a modest price, so I just had to bid, thinking perhaps to sell my current SX56 should I win. Well, it turns out that I was the winning bidder for all of the above for less than $200 US.
So now that I've bragged a little, on to my question. The SX-56 I bought in January came with the bootloader version 5.22. The SX-56 I just received from that auction has version 5.15.
Which makes me wonder, is there a chronology to the bootloaders that anyone is aware of, and could this give me an idea about how much older the unit I just bought is than the unit I already had?
Not that it matters much, but I thought I'd pose the question. Any thoughts?
I can't remeber the details, but if you search here you will find a topic addressing some problems with specific bootloader versions (I remember for example that 5.22 can't sense SD card with .nbf ROM file, but 5.17 can).
So, your new device might be patched by a different bootloader to over come some issues in 5.22
for bootloaders a higher version means a newer version.
but it is handy to keep a bootloader 5.15 on your device, since it does not come with inconvenient protection mechanisms.
my 'fixbootloader-tool' and the XdaTools both come with a 5.15 image, also the roms from the romkitchen contain a 5.15 bootloader.
neither bootloader can handle an nbf copied to a sd card.
both can only handle sd cards written in a special format ( like that generated by xdarit or XdaTools )

Is there any difference between u1000 and ameo

hi all is there any hardware difference between ameo and u 1000.
coz i heard that theres a micro drive issue in the ameo
No, originally people had issues with some of the Microdrives in the U1000, but that has all been sorted now. I think it was software related, but there is no difference in hardware between the two devices.

it's a easy decision for you, if you only want the silver one, go for Ameo, since it's cheaper (on ebay maybe) or just sign up a contract with T-mobile, now some thing you will need to know, All three machine (HTC Advantage, T-mobile Ameo, DOPOD U1000) has Microdrive issue, it's to do with their ROM, you are more likely to find it on Advantage compare to DOPOD U1000 OR Ameo, Actually, DOPOD U1000 is even less likely to happen compare to Ameo due to it's recent ROM update.
If you are not T-mobile customer and will be using other sim card, then you need to consider the sum unlock issue, you can get it done by paying some money.
If you are new to PDA and don't know what CID lock is, and you would want to update your ROM frequently, then t-mobile might not be such a good chose, they don't provide that must support on upgrade and currently there are no promise on WM6 update too.
So really, you should ask yourself these question, are you going to use it with other sim card other then T-mobile (other country)? will you want to upgrade to latest ROM (wm6) without breaking the warranty?
Good luck with your decision, after all, you are about to purchase a wonderful device.
Thanks wu
i am going to use another sim and its unlocked and without warranty
i think pof or asukal or gurus like u might find out how 2 unlock cid
i will go for ameo then
thanks a lot buddy

Replacment M3100 no longer can upgrade from MicroSD

I have just had a replacement SPV M3100 (HT646) but for some reason I am no longer able to upgrade using a MicroSD. I have unlocked and SuperCID'd and also HardSPL v7.
I don't have a spare MicroSD to test if it is that but is there a hardware change in the new phones that might stop that.
I am loathe to upgrade using the USB connections as it is flakey at best and liable to interrupt the connection.
Problem solved now but don't ask me how, after many tries it suddenly decided to go in... hmmm

SD card slot spring is broken.

I'm thinking of buying an htc hero for $20 but the guy says the sd card slot is broken and doesn't click when you push in the card. Is there a way to fix it? I mean for $20 it seems like a good deal since it's 2.1, still newish and apparently works great. So if I do buy it I'm going to try and fix the spring since my sd card has everything I need from my old phone.
Glue it in place
That might work. Then again it might not.
Just make sure the pins on the SD are touching the pins on the device and it will work, 100%
