Hi All,
Does anybody know about a compatibility problem between TyTn and BT-338? This GPS was working fine with my previous PDA (Qtek 9090). With my new TyTn I simply cannot connect them
Any ideas are welcome!!! Thx!

I'm using that same BT-338 with my TyTN. It works flawlessly, can't praise it enough. It took abit to get the proper settings but I got mine working with it.

And for points of accuracy, the TyTn is different than the Titan...

Help
I am new to the XDA II, i just purchased a bluetooth GPS device Polstsr PBT111, offered as working with XDAii usual story.
The device will pair without any problems.
However any attempt to open a serial port, nothing happens(except the odd unit reset). A LED on the unit is supposed to come on steady instead of flashing. The supplied software for PDA tester does not open the serial port. Are there any ways to configure a serial port on the XDAII, this seems to be the problem?( like system manager on a PC). I have pocket PC2003 rom version 1.03.00 USA
I have contacted the supplier and manufacturer but as yet no reply. I may have a faulty unit, but without another unit to try or some sesible ideas I am a little stuck. Any help gratefully accepted.
I think you have to install BthTools : http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html
or upgrade to 1.72
OS prior to 1.72 don't allow to choose a serial port to a bluetooth connection, that's where bthtools comes in
Thank you for the info, works a treat.
Next challenge is upgrade the ROM to 1.72?
I would definitely recommend an upgrade to 1.72 OS and 1.17 Radio, especially when you want to make use of Bluetooth.
mikecheney,
I can confirm 1.72 and the Polstar BT111 work fine for me with TomTom3 using just the supplied MS BT stack. Just had to pair the devices, then TT picks it up using its own 'Bluetooth GPS' config. pm me if you're having any grief.
1.72 provides the COM4/5 option for bt which was greyed out before in 1.66. This is part of what edsub refers to. With 1.72 you don't need Pocket Bluetooth Tools.
You can upgrade the ROM at the o2.co.uk xda home page.
cheers,
Alex.
Pharos Bluetooth GPS Receiver
Hi!
It looks to me like this is what I need.
I just purchased a Bluetooth GPS Receiver (iGPS-360) from Pharos. The problem is that I couldn't get it to work on my XDA2.
Do you think upgrading to ROM 1.72 will solve my problem?
If so, how do I upgrade to ROM 1.72 ... I need step-by-step instructions ... any links to it?
I'd appreciate your help

Dear all,
I've found the car charger mentioned in object on expansys.com, but before to order it, I'd like to understand if it works with the new HTC Tytn.
Is there anybody has bought this accessory for Tytn to give me a feedback :?:
Thanks a lot
Ciao, Cesare
hello you're right to ask before buy it because some people have problems with classical usb car charger when they used it with tytn.
I'm waiting feedback too !
Cheers
Tom
I have an original charger car charger for the 9100, any ideas if this works with the TyTN
Cato

Dear All,
I've bought it for my Tytn, and it works perfectly
Ciao, Cesare
Hi Cesare,
Is this something like this: http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=123774 ??
I'd like to use this one with my 4mm cable to charge both, my TyTn + my GPS BT mouse.
Thanks,
StonyA
Hi ppl, have external GPS for Wallaby which cable connects to the port on the bottom of the wallaby, since Im considering the buying of the Qtek S100 maybe someone know is the connector on the bottom compatible so I can use GPS on S100 too ?
Tnx !
Looks bad.
As much as i know, the S100 has just USB-Interface, and not serial as the Wallaby. Only Bluetooth GPS-Receivers will work....
Stefan
My hands was faster than brain, later I ve checked connectors and found same thing you told Stefan, sorry !
Anyway that S100 has gone before I layed my hands on it (already sold) so now I have offer for 2020. Checked pictures, connector looks the same as in 1010.
Same question, does anyone know are they compatible, intend to use GPS and travel charger from 1010 on 2020...
Thanks and sorry for bothering guys ! BR !
No problem.....
And yes, you´re right Wallaby and Himalaya has the same connector. So they are compatible and you can use your GPS with it.....
Stefan
Thank you Stefan, you are an (blue) angel
Best !
Hello,
I was interested in the HTC W100 remote control, does anyone know if it works on an Hermes?
Thanks.
I have bought one, many sites report it should work with the HTC Tytn. Unfortunately I couldn't get it working. I already tried WM5, WM6 and both updated with the HTC audio cab.
If anyone has an idea on how to fix this, please let me know!
I've emailed HTC about this and asked them if it worked with the HTC tytn, this is there answer.
Dear sir,
Thank you for contacting HTC Europe.
Regarding your query, if you check th HTC shop you will notice that the W100 remote is not listed under the accessories for the HTC TyTN. However, if you update the ROM on your device from WM5 to WM6 you should be able to use this device with the TyTN.
Unfortunately, we are not able to supply you with this update as your device is not an HTC TyTN but the T-Mobile variant of the device, the MDA Vario II. As such you would need to get in touch with T-Mobile in regards to getting a ROM update to WM6. This is naturally dependant on wether T-Mobile offer this update.
Thank you for your enquiry, Should you have any other problem, please do not hesitate to call us. Your Local number can be found at http://www.europe.htc.com/support/csbyphone.html
Best regards,
Daniel Carregosa

The funny thing is that my mobile runs WM6 and it still doesn't work.
The controller does work on a HTC Tytn 2, I've tested this myself yesterday.

If HTC said this then I guess there are no hardware problem, just software, which perhaps can be fixed with the rigt information from a Kaiser.
I'm interested in this to if someone can get it to work with Tytn.
i was thinking this when i first noticed the remote online..
lets make this happen!
I have bought the same headset and it dosen't work. What am I doing wrong?
same case here. I bought myself a E100 today & my hermes won't recognize it!! The included driver won't install, it said the existing driver on my phone is the latest one.
Any help?? Thanks in advance!!
I have a HTC 6800 AKA Titan AKA Mogul AKA P4000
and ive updated my rom with a 2.16 custom version(the last untill now) that has HTC audio manager as a default player so when press play on the w100 it automaticaly starts HTC AUDIO MANAGER and not WMP but there is still that mute button that does nothing ... anyway what i wanted to say is that i'm sure that there is a solution for everyone .. we just have to wait till someone like colonel00 or anyone else buy that controller and hopefully find this value (.reg file)
For more info or testing just PM me
The same here. Just purchased E100 wired remote control and it is not recognized by HTC TyTN at all. I am on WM6.
I have installed the driver "Y-cable_HERM1_070316.CAB" first from CD and then from HTC website. It had no effect.
Did anyone find a solution?
W100 Headset
I have also purchased this headset, and can not get it to work with the Tytn. I'm usings Schaps ROM (great ROM BTW), I can not find the HTC Audio Driver update to see if this solves the problem, so if anyone has the cab for this I would appreciate you posting it, I can't find it on HTC's site.
I have also tried to use just a USB to 3.5mm adapter and can't get that to work either.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Craig
edit: I have managed to track down the HTC-Audio Driver update files. They would not install on my phone automatically so I had to extract them and try to manually install the driver. I tried installing many different drivers from the package, but most would either have no effect/ stop audio working all together/ or stop the phone from booting. I found one in the bundle that installed and at least gave me audio through the headphones and made the microphone work but still no remote buttons. That driver is Remote_controller_Y-cable_T1_070316.CAB, so at least now I am able to use a standard pair of headphones with the Tytn, would still love to get the remote working with it though.
I just bought a orange spv m3100 from ebay and am waiting for it to arrive, probably around wednesday, at which time i will reflash it with wm6 black shadow. Anyways, im also getting a new pc and ps3, so im getting a bluetooth keybaord, as it can work with both. I was wondering if it will work out of the box with the refalshed tytn.this may seem like a stupid question, but i think its relevant.
thanks in advance
rory
I used my microsoft bluetooth keyboard with my TyTn with orginal rom no problem. In fact it was harder to get it to work with the PC!
