Hi, we made available a XDA/O2 GSM P3kit, which measures GSM/GPRS radio strength in real time.
pls try it out, http://www.mobilegx.com/ppc/p3kit/p3kit.html
It is tested on O2 PPC2000 edition, possibly works on XDAII, T-mobile as well.

I have a ATT 8525 (Hermes) (Quad Band). I have ATT (Formally Cingular) GSM service with Cingular 3G SIM Card. I got great speeds with 3G icon displayed. Push email from my Exchange Server and the works. I also upgraded it with the Win 6 ROM available on this site.
The device was too bulky and so I just got an O2 Life (unlocked) device (Tri Band) from India and brought it to the USA. I just got a new ATT 3G SIM Card from my local ATT store.
2 Problems:
I am not getting 3G or U symbol or even an E symbol. I have a constant G symbol meaning the device is using GPRS and not using 3G, 3.5G or Edge! Why?
My voice calls also drop off all the time!
Question:
Will installing AT&T Windows Mobile 6 available for the Hermes (ATT 8525) on my O2 Life help?
How do I go about doing this?
Please help!
Thank you.

Alright so i am using Mary's Rom (Newest Rom)
For some reason on my touch dual, my phone will only let me connect to the G network... Not Edge or 3g
Is this because of the radio?
I'm in the USA using AT&T
If someone can help me out that would be great..
I am using a Htc NIKE, not neon.. and the phone was imported from spain
Any information would help.
you need a HTC Neon in USA. HTC Nike cant handle the USA UMTS Frequencys!
Hi All,
Few months ago, I've bought an HTC Touch Pro from Newpan Tellcom in Israel.
Yesterday I've left my Mobile Carrier (Cellcom) and I moved to Pelephone - Other Mobile Carrier.
Since I moved to Pelephone I've some reception/signal problems.
I know that Pelephone are working with UMTS/HSPA 850+2100 MHZ bands,
but my Touch Pro supports only HSPA/WCDMA 900/2100 MHz bands.
When I've tried to switch to UMTS band, the only option that I've got was UMTS 2100+800 MHZ bands.
In order to have good reception, I must be connected to UMTS/HSPA 850+2100 MHZ bands.
I've tried to Upgrade my phone's ROM to the latest EnergyROM 'Phoenix 2' buit 21877 and still I've reception problem.
Is there any way to solve this issue?
Please Help Me!
I think Touch Pro is known to be weak on radio reception. I myself in US am suffering the same problem. While my wife's Samsung phone gets four bars around our house, I gets only one on my Fuze. And my data connection keeps bouncing between 3G and EDGE or even GPRS.
I did some googling about the Fuze receptionn problem, and it seems to me that a lot of people suffer the same problem.
http://www.htcwiki.com/thread/2216970/HTC+Fuze+Radio+Reception
But somebody in US claimed that a newer version of SIM card from AT&T will help the problem a little, and it was confirmed by some of the people went for the "solution", while the rest think it does not work.

Don't know if the same possibility is available in Israel.
Yes, ive searched the forums and read Wiki. Since flashing my HD2 with latest NRG rom with MaxSense (which ROCKS .. please someone take over maxcys work!) .. No 3G. Android MDJ Revolution HD also only runs on 2G. Never even heard of that! Sim is unlocked and running on ATT network. Android version is 2.2. Radio is 2.12.50.02...2. So no 3g on WMP or Android! Any ideas on what i should try??
TIA

I think you have T-mobile HD2 version, if so then your HD2 will never work with AT&T 3g bands which is (850mhz -1900mhz).
if you want 3G on your phone you need to move with T-mobile (1700mhz) which is compatible with your T-mobile branded HD2.
No software can solve this problem since it's 3g bands compatibility with ISP are related to hardware.
